The menu is super diverse with so many things. It was hard to choose what to order. I heard CO is a green chili state so I ordered something with green chili. I had the Dragon's Eye Benedict 5/5. Instead of biscuit, they used pancakes. The pancakes were soft, fluffy and thick. I love the combination. Though I could barely taste the green chili. Elk Stew 3/5. There was so much peppers that it overpowered the taste of the stew. Service was alright. They didn't refill my water but asked my boyfriend if needed to refill his coke.

Breakfast goals achieved at @notchtop2024! This Estes Park institution, named after the majestic Notchtop Mountain (12,129 ft!), has been serving up deliciousness since 1993 - that's 30 years of satisfying hungry folks! Talk about a local legend. The lines out the door prove they're the "belle of the ball" when it comes to breakfast, but don't worry, they're super efficient! We devoured the flavorful Corned Beef Hash & Eggs and the unique Polish Breakfast with those amazing homemade "platkes." Both perfectly seasoned and so satisfying! Already planning my next visit to try their tempting Coffee Cocktails and Mimosas. This place is a must-stop in Estes Park!

Good traditional American breakfast spot with prompt service and a cozy dining room. The breakfast tacos with chorizo and green chile were delicious. French toast was tall and delicate. Kids devoured their pancakes.

Notchtop offers a wide range of options for their breakfast/brunch menu. Out of which, dragons egg benedict was creamy and tasty, instead of the usual English muffin, this dish had pancakes underneath the eggs. We also got Colorado burrito, the portion size was filling, and the green chili sauce was WOW. Service was fast and they are happy to adapt, esp if you need to substitute a side for dietary preferences. Highly recommend!

We were super impressed by Notchtop. We had lunch one day and then breakfast the next. The food is legit good (in my opinion, it's hard to find actually good food in smaller towns in CO). I had a burger for lunch and the next morning for breakfast, I had the Santa Fe hash -- both well seasoned and fresh and spicy. Even the drip coffee is good. The service is fast and efficient and you can tell the staff take it seriously, running a great restaurant. The crazy mountain views just outside the window make this the complete Estes dining experience.

We arrived here mid afternoon on a Saturday and it was fairly packed! We were able to be seated right away thankfully with our party of 2. Service was great and food came out quickly. Portions are generous and food is delicious! Would most definitely come again. It is lively and loud as a diner typically is inside. Family friendly!

This restaurant is located in the same lot/strip mall as Safeway, so there's plenty of parking available. The menu is HUGE and so much sounds good, so good luck deciding. I ordered the country fried steak, which comes with eggs, a choice of a potato type (I got hashbrowns) and a choice of bread (I got an English muffin). Everything was cooked well and was super flavorful, and portions were huge! Definitely come hungry. The staff were super friendly and always came to check if we needed refills or anything else. We definitely considered coming back during our stay in Estes but ran out of time. Would absolutely recommend!

This place offeres gluten-free toast, waffle, and pancakes. There milk alternatives are almond, oat, and soy. I ordered the gluten-free pancake platter; which was 1 giant pancake, 2 eggs, and 3 slices of turkey bacon (I asked for turkey). I got a side of gluten-free toast also. It was all very good. I tried the pancake without the syrup it was delicious. I got the real maple syrup; which was $2.49 upcharge (not the $1.49 online menu said) and it ruined my pancake. Also when the bill came the side of gluten free toast was $5.29 with the $1 upcharge for GF. Other than that everything I had was awesome. My hubby got the sausage and gravy platter and also loved his. He got the home fried potatoes with his. He really liked his meal, he felt there could of been more sausage in the gravy but he really liked the biscuits and potatoes. We also got lattes with alternative milk which were also good. Being this is a baked on-site and non GMO ingredient plus the food was good, we will be back! Tip: The home fried potatoes have rosemary in the herbs.

