Grabbed a late breakfast at Not your average Joe's in Ardmore. The complimentary bread with dip/spread was delicious. I ordered a bacon/ egg wrap and asked for my eggs to be well done. They tried BUT pI needed my eggs a little bit more well done. My friend said he would eat it later ( so we took it to go). My friend enjoyed the chicken n waffles.

    MUSTARD-CRUSTED CHICKEN

Phenomenal food! I got the mustard crusted chicken the chicken itself was crispy nothing crazy but wow the asparagus and the mash potatoes were phenomenal ! Service good too

If a Suburban Square shopping spree has stirred up the gastric juices - and a sojourn to the Ardmore Farmers' Market added fuel to the fire - then it's time to get down to the serious (or at least semi-serious) business of eating. The Square offers a number of dining options... none of which is likely to cause a serious ripple in the delicate fabric of the rarified restaurant universe. That being said, however, Not Your Average Joe's, the 22nd entry in the Massachusetts-based chain's stable of casual American eateries (the only other PA outpost is located in Glen Mills), delivers the gastronomic goods more often than not. From the very moment of its February 2015 debut, Joe's has been wildly popular - and with good reason. Domiciled in the building that was the Suburban Theater, followed by the Ardmore Farmers' Market before its move up the street, the restaurant is smack in the middle of everything and easily accessible. The interior is done up in au courant open industrial décor, but still manages to exude a certain welcoming warmth. There are bustling bars on two levels, a roof deck overlooking Suburban Square's central courtyard for al fresco dining, and an immense rear wall upon which vintage movies are projected. The key to success, though, is the food. Made from scratch, it presses all the right culinary buttons - sandwiches, salads, pizzas, entrées, decadent desserts, gluten-free options - and is both seasonally changing and reasonably priced. In addition, the restaurant boasts a very nice wine list, with 21 selections by the glass, and 20 brews on tap. In other words, Not Your Average Joe's fills in all the blanks. It's just right for a laid-back lunch or casual dinner... and it's especially recommended for a leisurely afternoon snack and/or libation after the noonday crowds have vacated the premises. If this latter possibility sounds particularly attractive, the Nacho Average Nachos are something of a must. Nachos in various and sundry incarnations have become omnipresent snacking staples on restaurant & bar menus recently. I've tasted many variations on the theme over the years, and Joe's version is right up there with the best of them. Most nacho presentations, no matter how delicious, tend to resemble the gooey regurgitation of an endangered species. Nacho Average Nachos' touch of creative artistry, however, is not only a feast for the palate but the eyes as well. The crispy corn tortillas are arranged in a tower-like structure, held together with melted pepper jack cheese, and garnished with morsels of chipotle braised chicken. The base is awash with a cumin-sour cream sauce and sprinkling of avocado-spiked corn kernels. A spiral of fresh cilantro adds a decorative crowning touch. A definite winner. If you stop by for lunch, as six members of our family did recently, salads and sandwiches take center stage. Continuing in the Asian-infused vein, the Thai noodle chicken salad definitely places first in the salad sweepstakes. Slices of perfectly grilled moist & succulent peanut sauce glazed chicken are presented on a bed of chilled lo mein noodles garnished with chunks of tomato, cucumber, mango, slices of red onion, and smattering of peanuts. Once again, as noted immediately above, it's that extraordinary sesame-ginger vinaigrette that adds immeasurably to the festivities. The grilled chicken Caesar (pictured) is also quite good. Bite-size pieces of romaine lettuce are tossed with a first-rate lemon-garlic dressing and sprinkled with shaved Romano cheese. Once again, the sliced grilled chicken is extremely moist and tender, and the crunchy pizza crisps add a flavorful textural contrast. Dinner entrées run the gamut... from chicken: piccata, enchiladas, mustard-crusted... to seafood: salmon Vietnamese, herb-crusted haddock, Jambalaya... to beef: steak frites & anything but average meatloaf. All are worthy of consideration, especially the meatloaf, which is stuffed with fresh mozzarella and companioned by great mashed potatoes and a zippy BBQ gravy. Two, however, are absolute standouts. If you're a bivalve lover, the rosemary-skewered New Bedford all-natural scallops should be right at the top of your dining agenda. On the other hand, if you're at all carnivorously inclined, the sirloin tips clearly beckon. For dessert, there's only one choice, Not Your Average Joe's claim to fame: the outrageous "Peanut Butter Thing." Peanut butter and chocolate chunks are folded into vanilla ice cream and rolled in Oreo cookie crumbs. A crown of whipped cream and drizzles of hot chocolate & caramel sauce complete this utterly decadent scenario. If you decide to indulge, I'd seriously consider postponing your next cholesterol test. As I mentioned at the outset, Not Your Average Joe's isn't about to set any new culinary standards... But the food is carefully prepared, attractively presented, and eminently satisfying - and that is a praiseworthy mission statement for any restaurant.

