Visited for my mom's birthday dinner. Called ahead for a reservation (highly recommend). The atmosphere was wonderful and inviting. The staff were awesome and very knowing of allergies. We were a celiacs and dairy allergy table, meaning we had a lot of questions and answers needed. They were awesome. Two of us had the duck, which was very juicy and yummy. I had the mussel small plate (not small at all) which came with the fries. SO GOOD.

Pork chop extraordinaire.

One of the few reliable, fundamentally good restaurants in the area. The food is always delicious, drinks are good and the service team is excellent. This local gem continues to draw throngs of neighbors regularly. Two thumbs up!

Portabella mushroom with fingerling potatoes and incredibly delicious goat cheese balls in foreground; duck with amazing corn compote.

Absolutely wonderful meal at Note. Great service, intimate atmosphere, and fantastic gourmet selections. We were there for our anniversary, and it was perfect! Thank you Note!

A restaurant inside the old house in Harrisburg, PA. We went to the restaurant for dinner inside was dimly lit and intimate, good for a drink, dinner for two and quiet conversation with your lover.

Yumminess!!

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is a small, cozy and local restaurant. It feels like sitting in someone living room. Make reservations! The food was excellent and the service was amazing. Emailed Ruth for reservations and she was ver responsive even though I missed my original reservation. It was pricey but definitely worth it. Great for a date night. No complaints about my experience! I will come again! Something different that made this place stand out, when they bring you the check it's in a little notebook and you can weite a nice message about your experience. Nice touch. I guess that's why they call it "Note".

Pretty disappointing dining experience tonight. This is really a lovely eatery, with a nice bar and lots of al fresco seating. Music is nice and menu is interesting. But it's really hit or miss. Prices are on the high side, e.g., $30 for a small piece of rockfish with a side of greens (the server had told her it was $28). B and I got (apparently) the last two servings of the special soup a spicy crab potato soup. Not much crab evident, and B had probably 4 times as many potatoes in her cup. M had the mussels, which had a weird sweet (fennel?) taste which really detracted from the mussels. M and I had pasta dishes, but her ragu ($28) was not hot. My gnocchi ($26) was fine, as was B's fish. The biggest problem was the slow pace of the meal. We waited and waited with no food on the table. About ten minutes after ordering, the hostess asked if we'd like some bread(!). Something was clearly wrong in the kitchen, because everyone in the restaurant was sitting with no food. No explanation from staff for the delay. Long wait + high prices = no redo.

Folks are saying this is Harrisburg's best restaurant. I'm looking on the map and I see its close to the water. I'll swing by and judge for myself. I walk into a nice looking space. Giving off an old school Brooklyn vibe, I settle down by the bar and ask for a happy hour menu. I'm looking to have a small plate with a glass of wine. The menu selection is throwing me, I don't want to eat a full entree and the small plates are small. $5 per cheese selection? What are the cheese selections? Do you offer any meats?? There is a Chicken Liver Mousse, but the Candied Strawberry is making me say no bueno. I see the description warm and savory Gougeres, Baked with Herbs & Gruyere Cheese. Mmm mm! I ask the bartender, what's a Gougeres?? Its a fancy term for homemade dinner rolls... I ordered a Spanish wine, I usually gravitate towards a Tempranillo but I see another wine from Spain not using the grapes from Riojo? I'm open so I ordered a glass. The bread comes to me, lots going on. The herb butter, the baked Gruyere Cheese, it was a nice treat. The bread isn't very dense, very light for bread baked with Gruyere Cheese. The wine comes to me and I see its a generous pour. Packed with punchy fruits, this is a beautiful Spanish wine. Note Wine Bar, I thank you for the hospitality. The wine was excellent, the Gougeres? I had to bring them back home, who eats 4 dinner rolls with wine? A put together charcuterie plate would have been a nice offering, the food choices for small plates are limiting.

Duck confit egg Benedict and crispy potatoes

We had a great Sunday brunch here at Note. Our favorite was the crispy potatoes - maybe the best I've had! I've never had potatoes that are so crispy outside while remaining perfect fluffy texture inside. This place turns crispy potatoes elsewhere to misnomers. Duck confit and pork belly are both amazing too. Looking forward to trying dinner at Note soon!

What an enjoyable experience! Food: 10/10 Drink: 10/10 Overall Ambiance: 10/10 Food: we got the French onion soup. Cheesy, baked over, excellent. Wow. Best we've ever had. Cheeseboard: MUST GET! Super excellent selection. The toasted bread is mouth watering. Patatas potatoes: my dad's favorite - we got it for him to go. He was so excited and devoured them. (As did I!). Yum. Drink: cosmopolitan/ bees something or other: excellent Ambiance: Waiter Daniel super sweet - gosh nice staff makes such a huge difference! And the owner, I do not know her name, engaging and concerned - wanting you to have a nice time. PERFECT for a date night. Will be back.

Is this a good place for a solo diner?

It is! We have a lovely little bar or if you prefer a table, we can accommodate as well!

Is it loud in the restaurant when full?

No, it is a relatively small restaurant and they play records instead of loud music.

