I have been patronizing this dealership for over 7 years - bought 3 cars and traded in 2 - and have faithfully had all my servicing done for the vehicles, but no more! Little by little the service in in the QuickLane has gone from great to horrible. I am very realistic and patient with car service wait times, and in the last year it has become a 2-4 hour wait just for basic services like an oil change. I always ask them what is recommended for the next time I bring in the car for its oil change so I can be somewhat prepared for the charge, but this route has become useless now. They will always try to upsell your service. In May 2018, when I had an oil change done, I had asked the advisor about my battery since the car was now 4 years old with the same battery since I bought it. He said "They can last 3-5 years. They check it with "The Works" service and you look good." Big surprise on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend - my battery went dead. I had to get it jumped and drove over to an Auto Zone for a new battery. Then, when I started my car from getting a new battery, a Transmission Failure pops up on my dash. I had to take the car in to get the transmission control module replaced - which I had done a few years before, this is a recall issue on this vehicle and they don't make the transmission anymore, but that's no help to me. I turn over my car for a few days and get that taken care of. A few weeks after that, I come back for my regular oil change and a transmission fluid service - had to wait 4-1/2 hours!!! And the advisor tells me 3 hours into it that my brakes are at a "3" so they recommend brake flush and new pads. Where was this information in May when I brought it in? I pay for "The Works" service every time so I can be advised of any pending issues. He said " I noticed you have a free oil change and $50 in Owner's Advantage cash on your account so it would only be a few hundred dollars more." REALLY??? no, No, NO! No more. I am breaking the dealership umbilical cord. I have been a loyal customer and their service has turned into sales over the last few years. For someone who is disabled and on a fixed budget - this is unacceptable. read more

This is a review for the body shop. My truck has been there since 12-21-15 with the appraiser already giving the green light on repairs. I hit a deer and it's about $2500 worth of damage so it's not like it's a major repair. It is now 1-18-16 and my truck is still there being repaired. I understand it was right when the holidays hit so the skeleton crew was running the shop when it initially went in. However after calling just to get an update without an answer or a returned call, I had to physically show up in person to see what was taking so long. I spoke to a guy named Mike and he assured me it was mostly done and they were waiting for my adjuster to approve some additional repairs. However when my adjuster called he said all they did was remove some of the damaged parts and nothing had been done, so I was lied to about how much repairs had been done. Now my review for the service department. I dropped my truck off for repair of my traction control and braking system having issues. It took this company two weeks to repair it. And now before the accident the warning lights went off again so not only do I have to wait for the body shop repair I probably have another two week wait for service to fix something they supposedly already fixed. The only positive thing was that I was given a free rental car for the remaining last three days of repair so that's about my only positive experience with this dealership so that's why I give two stars. Maybe I'm spoiled from previously living in Houston and having Mak Haik Ford take care of me but at this point I'm looking for a better dealership in San Antonio because at this point I would highly recommend avoiding this place. read more

When I called to confirm the time of my appointment for a repair, they told me they had no record of my appointment. I set up a new appointment on the phone. They told me the repair would take 45 minutes, so I took a book to read while I waited for the car to be fixed. When I got there at 1, they told me it would be ready around 4:30 because they were "fitting me in." I didn't have a ride arranged and the waiting room, felt like sitting in a hospital, so I opted to walk to Luby's down the street to wait. When I called at 4:15, they told me they were just taking the car back to work on it right then. when I got back to the dealer to pick up my car, everything was a lot of waiting. Waiting for the repair people to walk the paperwork up to the cashier, waiting for the cashier, waiting for my car to be pulled up. It was over 5 hours by the time I left. The whole experience was unpleasant. The car went in for a recall, but when I talked to the lady at the desk to give her my keys and sign the paperwork authorizing the repair she told me the "9 times out of 10 this recall doesn't fix the problem", but I can make an appointment to bring the car back to have it diagnosed and then I can pay for the right repair. I won't go back for repairs, I won't buy a car here. read more

Do not get your vehicle serviced here. The 'Quick Lane' is slower than any other service I have ever used in my life. The estimate of 3 hrs actually took 4.5 hours and consumed my day. Dealerships are notorious for slow service, but 4.5 hours for an oil change is catastrophic. Skip this place, even if they offer free servicing. read more

