My husband and I purchased the gender reveal cake for our family and let me warn you: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. The cake is delecious; that wasn't the issue. It's $10 extra for a cheap little rattle (pink or blue) that they stick in the center. That's it. Very nice staff and yummy things to buy! It is a bit spendy for cake but one bite in you realize, this is worth the money!! I buy their full sized cakes to bring to client visits and I am always told after how wonderful the food was. Then I have to bring it on the visit. That whole strip mall area is great! Went in for the first time and the place was extremely busy. Despite being so busy, the associate took the time to explain what they offered, extras for the cakes, and even walked me over to the samples to taste. The staff seemed friendly and helpful overall and the store was very clean and organized. The cakes are phenomenally delicious! I bought the chocolate chip cake and it was rich, moist, decadent and the frosting was the perfect addition of sweetness. I can't wait to go back to try another cake! read more

I have not been to the actual location, so I can't vouch for that, but I have had the product and it is amazing! We get these cakes a lot at work for different events. They serve both large and small bundt cakes, in a variety of flavors (some are seasonal, but the regular flavors are carrot, white white chocolate, white chocolate raspberry, cinnamon swirl, marble, red velvet, chocolate chocolate chip, lemon, and pecan praline). There hasn't been a flavor I haven't liked yet. They are all so moist, just sweet enough, and the frosting is great. Yum! read more

When you walk into NBC you feel as tho you've somehow found yourself in one of those fancy scrapbooks, with fancy-lettered labels and cutesey photos affixed to every surface. After your pupils have fully adjusted to the circus surrounding you, you are immediately bombarded by one or more members of the staff who are full of more sugar than the cakes themselves. Personally, I find the cheerfulness a bit grating, but I know that's their shtick. What I don't care for is how the girls don't actually pay attention to the customers because they're too busy going through their pre-scripted routine. I had to repeat myself to the girl who was "helping me" three times because her mind was too busy remembering all the nonsense she was supposed to say, and then she got distracted by another employee. And perhaps there are invisible zappers setup to not allow some of the girls to go behind the counter because after she wrote my order on a piece of paper she left it on the counter for...nobody else to manage while she went back to her pounce-position, ready to strike out at the next customer to walk through the door. The look on my face must've been telling because after I stared at her with a "that's it?" expression, she was cued to actually pick up the piece of paper she'd left for someone else with my order on it, and actually fill it herself. She paused at that point, possibly unsure if she was supposed to ring me up too, or hand it off to another nonexistent teammate, but she proceeded and I was on my way. If it sounds like I'm being hard on the procedure, I am. I just want to point out how silly their whole song and dance is, especially for a no-frills person like me who would prefer to walk in, grab the things I want and check out as quickly as possible. The quality of the cakes is good and I enjoy them each time I visit, but I think it's worth noting that even the employees seem to trip over the strung-out process. read more

Callie greeted us enthusiastically and told us about what NBC offered! She asked about what type of cake for what occasion we were looking for. We ended up purchasing a 8" Red Velvet and added a happy birthday flag for 25¢. Our total was a little over $20. Great customer service, the decor was seasonally appropriate and so cute! I received a coupon for a free mini-bundt cake. I tried a sample of the chocolate chip, which was great, but I went home with the pumpkin spice. It is really delicious! The customer service was really wonderful, too, and although the tiny store was packed with people, they had me out the door in a matter of minutes. Overall good first experience! I am looking forward to returning to buy a gluten-free bundt cake for a friend of mine who is GF, really glad they have that option, just hope they are as good as the non-GF bundts! read more

The best chocolate chip bundt cake ever. Very moist, doesn't have that overpowering chocolate taste. I was very pleased. I also liked the pecan praline bundt cake, the lemon bundt cake was ok, it wasn't as good as the other two. Whenever I travel back to Chicago, this will be my first stop.
