I ended up chatting with a few of the staff to hear about what items they enjoy here. Sometimes getting out and talking to strangers can be a great way to change your day around and maybe theirs. The biscuits and pie are always very good. Mini pies and by the slice satisfy the sweet and savory fixes for the week. This past weekend, I tried a new lox biscuit that had recently been added. It was delicious! Coastal Seafoods in a few doors down. I don't know if that's where they source salmon. It was silky and tasty. What really impresses me are the eggs. They are perfect! Sunnyside up with a crown of egg white cradling a perfectly runny yolk. These are so consistent. Staff are very friendly. You order at the counter and they serve you at the table. My neighborhood is a few blocks east. But Snelling and Selby Avenues are St Paul's own little Eat Street. The news that Groundswell in the Midway neighborhood was very sad. Had to sample the pumpkin and key lime. I get pie all over the cities so in comparison the pieces are smaller here. The taste was all there on both. They sprinkle coffee beans around the edge of the pumpkin. He told me that you have to order a whole pie a week in advance so they know if they have that one or not. It appears they really like to mix it up and offer seasonal ones. I like how you can order pie crusts year round. I bet these would even be good in a quiche. Now that I think of it, I have had the pastries at Nina's and really enjoyed them.

Everything was fresh and they were able to slice our bread thick like we wanted. I haven't tried the bread yet but our muffins were honestly some of the moistest muffins we've ever had!
