Nourish has been on my radar for quite some time, but I never find myself in this area. I also had no idea they moved to the Italian Market, but I was pleasantly surprised when wandering the market on Saturday with a couple friends and we stumbled upon Nourish! I opted for the vegan fried chicken platter for $14 which is 3 healthy pieces of fried enoki mushrooms, mac and cheese and sauteed kale. What a GENIUS way to treat enoki mushrooms. I've always had them in soups or stewed, but never thought to deep fry these bad boys. I was blown away by how crispy, delicious these mushrooms were! The stringy texture of enoki mushrooms lent it well to being like the fake strips of muscle you rip off in chicken tenders/fried chicken. The sauteed kale and mac and cheese were both good, but nothing to write home about. I had a great first experience, and I was torn between a ton of other menu items. JUST WOW. Soo good. To get vegan food this good and this cozy is not common. I ordered the fried mushrooms that came with mac and cheese and greens. The greens were super flavored. But complimented the mac and cheese and mushrooms. The Mushroom "chick'n" was perfect... it was just delicious fried goodness. SOOO GOOD. We also tried the faux filly cheese steak and it was phenomenal as well. Not sure what gluten nuggets are but it was good. Peppers and onions decorated this goodness. Wonderful spit we stumbled across while at the butchers and black own. I tried out there smoothie, and it was so darn good. I finished it so fast I was going to order another one. If you're looking for a vegan restaurant that doesn't heavily rely on soy products come to Nourish. If you're a new vegan or just want to eat something healthy, come to Nourish. Unfortunately I only discovered Nourish a couple of weeks ago. I have truly been missing out on really great vegan food. I stopped by on the weekend and the place was packed! I ordered a Divine Dish which gives you the option to pick 3 to 5 items which is great if you're trying to get an idea of the kind of food they offer. I had the teriyaki steak, Mac and cheese, butternut squash and quinoa. It was amazing. The steak was made from vital wheat gluten and well seasoned. It was a nice balance of sweet and salty. The Mac and cheese was good as well and didn't taste of nutritional yeast which really is an acquired taste. My friend ordered the "crab cake" sandwich and she really enjoyed it. It was a special so they don't offer it on a regular basis. Overall my experience was amazing. The staff is so professional and helpful and they don't rush you to make a decision. Oh I almost forgot! Try to Jamaican patties! Doesn't matter the flavor they're all good. No it won't taste like a traditional beef patty but it's still good! read more

Went to Nourish after I got my 2nd Pfizer shot and had some free time. I got the chickun platter. If anyone doesn't know what Nourish is, it's a plant based vegan food spot. This was so good! It was enoki mushrooms! Yes the texture and the look can fool you unless you have a good eye and pallette. The chickun came with vegan Mac and cheese and sautéed kale. It was delish and I was blown away by how much it came for a cost of $14. Had to take the rest home. Will be coming here again to try other items on the menu. Vegan comfort food, fresh juice/smoothies. Got the chick'un cheesteak, which is their popular fried vegan chicken on a roll with vegan cheese, onions, peppers, and ketchup. It's not "healthy", but it was satisfying and hit the spot for a fried chicken sandwich. Very crispy and crunchy crust on the chick'un, likely double fried, but not greasy. And huge--I could only eat half with a juice. I'm curious to come back, but not often as it's a little expensive in my opinion. A juice was $7. The place is very nice, atmospher-wise. UMMM...YES. I went here for the first time today and I was blown away!!! The food is absolutely delicious. Flavorful, NOT boring, interesting and the meat "substitutes" were phenomenal! I had the "scallops" (literally made from mushrooms but the same texture as a real scallop) and the fried chicken platter. The "chicken" was phenomenal I could not get over how it shredded like real chicken. The mac and cheese was good and sautéed kale also good. I literally cannot wait to go back and try more. If I could do 6 stars I would. A small group of us got together in the DiBrunos courtyard along 9th. The group started with wine but eventually realized the herd needed to be fed. The group was one vegan, a vegetarian, and two omnivores. So we pulled up Yelp. Nourish was right across the street and checked all the boxes. So I took the order and walked over. Fresh squeezed juices, veggie cheese