Great family entertainment. Ticket prices are affordable. Plenty of parking even tho they charge 10.00 which is too much. Kids play area in right field. Thursday is 2.00 beer and hotdogs. Lots of food options..bbq..tacos..pizza plus your regular ballpark food. Fireworks show after some games is fantastic. Fun in the Western burbs.

Dollar beer Thursdays means you can get loaded for cheap!! Hot dog & cheese fries is $8

BEER LEAGUERS Minor league baseball rules in Kane County, thanks to the brilliant promotion of discount booze. After finding out that Nichole C was gifted a pair of tickets to a Cougars game, I checked the schedule and immediately saw that all Thursday home games featured $1 beers. I'll take "things I've obviously waited for my entire life" for 200, Alex. Though they're currently affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Kane County Cougars have previously had links to the Miami Marlins ('93-'02), Oakland A's ('03-'10), and Cubs ('13-'14). They call Northwestern Medicine Field their home, located off of Kirk Rd and Roosevelt. I don't remember the outcome of the game on 6/6/19, nor do I care. Both teams played like.....well, like minor leaguers. Lots of walks, errors, just fairly sh*tty baseball all around. After beer #7 I was strongly tempted to take the field for a pitching change, but my then-girlfriend wisely held me back. Bailing me out of The Clink was not on her agenda. Lines got CUH-RAZY long, since everyone 21+ wanted a piece of the $1 beer action. Concessions were way slower than anticipated. I spent a ridiculous amount of time waiting in line for cheap beer in small plastic cups (limit 2 per person). Food was priced fairly for a minor league ballpark, a corndog & fries was $6. Not all seats have cupholders, so be aware. Field dimensions are almost identical to those seen in the Majors: 335ft down the left and right field lines, 400ft in straightaway center, and 375ft in the L-R power alleys. There's always fun promotions like fireworks going on, the stadium is very kid-friendly, and bringing a family is very affordable. While most others single-'A' parks seat anywhere from 4,000-8,000, the Cougars play in a venue that can hold up to 11,000 people, the most of ANY stadium in the league! It should come as no surprise that NW Medicine Field routinely ranks among the highest attendance in 'A' ball. * TL;DR * Someone working in the Cougars marketing department is the hero the world needs but doesn't deserve. $1 beers is a fantastic idea to get people through the turnstiles, I just wish they'd remove the limitations ("buy as many beers as you can carry" would be more suitable). I had a great time with my girl on what would've otherwise been an uneventful Thursday in June. Fun times for cheap, even if the team on the field isn't bound for the playoffs. Definitely give the Cougars a shot......and go on a Thursday, obviously.

I've been here a few times, usually for a company sponsored event in the upper deck. The hot dogs are good and the beer is alright. I don't find the Kane County Cougar games to be exciting, but it's something to watch as I enjoy ballpark food. The vendors do make a visit in the upper deck and the kids seem to like their merchandise, especially the lightsaber. There's often fireworks at the end of the game, too! Fun fact: 3 of the Cubs World Series players,Kyle Schwarber, Willson Contreras and Albert Almora Jr., were former Kane County Cougars!

3.5 Stars I am a little at odds with this stadium. The Kane County Cougars are currently one of the Single A affiliates of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamond backs have two Single A teams, and the Cougars play in the Midwestern League. That being said, if you are used to watching Major leauge games, you will need to some what lower your expectations, as this league is 3 steps down from the top, so the guys are still learning and honing their skills. Field: Decent dimensions- L: 335, C 400 , R: 335 feet respectively. The batter's eye is a sad black tarp and the field walls and pretty much everywhere in the stadium is covered in ads. There looks to be a large rough patch patch between center and right that might cause F8 and F9 some issues if they aren't watching their footing. Parking: There are two options, premium parking for $10 or $5 for regular. Both seem somewhat overpriced, and the regular isn't that much farther of a walk than premium Promotions: Like many minor league teams, these guys have a ton of giveaway days and themed nights. The promotions during the game are pretty standard to other minor league team as well, so expect some entertainment besides a baseball game Food: They offer your standard baseball fare, I can't speak to the quality of the regular food. Gluten Free: They have a dedicated grill right behind home plate that offers a handful of options, including beer! The $4 hot dog is decent, although I would avoid the bun. It is on the cardboard-y side and crumbles easily Seating: There is number of options in terms of seating for you to choose from. The lower portion of the stands are actual seats, while the upper part are metal bleacher type seats. There are 2 small lawn sections along the left and right field that have a somewhat steep incline. In the back of the outfield, there is a covered picnic area for groups. Depending upon the game/ group purchase, they offer Rooftop and suites as well. These seats are located on the upper level and offer a separate entrance into the game. If you chose to, you can also access the main concourse from the area. Hands down about the suites is that on a 90+ degree day, you can escape the heat and still watch the game inside with A.C. One of the biggest issues that I personally had with the suites was their drink policy. With the purchase of my ticket, it included a buffet that ran for 2 hours, 1 hour before the game and 1 hour during. After the service of the buffet concluded, they padlocked the fridges that contained the bottled water and sodas. Your only option was to pay $4+ at the bar. I have never seen such a cheap operation considering the upcharge of the ticket and the price that they pay for the bulk sodas. Overall, this is a one and done stadium if you are trying to visit all of the baseball stadiums Tip: ** On a hot summer day, about the first 3 rows at the top of the bleachers are covered by the overhang and will provide a somewhat cooler seat.