During the fall season, Pumpkin Apple Waffles. And a cup of elk stew. All of it very delicious! :)

After a beautiful hiking morning in the Rocky Mountain National Park, husband and I built up an appetite and decided to have brunch at this spot. Service was excellent. Hostess was friendly and our waitress was also friendly and attentive. The coffee here is great, no after taste or harsh bitter taste. They have a huge variety of breakfast and lunch options on their menu. When we went, they also had a seasonal fall menu. I was instantly sold when I saw pumpkin apple waffles. It was sweet, delicious, and fluffy just how I like my waffles. Also came with bacon and eggs. No extra charge for egg whites! I also had to get a cup of their soup. They had elk stew so I wanted to try it and it did not disappoint! It hit the spot on a chilly day. Very peppery flavor, it reminded me of something my nana use to make when I was a kid so it also brought back memories. I recommend this spot if you're in Estes Park :)

The service was great and we didn't have to wait for a table. They were very attentive and our food came out relatively quickly, especially considering how busy they were. There were a lot of vegetarian options available. The coffee is only okay and my food was a little under seasoned. The Cajun tofu lacked spice but was the perfect texture (which many places get wrong). All in all a good breakfast/lunch place with something for everyone.

It's a great spot away from the craziness of downtown and value priced especially for the tourists visiting Estes Park. Great food, great coffee and if you're there in the summer months sitting outside looking at the mountains makes for an excellent way to start your day. They have great pies too! read more

Notchtop is a warm and welcoming family restaurant where we know about all the servers by name. Their food is home made and large portions. We usually have leftovers and that spreads the cost over at least two meals. read more

I was so presently surprised by this place! From their selection of mimosas to the actual food. I went with the smoked salmon benedict and was not disappointed. They cooked the salmon perfectly and the hollandaise was the perfect blend. There were also these hot sauces from Cumming, GA that made the meal that much better! read more

We were very pleased with our food and service here! I love food with good flavor and this place didnt disappoint! We got the Colorado Burrito and the green chilis made this dish! The chorizo was flavored well too! We also ordered the Dragons Egg Rock Benedict and OMG. Its made with a green chili pancake and the sauce on top was superb! I ordered it without onion and black beans on the side. So pleased with the amount of flavor in this dish! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend! read more

We were seated for breakfast after about ten minutes then another ten minutes until someone took our drinks order. I ordered a Colorado coffee and spouse ordered a water. Coffee was not as described but the waiter had a hard enough time trying to understand what I was ordering go I just let it go. Neither of the entrees were something that was great just meh... service was also meh. Not going there again. read more

We have been to Notchtop numerous times over the past years and have had nothing but great service and excellent food. It is our go to restaurant in Estes Park and we tell everyone about this place. Unfortunately today we were extremely disappointed. We are a large family of 6 with young children-with 2 of us being gluten free. Our server was so incredibly rude to us the whole time. She made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her. When asked if we could sub bread for something else we were told we couldn't. We asked what flavor muffins were available and she said "I don't know. I would have to go in the back and see" which she never did she just stood there waiting for us to order. I have never experienced such rude service before. Never refilled waters and never checked on us to see how the food was. The food was a whole other matter. While most was great- my hash browns arrived cold and barely cooked. Unfortunately our server never checked on us for me to ask for them to be reheated. I can honestly say I doubt we will ever return after today nor will I be recommending this restaurant to friends. read more

Great service! Delicious breakfasts, with several creative options. Went there on a day trip to Rocky Mountain NP. Mom had the avocado toast. I had the basic eggs and bacon. My brother had the meat lovers omelette. All were delicious. Although we didn't have the time to try any, they had several fun alcoholic beverages on the menu in this cute restaurant. read more

Great food, great service, great price. What more do you need from a breakfast place?! Huge menu means there is something for everyone. That includes your vegetarian friends or self as well. Tofu, who scrambles, pulled pork, eggs in a million way, pie the size of a 14er. Get in here for a cheap breakfast, lunch dinner, or whatever and I'm sure you won't be dissatisfied. Everyone has a smile and the food came put pretty fast as well. Come on in! read more