steaks, fried mushrooms and a chick'n sandwich. The food was absolutely delicious. This might be my new favorite fake cheese steak. I got the Philly Jawn. The sandwiches are huge. A normal person can pack themselves to the gills for $12. I will be back. In fact if I lived down there I think I'd make these two things habit. I love this place so much. I loved it so much it was my first visit on Tuesday and we're going back with friends on Sunday. The fried mushrooms were to die for and I got the chicken platter... I wish I took one to go and when I'm there on Sunday I definitely will be getting a few. I wasn't sure how it would taste when it was colder and it was just as good. The employees were so sweet and the owner came over and asked us how we were doing with everything was okay. We will definitely be making this a regular stop. Found Nourish after a youtube video by JL Jupiter. It's nestled in the Italian market. The other 'Nourish Philly' from Google Maps is a nutritionist on Passyunk. There was indoor dining during my March 2021 visit, but I ordered for takeout. Staff and patrons were wearing masks throughout except at tables which was good. My Philly cheesesteak with what looks like seitan and vegan cheese was huge ($12). The only downside was the extreme saltiness. I couldn't eat the whole thing in one go. (Pro-tip: toast it in an air fryer!) Next time, I'll request it with less cheese to hopefully cut down on the sodium. Conflicted with this review -- I have been here many times over the past two years and there is some really delicious food. The ambiance is great, the staff is friendly, no complaints there. But the one problem I have consistently had is the wait time. I have only eaten in the restaurant twice and both times we waited more than 30 minutes to receive our food. Every other time I've ordered has been takeout and with each instance my food has not been ready by the 30 minutes timeline they give you. On my two my recent visits I waited for more than an hour to get my order (which has been one sandwich). It sucks because I enjoy the food and want to support this local business, but the wait kills me. Sometimes it has been because they're visibly busy and were behind on orders, which I can understand, but it's happened so frequently that I can't help but feel like something needs to shift to get a smoother flow of production. Really goooood wholesome vegan food. Ordered the garden of life smoothie and the large portion of sides (mac n cheese, jerk styled protein, Alfredo beans, squash and zucchini). Portion size was good and each had its own distinct flavor that could stand on its own. The jerk definitely had a kick so beware but it paired well with the Mac n cheese. The smoothie tasted great, pretty standard for a smoothie. I definitely want to try the mushroom sandwich next time, that seems to be a favorite. Only side note to be aware of, I went during COVID and most of the staff were not wearing masks. About half had it on their face but not covering their mouth/nose and the other half didn't have it all. There was a large clear glass face covering between the register and ordering but still made me feel a little uncomfortable. read more

I give this dish 3 Stars. Enoki Mushroom battered & fried perfectly. It has a good crunch & texture. Vegan Mac & Cheese was simply delicious !! I was disappointed with the Sauteed Kale, It was TOO SALTY !! I found it to be inedible, Which is why I gave it an average rating. It's Tradition Pizza - This delicious Pizza consist of a nice Multi-grain crust with marinara sauce, red onion, green peppers, and vegan sausage with vegan cheese. This Pizza is one of my Favorites !!! My only critique would be the Vegan cheese. Vegan cheese tends to have a unique taste which is not bad, but I don't care for a lot of it. If I were to order this Pizza again, I would request Light amount of cheese. Hand's down 4.5 Stars. Philly Jawn Sandwich - A Cheesesteak that is plant base gluten steak, with onions, & peppers on a whole wheat roll. Tasted so good, the roll was soft & it had a little spice to it, but good nevertheless. I prefer it with no Vegan Mayonnaise with light Vegan cheese. I give it a Solid 4 stars !! I wanted to try this place after watching a segment on ABC's FYI Philly; I cannot recall what I saw in the segment that made me want to try because after seeing the segment, my hubby had me watch a YouTube review of the restaurant... The restaurant is located at the corner of 7th and South so you can't miss it... (Tip: Park on Bainbridge to guarantee finding a place to park and finding it quickly). When my hubby and I walked into the restaurant it was crowded (it's small inside) however, our orders were