I love the Suburban Square location and have been meaning to try Not Your Average Joe's for a minute. I met a friend for dinner last week and we really njoyed our waitress Mya, our food and cocktails. There's a lot of space and a large projector TV, which would be great to watch games on. We were served a tempting looking basket of bread with a dipping oil when we arrived but neither of us touched it. Tip: Servers should ask if customers want bread to cut down on waste. What We Ate: Cheesesteak Egg Rolls (5/5) Fire Cracker Shrimp (5/5) (my friend first ordered the coconut shrimp but they were out of them) Sweet & Sour Chicken Bowl: grilled chicken, red & green peppers, onions, steamed broccoli, pineapple sweet & sour sauce, jasmine rice. (5/5) Chef Bryan's Jambalaya: chicken, shrimp, andouille sausage, veggies simmered in a Cajun broth with seasoned rice. Packed with flavor is an understatement! (5/5) What We Sipped On: Lemon Drop Martini (5/5) Pineapple Painkiller: House infused pineapple rum, cream of coconut, OJ, fresh pineapple and nutmeg. (5/5) Espresso Martini (5/5) (I first ordered the Skull Drink: crystal head vodka, blood orange, lime, spiced simple syrup, black salt and red wine float but they were out of the blood orange, so the good ole Espresso Martini it was) I took a star off because we had to ask multiple times for our table to be cleared of dirty dishes and they were out of a couple of our first choices. Overall it was a good experience and I'll definitely return. Njoy Life Tastefully... Cheers!

I was genuinely excited to try this place after hearing good reviews from friends! We came in and got seated right away, the server did an amazing job and tried to make sense of all of our 10 orders. She was absolutely fantastic in terms of accommodating us and making sure we got everything we needed. When we got our food, everything looked amazing. I ordered the Smokey Joe and it was a decent sized burger with plenty of fries. It was a messy burger but it wasn't by all means bad at all. It hit the spot! The pulled pork and patty really melded together and overall, every bite was packed with bbq flavor. The pickles helped cut down the richness, making it balanced. The fries were just as good as fries could be, crunchy and not oversalted. I was looking forward to the cole slaw but instead of a bite of cold, crunchy cole slaw, I had a bite of lukewarm, rubbery cole slaw. It's not a big deal because it's not the star of the show but it was something that bothered me a bit. I couldn't focus on the flavor. Regardless, the burger was still good! For $18, yes, it was expensive and it didn't taste like an $18 burger but considering the area it's located in, it made sense. I'd come here again if I was in the area with some friends but I'd probably consider alternatives as well.

    Chocolate chip cookie explosion

I ordered the garlic parmesan wings, pizza and chicken tenders with a pomegranate fiz drink. Everything was good, service was great maybe because it was so busy at the time. The ambience was nice quiet and the place has upstairs seating.

came here during friday happy hour special. we ordered several items and drinks. My favourite was the fries, the rest were quite average. Staff were kind and flexible with the seatings. We sat at the bar first and moved to the rooftop patio. Should you come here? for the space and environment, yes, but don't expect too much from the food.

Went to lunch during the week and overall had a very good experience. Gave 4 stars due to the cost of the items on the menu. Definitely on the high side so be aware. I had the Ahi Tuna salad - about $26 bucks. The service was impeccable and I love the ability to pay the bill with scanning the code and using your credit card/Apple pay right at the table. More restaurants should use this tool as it saves a lot of time.

Once inside, the feeling was a lot better. Not much in the way of art work on the walls, but still had a nice warm feeling. There were 3 of us and we did a lot of sharing. The Scallops in Shredded Filo was good but the Crab & Artichoke, with garlic aioli, parsley and capers was definitely "the winner". The Seafood Ceviche with scallops, halibut and shrimp was also delicious. While 2 of us were still enjoying our appetizers, our entrees were brought to the table and our plates moved to make room for them. I made the comment to no one in particular that I would try to eat faster as the seafood ceviche was pushed off to the side of the table. We had a 7 pm reservation and for the most part the restaurant was full by that time but we were not intentionally eating slowly. I could see if we might be taking up too much time eating and they had to move the tables but that was not the case as the restaurant was only half full by the time we left. For an establishment that is charging the prices that it is, Avg $18 for appetizers, high $30s for entrees, no one wants to feel rushed. The Halibut Almondine with Beurre Blank was good but not as good as we had hoped, with it being on the dry-side. The Dorado with Baby Vegetables was delicious as well as beautifully presented with "potato fish scales". A shared warm Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream completed our meal. Their menu is extensive making it an easy decision to return but I will mention that we would like a more leisurely experience this time around.

The food quality and prices were equally uneven. The star of the meal was the meatloaf: perfectly seasoned with the most delicious, moist, and tender texture. But this dish was served with a very strange rubbery bacon covering some asparagus. The potato puree was very well executed, not gummy or over whipped, but silky and delicate. Strangely, the vegetables were also highlights: perfectly crisp grilled asparagus and Brussels sprouts. The most offensive dish of the evening was the dessert in the form of an apple crumb described as "flaky" and "buttery." I am not exaggerating when I say that this tasted like an Ikea cafeteria dessert that had been stuck in the display case for a month. Truly the most abominable, rubbery, dense, dry dessert I've ever had. I'm shocked they had the audacity to serve this. The bread was grilled on the Sammy and the crispy onions in my burger was out of this world! I remembered to take pics of dessert. Fried bread (homemade!) with Nutella. We will be back!!

The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us.
