This was my first time ordering a cake from this location and unfortunately my last. I wanted to do something a bit different for my husband's birthday. Post pandemic stay at home order being lifted I was excited that this bakery was open again. I called the day before to order a small cake and got the cold shoulder from whomever answered the phone. She said several times that ordering online was much easier (it was not). She didn't give me the impression that she wanted to take the time to take my order over the phone by placing me on hold for close to seven minutes. I should have just gone elsewhere at that point but silly me... I just hung up and went to their website and placed my order. It was really not easier, but the pictures did help sort of. I had a few questions and it would have been nice to talk to a human. My husband's birthday is today and I went to pick up his cake. I told the representative my name and she brought me someone else's cake. No big deal, mistakes happen right? When she finally found my cake I realized how small it was (8 inch for $35... not worth it at all). As I was walking back to my car I noticed the HUGE crack in the cake (see pictures). It was on the side of the cake and I was very disappointed. $35 for a small cake with a crack in it. I literally could have made a better cake myself at home. Lesson learned. We ordered A tiered cake that was undecorated and added extra frosting the cake was literally divine and more than enough for 80+ people. It was easy to do and well worth the price we decided to customize it ourselves by adding artificial succulents and a custom uno banner. I like Nothing Bundt because the cakes are always good and if you want something on the nicer side but don't want to break the bank this is the perfect alternative. Used to love this place but recently it's been not great. Came in a month ago to get my birthday bundlet and the store was opened late. Came tonight at 8:01 pm after working all day as a nurse in the ICU to finally try and get my birthday cake and something small for the husband but the girl told me they were about to closed, and that my coupon had expired by 20 days. Was very rude and couldn't easily gotten business from me as I was planning to purchase a cake as well. This isn't exactly on the way home for me. Their cakes are great. Their customer service could use some serious work and an attitude adjustment. I get it was expired but the first time I came it wasn't my fault. People have lives and being that the coupon wasn't even a month expired you think they could have honored it and kept a loyal customer. Oh well! Nothing Bundt Cakes (NBC) has been on my radar ever since a co-worker told me about the business, and I've been meaning to try those individual-sized bundtlets for a while. I finally had the chance when I recently was in Carlsbad and realized that a NBC store wasn't too far from me. In fact, it was on my way as I headed back toward the freeway so I pulled into the plaza (same plaza as Costco, Veggie Grill and Burger Lounge). The store was pretty small, but packed with stuff, so I browsed while waiting for the customers in front of me to finish ordering. The two girls behind the counter were preoccupied with the customers right in front of htem, but eventually, one of them asked me if I had any questions and directed me toward the free samples. They were giving away free samples of the "Red Velvet" flavor that day and I gladly obliged. Bonus points for NBC for giving free samples ... I was wondering if the cake would be on the drier side since there doesn't seem to be too much frosting, but much to my delight, the cake was moist and fluffy. And it was at this point that I realized the red velvet flavor was studded with chocolate chips. I knew I wanted to get the "Red Velvet" flavor, but I noticed there was a seasonal "Peanut Butter and Chocolate" flavor as well. I asked the girl behind the counter about that flavor and she told me it was only going to be featured for this month. She offered me a sample of that as well (great customer service) and my mind was made up. The individual-sized "Bundtlets" are about $4.50 each (rather pricy, I thought at first, before actually opening one and realizing there's a decent amount of cake packed in there). So, even though I only intended to get one flavor, I ended up getting two because I'm a sucker for anything with peanut butter and chocolate (and if it's a limited-time thing, I might not get to try it again). The "Bundtlets" are a perfect size for dessert. You could share one with another person, but let's be real ... I was going to indulge in both of these all by myself! I kept my goods in the fridge just because I don't mind cold pastries. I would definitely revisit NBC if I was ever in the area again and I'm glad I ordered the flavors I ended up with for my first visit. Here's what I got: "Red Velvet": No red velvet flavor is legit without cream cheese frosting, in my opinion, so this NBC version takes the cake (literally). It features a moist blend of velvety rich cocoa and buttermilk that's studded with chocolate chips and is topped with the bakery's signature cream cheese frosting. Initially, I