    My bike at the shop
    Mia T.

Huge shout out to Seattle Used Bikes. After my bike died last year and I realized there was waaayyy more that needed to be fixed than planned, I decided to try to do it all myself to save money. Even with that decision they still gave me advice on the regular, always answered all my questions and helped with parts anytime I needed! My bike is now running amazing and I'm so thankful for these guys. 10/10 recommend.

I got the same great service in the new location but with a lot more room and amenities. Dave and the techs will take the time to describe why the type of service preformed is needed (service is key) and at a reasonable shop rate. I have Italian, British, and Japanese bikes and most recently had the fork seals done on my 96 DR650SE and was in out, easy peazy.

Motorcycles. I love them so much. Like a lot of kids in smaller towns, I rode little 125 cc dirt bikes growing up. We made our own wooden ramps and carefully sculpted jumps out of mud from hand with neighborhood kids. What a life. Fast forward and I'm in a mid-size city, with my motorcycle license...and still no motorcycle of my own after all these years. I had heard that insurance references multiple matrices that target the lifespan of a regular rider in Seattle to about 7 years. What Debbie Downers! After talking at length with one of my colleagues about Seattle Used Bikes (affectionately called "Sub") I decided to check them out and see what kind of inventory they kept and if there was anything in both my price range as well as my asethetics requirements. (Orange is my favorite color, it just so happens.) Dave was the most informative, non-pressure guy on EARTH to talk bikes with! I had a great time learning more about my fave manufacturer (Ducati) since he spent years running Ducati of Seattle (I met him there before LOL.) I seriously have to offer him a huge fist pump to the fact that he didn't treat me like a "girl" (guys; it's hard to explain) while talking machinery. I can talk about cars and bikes tirelessly. And because I carry a purse doesn't mean I can't whack you pretty hard with it, if needed. The 2008 MV Agusta 910R was pretty much the eptiome of the perfect bike for me. The [Italian] pedals are small for my feet, the height/weight was perfect, and it was still under the 1000cc-size. Did I mention it was ORANGE? Fack. But $12K is just too rich for me for a get-around bike in SeaTown. I told him my *actual* price range. He encouraged me to keep stopping by and to like their Facebook page to keep up on the small inventory. They service, sell, and even consign bikes AND gear including helmets, boots, gloves--at a fraction of the cost. Check SUB out. You'll probably catch me there every other Saturday through Summer LOL

He showed me multiple bikes that might suit my style and price range and never pressured me into something I want ready for. He was accommodating of my shortness and helped me feel comfortable testing the height of each bike. Malorie was the one I settled up with for payment plan and everything and she explained it all super well and made sure I was taken care of. She was amazing! After purchase you go on a tour of the building talking to people that work at the shop there for maintenance, the gear area, and theres a general feeling of camaraderie with everyone you talk to. Everyone was so nice and taught me a lot. Delivery of the bike was made shortly after purchase and the communication of the delivery driver Garrett was awesome. He works for Motorbike Porter. He sent a picture of it all loaded up (attached) and made sure to verify the address. They also have a coffee shop inside so you can get a nice coffee and look at some beautiful machines. I look forward to going back!

I was having a problem with my bike so called Optimum. They said it couldn't be seen for a couple weeks so an appointment was made. You'd think that having an appointment, particularly one you had to wait weeks for, would mean your bike would be looked at fairly quickly. After all, why else have an appointment if it isn't designating the time you're going to get service? And, indeed, when I dropped it off Porcia told me she'd have her tech look at it and get back to me in a couple days. But after a week, I'd heard nothing. NEVER RETURN CALLS So I called, got their voice mail and left a message which was never returned. Three more calls, two more weeks, and still no calls returned. Finally I called the main number and said I'm having difficulty reaching the service desk. A woman who did not identify herself got on the phone, rattled off some boilerplate sentences saying her tech has been busy, but she'd get back to me the next day. Since she never asked who I was or which bike was mine and said nothing but generalities I didn't believe I was getting anything other than being "handled" and brushed off. And, as expected, I didn't get called the next day. MISREPRESENT THE WORK THEY DID Finally got a text from Porcia: "my technician went on about two decently long test rides today" and had duplicated the problem. But when I picked up the bike, the odometer hadn't changed. My bike wasn't even taken for a test drive down the block, let alone "two decently long test rides". How much service time was I charged for test rides and other work and diagnostics that were not actually performed? FOCUS ON "HANDLING THE CUSTOMER INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING THE ISSUES I wrote the Service Dept Manager (Michael Mason per their website) about all this but the reply came from Porcia with an attempt to explain how a "long test ride" doesn't really mean a test ride at all and more I'm-reviewing-this-with-our-service-dept-team PR handling. (If they actually have a "team", why can't anyone return a call?) Finally I got a call from "General Manager" Adrielle who delivered more "handle the customer" by throwing Porcia under the bus ("I've been working with her on being better") now claiming they'd actually did two hours of diagnostics that they never billed me for (at $200/hr). Something they never mentioned ever before until I raised a question about them charging me for work not performed. SUMMARY Never call back when they say they will. Make up excuses that they didn't mean what they said. Suddenly come up with claim they took $400 off the bill they never mentioned before. Handle the customer instead of actually attempting to resolve any issues. Lose a long time customer.

The close price was 3000 more than the price on tag, not super pleasant but acceptable especially during this motorcycle hot season in Seattle. Enjoy talking with Garret every time, he shared a lot of facts and views to motorcycle noob like me. Service: was scared by lots of horrible comments, and was a bit impatient to ask for status about my bike. Had some aftermarket stuffs want them to install for me, and thought my bike has some shifting problems. Turns out my bike works good and they are honest about it and did not charge me for that part. They also told me they verified it by several persons which sounds pretty reliable. Then they installed all what I want and brought the labor time down which is great. Extra scene: When ride to home after picked up, the shift bar attached to the foot pad loosen off when exiting the highway, was scared but managed to move my bike to the emergency lane at the sixth gear, and installed the tiny bar by myself using hand and kept riding. Would be good to have them check it throughout, but not their misses since I forgot to tight it back when rolled my bike to the shop.
