All the nurses that were assigned to me were so sweet and supportive i could tell they love what they do. They took care of my baby during postpartum and made sure that we were okay. The food was amazing too lol i was surprised about that i always just assumed hospital food was nasty but their breakfast lunch and dinner were soooo yummy! I would give 5 stars but i didnt only because they apparently lost the clothes i arrived at the hospital in. I voiced this concern to one of the nurses and she said it was nowhere to be found. I just thought that was irritating because it was my favorite articles of clothing :/

Staff was friendly at the check in counter, and I did not have to wait too long to get signed in. I had already spent 50 minutes on the phone for the preoperative interview. The preparation for my surgery didn't take too long either. The nursing staff was very friendly and professional. The Anestesia Doctor did his job, but he was not extremely personable. To him, I was just a number. However, my Doctor Karen Buhariwalla was amazing. She explained what would happen in the upcoming procedure, and made small talk to make me feel confident, and relaxed. After the surgery the dismissal process was easy. Noone wants to have anything to do with a hospital, but if I ever have to, I would chose this one.

So if you are on the 2nd floor and quit breathing, they can go get them. Seriously??? Who would be ok with that? How is that even ok being in the hospital with breathing issues and oxygen?? I do not want my elderly parents to ever be admitted into this hospital. And before they lie to you and say we have virtual doctor's (what???) to help at nights. They are in Japan and Australia. These virtual DRs have never seen the patient nor do they bother to even read the charts and listen to what you are saying to them. They are rude but he in person ones are just as rude. They literally tell you that you can leave and go to Northside if that is where you usually go. The nurses, respiratory, lab people were doing a great job in spite of the worst hospital policies and the worst doctors I have EVER experienced. (Unfortunately with my poor health I know how the system works). These doctors not only do not listen to the patient but they are so full of themselves and obviously care nothing for their patients that they DO NOT listen to their nurses, you know the ones that actually take care of you and help you. These terrible doctors will ultimately run off good nurses because they are the ones that have to listen to the patients frustrations. But they can't say anything b/c its not being respectful to the DRs. Dear Great nurses: go get a job at a good hospital that cares for their patients and nursing staff. The robo dr in Japan I'm sure will be able to help revive people. - What a joke. Its more than obvious to your patients that your doctors mistreat your nurses. And people wonder why the health care in this state and country is so bad. Doctors and nurses should be working together to help the patients. The doctors need a stool to get off their "thrones" We must all advocate for our nurses and our own health. SHAME ON YOU Piedmont. I intend to report you to every state medical agency and every social media outlet. They are building Large retirement facilities and assisted living in Jasper and this is where they will take your loved ones if they need urgent care.

Having gone cold turkey in the past, I know how brutal it can be--I was expecting a living hell. Instead, the team here made the process manageable, perhaps only 5% of the pain I've experienced before which was tolerable and easy to sleep though. The care was professional and proactive. The doctor, counselors, and nursing staff knew exactly what I needed, and they acted on it immediately. I was able to eat, walk around, and actually sleep throughout the process. A huge thank you to the doctor, Porsha, Alicia, and Mike (the skinny guy with the long hair)--your genuine concern and expertise made all the difference. While the snack cart takes a minute to get around, the staff is quick to help if you just ask. It's rare to find a place where everyone seems so genuinely concerned about your success. The food is decent and portions are good. This is a top-notch facility for anyone looking to get their life back. Yes, smoking is permitted and they even provide them. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. I was seriously considering suicide over detoxing but decided to give a medicine detox a chance.

The areas I can see are super clean and tidy. My only complaint would be the lax way they enforce their smoking policy. There's someone smoking right outside the ER entrance. You have to walk through that noxious cloud to get in the door. I would like to sit outside at the picnic table but there is too much cigarette smoke stinking up the place. There's very visible signage out there but no enforcement.

We just moved here so its a great comfort to me to know we have you all close. Everyone was so kind and efficient during her 3-day stay. I wish I had all of your names but I just don't, but here's a few of the folks that we wish to say thank you too: -- David Mullins and Jeff Rennie came quickly in the ambulance despite us being in a dark, rural area full of deer. They were kind and comforted mom. -- Kimberly in emergency was very kind and helpful to me too, as it was our first time there and I just did not know where to go. -- The ER staff was great too, including Dr. Scott. -- The nurses were wonderful to mom, as well. I hate it that I don't have all of your names, especially the young lady that cut mom's food for her as that was so sweet. Trissi and Miranda were two I met that were kind and we really liked them and appreciated them. -- Thank you to all doctors that checked on her too. Thank you all so much, including those of you whose names I did not get unfortunately. Please forgive me but know you are very appreciated. God bless you all.

The lobby was literally empty on a Saturday. My loved one was evaluated immediately and there was a clean room available and staff who checked in frequently. We saw a friendly doctor who actually read the chart. It wasn't cold and we had cable tv to watch. Because it could have been minor or serious, my loved one was fed and given a room in the "Clinical Decision Unit" to sleep in overnight to wait for an MRI. Our room was comfortable and I was able to sleep in a recliner. The staff brought blankets and a pillow. This may sound normal but it's a world away from Emory University Clifton hospital where we paid to park and waited in a freezing lobby crammed with sick people for 15 hours before seeing a doctor. We literally heard people screaming because they were in pain. There were no doctors, a nurse said someone died due to lack of staff, one of the security guards was stabbed in the hand, it was like a horror movie! Even if you called 911 and arrived on a stretcher (which is recommended to fast track service), you'll be lined up stretcher to stretcher to freeze and wait like the rest of us. It took several days and constant checking for an MRI, whether you were admitted to the hospital or not. And I'd still choose Emory Clifton over Decatur or Hillandale.. But now we have a better option. The only area for improvement at St. Joe's would be a cafeteria open on weekends but food delivery is available. We don't always need an ER but when we do, we will go to St. Joseph's. It's worth the drive!

There was no monitoring throughout the night - only taken during triage, once before discharge... SERIOUSLY??!! Fire someone in the 180's - 200's, one would absolutely expect consistent monitoring, via machine or human. They hung a saline bag, never used. I actually had to advocate on her behalf to keep them from unnecessary blood draws. We will most certainly be examining the bill, once it arrives!! At the slightest hint that they realized I was not going to let them run unnecessarily tests on her, they backed off and quickly discharged her. This is definitely not a hospital I would recommend for anyone with any high blood pressure or cardiac conditions! Am I doctor, no. Have I cared for ailing parents and experienced this type of bill padding - YES!