We were in town visiting for a wedding and looked up a breakfast spot before heading back when we came across this restaurant and decided to stop in and try it out. All the reviews definitely live up to the hype. By far one of the best breakfast spots I've been to. Luca was our server and he was absolutely amazing! The biscuits and gravy were incredible along with the perfectly seasoned potatoes. You won't regret coming. read more

Been a regular for a while (1-2 times a week). Service usually okay. Not for the last month - certainly not today. Was seated within a minute... then waited twenty minutes an a nearly empty restaurant. No less than five servers on the clock. 1 or 2 other 2-top tables with patrons. Manager (owner?) was socializing with 1 table for over 10 minutes. Two tables away and she never even looked at me. I left abruptly and called in a little later to let them know I had a bad experience; I would want to know as a manager or owner. She (the manager again I believe) could not have cared less. Neither do I, I guess. There's another quaint restaurant just across the parking lot, Mountain Home Cafè. Great chow and my new digs it seems. Not saying mistakes aren't okay - but you have to address them. Her complete lack of care or interest in what they did (or didn't) do was pretty shabby. Done. From a 5 to a 2. Sigh... Life's to short for service this crumby. read more

The NotchTop catered a brunch on the morning following our daughter's wedding in Estes Park. The service was first class. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared and set up. Jayme handled all of our arrangements and was a joy to work with. Her professionalism and knowledge made everything run very smoothly. I should also mention this was over Labor Day weekend, one of Estes Park's busiest times of the year. I would highly recommend the NotchTop Café for any catered event. I can't thank them enough for making another part of our daughter's wedding a success. read more

Wow! What a breakfast! We were trying to fuel up prior to our hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park and found this gem in the heart of Estes Park. Our server, Judith, was courteous, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the meals. My husband and I are vegan, so we chose the Veggie Hash and the Veggie Burrito, both with tofu. Ridiculously good!! We split each meal and couldn't decide which we liked best. The fact that they have options for vegan diets was a huge plus, and the flavors didn't disappoint. If I could give ten stars, I would. Bravo to Judith and Notchtop. We highly recommend and will be back! read more

Notchtop is TOP NOTCH in several departments for breakfast, including the Grab and Go MASSIVE CINNAMON BUNS and CREAM CHEESE DONUTS!! If you need an 8000 calorie donut the size of your face, covered with a sweet cream cheese that used the entire tub....then stop in, order, and run...You will need to run to work that thing off.... The pastry case is a full 5 stars! I would give the dine-in experience 3 stars- you will get friendly service and a big breakfast. The menu has all the go tos- Egg combos, pancake combos, benedicts, and many specials! For me, I was pleased with the size (enormous), but my French toast was a little more savory than I wished for and I found myself regretting I had not gone to another breakfast place in town... I don't understand how a place with such mediocre food gets so popular. Coffee was really not good, like it had been sitting in the machine for hours. Party of two, ordered an omelet and waffles. Omelet was overcooked and cheese was just melted on top, as if it had been microwaved. Potatoes were just flat out not good, couldn't eat them. Waffles were dry. Service was good though. read more

I'm still dreaming of the Bacon Bloody with Absolut Peppar... so flavorful and just enough spice. And the smoked salmon benny - I'm in LOVE. I'll be back and although I'll want the same thing because it was DELICIOUS, there were so many dishes on the menu I wanted that I want to try more! I heard it was the best place in town, and although I don't know if that's true, I know it could be. read more

Our first time here and we were not disappointed. We took a break from the Highland Games and an entire downpour passed over while we were eating lunch. I had a huge elk burger and sweet potato fries. Good food and good service! Would recommend and return, if we're ever back in Estes Park. read more

