Haven't ordered from Baskin Robbin's in ages! I couldn't get my usual hurricane from Handel's so I thought I'd try a banana split from Baskin Robbin's. I used to love them! I was able to order 3 different ice creams with 3 different toppings and my hot fudge came in its own container! Very thoughtful. It was delicious. I'd honestly just like to add the order of the ice cream with which topping on top of which scoop! I'm extra! But for real- it seemed the only chocolate scoop in the sundae was the only one with no topping so that's where the hot fudge had to go. I would've preferred the hot fudge over the mint chip or the cherry. Haha. But that's me! Other than that- it was a fab sundae and I'll order again unless any hurricanes come back! The other location called me 1 hour before I was supposed to pick it up and said they cannot complete my order. If you would like to see my review of the other location on Fletcher Parkway, please look at it before you consider which location to order your cake from. The employee, Vanessa, at this location, on 2nd Street in El Cajon on 2nd Street, was polite, kind, empathetic, and helpful. She apologized for my experience at the other location, and expedited my order. She took into account my daughter's tree nut allergy and created a perfect cake. Folks Ive eating here three times and say a few things to point out. First no one in the place where gloves or masks and the service is horrible. Have a smile on your face and atleast be cordial to your loyal customers. Will never come here again. Workers are crass and all had long hair, and two of them kept playing with their long pony tails, no gloves then handled containers. Cake was slightly pricy but overall it tasted great. The inside had chocolate cake and mint chocolate chip on the top part. I really liked that the border was fudge and that when I placed the order I asked that baseball nut be placed in between the Oreos which they did. Did you know that they have these $2 parfaits with soft served vanilla ice cream which they blend up with your choice of chocolate bar be it Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Heath Bar, etc.? I want to thank Lara for being very professional, understanding and having great customer service. I came in and got a cake from the floor freezer, the cake was marked mint chocolate chip. When the time came to have cake, it ended up being strawberry. Honestly the first time this has happened in 10 years of getting ice cream cakes. They were about to close when we found out and I needed to get a replacement ASAP. Lara was very helpful and understanding. I know it wasn't their fault and she did apologize for the mistake. I am blown away by my experience here. It's truly sad the way to OWNER, Paul treats people. I ordered a cake on line. I have the email that very clearly stated what I ordered (see attached) a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. I picked up the cake at 6pm and went directly to the dinner party I had planned for my son. The party was at a restaurant. By the time we ate dinner and cut into the cake it was past 9pm. When we cut into it, I quickly realized it was all wrong. We were given vanilla cake with cookies and cream ice cream. Unfortunately my son (who's birthday it was) doesn't like vanilla cake or cookies and cream ice cream. However I proceeded to serve the cake to the rest of my party. Since it was after 9pm, we were on the other side of town and I had a table of 10 people waiting to eat cake...it seemed logical. I called the store this morning and had the pleasure of speaking to Paul. He very rudely told me that is CRAZY that I would expect ANY type of refund or ANYTHING because the cake was consumed and I didn't return the entire thing to the store. So imagine....your at a bday party. You sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles..the whole shebang. Then the cake is cut and the host says...."sorry guys, you can't eat this....I need to return it to BR" I wonder if that is what Paul would do???? Not to mention it was past 9pm and we were on the other side of town. I would have been happy if he offered me half a refund or even a coupon for next time. We have been going to this location since it opened several years ago but I can honestly say....Paul you lost business from this family and I'll definitely be spreading the word. Today I went around 2 o'clock to order a cake for my son. I told them I could pick it up around 6. Imagine my surprise when I send my daughter to pick it up and they don't have it. Thankfully they were able to replace it but they had four hours to call and tell me that they don't have the exact one I had paid for. Fake ass Rick flair lookin owner was no help and had to be sure to tell me he is the owner, I mean unless you gonna help shut your trap...ALSO the girl who originally helped me she was super sweet. I had a coupon that was told by an employee of