Absolutely horrible experience with their parts/service Department!! Don't recommend ANY customization whatsoever.

Took my brand new bike in for some basic warranty work on the plastic. Then engine up doing a bunch of things it did not need. Get my bike back and there is no gas in it, they didn't fix the part they said they did, didn't address my brake concern which is safety issue. They committed fraud with HDMC and the best part, I get my bike down the road maybe 5 to 10 mins, and its just misfiring away, check engine light is flashing, overheating light is on, its poping from the intake where they claim they replaced the gasket. This bike ran perfectly fine when it went it. It's not at Jet-City Harley and they are doing Damage Control and HDMC is Also involved. All business is done with this place. read more

Walked into the dealership last week to grab some much needed parts to get my 1992 Sportster back on the road for the season. I had called ahead to make sure the parts were stocked, and Jay took time out of his busy day to set aside the parts. As I was walking out of the dealership, I stopped and admired the bikes, day dreaming of the day I could ride off on one of them. The salesmen Will must have smelled my infatuation from across the showroom, because he promptly stuck out his hand and inquired about what the parts were for. He walked me over to a 2018 Sportster 1200 Iron and convinced me to throw my leg over it. He was very patient and never once tried to oversell me on a more expensive bike, because he knew my interest, and my budget. He spent 30 mins going through the numbers, and he had no qualms when I said I needed to get out of there before I pulled the trigger on the 2018 Sportster. After sleeping on it, I was in that weekend buying said Sportster. Very painless buying experience, and a very memorable experience. Great shop. Great people. Greater bikes. read more

Over the last 30 days I have left messages twice with the service department to schedule a service for my bike, needless to say I have not had a return phone call from anyone. Amazing that I received a phone call almost immediately from a sales person there since I was interested in a road glide they had for sale, but not from the service department... I went online to look at bikes, and saw a couple I liked so I reached out through the site asking for more details and I never anything back from them. I was really interested in a one particular bike so I clicked on the link to get financed for that particular bike which I was approved and still no one reached out. Then when someone did reach out they said that bike was sold and sent me a couple pics of bikes they actually had in stock. I expressed my interest in one, keeping in mind i'm already approved, and no one got back to me. I figured I'd go in and see if someone would want to sell a bike. I walked up and there were 3 guys out front, I started looking around, next thing I know, they were all gone. I looked around for 20 min. When no one came around I left. I reached out to them again w my phone letting them know I stopped in, no one responded. Several people told me not to go there, Now I see why. read more

WOW what an amazing shop! For those who have always wanted to check out the "Harley" mystique, but maybe have been a bit intimidated by a perceived "biker" persona, this is the place to go. I travel all over ... I'm from CA but I travel all the time for work. My boyfriend likes me to buy him HD shirts from all the cities I visit. I happened upon NWHD by accident while out and about and thought, "Perfect." This place is huge! And they have a great selection of clothing ... so much so that I even picked up a couple of cute t-shirts for me! I'm really writing this review for the uber cool chick that rang me up ... I think her name is Trish (forgive me if I have the name wrong!). We were chatting and she happened to ask where I was from ... in a very-normal-for-me moment, I flung my car keys into the air and watched in horror (along with Trish) as they landed on a display case. Thank God nobody got hurt and there was no damage. We laughed and Trish confessed, "I know you don't know me but you don't need to throw your keys at me ... but seriously, that totally made my day. So funny!" Anyone who can find delight in my clumsiness and laugh like she did is so worth 5 stars. Next time I'm here in Lacey (probably 2-3 weeks from now HA), I'm going to stop by for more leisurely shopping ... and to see if I can scare cool saleswoman Trish some more. read more