I recently went to notch top after a dreamy hike to dream lake in Estes park. Repetitive I know. The food at notch top makes you reminisce of comforting mountain lodge food. I ordered their dragon eggs Benedict with green Chile pork and cheesy hollandaise with their Belgium berry waffles. We also splurged and got real Canadian syrup and their hot chocolate. This place lives up to the hype, the food was perfect, each bite was delicious and filling. The dragon egg Benedict came with a side of much needed country potatoes and the waffles came on it's own. The waffle was perfectly crispy and soft on the inside. Overall, I would probably come to notch top closer till closing like we did for a shorter wait, it can get quite busy. read more

This place was pretty great! Our server was so friendly and the service was great. The food was also good. I got the caveman hash, which is now one of my favorite breakfast I've ever had! The biscuit was a bit dry though. My boyfriend had a Ruben and a slider. He liked both a lot and said, "These might be the best hash browns I've ever had." I also got a vanilla latte, which was nice to have with breakfast,since most places like this only have drip, but I could tell the espresso was burnt. Overall, I would definitely recommend this cafe and would go again. read more

My family and I visit Estes every year and we must always dine at Notchtop. My absolute favorite dish is the corn beef hash! Nothing like it with its chunks of homemade corn beef, delicious potatoes, onions, peppers topped with 2 eggs. Service has always been great and host always stops at table to check on needs. Came in today at around 2 PM, ordered the after thanksgiving roast turkey sandwich with onion rings, friend ordered a breakfast.and onion rings. Sandwich came out with hardly any turkey on it more cream cheese. Onion rings soaked with oil. Friend stated her breakfast was just ok and her onon rings were also late and soaked in oil. No silverware on table and the guy that dropped off your lunch didn't even come back, had to flag down another server for silverware. Not good. read more

Yes!! Best breakfast ever. When you spent the previous night sledding and running around on frozen ponds and then sleep on an air mattress that is halfway deflated by morning, you need a serious, hearty, hot comfort breakfast. And a drink! TopNotch is in a little strip mall. It's a small, diner-type restaurant with a counter/bakery upfront, a little dining room that fits a surprising amount of people, and a bar! We came in around 10:30 on a Sunday morning, and our group of 7 was seated within 5 minutes. The menu is almost overwhelming! So many options for breakfast and lunch. I was absolutely in breakfast mode, so I went with the build your own frittata with home fries and gluten free toast. My brother got gluten free blueberry pancakes (which were incredible), so we shared. Other dishes at our table included Belgian waffles, an enormous breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict with salmon, and your classic bacon and eggs. Great mimosas and breakfast cocktails as well. I had a very fresh and frothy greyhound! Totally decent prices for being in a little mountain town. My breakfast entree was about $11. Our waitress handled our 7-person party beautifully and everyone had the best time! read more

Lately…read morethough, the coffee hasn't been as good and the wait has been way too long, so I decided to check out Coffee on the Rocks based on the positive reviews online and from people we know. It definitely did not disappoint. The coffee is top notch, an A+ in my book...and the speed at which they make it is also on point. I almost took away a star because during one visit they skipped forward through a Journey song, which is definitely a no-no for me, but I decided to let it slide... for now. They have a great selection of specialty lattes, and the deck ambience is hard to beat. You can feed the ducks, spot some deer, and just enjoy the wildlife along the river while you sip your coffee. We have for sure found our new coffee spot for our Estes Park visits going forward.

It's a clean and cute shop. Good selection of coffee and breakfast and light lunch options. Also a small merch section - mugs, tees, coffee cups and canisters. We tried the salmon and cream cheese bagel with capers yesterday for lunch and they were great. My husband preferred the jalapeño cheddar bagel, while I was happy with the everything bagel. The space itself is gorgeous, and not something you'd expect in a mountain town. The high ceilings and massive windows allow you to soak up any mountain and sunset views. They have a nice little patio outside and yes, you'll probably see elk grazing across the street! The pizza left more to be desired. I ordered a simple margherita ($18) and an Odell beer. I would've prefered the pizza to be cooked for another minute in the oven personally, but that's not a knock on them. It desperately needed salt. In the dough and on the tomatoes. The tomatoes slid right off every time I tried to take a bite. It was just severely under-seasoned and really didn't have any flavor at all. I would actually come back here because I do like restaurant concepts like these that offer different experiences throughout the day. A great place to hang out and recharge. I will stick with breakfast and coffee next time!

