Even though I didn't have vision insurance and my medical insurance wouldn't have covered the appointment, the cost was very reasonable--comparable to what I would have paid as an insurance co-pay.

It's amazing how when one of his employees leaves, he's able to find a replacement that continues to provide the same excellent level of service. He was so nice and so welcoming. Dr. Bonilla was super nice super knowledgeable and she really took her time with me. My left eye was giving a little bit of a problem when it comes to the prescription so she really made sure that we were able to find the right prescription strength. They were running a little behind because I guess they were having computer problems, but they were super apologetic about it and I did not mind waiting at all because I had nothing else on my schedule for the day. Danny even offered me water or Gatorade with ice, which I gladly accepted. Jesus was super nice and knowledgeable when helping me order my contacts and glasses make sure I was able to find the right deals and make sure that I use my insurance too. It's full of potential so I really appreciate him for doing that. The store itself is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The store is nice and clean and air-conditioned. Like I mentioned before the music they were playing was amazing like it took everything in me not to sing out loud to all of them the songs. Overall, if you're looking for a friendly place to get your eyes checked where they truly seem to care about their customers and treat everybody with respect and give you the time of day and not just rush you out of the door. Of note: Chrome Hearts; which not many places in the area carry, Chanel, Cartier, Tom Ford, Gucci and more! Making an appointment was easy and the young woman, Maria, who helped us was so sweet. She was patient while we tried a ton of frames and also very knowledgeable about insurances, lens upgrades and going over restrictions and warranties. It was a quick and painless process. Very friendly staff, and Dr. Pop is fine as an optometrist. Purchasing glasses there gets a little…read morepricey. But here's my main issue, and this has happened to me more than once. I like to make my appointments to be the very first of the day. Nice and early, get in and out, so I can manage my other plans for the day. So I call, and get an appointment for 9am, which is the first available time. I arrive 8:50. The office isn't open yet, so I hang around outside. Promptly at 9am the doors open. This in itself is a little unusual, normally doctor offices are open, up and running by the time the first appointments arrive. I come in and get checked in. The only person there is the receptionist. So I sit down and wait. 9 o'clock comes and goes. Finally, around 9:10 or 9:15, staff starts arriving. Again - the medical staff does not arrive until about 9:15am. On a day when there's a 9am appt. Once they arrive, they go in the back, hang up their coats, get their coffee, come back out front to their desks, log on to their computers, start looking at stuff on their computers, very lackadaisical with no urgency....and here I am sitting here waiting since 8:50am. Dr. Pop himself wanders in around 9:20. Finally, I get called, and it's pushing past 9:30. Now, I get that few doctors on earth ever take appointments at the exact appointment time. But, it was the office that made my appointment at 9am, not me. And, they don't even show up until 9:15 or 9:20. One occurrence was a rainy day. So, I can hear the staff now saying "It was raining that day and traffic was really bad". Sorry, but every driver living in Southern California knows there's extra traffic on rainy days. So, leave earlier. I certainly was able to arrive on time. And like I say, this has happened on more than one occasion. I mentioned my frustration to Dr. Pop, who said, "Sorry about that". Like I say, they are all very nice people. But at least to me, they've made it very clear, and obvious, they aren't really concerned about my personal time. If you're not going to show up until 9:15, then make my appointment at 9:30. But don't make me a 9am appointment when you don't even arrive until 20 after. 3 times this happened to me. Inexcusable. I'm now seeing another optometrist. Who so far has honored my appointment times promptly.