To: the OWNER of Northwest Harley-Davidson FYI: (do not reply) You fella's really shot yourself in the foot this time .. and unfortunately the rumors I have been hearing for years are true. Your ridiculous business practices and prices have been confirmed after my last (and final) visit to the Northwest Harley Dealership. The final straw: I brought my bike in to have the rear wheel looked at. I was told I will need new spokes or possibly a new wheel, tire, bearings etc. (no problem) As I left I was told it will 'probably cost between $1,200.00 to $1,500 to fix'. On my way home I called the service department and asked them if they had done anything yet. They said "no".. (perfect) I said "okay, I will be there tomorrow morning to pick up the bike as I do not have the extra funds right now for the repairs". I also asked if I had incurred any charges yet.. the answer was "no charges, you can pick the bike up after 10:00am the next morning". The next morning I got a call from your service department saying they had put the bike up on the lift and they were going to 'give me a deal' to help save me money. AGAIN, I asked them to stop! I thought 'oh well, they are doing me a favor'. That was Not that case.. as I was loading my bike onto my trailer to take it home, the service guy said there is a small charge ($47.25) because they "had some time into it". HUH?? What part of 'stop' and I don't have the funds to fix it right now did they NOT understand? Seriously folks.. it's not about the money.. it's about the principle of the matter and the bullshit way you people are doing business over there. Now before you reply to this email (please do not as it will go unanswered and deleted - this is for your information only) I AM NOT the only one who feels this way. Unfortunately for NWHD, I ride with a very large group and we all know you may have the monopoly in the Thurston county area but we are all absolutely fed up. And there is something seriously wrong when an employee of your establishment quietly hands me a small slip of paper with his/her phone number on it and then says "I can fix this cheaper for you at my home"... well? Are you seeing the big picture here??? ~ You basically handed me an invoice for $47.25 to tell me to never go to Northwest Harley ever again! Service department is great. I primarily interacted with Nick, who is great to work with, but the whole team is a pleasure to do business with. I went in with my fiance looking for some gear for this summer...their selection of just about anything was minuscule. Couldn't find helmets,boots,or our size in anything from jackets to sweatshirts. I wear a small and he does a small/medium the smallest size they had for men was L and a lot of xxL. The staff was friendly enough and we did get some good deer skin gloves for $30. I kinda feel like this place is good to get gifts and Harley trinkets, not real riding gear. read more

Bought a motorcycle there end of August. I was so happy I had found one there because I've had so many problems with destination Harley. I got some upgrades on the bike to include a stage 2 kit. New and louder pipes. I took the bike in October to have everything installed. Got it home to only hit the winter months and family problems. So there it sat :-(. Finally spring came and I could go on some nice few hundred mile ride. Well after 3 the tip on one of the pipes falls off?! I give Harley a call and they tell me it's wear and tear. Pipes vibrate, tips fall off. After 3 ride?! WTF?! So I email the manufacturers the pipes. They get back to me and they want a photo. This is what I hear back from them. "It looks like they removed your baffle inserts, if that's the full system. That would require them to remove the end caps, remove the inserts, and then reinstall the end caps. If they reinstalled them correctly, with Loctite, they should not back out from vibrations. That's why we use it on all of our hardware." So I forward this email to nw Harley. Finally after a few weeks of my husband calling and them being too busy to answer his messages they decide to fix the problem. It took almost a month after that and plenty of more calls to actually get the parts in to be installed. I ride in four different motorcycle groups and everyone who asked about my missing tip I told the whole story about how nw Harley said it was wear and tear and how long it was taking to fix. I'm giving 3 stars only because it's fixed. Crappy way to shove the problem back to me. Crappy way on handling my husband calling and calling and calling. Thanks for making it easy for me to decide the next bike I get will not be a Harley. And that I will be finding a better shop for the one I have now. read more