taken quickly and with everything going on (phone ringing, taking customer orders and communicating with the cooks), the woman behind the counter kept a pleasant demeanor and our orders were accurate! EXCELLENT job on customer service!!! About the food... I ordered "That Philly Jawn" (vegan cheesesteak) and my hubby ordered the "Fried Chick'un Sandwich"... Our food may have taken about 15 mins, which was not bad considering the volume of customers in the store at that time... Presentation of the food was great the taste of the Philly Jawn was amazing! This was only the second place that I've had a vegan cheesesteak from (previously I've only ordered the vegan chicken cheesesteak them from Govinda's, which I loved). The Philly Jawn was filling and flavorful... I tasted the Chick'un sandwich and did not like it at all - perhaps it was the half of the sandwich that my hubby shared with me but all I could taste in the sandwich was the fried batter and the fixings on the sandwich but no "Chick'un"... I also purchased Vegan Chocolate Chip Pecan cookies and they were DELICIOUS! I definitely recommend trying Nourish... Ordered 10 cheesesteaks a day ahead - got one. Restaurant told me to call Grubhub, Grubhub said tough they can only refund. This was for people that were already at the lunch and are vegan. I call the restaurant and they said all they can do is refund and I said that doesn't help and leaves me in a terrible spot. I've had my eye on Nourish for some time now but don't live in the area so it took me a while. But today I stopped in, really friendly staff and a nice little chill spot to read a book or meet for lunch. I ordered the vegan fried chickun platter and I'd rate it a 6/10 but remember this is coming from a non-vegan. My fried mushroom was crispy and had a nice stringy texture similar to chicken--I added some hot sauce to mines cause that's my business. But the flavor was on point; a little too much for me after a while as the portion sizes were very generous and the fried-ness was slightly heavy. But the kale I felt was nicely prepared and taste pretty good as well as the mac and cheese. My boyfriend didn't care for his Buffalo and bbq wings however as he's not big on mushroom and his were a lot more fat and squishy, kinda hard to digest if you're not mushroom crazy but he said the sauce was a nice touch and the coating was seasoned well just got soggy on the way home and would probably taste better had he gotten the sauce on the side. I also picked up the gava and peach pineapple juice--Both didn't taste like much of anything--The gava taste like water and the peach pineapple you could taste very subtly. My favorite part was the dessert honestly, the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie is very soft and delicious and the oatmeal cookie was chewy and sweet like a cinnamon bun--Both I highly recommend. Thanks Nourish; I'm a pescatarian but I dip and dabble with my plant based options from time to time and I can say I will be back to try some other menu items. I follow JL Jupiter a foodie blogger who visited Nourish. His video featured the un chicken sandwich made from a mushroom and the philly Jean cheese steak. I'm vegetarian and always looking for a good vegan restaurant. I visited Nourish on a Sunday do to lighter traffic on the world famous South Street. There was parking available on the street. I ordered my food along with a smoothie with sea moss. The wait was a bit long because the food is delicious. I really enjoyed the un chicken sandwich and the philly jaws cheese steak. The smoothie was good but I need to get use to sea moss. It has a strong taste. I have visited 3x and every time the food is delicious. The owner is so nice. She is extremely busy but always speaks and remembers me. They also sell fresh squeezed juices and health products. They sell ice cream along with baked goods. I've tried a few baked goods and they are good especially the home made cinnamon buns. They can't keep them in stock. The establishment is small. They have a few tables outside because of COVID. There was no eating inside when I visited but u can wait inside. I can't wait to visit again. read more

The place is a small restaurant with a more take out look. I was looking for something else but saw the delicious banana walnut cake and veggie patties. Both were delicious. The choice of Jamaican Vegetarian Patties were impressive and top notch. But the nice to young man at register was pleasant and friendly but he had no idea what coco-bread was. And i did not see scotch bonnet yellow sauce for the patties. But it was delicious. So i changed dinner plans to have the wonderful food I bought and I was glad. Thank for dinner. read more