Good baseball + friendly staff + great fun with local people. We think it's fun to see young players who are rising stars - guys like Wilsson Contreras and Kyle Schwarber, whom we first saw at the Cougars games! Especially compared with White Sox and Cubs ticket prices, the prices are great for the tickets. $15 or less, including for box seats that are really close to the field. Creative theme nights plus frequent post-game fireworks. This summer we tried the Strike Zone seats for the first time. We reserved a table for four for less than $100 total. Great view, helpful staff for getting food and drinks, and the back row even has a little bit of awning cover in case it rains. Seats swivel and are really comfortable. The Strike Zone seats sell out on weekends, so order yours early!

It takes a lot to get me to move my car, especially to drive out to the 'burbs. And then I was told there'd be baseball and cheap beer. SOLD!!! So we hauled the car out for some minor league fun. I had no idea what to expect but it was a blast! Though the beers weren't as cheap as promised, the selection was amazing. Seriously, they had Goose Islands Green Line! That's not the easiest beer to find since it's only on tap! Had a delicious Bobak's jalapeno and cheddar sausage! Mmmm.... Compared to the Road to Wrigley game we saw last year, there seemed to be less entertainment between innings. That being said, at the very end we got tumblers, and then fireworks played to bad pop music (cool tiny show though!) and then everyone of ANY age got to run the bases! Usually they just let the kiddos - but we grown up got to this time! And I beat those little 6 year-olds too! Eat. My. Dust. And go cry to your mommy! If you can make the drive do it. Tickets were $12, parking is ample and free, the food/drink was not as cheap as we thought but still better than a major league park. Oh, and we had to watch our language! This isn't Wrigley. There are a TON of the young ones around! Be respectful! :) And have fun with the family!

Nice cold 312! Gud selection ;)

Take me out to the (cheap) balllllllllll gaaaaaaaaame!! If you like baseball, hate city driving/expensive parking, and only want to pay a few $$ for tickets, come to a Cougars game! I was here twice in the last 3 weeks with friends, and for work. For the game with friends, we got seats about 15 rows up, along the 1st base line for $6 a piece. Parking was $5, and you're clearly directed where to park in their paved, lined lot. For the work game, we got to go to the upper deck patio, with food and drink included. There is private seating for that area, and the patio has a roof itself, which was much appreciated with the MAJOR storms I encountered there. At the first game, I ordered just a mixed margarita. It was $8 but came in a large yard glass. They will even mix it for you! It was good, but ended up being wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much sugar for me. I felt pretty sick after it. My friends loved it and tolerated it just fine though. The rooftop party offered many ballpark options- burgers, hotdogs, brats and grilled chicken. I had a cheese burger (ok, and a hot dog too, don't judge!) with potato salad and chips, and it was REALLY good. It was a nicely grilled patty, that was of a higher quality than just a frozen burger from the box at Jewel. Potato salad had huge potato chunks, and was also good. Miller lite and a craft beer option were given, as well as a red and white wine. Nice time had by all! Our game did get rained out after 5 innings, the called it a Cougars win, but offered free tix to another game as well! Super nice of them. Will be back again!

LAWNCHAIR UMPIRES…read more Watching a Kane County Cougars game is a fun, affordable activity on a hot summer day. I've probably been to a dozen Cougars games in my life, most of those thanks to free tickets I won from grade school reading programs. As an adult, I've attended dollar beer night and returned years later with our two kids, both enjoyable experiences. The ballpark is easy to find on Kirk Rd in Geneva. One could make the argument that I'm double dipping, since I wrote a review for the Cougars' stadium (Northwestern Medicine Field) back in Sept '19, but does anyone honestly care? The Kane County Cougars baseball organization is a separate business listing, so SHHH! My wife and I brought our kids here for a Sunday afternoon game in July, and I'm glad we paid the $15 for premier parking so we didn't have to drag our wagon for god knows how far. Entry was easy and we set up our lawn chairs & blankets on the 1st base side near right field. For lunch, I got two tamales w/elote from a food truck parked inside. The kids loved their Dippin Dots - their first encounter with the "ice cream of the future" - and my wife got a hot dog w/fries. With the heat eclipsing 90°F, I had no problem downing several draft beers from a nearby kiosk. As we exited, a staffer handed out popsicles which was a nice treat to have on the way to our car. They have fireworks after Friday or Saturday games plus bobblehead giveaways and themed nights (Star Wars, Bark at the Park, even Bluey!) The Cougars marketing team gets an A+ when it comes to promotions. * TL;DR * Cougars games are all about family fun and chill vibes. Tickets are usually dirt cheap, and this is an independent professional league (much like the Chicago Dogs near O'Hare Airport), so it's not like any of the calls matter as much as they would in a bonafide Major League game. Also, general admission lawn seats are too far away from the action for any fans to legitimately argue balls & strikes. I definitely recommend attending a Cougars game; there's lots of things for kids to enjoy while grown-ups will appreciate the reasonably priced concessions and other low-key features of the ballpark.

We went to The Pope bobblehead giveaway night which attracted a large crowd but were lucky enough to get one and had a great time as it was Thirsty Thursday offering 2.00 beers, soft drinks and half price hot dogs.