Great staff, had to get my bike picked up and looked at and they picked it up reasonably quick (within two days) and had it back to me the next day. Very friendly and professional staff. Had to get both tires on my CVO VROD replaced. Some places wouldn't touch the 260 rear tire either because of lack of equipment and/or experience. Called up my childhood friend, Kelly Shandrow, that works at NWHD and he got me in the next day..and even told me to bring my helmet to come test ride some new bikes while they were doing the install. I took my Sportster down here for a recall on the front master cylinder. I had an appointment for a month. I got a call after a week saying they didn't order the parts and I would have to wait even longer. Three weeks later I call and find out my bike is done. I picked it up and NOW it won't idle on both cylinders. They changed the spark plugs for some reason. IT WAS THERE FOR BRAKES! I don't know why they even touched the motor. I'm on my long distance motorcycle trip. Started in San Jose, CA headed towards Alberta Canada. My plan was to visit Victoria on the way which meant I needed to take a ferry boat from Port Angeles to Victoria (reservations required). About 30 miles from Lacey Washington I get a rear tire blowout. I get towed into Northwest around 3:30. The guys in service helped unload my bike and WITHIN AN HOUR all repairs were done, the tire was replaced, and I was on my way to Port Angeles. The service manager couldn't have been nicer. He cared that I was a long way from home and had a schedule to keep. Great service. Fast service. Courteous service. Everything was done right. Thanks Northwest. read more

Just had my first service shop experience there. I could tell they were very busy when I dropped my bike off yet they still took the time to patiently address all my needs. They completed and addressed all my concerns in just a few days, despite their obvious work load, and called me on a Saturday that my bike was compete and ready to pick up. The service and parts department suck!! They can not quote you the same price in the same day and always try and up charge you. Then the service department talked shit about work that was done on my bike and then I explained they did the work and he still charged me to fix it. Then when I picked up the bike they tried to charge me more than the quoted price. Good thing I had quote on paper, but when I pulled it out the service manager turned into an ass. I currently live in San Francisco and will be moving back to Washington. Olympia is my home town. I was excited to visit the Harley shop and pick up a unique PNW T-shirt. Since I've been collecting them as I go to different cities. Maybe it's because I wasn't a Middle Aged man or didn't "look" like I had any money to spend there. Harley has started to promote women riders. But if you treat the women like they are invisible or like that have no business being in a shop you will lose customers. I wasn't greeted or even bothered to ask what I was looking for not even if I rode or if I was looking to buy or had any questions. I purchased 2 Harley's just last June. 2018 1200 Iron and a 2017 1200 Roadster. I've been riding since I was 5. I was the only patron along with my sister, her boyfriend and my nephew in the store. The service guys seemed to be more interested in standing around the lady that ringed you out. That was the only time I was talked to when I came up to ask a question before my purchase. Their attitude and service was disappointing. I will never be coming back. Id drive out of my way to go to another dealer for any gear, parts, service or modifications. Maybe SF Harley set the bar too high. But I thought Harley was suppose to be like a family. read more