My husband has taken his car this dealership 3x in past 8 mos for the same issue. We is in line at a drive thru the car stops running. When it starts - if it does it only goes about 5 mph. First time they fixed temp sensor for $670, then the 2x they repaired under warranty related to the water pump now 3x it is the bottom hoses to the radiator. The Asst Service Manager was not authorized to make any accomodations or arrangemenets to make it right. So now we are stuck w a rental car that is not covered and a $970 to get our car back and sure the car is not fixed and still wont run when waiting with the car running. We have taken our Ford cars here in the past and slowly the service has gotten worse and now we wont take any cars there anymore and will not recommend to anyone. read more

I went in with a set price and knowing exactly what I wanted: 2015 or newer F150 xlt or lariat with 4wd. I worked with a gentleman who showed me what they had in their inventory and I was considering one truck, even though it lacked the minimum requirements I had set. I was introduced to another guy who I can only describe as pure slime. I was told the price of the truck, which was 10K over my absolute limit, and I thanked them for their time and said I was going to go. They rebutted with "well how much will you be willing to pay?" I told them the same price. So mr. Slime comes back and says "the best we can do is cut $500 off. Sign here and we will get you into your truck" as he shoved the pen in my face. I said "no thanks", and he immediately got upset. At this point I had been there for 2 hours, my 2 boys were taking a nap in the rental with my wife there. She comes in with two very upset children (SCREAMING, CRYING, I MEAN HELL CAME THROUGH THESE BOYS AS THEY CAUSED MAYHEM IN THE STORE). Mr. Slime still wouldnt let us go. "Well let's show him the 2 trucks we just got in today" he said looking at my very pissed off wife. He didnt even give us a chance to tell them that if we didnt leave soon, satan would manifest right in his office via my boys. But, away he went. Right as we were about to bail, he brings up a beautiful f150 xlt. I looked at it and noticed it had 130k miles on it. Again I said no thanks as I see my two boys clawing at my poor wife. "Really!?" Said mr. Slime. "Well I was about to just give it to you for 15K. But screw it, if you dont want it, I'll go ahead and buy it!" At this point I'm royally pissed off.. "Enjoy your new truck" I said as I shook his hand and walked away. My wife found my dream truck 2 days later, on line, at riata ford in austin. Although they weren't amazing, and seemed to just want to get that truck off their lot, I got my dream truck. So I don't like writing bad reviews, but the terrible, obvious, sleazy sales tactics- coupled with the incessant harassment by the sales department afterwards made writing this review necessary. I was originally looking to buy a car in October. I knew exactly what I wanted-- a Ford Focus S or SE. I did not have the budget to go above this and made that abundantly clear. So what did the salesman do? Brings out a Focus SEL, that was clearly way over my budget, all while saying "I'm not trying to up sell you." Um, What would you call this then? Of course, the salesman could not show me an S or SE, but kept harping on the SEL and all of its features. He then starts drawing up the price sheet for this SEL (which I've repeatedly told him is not in my budget) and tries to get a manager to come talk to me about 'what a great deal it is'. At this point I'm done, and I need to pick up my niece from day care, which is all but ignored as I'm badgered to fill out paperwork for financing. Finally I escape! Or so I think, as I then have a bombardment of phone calls, voicemails, text messages, and emails from Northside Ford trying to sell me a car I don't want to buy. I wound up going up to Jordan Ford and buying the car I actually wanted to buy, at the price I wanted to buy it at, and no one attempted gross sales techniques to try to get me to buy a more expensive car than I wanted. I don't think of myself as someone easily swindled. I'm an educated person. But when you get to the finance department they're obviously schooled by Time Share salesmen. Even though you are given a 36 month warranty, and everyone told me I'm an idiot to get a warranty on top of a warranty, they are so convincing I did it. Now for the 3rd time when I've had a problem, funny enough that part isn't covered in my "bumper to bumper" protection plan. I am writing this to review the body shop and NOT the dealer We recently moved to san antonio and my wife got into an accident. It was the other party's fault so their insurance gave me options of repair one of which was northside ford. Thinking this is a dealer, it must be the good choice to make. But no it was not!!! The car had a minor T bone collision, no frame damage just damaged and deformed doors. It took three weeks to repair but that was not the problem. when we got the car back my wife did not notice that the door was completely and very obviously misaligned! .It was so poorly aligned that when it started raining, water was pouring inside her car!! I called them to complain and it took tons of calls to finally get to the manager and he told me to bring it in. after multiple attempts, it finally got aligned. finally after so much waste of time which it got fixed ( or so I thought!!) My wife and her sister were on there way to Houston when a horrid pounding noise started coming from the door and the front fender (which they had sprayed to blend) as it turns out the molding was removed , the fender resprayed but the molding had a bunch of broken clips that they glued instead of getting new ones! now please note that my wife is the first owner of this 2013 car so no prior repair has been done. Again called the NS ford, two weeks later, they got the part and they replaced it. I think they owe me for the time I spent there and on the phone. What a terrible job they did, I will never step foot in that body shop again. Whay am i writing this now? be cause now We are on their mailing list and they keep sending me JUNK. mail. Wow. Worst service I have ever experienced. Not only once but now twice (shame on me for going back). The first time I was there was for 7 hours for a simple fix. I went back in today for an oil change because I was told they do not take appointments so it is walk in. When I walked in, not one person in front of me....four service men sitting behind the counter and only one said "he would be with me in a minute". Seven minutes later and attempting to get their attention, I ended up leaving. I guess pulling a part numbers to hang in cars is more important. I ended up just leaving. I have owned numerous Ford vehicles, should I have encountered this during a purchase I never would have stayed with Ford. My husband and I dropped our car off for a recall issue on Friday with a verbal assurance that we would receive a call regarding the status of our vehicle. Dave was the representative that handled our service and unfortunately I have to emphasize the poor communication and deliverance of overall customer service. After several attempts at getting in touch with him and finding out when we would receive our car, we finally got word on Monday that our car wouldn't be ready until the following day due to some paperwork issues from a previous ford dealer in our previous state of residence for the same recall issue. After getting our vehicle back after being without a car for 3 days, we decided to give them another chance and request some non-pressing work done in the vehicle only to be quoted an outrageous amount which leads me to think they overcharge in addition to lack of customer service. read more

