Some of the best food I've had. The owner kept open near close to serve us, and personally served and cooked all the food for us. We had the bourbon barbecue wings and hot honey garlic wings. Which were both fantastic and made with in house sauces. We also had the eagle fries which are some of the best loaded fries I've ever had. On top of that, we had the crab grilled cheese which was to die for. The atmosphere was also really nice, it was clean and the lighting was not harsh on the eyes. Great neighborhood bar/restaurant. We stopped in on a summer afternoon and sat at the bar, but they do have a nice dining area with tables. The inside is not large, but isn't cramped either, and very clean! Our bartender was great! Very friendly and chatted with us even though it was our first visit. She encouraged us to try her Negronis as a great summer sipping drink. Well, we love Negronis anyway so we were up for the offer. They were made very well. We also grabbed a bite to eat while we were there. We tried their chicken Cheesesteak and the Crab cake sandwich. Both were very good and served with amazing fries. My crab cake sandwich was amazing and probably one of the best I've had in recent years, surpassing ones I've had at the beach. My go-to item is their 'Yuengz-and-wings' deal which is comprised by a pitcher of Yuengling or Miller Lite and accompanied by 10 wings for around 15 bucks. Unfortuantely the wine selection Sucks big time. It always amazes me how restaurant owners cater to the drinkers. For instance, ask a Restaurant ower why they don't serve Schiltz or Piels Beers and they will tell you it's because they are Very Low Quality! Now ask about wine selection. We're Not asking for a Bordeaux or a Parker 95 Score Cab, but something decent . . . Bogle, Mondavi for example. The Eagle choice Boxed (Cheapest Brand!!!) OR a bottle of low grade wine. We opted for the Bottle. Bad Choice. It was "spoiled." We told the unfriendly Young waitress and she replied well we just opened the other day and you drank some. And Yes they billed us for the wine we didn't drink. As much as I like their Cheese Steaks it will be a Loooong time until we go back there for dinner. We are usually generous tippers, 20+% . . . she got 15% and lost business. The wine we didn't drink probably didn't cost the Eagle $10. So I have such mixed feelings for the Eagle. We used to come here all of the time and LOVED it! They have great food and we always loved their soups and spaghetti specials. Also the wings are great! I went on a long break with them after I went there years ago and I ordered cheese fries as an appetizer. Then I ordered a burger that came with fries and I asked if I could substitute a salad or veggies even if I had to pay. They said no. Then I asked if I could just add a salad or veggie and just pay for it al a carte. Nope. I asked if they even had those items. They said, "Oh yeah but you can only get them with entrees." Boggled my mind so I banned them for awhile. Cut to a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night my husband and I were looking for a nice place to have dinner together and we decided to try this again. The place was relatively empty and I get that they're short staffed so I had no problem with waiting for a table since they couldn't fill the restaurant due to staffing. I was told we were first on the list. We decided to sit at the bar and grab a drink while we waited. Another couple came in behind us. They sat and waited. Well neither of us ever got sat. They never even acknowledged us waiting lol. Luckily we were content at the bar at this point. We ordered food at the bar and they left. The service was good for us because we were sitting at the bar and the food we ordered was great. We got the potato skins, boneless wings, and shared a chicken sandwich. The drinks were great too. But you could see and hear the frustration within the staff and although I understood, it wasn't a good impression for others who may have been popping in for the first time. And that couple who never had the chance to eat - who knows what they were thinking. I am not sure I'll go back any time soon. But if I do, I'll sit at the bar. Prices are steep but that's everywhere. It just makes me sad what the pandemic has done to so many local businesses. I hope things can improve before more close. read more

Swung by the Eagle to get wings for the family. Tried several flavors and all were fantastic. The Garlic Parm were amongst the best I've ever had and were universally the most loved. The hot with old bay were excellent and very old-bay-y. The mild were great too. This place is known for their wings and I can totally see why! They're meaty, tasty and offer a good value especially if you get a bunch. Just a note on wings in general: I love crunchy wings. A major difficulty of 2020 has been the switch to "takeout only wings". Sauced wings tend to lose their crunch due to the sauce and the steam in takeout containers. But don't fret. If you like crunchy wings (like me), order your wings with the sauce on the side and with a small hole poked in the top of the clamshell container. Then just toss them in the sauce at home. You may sacrifice a few degrees of temperature due to the lost steam, but the wings will retain their crunch! read more