It took several moments for the only server there to come out and get our drink order. Then awhile for our drinks to arrive, which was fine as she was the only one there. We ordered the burrata appetizer and two pizzas. It felt like our food took significantly longer than it should have, but again the place was short staffed. The food was very good. The pizza was amazing but the burrata was excellent! Our waitress was overwhelmed but friendly enough. I waited tables so I understand how it can get if you're short staffed. She apologized many times and we understood. I would like to try another Bacco in the future, but wouldn't go out of my way to go to the downtown location.

When we were seated, we were given the prix fixe food menu but never provided with a drink menu. We were served water, but our waitress didn't ask if we'd like cocktails, wine, or any featured Valentine's drinks. For a special occasion dinner, that felt like a major oversight. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Several courses were noticeably undercooked and difficult to enjoy. The carrot salad had hard, undercooked carrots and a very bitter sauce that overwhelmed the dish. The grilled Badger Flame beets were also undercooked and had an unpleasant flavor. The beet risotto was firm and lacked the creamy consistency you expect from a properly prepared risotto. The halibut tasted overly fishy and seemed undercooked in the center. For $75 per person on Valentine's Day, we expected a polished, thoughtfully executed experience. Instead, the meal felt poorly prepared and not worth the price. It was an unsatisfying way to spend what should have been a special evening. The ambiance was very nice but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.

The reserved table had been chosen with not only the size of our party considered, but also to accommodate two wheelchairs. Our server warmly greeted us and so our celebratory evening began. While my dad had a cocktail, I ordered a bottle of wine for the table. I have no problem (well, a little problem) with the markup of wine in a restaurant. The wine at the Tavern was exceptionally marked up. I ordered a 2014 Tempranillo. I do like a good Tempranillo. I was also intrigued by its $59 price. I thought I had found a hidden gem on the menu...I thought wrong. The bottle was presented to my husband who was across the table from me - it should have been presented to me since I ordered it. He was also not given a sommelier's taste, the wine was just poured for each of us. I'm not an absolute stickler about etiquette, but for such a high-end restaurant, this was out of place. I'm sure you are thinking that I just need to chill, and I'd normally agree with you, but we were not given the wine that I had ordered. Had it been properly poured, I would have noticed. It was nothing close to what I had ordered. It was the wrong varietal, wrong brand, wrong vintage, wrong country of origin. The only thing that was right was that it was a red. I knew that it didn't taste like what I had expected, but, without seeing the bottle, why would I ever expect to be served the completely wrong bottle of wine? Even Olive Garden gets it right. This should never have happened at the Tavern. I don't know what I expected from the server when I brought it to her attention. I didn't expect to be brushed off. The whole thing was just completely unacceptable. At least it had a similar price. As for the food, it was ok - nobody had anything that was really "wow". My husband and I shared the flambéed Greek cheese. It was blah and even the presentation was just meh. My dad's steak was tough as was my veal. My husband said his swordfish was cooked perfectly but had no flavor, even with its topping of shrimp. There was absolutely no effort given to the plating of any of the food. There was not enough bread served for everyone at the table and no effort was made to replenish it. The butter was a handful of individual packets strewn on the bread plate. Again, plating. The serving sizes were large - we all had lunch the next day. I didn't bring in the cake that I bought. We all decided that paying a plating charge that was over half of the cost of the cake was ridiculous. We ate it at home. My dad's special dinner was $600 for the 6 of us. If things had been on point, I wouldn't have batted my eyes (too much), but dinner was far from on point. My dad was happy that he got to spend time with his family and I'm blessed that I was able to share this day with him. But, I'm also disappointed that the Tavern on the Hill did not deliver. At all. I won't be back.

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

This was my second visit to Dalicia -- my first was for dessert (which unfortunately didn't win me…read moreover), and this time my adventure buddy was set on giving their dinner menu a try. Menu unseen, expectations unclear...so off we went! Knowing from past experience that the restaurant can feel drafty, I arrived layered up and ready for a cozy-but-practical evening on a cold February night. We walked in around 6pm without a reservation and were seated without issue as we were the only two people inside other than folks working. We started with the flatbread appetizer (feta, spinach, artichoke, mozzarella, mushrooms, peppers, scallions, turkey pepperoni on flaky pastry - $8), and honestly -- this was the highlight of the night. The pastry was thin and crisp, piled generously with toppings, and finished with what tasted like a garlicky sauce that brought everything together beautifully. Light, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. In hindsight, I should have just ordered a second one and called it dinner while things were still making me do the happy food dance. For my entrée, I ordered the Turkey Pesto Crepe ($12.25), described as sliced turkey, mushrooms, tomatoes, provolone mozzarella cheese, and sun-dried tomato pesto. On paper, this sounded fantastic -- a combination that should have delivered distinct flavors and textures. Unfortunately, everything blended together into one uniform consistency, and the individual ingredients didn't stand out the way I had hoped. It wasn't inedible -- I just lost interest after a few bites because nothing felt memorable. My adventure buddy ordered the Sarma (Stuffed Cabbage) ($18.95), described as cabbage stuffed with beef, onions, and rice, served with potatoes (his choice instead of rice). Again, the ingredients sounded promising, but the overall experience landed in the "fine" category -- nothing wrong, but nothing particularly exciting either. The potatoes fell into the same space: acceptable, but lacking seasoning or personality that might elevate the dish. We paired dinner with Pepsi Zero ($2.25 each -- note for fellow Diet Pepsi fans, they don't carry it here). Total for the evening came to about $55 including tip. It may simply not be my flavor style, but I'm always glad to support local and try something new.