was nervous that the cake would be on the drier side (especially the part that doesn't touch any frosting) but the free samples alleviated this concern. "Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip": This was a seasonal flavor, but if there's anything with that peanut butter-chocolate combo, I'm sure to love it. I'm sad that this flavor is a seasonal one ... it was amazing! The cake itself was moist and had a subtle peanut butter flavor, but there were lots of chocolate chips throughout the cake. If I had any feedback, it would be to make that peanut butter flavor stronger and more prevalent! I really did enjoy this cake's flavor and wish that it were always available. "Chocolate Chocolate Chip": The girl behind the counter said that this was one of the most popular flavors (after red velvet, of course). This sounds like the perfect flavor for any chocoholic like myself. This features a moist, decadent chocolate cake that's packed with chocolate chips. Of course, I liked the other cake flavors just fine, but being that this cake is a chocolate cake just makes it even more enticing. Definitely want to try this flavor on my next visit, but at least I know it's always available. "Cinnamon Swirl": I love the fragrant flavors of cinnamon, so though I tend to stay away from yellow cake (since I prefer chocolate), I would still want to try this flavor. It features a yellow cake that's swirled with cinnamon and sugar, inside and out. When reading the flavor description, it almost sounds like a coffee cake ... definitely want to try this one at some point. "Pecan Praline": I love the ice cream pecan praline flavor, so I'm sure I would like this flavor in cake form. It features a streusel-like cake that's rich and buttery, with big bites of pecans enrobed in cinnamon and sugar. This basically sounds like an amped-up version of the "Cinnamon Swirl" and I can't wait to try it one day. read more

This place has some really good cakes! I tried a sample in store, before taking a couple bundlets home. Took home a cinnamon swirl and a lemon cake after trying it in the store. Their cakes have a really light texture to them, moist, and not too sweet. The cinnamon swirl had cinnamon chips strewn about, and had a cinnamon coffee cake taste to it. The lemon was just as good, with a nice tangy lemon taste. The cream cheese frosting is creamy and fairly light. It seems that there is only one frosting available, and I'm glad its this one! I'll have to come back when in the area to try out some of the other flavors, and I'm pretty sure they'll be just as good as these two. read more

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! Clearly, this location does poorly to represent the Nothing Bundt Cakes brand. I just finished talking to a friend about their recent experience. I was in shock after what I heard happen to them, so I felt the need to speak up! IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT EVERYONE? I have been a customer of Nothing Bundt Cakes, and they have always been kind and nice to me; however, they are discriminate for those who do not fit their "culture and image". Were they nice to me because of my appearance (being white and blonde)? I like to think that is not the case, but after hearing about my friend's direct experience with the manager at this store DURING THE HIRING PROCESS, I digress. The manager acted very demeaning towards them and clearly showed passive aggressive behavior towards them even asking provocative questions. I didn't know this was (still) going on, maybe I am just too blind to even know that this is going on behind-the-scenes in what I consider my neighborhood. I GREW UP HERE! The manager's mannerism was very unprofessional and discriminate. Old ways of doing business won't cut it. Companies, like Nothing Bundt Cakes, have to realize that THIS IS 2020, and we cannot stand for behavior like this. Management has to be held accountable for their discriminate actions. I used to think that this brand was part of the community, but now I see that is is clearly not the case. I hope that corporate entities know that this is going on within their corporate stores. Cute place located in the Costco Shopping Center. Parking is quite challenging as there are a lot of restaurants competing, but this is a great place. We walked in and were given a sample of the lemon. Wow. Moist, with just the right amount of frosting to lemon. The service was friendly, and they just tried to help us find what we wanted. We decided to buy two Bundtlets ($4.49 each). We got one lemon (just too good not to pass up) and one pecan & praline. Also quite tasty. Sweeter than the lemon and not as moist, but also a better fit for my sweet tooth. Also had the same great frosting as the lemon. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than expected, but it's a specialty dessert shop, when are those places really cheap? While they didn't have all their flavors (carrot being my favorite) they had 4 to choose from. I'm sure they'll branch out more once they are full n operating. 4.49 as of Dec 2013 per bundlet isn't so bad. Considering how much cake u get it's better than some of the other competitors.