that store that I could use my coupon as long as I wanted as long as it scanned. Even told me I was "lucky" to use it even after expiration. They refuse to take it and gave me extreme hell about it. I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Like I was bothering them. I wanted to cry. Dollah' Scoops Tuesday is the best thing of the Summer Weeks!! This 31 Flavors has stayed in EC throughout all the ups and downs our fine city has seen, it is a staple mark to our wonderful Second Street Fast Food Row! Other than Sprouts, its the only place I go to on that Street! When you walk in its cold, frigid , ice polar cap cold! I love it ! It smells sweet and clean, it is also very very clean inside. AS soon as you walkin you are always greeted by a very tiny little Filipino lady or a random 16 year old. Don't know if the little lady is the Manager or Owner, but she sure is good at what she does in that store! She is always nice and smiling, and gives kids samples til there on ice cream overload before they even get there scoop! 1 Scoop of Peanut butter & Chocolate +1 Scoop of Makin Cookies+ a Waffle cone all for $3 of this fantastic wonderfully usually expensive ice cream can make anybodies Tuesday evening divine! In the middle of my errands, I thought it would be nice to get a scoop of ice cream for a dollar since we've been hearing about Dollar Tuesdays for along time now. 1 out of 2 bad customer service experience at a 31 flavors in two days... Ok let me start off with saying it's Monday evening and me and my girlfriend have coupons for 2$ dollars off thanks to tmobile Tuesday. We walk into this location and ask the girl working behind the counter if we can use these coupons she replies yes. So we pick out what we want get our cones and make our way to the register where the employee decides all of a sudden to not except the coupon for the ice cream. After about three minutes of conversation about how we are not able to all of a sudden can not use this coupon we decided that we didn't want the ice cream anymore and told the employee. Then out of nowhere she says no it's not a big deal I'll take the coupon we gave her back the ice cream and decide to leave. Number one don't sit there and say you will expect a coupon then change your mind and then change it back afterwards giving us a hard time and insulting our intelligence. Number two just because we look different then most people doesn't mean you should treat us differently. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Have been here before and service is usually slow, but it's the only one in my area so I stop by occasionally. Today, however, will be my last visit to this establishment. I called to verify hours and the 31st of the month special prices before venturing out. When I arrived there were several people waiting outside to get in - due to the virus there was a sign stating only 4 customers allowed inside at a time. Through the window we could see 8 customers inside but once it got to be our turn to go in, they told us to go back outside because there were already 4 people inside. So that was a bit annoying (the inconsistency in their "rule" enforcement) but we complied. Once inside, we waited at least another 10min while they completed other orders. Finally it was our turn! After the long wait (out in the sun and then inside) my husband and I both decided we deserved double scoops, and we placed our order. When it came time to pay the girl told me it would be $10.98. I reminded her that it was the 31st and it was suppose to be $1.70 per scoop; and as I told her this I pointed out the numerous signs on the windows and door of the shop. She told me that "due to COVID19 they were not doing that right now." I told her that I had called to verify the special, and told her they also have signs all over the windows and door advertising the special, so she needed to honor it. She said her boss told them they aren't doing it, and she seemed incapable of understanding the concept of false advertising. I realize she's an inexperienced young gal, and she was not equipped to override whatever the shop manager/owner instructed her to do, so it's not really her fault. The blame is on that shop manager/owner for using COVID19 as an excuse not to honor an advertised special - even though that person knows full well that the special draws in customers. The advertising posters could have easily been taken down, but the fact that they weren't seemed deliberate and deceiving. Also, whoever verified over the phone that they were in fact still doing the 31st of the month specials was either blatantly not telling the truth in order not to lose a customer, or only part of the staff was actually informed on the matter. Was $10.98 going to break the bank? No. But I refuse to be the victim of fraud, and have no intention of supporting a business that uses a pandemic as an opportunity to deceive it's customers.