Parking is somewhat limited, but we arrived early on weekday mornings and had no trouble finding a spot. The restaurant is charming from the outside, with a colorful "Greetings from Estes Park" old postcard mural that makes for a great photo opportunity. Inside, the atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and both days we were lucky enough to snag a window booth. Our first experience set the tone right away. We walked in just as a server was arriving for her shift. Noticing nobody was at the host stand, she seated us before even putting away her personal belongings. That's customer service. For breakfast, I ordered a special that I can't seem to find on the menu now--an Eggs Benedict with pulled pork. I debated swapping the greens for potatoes but decided to be healthy. To my surprise, the dish was served on crispy potato pancakes instead of an English muffin, which meant I got the best of both worlds. The combination was fantastic, and honestly, I think Eggs Benedict works even better on potato pancakes than on bread. Every bite was packed with flavor. The next morning, I made myself try something different, even though I was tempted to order the same thing again. I chose the Cambridge Skillet: smoked ham and bacon with jack and cheddar cheeses over seasoned ranch potatoes, topped with two over-easy eggs and creamy hollandaise. It was delicious and hearty, although my first day's breakfast still edged it out as my favorite. I also sampled my friend's whole wheat blueberry pancake. It was enormous and surprisingly flavorful. I especially appreciated that many of their sweeter breakfast options come with eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage. It's a nice balance and makes for a more satisfying meal. I had to check it out and I'm thankful I did! They have quite a variety of teas, yet not an overwhelming amount. I decided to go with their number 1 option, the Rocky Mountain High tea. A sweet, fruity blend of ingredients. She brewed it right then and there. The owner is very knowledgeable of her products, real friendly and welcoming just like this whole town. Most of the top teas add a hint of Rocky Mountain flare to then; they include some ingredients that are associated with these mountains. Prices are great, the service was top notch, and this has to be the best tea shop in town. You are able to purchase tea by the bag as gifts. Next time I'm in Estes Park, I'll be coming back here.

Wheelchair accessibility: the main entrance to this restaurant is a large flight of stairs, however to the left of the restaurant around the corner, there is a large ramp that you can get up. There's plenty of room to maneuver between tables. The bathroom door is very light and is accessible in size. The soap is a little bit high and the door lock might also be a little bit high with someone with a limited range of motion. The floors inside are wood and there are threshold transitions between rooms, but they are not very high and are sloped. Parking could be a problem. It is Estes Park so there's not a lot of street parking available. We will definitely back next time we're in Estes Park!

Notchtop Bakery & Cafe was recommended to me and my friend by one of the staff members at the Inn on Fall River, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to have brunch. Located in a convenient area with a gorgeous view of the mountains, this cute little cafe has a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options (they serve both all day!). I got the veggie panini and my friend got the breakfast quesadilla, and both were AMAZING. We also had incredible service from our waitress, Gloria. She made wonderful recommendations and made sure we always had everything we needed, and she was so, so friendly. This place was exactly what we were looking for, and then some. There's truly something for everyone, and they have seasonal specialties that only add to the excitement. Our server, Eden, was an absolute gem--so sweet and attentive! Picked this based on Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. Awesome food (had the corned beef and giant breakfast burrito), excellent friendly service, fast and good coffee. Highly recommend. read more

A good breakfast place. Local. It wasn't as busy when we ate there on a Friday morning. Good service. Good food. Price is reasonable. Try it out and support local restaurants. read more