I contacted NW Harley asking if they would be interested in taking my 2009 VStar and 2013 Harley in on trade for a 2015 Harley. The sales guy that contacted me directed me to their website, so I could get an estimate for my trade-ins and purchase the new bike. He offered to talk to me to help get me on the website. To make matter worse, a few weeks later I tried to return a part, but I had forgotten the receipt at home, and the parts guy said to me it would be better if we had the receipt otherwise how would we know that you didn't just take the part of the shelf! Given that I am not customarily stealing parts for store shelves, this was very offensive to me!!!!! I then talked to the manager, who did return the part, and indicated that I would be taking my business elsewhere. BTW when I contacted the Harley dealer in Tacoma, the OWNER was happy to meet with me to discuss with me trading in my 2 bikes on a new one. I decided to stop off at Northwest Harley Davidson while on a business trip to Olympia. I like to visit Harley dealers when I travel and pick up t-shirt with the different store logos. I find a clearance rack and buy a shirt. Cashier was a very nice young lady who in addition to my credit card receipt offered me a second Larger receipt she printed. I told her the credit card receipt was fine so she discarded the larger 8 1/2 X 11 receipt. I get to my hotel and tried the shirt on and its a little smaller than the normal medium shirt I wear. Today, less than 24 hours after buying the shirt I take it back for a refund or exchange if I found another shirt. The same cashier told me she didn't think I could return it because it was discounted item. I told her that I would be happy to find another item to purchase and would pay the difference if it was more. I was also there to purchase a pair of gloves for my wife, which I did. So she said she didn't think she could and said she would call her Manager who wasn't in the store to see if she would give me the in store credit or refund. The answer was no. Flat out no. The cashier informed me that the receipt clearly says no refunds on discounted items. I asked her to show me on my receipt where is says that and she replied, its on the other receipt that you didn't want. So I bought my wife some gloves today and this time got the printed receipt. No were does it say you can not exchange or return reduced items. It says "Thank you for shopping with NWHD. Regularly priced items being returned or exchanged must be in original package in NEW condition AND AT DEALER DISCRETION. NO CASH REFUNDS! IN STORE CREDIT ONLY. Items must be returned within 30 days of purchase from NWHD. NO RETURNS ON ELECTRICAL, PAINTED PARTS OR HELMETS!! NO CASH REFUNDS *****Returns are subject to 20% Re-stocking Fee****" This is the exact message that is printed on the receipt. I tried to get a store credit or replacement item of equal or greater cost and pay the difference and was told absolutely not per the Manager, Angi Kidd. I was given Angi's business card with her phone number and called her while still at the store shortly after the cashier said she had just talked to her. I got her voice mail and left her a message explaining the situation trying to get the refund or exchange before leaving Olympia. No call back or reply from her. So I had the shirt for less than 24 hours, tags were still on it and wanted to exchange it for another item that I was willing to pay the difference on. I get that it's a clearance item they're trying to get rid of and didn't want it back, but they had a chance to provide a customer with "Customer Service" and blew it. We spend a lot of money to own Harley's and we pay a premium to have the Harley logos on our accessories. So why treat a customer who spent over $100 in your store this way? It's your choice, but I"m not going back to Northwest Harley Davidson and I certainly won't wear clothing that brands this store. The sales team might treat you better, I don't know, I didn't deal with them, but I can tell you that the General Merchandising Manager, Angi Kidd has no clue on how to take care of a customer who just might want to spend more money in the store some day. Angi, you might want to take a look at how companies like Amazon, Bose, Zappos take care of their customers and their return/exchange policy even on discounted items. They even pay shipping on returns. And guess what, people keep coming back to buy more. Just a thought Angi. So Shoppers beware. Make sure you love it and it fits before leaving the store because Angi doesn't want it back! read more

Horrible experience. Purchased my Fat Bob through AAFES overseas and it was shipped to NW Harley. They were late on the guaranteed delivery date. I was told that it was the lowest priority to be prepped because I didn't buy it there. Admin staff was rude and even over charged me on tags, title, and taxes that luckily was refunded two weeks later without an explanation. A check simply arrived and I had to call them to ask why they sent it. Bottom line: avoid NW Harley like the plague and take your Harley business to Destination Harley in Tacoma. read more

5 of us ride from Tacoma to Lacey for the ride and parts. Things have changed in parts Dept. since Jeff is no longer with us. Guys at parts Dept have no Clue without asking ,A book for parts or Exchange of defective parts.. Bought defective parts and tried to exchange, They told us to contact the maker ,if they dont stand behind the parts, . flat out told us we would eat it.. YUP.. Great Part sales, It gets worse , but wont go into all.. We have bought 2 new Harleys all our parts .Rude part sales, not standing behind defective new parts, We were left on our own.could have bought the parts on E bay for half the price.. Yup. lost 5 customers over a 2.00 part, rude and clueless parts sales people... Dont get stuck folks... read more

Have been dealing with NW Harley for a long time and have spent quite a bit of money but seeing as how my scoot is a 92 they don't want to work on it no longer. All I have is a stuck starter and seeing as how it's older than 98 they don't want to be bothered until maybe this winter. What a crock! These people use to be the best in all matters. No customer service and disrespectful to my wife. actually hung up on her and would not take my Phone call after collecting a $1000.00 down payment for a bike i was going to pay cash for. He was arrogant and tried to make us feel he didn't need the sale because he sells soooooo many bikes(whatever) and could care less. Needless to say after speaking with Julio i got my money refunded and walked into Emerald city and Tony pumped me back up about buying a hog and i even saved over 1800 bucks in the process, Paid cash there and rode away witha sweet ride. read more