We have purchased five cars and trucks from Northside Ford over the years, and have always had a good experience. We currently have a 2015 Edge and 2015 F150, and have had both regularly serviced at Northside. We have always experienced prompt and courteous service at a fair price. When the hail storm hit a couple of years ago, the Edge was pulverized - Northside worked with our insurance carrier and made the car look like new for no out-of-pocket from us. We are very happy to continue doing business with Northside. read more

To be blunt, it was VERY disappointing. After negotiating the purchase of a 2021 Honda Civic over the phone with a sales rep, I made an appointment to complete the purchase. I showed up on time. My sales rep met me immediately. After a few minutes with the sales rep he asked me to wait in the lounge for finance. I waited and waited and waited. After 45 minutes of waiting I texted my sales rep for a status. He told me that they had some computer problems. Ten minutes later they called me in to complete the processing. We finished and handed me back off to my sales rep who walked me out to my new car and we completed the car orientation. He handed me my manual packet and the spare key. I was on my way. Shortly after getting home I discovered that I had been given an incorrect key. This was about 2:00 pm on Friday. I contacted my rep to let him know of the problem. He said he would bring my key to my home. I sent him directions. About 30 minutes later he texted me and said: "Just hang on to the key for now and my manager is going to reach out to you". Friday, Saturday, and Sunday passed and no contact from the manager. At 11:00am on Monday I texted my sales rep and asked him to leave the key with the receptionist and told him that I would come pick it up. His response: "Has my sales manager contacted you about your key yet?" I responded "No". He responded: "I'll have him contact you shortly". More than two hours later, still nothing! read more