Haven't been to the Eagle in a long time, but went this friday on a beautiful, warm September evening. The Eagle set up additional tables outside with all of the Covid protocols in place. My friends and I shared a few drinks and some good food while sitting outside, enjoying the warmth and sunset in Linglestown PA. As far as the food and drinks go, the Eagle does not have the most extensive menu but the food is all very good and will certainly leave you feeling full. We got a cheesesteak, chicken sandwiches, burgers, etc. pretty standard American bar food. Service was great as well. The location, vibe, and ambience of the Eagle is definitely what makes it cool. It'll be interesting to see what happens once it starts to get a little colder because seating is a little tight on the inside from what I remember. Parking is tight like what the others said but its not bad. There's back in parking all in Linglestown for free (which are never full) and then a bunch of "spots" around the restaurant. Definitely a refreshing place to hangout on a warm, sunny evening to showcase Linglestown, PA...and the beautiful traffic circle that causes people some problems sometimes haha :) read more

Went here specifically for the wings so I made sure everyone ordered them. :) We got there after the dinner rush and service was still excellent. The kids were given little activity packets to keep them busy. It took a while for the food . . . and it was later than normal so it was good they had something to do. I ordered the "Golden Garlic" wings. Garlic, butter, and parm cheese with some lemon in the sauce. They just might be the best wings I've ever eaten. I'm not sure if the garlic was fresh or if it was the jarred kind preserved in sodium benzoate. The lemon flavor masked the tell-tale flavor. I think it might have been jarred garlic - which is the only drawback for me. Hubby ordered the mild. Daughter ordered the BBQ. Son ordered the teriyaki. All where excellent. The wings are double fried so they are perfectly crispy - none of that flabby, floppy undercooked skin you find at so many places. We will definitely return. :) read more

