I am a Santee local and purchase cakes at this location regularly for work (monthly) and occasionally for family. Every time I pick up my purchase it is always a miss with their customer service. Today after picking up a Lemon cake I felt I really had to comment on their service. They are not the most polite and although the cakes are always great their customer service needs improvement. Today I had a bad experience with their sales/register girl Sam. She seemed annoyed from the moment I asked if she would please tell me what flavors she had available. I even though maybe I was asking the wrong question. But I realize that I have seen them answer the same way multiple times not only to me but other customers. It's unfortunate you must experience a bad moment every time you make a purchase at this location. I usually love Nothing Bundt Cakes but today I was unimpressed with trying to order a cake for a birthday. I ordered over the phone and the first time I called, it seemed like they just picked up then set down the phone, hanging up on me. When I called back, they claimed they couldn't hear anything on my end. I then placed my order and they had to take a card payment before they would accept the order which wasn't helpful since I wanted to pay cash. The lady who took my order was very rude and gave me very limited information on what "decorating the cake" meant. I was there just to pick up a bundtlet for my coworker's birthday. I hate arguing I really do, but they seriously kept insisting I said lemon. OKAY move on just give me the damn confetti, problem solved and you wouldn't have to worry about going through the trouble of refunding me. 2 stars for being nice the other times I've gone here and for staying open during a pandemic. First time going and trying there Bundt Cakes. They had red velvet samples out. Very yummy, smooth, and frosting was good. So we decide to split a dozen of the cupcakes. I pick 6, my mom picks 6. We asked the employee to put them in 2 different boxes. She told us the box holds 12, yes but we are splitting them and would like them in 2 different boxes. We even offered to pay for the extra box, but kept say 12 go in the box. So fine we got all them in 1 dozen box and now we can't tell which ones are which. My daughter and I stopped by at 7 pm to pick up our birthday bundlets thinking it would be a quick in and out. There were 5 employees, 2 registers and 3 customers. A gentleman was in line before us. A trainee helped the gentleman, while the other four employees huddled around the other register chit chatting. No "hello" or "how are you? or "how can a help you?" or eye contact that we were even there. We waited 5 minutes for the trainee to help the previous customer. Meanwhile, the customer behind me exchanged her disbelief with the poor customer service. I confirmed a similar experience. Finally, the trainee helped us and we were on the way. It was definitely a mean girl moment where the 4 girls didn't want to help the trainee. Unfortunate for the owner who has a delicious product but rely on their staff to provide excellent customer service. Fail. read more

Have ordered from multiple Nothing Bundt Cake locations and by far had the worst experience at this location. Ordered a white chocolate raspberry cake as well as bundtinis with cake toppers. When the order was picked up the receipt attached to the cake displayed our order correctly so we went home to celebrate. Once we cut into the cake and tasted it, we realized it was a lemon cake. We thought ok whatever they must have gotten mixed up but then, we opened up the box of bundtinis and what do we find... all the cakes out of place and thrown around in the box. The inside of the box looked as if someone had dropped it or flipped it upside down. The cakes were smashed against each other, smeared on the side of the box and those expensive cake toppers were ALL covered in frosting! At this point we were very upset. A Birthday that we had waited so long to celebrate due to covid, was ruined because this EXPENSIVE order was completely wrong and not given proper attention and care. Nice moist cake, not overly caked in frosting, not overly sweet & good proportion if you get the individual service size. The service, at least at this location, is very unwelcoming. Not downright rude or mean, but just very unwelcoming... & on a pretty consistent basis. They rarely greet you when you enter, usually just have a blank expression on their face, just going thru the motions to finish their shift... kind of like Walking Dead Zombies serving cake. This review is specific to the Nothing Bundt Cakes in Santee - I have other opinions of other locations. First, the concept is super cute, and the cake is really good. It's moist but not to dense, sweet but not overwhelming, and the flavor selection is fairly broad. This is basically true of all of the locations. Secondly - the service, which is what changes from location to location. The folks at the Santee shop were pleasant and friendly to us, but they seemed to be bickering a little bit among themselves. It also seemed odd that we were served before some people who had gotten their and ordered before us - not sure what was up with that. All in all, a great place to get a cake or cupcakes in a hurry. Sooooo sad to say that I am so disappointment with the service at this location. I had ordered a cake online for a birthday and was so exciting to place my order which was customized and everything. I had placed the order to pick up the next day which was perfect thinking I would pick up the cake and take it to my dinner reservation right after. When I walked in I had explained that I ordered a cake online and gave the girl at the register my last name. After waiting 15 minutes (I was running short on time) the girl comes from the back and asks me if I called in or if anyone else called in and cancelled the order, because sure enough the order was cancelled. After freaking out a little the girl told me that she could give me the cake I ordered and that it was probably a mistake on their part, BUT that it would take 20 minutes for the frosting to set on the cake. Nope no time. As I told her I didn't have enough time she said she would refund me my money but that that would take some time to do also. One of the guys who was at the register told me that he could actually get the frosting applied quickly and that he would get me out of there in no time. As I waited for 15 MORE MINUTES the girl who spoke to me about refunding me my money came out from the back again and told me that she was actually able to find my information online and that it was 100 percent their fault and that it was cancelled on their part. Then she asked me if I still wanted the cake, which I thought was getting frosted the whoooole time I was waiting. I wanted to scream and walk out but instead I said forget it I don't want my cake or my money back. And I also missed my dinner reservation. The only reason why this place gets at least ONE star is because the manager called me the next day saying that they found my information and ended up making me my cake which I had to pick up the next day. So I just went into this business. I was next in line after this guy keeping my 6 foot distance when this lady came in. She asked if I was in line. I said yes then she continued to jump ahead of me anyway and the employee said nothing even though she saw me waiting. Normally I would say something, but this worker was so blase, I don't think she cared. Someone was working in the back, but they didn't come out even though there were now people behind me and out the door. This is how it is in many places now. At my work we have to all help customers and then do other things when the customers leave. Now, this is the norm. Employees lacking skills or not caring and having to pay for what you don't want. What a waste to the environment with these bags. I guess I should have picked another day to come here instead of a day where the door was open the entire time even before the guy went in. The flies were all swarming around inside. The lady said the price of the cakes went up so now you pay $5.50 cake. They started to charge 25 cents when they gave the cakes in the bags and said it was the bag cost now they deny it.