Their solution was to pile on more and more weights to each wheel to where there is now a mountain of weights. 8. After numerous tries of them "trying to fix their mistake" it's still not fixed. 9. Mike Bayer says to me in Robert Jones's office (Director if service operations) "They should never have said they could do all of this work on a lifted truck in the first place" yet they did, and failed! 10. I get my truck back again and after the fourth attempt I still can't drive over 45mph without the truck shaking and bouncing everywhere! 11. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE FIXED IS IF I BUY NEW TIRES⁉ 12. I try and talk to the GM Howard about it and he brings Robert Jones back in and all they did was talk a lot of aggressive nonsense to me saying "we're not replacing your tires" "I'm not scared of you, I'm the president of this place". NORTHSIDE FORD RUINED MY TIRES‼ I have receipts and previous readings in these tires showing how new these tires are and on a lifted truck these things aren't cheap! So Okay Howard.... My elderly in laws purchased a brand new vehicle 18 months or so ago and purchased the FORD maintenance package to include everything except tires. I get these done through Discount Tire. Father in law took the vehicle in for the routine maintenance that the maintenance package covers. The also gave him the speech about the additional recommended maintenance items never mentioning these are DEALER recommended and not covered by the FORD package. They billed him for $266. He mentioned this to hid daughter, my wife, and she said that doesn't sound right. She called and spoke with Kevin about this. He agreed it should not have happened but his higher ups said he could not refund the money. Not the first time they have taken or tried to take advantage of me or my family. This is the last time though. Ididn't want them to purchase the vehicle from them in the first place but they insisted. I hope Northside Ford finds the $266 worth losing a customer over. read more

At the drop, was told it would be 2-3 more days to diagnose the issue, and potentially several days until they could actually fix it. No loan vehicles, but I could RENT a vehicle from them. THEY CLEARLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND WANT TO EXTORT THEM FOR ADDITIONAL MONEY. When I expressed how inconvenient and ridiculous this entire thing is for their customers, I was made to feel like it didn't matter and this is their price of business. I brought a flier in stating they would give away with the purchase 2 years complimentary oil changes and maintenance. I spoke with management on 2 occasions in person, and was told they would take care of it. The manager even showed me on paper what the problem was. Today, February 22, 2020; I went in for an oil change and to my surprise they still did not take care of this.. On another note, I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Needless to say the tire rotation was never done. I knew this because of my tire pressure monitoring system. I was offered a free oil change for this and tire rotation however; since this dealership is about pinching pennies and the costs, they cut corners so if your not watching them as they are doing it, your not getting what you paid for. By the way, if you really want to make a stand and make your voice count, go to www.bbb.org and file a complaint. This is the better business bureau and your complaints on yelp and anywhere else are not factored in the equation at the better business bureau so let's really put out there the truth. read more

I had a good experience with the service center. I've had an airbag recall that I've been absolutely dreading. Obviously I've been putting it off for years, lmao. One of the other local ford dealers was horrible to me over the phone when I called to ask about scheduling for my recall. It really seemed like she was trying to keep me from bringing my car in at all... like idk if recalls are a burden or what but I already have social anxiety and I was ready to just die via airbag instead of deal with it. A coworker told me "northside Ford is really nice try them" and they WERE really nice. It was easy and fast to schedule a date and time, dropping it off and picking it up only took a few minutes. I had four days off work and didn't need my car and I was sooo worried they wouldn't finish in time but it wasn't a problem. My only complaint would be that it's kind of confusing when you drive in, nobody comes over to direct you or anything so I just wandered up to the first free person i saw. Otherwise I'm really happy with how painless it was. read more

Dropped my car of for servicing of manufacturer recalls, yesterday. The work was completed quickly and I was able to pick my car up this afternoon. Unfortunately, when I walked into the service department yesterday, the representatives pretended I didn't exist. I stood waiting for about 10 minutes without so much as a head nod. My husband and I had just gotten off of work and were in uniform; maybe they dislike military personnel. Looked on the internet. Found a 2021 Ford Ranger Lariat 4 x 4. Contacted sales and asked for walk out price. After receiving that decided to go and look today. This morning was informed by sales person he had given a quote on the wrong truck but still decided to go an look. Arrived at dealership to look at a truck that was priced on the internet at $39,245. The truck was NOT a Lariat as described but an XLT model and walk out the door price was over $48,000. Several hours later the model is still listed as a Lariat. I understand that right now it is a sellers market but false advertising combined with the inability to correct this will not bring me back to this dealership. Like many other dealerships in today's market they are forgetting that if they make it thru this troubling time and things return to normal their customers are going to be looking elsewhere. read more

