I ordered a custom assortment of mini bundtini's for a co-workers birthday. I placed the order online the day before and picked it up in store, but was pretty disappointed with the service once I arrived. I ordered ahead of time and used my lunch hour to pick up the order. The cream cheese frosting was piped sloppy and I immediately noticed it when they opened the box. I did appreciate that they took it back and fixed it, but it did waste my time and lunch hour when I ordered ahead of time. Then when they took the box back, they placed it on top of some water so the bottom of the box was wet when they brought it back out to me, so for a second time they had to take it back and dry the box. For an establishment that did not appear to be busy, I felt like they could have been more intentional and thorough with my order. The cashier was an older lady and she was sweet, but I expected better and more consistency from such a staple dessert place. Try their seasonal, limited time S'MORES Bundt cake! My first time at NBC, and it did not disappoint. The staff were quick to ring our order up, but also patient with us deciding what flavors we wanted, and the store itself was very clean and decorative. We got the carrot cake and the confetti and split them, but I ended up not eating the rest of the carrot cake for 3 days and it was still very fresh. The cakes were moist and soo flavorful. Through the clear glass doors I said I am four minutes late, I have already ordered my cake, I just need to pick it up. She (the manager) refused. I pleaded with her, please please I have a party. I pleaded for ten minutes while they stood inside and cabitzed and laughed while they could have just handed me my $53 cake which should have been ready at 2:30. I never received a text even though i signed up for notifications, nothing saying we close at 4, its ready, etc.. I think they missed my order. It's the holidays and time for a little grace but this manager clearly has none in her heart. I had to buy another cake elsewhere and told everyone my cake story. I've been to this location at least 4 times now and I don't plan on going back. Their bundt cakes are great and the same as the other location in Sugar Land, BUT the last two times I've had the same miserable girl wait on me. I don't know if she hates her job or what, but please just stick her in the back where she doesn't have to interact with customers. She just stands there looking angry and makes no attempt to help customers. When I have spoken to her, she gives gruff answers. My husband was with me on the most recent trip. Neither of us said anything while in the store, but as soon as we left we turned to each other and were like "what was with her attitude??". Best location for me distance wise. Parking is a pain for me cause it's usually busy, even in their private front spot cause usually someone is there and it's a tiny spot. The Chocolate Chocolate Chip and Marble flavored bundtlets are my 2 favorites here and the Lemon flavor right after them. The Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bundtlet I bought was very delicious and very rich in chocolate flavor. It also had just the right amount of chocolate chips to add to it's awesome chocolate flavor and white buttercream smothering the top n sides of it. The texture of the cakes here is soft and kinda dense, but not too heavy either and also very moist. I love the Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Marble and Lemon flavored bundtlets here best and the prices and service are also great. I called back up and asked to speak with the manager and asked her to fix this issue, I frequent this location, and have never run into this issue before. She simply said I could bring the cakes back up and she could put the decoration on them. This is absurd, she should've credited me back for both cakes and fixed the problem so I would've continue to use this location. Do not expect much from this location! Kirsten went from a welcoming "hello.." to immediate obvious hostility and just plane rude. I was merely inquiring, not requesting additional service or changes. By far, this has been the most subpar customer service from their staff. I placed a Corporate order but had some last minute changes. I inquired for a possible cancellation and was told, at most what they can do is a store credit -- which is fine, I can always use for a later time but needed to confirm with team members prior committing to any changes. I said "thank you," and that I would get back to them shortly. 10 minutes later, I called back, and again, the same welcoming, "hello...," however, as soon as I mentioned I was the previous caller, her demeanor changed and she quickly became unfriendly, rude and just unpleasant. I was taken aback by this. We decided to switch from pick-up to delivery and she rudely took my info and even cut me off... just terrible.. This is our go-to spot after breakfast at Snooze (probably 2x/month) and we generally order at least 5 minis. What I do not like is the customer service. As previously mentioned, my family and I buy from this store at least twice per month. We are hard to miss - my wife, daughter, and I all have distinctive features. Despite this, we feel like brand new customers every time we buy here. The ladies working the case and cash registers have ZERO customer service skills. There is no warmth, no smile, nothing. I'm not sure if management is aware of this issue, but training is definitely needed for the front end staff before word spreads that this location is t preferred. We're already considering going out of the way to the Buffalo Speedway location.