Came here with friends last week. Best crab grilled cheese, lots of crab, cheese, bacon and tomato. It's been on their "secret" menu for several years that locals knew about, but glad it's finally on their menu. Good selection of craft beers. My friends had the all-you-can-eat spaghetti with homemade sauce and meatballs. For dessert, we had the snickers cheesecake and a peanut butter cup whiskey martini. She is always on her phone or just off chatting with someone. Takes forever to get drinks or your order taken. Always heard good things about this place so I finally visited. Its a little cramped inside making it a bit loud and claustrophobic, however its not intolerable. Started my meal with waffle fries which were fantastic. Golden brown, crisp and delicious. Everything else was boneless wings. A multitude of flavors, all pretty tasty. I had a bit of a vantage point so to speak, sitting right outside the kitchen doors, so I couldn't help but glance at all the food coming and going. It all looked good. Expectations weren't high but I've heard good things so we have it a shot and we will return again. Service was a little disappointing re: water refills, clearing table, etc. parking is a bit of a pain, and there isn't many spots at the bar so give yourself some time if you're looking to go there for a game. Went to the Eagle Hotel for dinner on 2/5/20 and asked the waiter how the fish and chips were. He said very good so I ordered it. When I got my meal the fish and chips tasted like they were fried in the same oil. Also my wife ordered fried shrimp and they where cooked so well done that they actual had no taste and also tasted like they were fried in the same oil the fish and chips were cooked it. It was the worst meal and all I tasted that night was grease. I guess I should have just ordered the wings since that is what they are known for. Honestly, the place has lost some of it's charm. I remember rolling up when I was younger. Food was crazy cheap (especially during a wing or pasta night). Now...10 wings with celery and blue cheese will cost you $13 plus tax. Bacon cheese fries are $9.99. With that being said, this place has the potential to seriously tax one's food budget. I suppose with all the hype the Eagle has gotten over the years they are not likely to loose customers over their prices. Overall the food was good...not great. The wings were decent. The burger was decent. The fries were greasy. After a conversation with my wife, we both agree that the Eagle has to dial in on its ambiance. The place is a lot fancier these days...wine, specialty beer, crab cakes. But at the same time I can hear very loud rap music and sports on the TV. I simply let the star rating emerge as I recap and relive the experience through my writing. Despite that though, I have a strange feeling this one is going to be ugly. Not because it was necessarily bad; but because there are so many juxtaposing factors that it is going to be interesting. Happy reading. Food: Wow, and boo. We ordered the 'famous' crab cakes (market price - relevant later), several orders of wings, crab soup, and the loaded fries. Crab Soup: This came first. Amazing ... AMAZING flavor that was smooth, creamy, and undeniably fresh and homemade. We all passed it around the table for a try. Unfortunately, each bite from all of us came with so many shells and bits of cartilage that it was inedible. Not sure if this was the bottom of the pot, or if the person picking through the meat was completely inept? Either way, we all had a sip or two, and left half, then notified the server. (Soup: 3 / 5 ... 5 - 2 for its inedible-ness) Loaded Fries: Best I've ever had. Warm gooey cheese, bacon, some heavenly (homemade) cheese sauce, and paired with some great dipping ranch. I have nothing to complain about and HIGHLY recommend this. (5 / 5) Crab Cakes w/ Homemade Tartar: They were very good. There was an abundance of crab, well balanced flavors, and the freshness was undeniable. Had I been told they were $18 each...I would have reconsidered. Unfortunately, when I send back a half eaten bowl of soup and complain about the gratuitous amount of crab shell and cartilage in it, I expect it to be taken off the bill. Totally unacceptable. What else is totally unacceptable, was the bus boy cursing and dropping f-bombs a couple tables away while my family (with 4 year old) is trying to enjoy a nice night out. The combination of those two things completely outweigh the great service provided by the server. Yes, that stuff you can buy for 1.99 a bottle for Ken's, or spend a little more for Marie's or Marzanetti (one of the best ever). Ridiculous. Charging that much extra for things that should automatically come with the meal is excessive and greedy. Couple that with $18 crab cakes...EACH! I understand the menu says 'market price', but as a server, you need to throw the disclaimer out there that they cost THAT much. Based on the experience, the food, the service, the cursing, and everything in between, we did NOT get our money's worth by a long shot, and deserve an explanation and an apology from ownership. I came here specifically to try the wings because of the countless yelp shout outs that they were the best in the burg. I remain, however, unconverted. The restaurant itself is a cool little spot. Nice atmosphere, clean, and friendly enough. Although I will say I was less than impressed with the bar service. As for the wings, I'm a sucker for hot-garlic and when I saw the combo on the menu I naturally put in an order. Wings came out right away, with a pretty thick sauce over lightly crispy wings. Unfortunately, the garlic was so overpowering that I couldn't taste any hotness, I couldn't taste and wing flavor, I almost couldn't taste any chicken! Now as a matter of personal taste, I like my wings freshly crispy on the outside. These were just lightly crispy, if at all. I won't hold it against them, but like I said the flavor was just not at all balanced with the amount of garlic heaped on those bad boys. I would go back, and probably will, if just to try another flavor of wings. I give the bar service 2 stars, the wings 3 stars, and the beer list and ambiance 4 stars. MMMMMMM OMG BEST RECOMMENDATION OFF YELP EVER! First off, the waitress was super friendly and really Nice when it câme down to it. Second, the decor was cute, clean and had big flat screens with the crispest pic I've seen. The wings are superb. Seriously, the best wings any of us have ever had. Crispy, tender, with a variety of dozens of sauces. Choosing an entree among the ample selection was difficult. I went with crabcake sandwich and was by no means dissapointed. The light, toasted bread complemented the filler-free crabcake lustrously. Seriously, not to use too much hyperbole, but being from the New York and having travelled to Delaware my whole life, I have never had a better crabcake. My Dad felt his New York Strip was very good, along with the Apple sauce and cole slaw. Desserts, we were too full for, but I cannot imagine the homemade carrot cake with cream cheese and chocolate and peanut butter cake was any other par than the main course and appetizer. read more

This is my favorite place to go for wings, hands down. Went there last night as sort of an impromptu dinner place. I wasn't incredibly hungry so I chose the steamed clams in butter, garlic, and wine sauce from their appetizer section. It was a perfect choice! It was a bowl of about 20 small steamed clams resting in the butter wine sauce with garlic and surrounded with 4 big pieces of bread to soak up the extra sauce. Yum! My girlfriend had the turkey club which was enough for 2 people. The sandwich took up her entire plate. My dad ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich which he said was fantastic. I really like the atmosphere as it doesn't have the huge sports bar feel. Sure you can sit at the bar or a table and watch sports on one of the TVs. But you can also just as easily enjoy a great meal without being surrounded by blaring TVs and and staff dressed in referee uniforms. read more