I was instantly handed over to a sales manager- Charles Young who gave me the BEST car buying experience ever. I've purchased 4 cars in the past 8 years and Charles made it the smoothest, most comfortable process I've ever had. No pressure, offered an amazing deal for my trade (above KBB!) and went above and beyond to make sure the car was 110% before we signed anything. He exceeded all expectations! Trying to be objective but frustrated. Bought a new vehicle JUL 2020. Had a few reservations but won over by a charming salesman Charles who promised 24/7 access if any concerns. We have had minimal hail damage to trim, intermittently functional back up camera, something wrong with wiper reservoir/parts, carpeting issues and roof upholstery peeling from the door frame and now a back hatch that opens half way sometimes. Seems like a lot for a new vehicle. After 4 months no communication regarding hail repair. Salesman, who seems so surprised every time I call for an update, says he elevated it to Body Parts Manager who called with no information update and promised follow up "next day". Still crickets. Full disclosure that some items have been repaired/replaced but still frustrated that we continue without any communication or promised call backs. Disappointed that our business is not valued enough to call back with any response after 4 months, Awaiting our hatch evaluation, probable reupholstering of the roof (after a repair already) and the trim replacement. read more

I should have read the reviews first. I got 7 or 8 different stories about why the heat shield fell off my 2017 C-max and dragged to shreds. It's happened before in another state To my 2013 C-Mac. Northside refused to honor my warranty, which is bumper to bumper, including tires. I was told "the technician " said I was lying. I had a wreck. I'm 70 years old --so I asked to speak to the tech and have him tell me to my face. The final story: the last guy I talked to said it was the fault of Ken Stoepel Ford in Kerrville where I had my oil Changed. I checked YouTube--there's no reason to remove that part to change the oil. I ended up having to pay $300+. These guys deserve less than a one star. There's a lot more that happened, but these are the high points. My advice: find someone on the highway with a sign, Will Fix Car For Food. You'll get a better job done. read more

Not impressed at all with the body shop customer service. I had gotten an OK from my insurance company to have my vehicle repaired there. I went in and got the estimate done and called back for a date and time. I called and was told to bring it in @ 7:30 am and they knew I was going to wait. I bring it in and am told that the techs won't be in until 8. After about 15 min I get informed that the computer system is down and I can comeback later and they will call me. Worst service department I've ever been to. The employees are rude, not helpful, and the "quicklane" service center is about as low as imaginable. Almost 90 minutes now for a simple service, and no word about anything. I've also not been told how much anything is going to cost so that should be fun. Don't come here! read more

I Went in for an oil change and left feeling completely disrespected by the man behind the counter. As soon as I came back for my car he says "boy, you must really hate your car". I asked why and told me I haven't had an oil change in over 10,000 miles when I know for a fact I change my oil when I'm supposed to. I told him I had a receipt from the last time I was there and he said "I would sure like to see it", he made me feel like I'm an idiot just because I'm a woman, I must have no idea how to take care of my car! -AVOID AT ALL COSTS- I recently brought in my Explorer to the service center at Northside because my A/C stopped blowing out of the vents in the front but could still hear the blower motor pushing air, just not through the vent. Knowing I had purchased a warranty when I bought the car I took it in to have it serviced. The service rep James, told me that the only way my issue wouldn't be covered under warranty was if a rat had chewed the wires. I asked him to make sure a blower motor/or major A/C repair would be covered by my warranty, before I dropped the vehicle off and purchased a rental car (which would be reimbursed if the repairs were covered under warranty). The service rep said that there shouldn't be any issue with the warranty I had. So I rented a car, THREE DAYS later, I get a call from the service rep stating that it would be $800+ dollars to do the repairs to replace the blower motor and fan control because they were not covered under warranty. I couldn't believe it. Bait and switch. I told him no, that's not ok, based on what he told me. Even if my warranty did in fact not cover repairs, my experience gets even more frustrating. I go to Northside Ford to pick up my vehicle to take it to another dealership or repair shop, and I have to pay $145.00 diagnostic fee and pay $80 for the rental car that is now not covered thanks to the service rep. Very very upset I got in my car, started it and guess what was working? THE A/C!!! It worked perfectly fine. I couldn't believe it. They were going to charge me $800 to fix something that wasn't even broken. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought, well maybe it just started working, but still needs repairs. So I took it to a local mechanic who said the blower motor is completely fine and could not find any issue with the A/C unit. I didn't read all the Yelp ratings left on here for the service center and I truly wish I had and taken it to another dealership. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he would say the same thing but was not available at the moment. I simply cannot believe the extent of my experience and the fact that they were going to charge me $800 for something that wasn't even broken. Avoid at all costs. You could be the victim of an unnecessary repair, and dishonest service reps. read more