Screw up No. 1: Just got my '05 Heritage Softail and the seats were not very comfortable. Went to Northwest Harley Davidson after doing a ton of online research to order a new Mustang seat, as we planned on going on a long trip in 3 weeks. The salesman stated it would take 10 days for the seats to be delivered, which was fine by me. I made the hour long drive to pick up the seats, but when I got them home and attempted to install them, I found the seats I was given DID NOT FIT!!! Imagine my dismay. I went online to research why they wouldn't fit further, as the dealership was closed on Monday and found the CORRECT part number directly from Mustang. I called on Tuesday and spoke with the salesman, giving him the CORRECT part numbers to order. Said he couldn't order the right seats for me until I had returned the WRONG seats HE ordered. SERIOUSLY???!!! So, I made the hour long drive again, up to the dealership to return the seats that were incorrectly ordered. Was told that the correct seats would take another 10 days from that date to arrive, I questioned if they could be expedited because it was the dealerships mistake. I was informed that "I" would have to pay for the rush shipping for THEIR MISTAKE! REALLY?? Fine, place the order, I just want the damn seats. Halfway home, I stopped to have lunch and started to stew. I finally called them back and cancelled the order. I had HAD ENOUGH! I called another business and was able to get the correct seats delivered to my door in 4 days at a savings of $150. That's right folks, faster and cheaper! Screw up No. 2: We are in the planning stages of going to Sturgis next year (2015), so we have been discussing upgrading to a full on touring bike. We found 2 possible choices that we liked on the NWHD website. We decided to make the hourlong drive up to road test our choices. Before we even were allowed to make a test run, they RAN OUR CREDIT. Now, doesn't this seem odd to anyone else? The first bike tested had transmission issues. 1st and 5th gears were extremely noisy. Now, mind you, we understood that this was a pre-owned unit, but you would think that the dealership would have their maintenance shop go over and also road test things before they put it out to be sold. The second unit had a beautifully shifting transmission, but had a noisy cam-chain as well as a very noticeably smelly oil leak. When asked about both unit's issues that we noticed, the salesman said that their shop thoroughly inspects each unit before it is put out on the floor for sale and that the engine noise is the way it was tuned. Hmmm, didn't know that this salesman was also a retired mechanic? As we finally sat down to discuss a purchase amount as well as a trade amount for our current bike, we were told we were approved for $XX,XXX.00, and what would we like to have our monthly payments at. No discussion of amounts for the purchase, the trade in or the interest rate/term. Who in there right mind would do a deal in this manner? When pressed for the amount of our trade, we were extremely dissatisfied with their offer. They would not negotiate any further. So, we walked out. Upon arriving home that evening we went online again to another dealership and found more promising units. We made the 2 hour drive to this location to see if we could have a better experience. The first words out of the salesman's mouth were, "Would you like to take a road test?" not "Here, fill out this credit application." We road tested the bike and upon returning to the dealership we sat down to discuss the prices of both the purchase and our trade in. WOW!!! What a concept! We agreed on their purchase price and they agreed on our trade in value for a bike that was 1 year newer with 10,000 less miles, twice the options added and with no mechanical issues than the unit at NWHD. Am I the only one that believes that this is the order in which a sale should take place? This new dealership has us as customers for LIFE! What an amazing experience, and only an additional 15 minutes of drive time. :) read more

Even still the staff answered all sorts of questions and gave me some excellent recommendations and tips for my next motorcycle purchase. I was going to buy a Bike today saw the used bike i wanted on NWHD's web site last night i called them spoke with a salesman and he said the bike was there and went there first thing next morning to PURCHASE IT...!!! Well,They DID NOT have the Bike they advertised and the salesman that i had spoken with said he did'nt understand when i talked to him on the phone..!! I was not upset until another sales staff got pretty short with me and did'nt show a Good attitude about me asking about the bike,so i was able to talk to SALES MANAGER and told him I came there to BUY a Motorcycle and he seemed as interested in My Business and $$$$$$ as i would have been in getting a HEMORROID opereration..!!!! I really expected to Ride out of that Dealership on a HarleyDavidson Motorcycle from NWHD...!! am not Happy about this review but speaking the TRUTH and even more disappointed in not being IN THE WIND on 4th of July read more
