I've been going to Nothing Bundt Cakes in San Marcos for several years now, and it's always a hit with my friends and family. Whether I'm picking up a cake for a birthday, holiday, or just because, they've never let me down. Most recently, I stopped in for a last minute Father's Day gift and picked up one of their two bundtlet towers. The recipient absolutely loved it, which wasn't surprising. Their cakes are always incredibly moist, and the cream cheese frosting is so good. I enjoy all of their flavors, but I especially look forward to the seasonal and limited time offerings. The new Peach Cobbler flavor was amazing, and I really enjoyed the seasonal S'mores flavor as well. Every order I've placed has been accurate and ready on time. The employees are friendly, the shop is always clean, and it smells amazing the second you walk through the door. There's plenty of parking available, although the shopping center can get pretty busy. This is one of my go to places for gifts, celebrations, and sweet treats. They have tons of flavors in the display case, which is always spotless! Tons of flavors, different sizes, and even cakes for dietary needs...yes, I've had their gluten free cakes (all delicious!).....if you can't find something here that suits your needs...that's on you, not them! The store is bright and cheerful. Of course it is, they're selling cake! And the employees are just as nice! This is the one place you want to get on their email list. They recently started an app (I don't have that yet)....but let me tell you about their emails...from a marketing perspective (since I do emailing marketing)....they have their marketing dialed in! You won't get spammed with daily emails 'come buy cake!'...forget that....you'll get notices about upcoming flavors, perfectly timed 'buy one, get one free bundlets' deals' (which I usually take advantage of) and my all time favorite...my freebie birthday bundlet! Prices have increased a bit from when I first started buying their bundlets...but I always felt they were underpriced for their quality and size anyway, so I don't mind paying the new price now. This is another response to LL -- the 1-star bandit. I saw this review and had to chime in as someone who actually frequents Nothing Bundt Cakes during their posted business hours (and, yes, actually eats the delicious 5-star cakes). Giving a one-star because you showed up after closing is like blaming the sun for setting too early. You didn't even base it on the actual store or the product? And shame on you, Nothing Bundt Cakes, for not realizing it was LL's birthday! How could you possibly lock the doors without consulting her calendar first? Now that we know, let's be better prepared next time -- okay? Sometimes it's hard to use that phone we have with us at all times -- I get it. But if you had, you could've easily checked the hours or called. They're clearly posted. It's aint right to give a 1-star review because a place didn't match what you imagined it should be. What really stands out, though, is that the staff still treated you kindly and even offered to check another location after closing. That's customer service worth celebrating, not criticizing. The pop-up flavor churro dulce de Leche is my new favorite flavor! It had a slightly chewy cake with delicious dulce de Leche in the middle. I was sharing it with my partner and bummed I couldn't eat the whole thing. The thing I didn't understand was that my cakes were ordered at around 11 am online with a 5 pm pickup appointment the same day. Yet my cakes were still pulled out of their front display fridge. What if my flavors were all gone by 5 pm? We were buying a decorated cake for a very special occasion, someone in our party had never tried the cakes. They do not offer samples anymore and they would not even let us sample even though we were buying a large cake. Sometimes there a bug celebrations, and sometimes you just celebrate Tuesday! One a recent low-key'ish celebration which I felt was deserving of cake, I asked TallGirl if we could go get a cake. They aren't the size of a cupcake, they can be popped in your mouth whole. They are single bite sized. I was extremely disappointed, but I needed them that afternoon. I'm currently on vacation in North Carolina and a very close friend of mine was celebrating a birthday today. I decided to do an online order to have a cake delivered to her home. She received the cake and was ecstatic however, when we took a closer look at the message card we noticed that there were several errors on the card. Thinking this was an error on my end, I went back to my confirmation email which showed how I drafted the message and to my surprise, there were no errors on my end. I contacted the store and was told the best they could do was refund me the price of the message card which was $.50. I feel terrible because, I paid for the product to be a certain way and it was not delivered as such. The store did confirm that on their end, the message did have the error so there seems to be some sort of a glitch in the system for anyone making an online orders. I am a huge fan of the company and have used them several times, but this is just unfair. For $90 I expected perfection. Just a little update and shout out for this location. Of course with Covid in the equation, this location continues to following social distancing, but do not require masks to enter... at least at this time. A shout out to employee Annelise for the complimentary balloon. As I stepped out of the store as they prepared my buntini order, I returned to my order and a pink balloon for my granddaughter. My young granddaughter had been pointing to the balloon after I had paid. I said I would purchase one when I return for my order. This way I wouldn't have to walk around with it. I just just went here and finished my Oreo cookies and cream bundt cake. To be perfectly honest, I was driving to in n out burger and the play on words name of this place caught my attention.
