Think she seems fine but I don't believe she really values parents' time (or $?!). I brought my toddler here for a routine checkup awhile back and at every flinch, Dr Ghajari insisted my child wasn't ready and to bring her back in a few weeks. I eventually stopped going because I felt like my visits were being stretched out too much. I understand that kids get traumatized by dentist and certainly don't want that. But I felt Dr Ghajari wasn't willing to do much per visit and I don't have the time or the insurance coverage to stretch out each routine visit into 2-3 separate visits when my child had no dental issues whatsoever - just needed a totally routine biannual checkup and cleaning! Dr Ghajari is very good with the kids. She talks to them and explains the checkup or procedure, to help ease the young patients. She tells us what the options are and recommends the best treatment for the kids. The staff is courteous. The office is a haven, with massage chairs in the back section for parents. iPads in the front area for the kids, and puzzles and books for the toddlers. There is a wait (most of the time), so allocate enough time in your schedule. Since we started coming to Dr Ghajari over 5 years ago, my kids don't dread or fear visits to the Dentist office or chair. The visits are painless, they get to play the iPad in the waiting area, enjoy a dvd in the dental chair, get tokens for the toy dispenser machine at the end of the visit and pick a fun drink from their mini fridge. For as long as I can remember, Dr. Ghajari has been my dentist. My sisters and I have been coming to her since we started sprouting teeth, and I dread (now about 20 years later) to soon have to go to anyone else. Every visit, I ask if I can still stay here. (haha) She is the nicest, sweetest, considerate most detail-oriented person, and I can't imagine anyone else taking care of my teeth. She really cares for her patients. Not only that, she's such a great dentist! As I've grown, I had teeth whitening and Invisalign done without having to go anywhere else(!) which is amazing since who wants to go to multiple places? An Incredibly Dishonest Dentist Who Lives in a Fantasy World. As a parent, I want to know when you can do the procedure and how much is costs. This is the result of a recent phone call from Dr. Ghajari about her rates... We are repeat patients. "How much is an extraction, Dr Ghajari? I don't know because I am not at my computer. Shall I wait? I can have my assistants let you know next week. Your assistants don't answer emails. Could you tell me now? Sir, I think you are unhappy with my staff. No, Dr Ghajari, your staff does what you tell them to do. So how much is next week's extraction? Well, you know, I help so many children and everyone loves me...yes, agreed, Dr Ghajari. And how much is the extraction please? I really don't know..." If you want to play games with the dentist and her "staff", Dr Ghajari is the dentist for you. TL;DR Find another pediatric dentist if your baby less than two years old needs to a tongue tie surgery. We were referred by our pediatrician to Dr. Noushin Ghajari for a tongue tie surgery. We visited her clinic when the baby was about three months old. The doctor successfully convinced us to wait for our little baby to grow older to do the surgery then and suggested us to revisit the clinic and do the surgery when the baby is about nine months. We made an appointment with her assistant for a surgery on a Saturday afternoon so that the doctor can have a dedicated quiet period of time for the surgery and both parents can be present when the baby is nine months old. But we had to wait until the baby was over one year old before we had the chance to revisit the clinic again because all the early Saturday appointments were booked as we were told by her office assistant. The doctor attempted to convince us again that the baby did not need a surgery and she would like to check the baby when he is 3-5 year old before deciding if a surgery is necessary. It is not the answer that is acceptable to me after having waited for over half a year and being expected to wait for another 3-5 years. As a extrovert person, I may have raised my voice after hearing that our expected surgery is not to be done. But the doctor said that I yelled at her, which seems to be an overreact. Anyway I questioned the doctor 1) if she was ready for doing a surgery procedure before we left our home and headed to her clinic and 2) if she has done any tongue tie surgery for kids before. For 1), the doctor gave us two reasons why she can not do the surgery. None of them is acceptable to me. The first reason is that she said that the baby was moving and crying and she can not torture the baby. For this, she has already missed the best time for the surgery when the baby is quiet and only three months old. For a doctor who claimed to have practiced for twenty years, she should have expected this when a surgery is to be done for a baby that is one year old. If she can not handle that why she did not do the surgery earlier when the baby is little and does not move a lot. The second reason is understandable but not acceptable either. She said she can not do the surgery without seeing the baby after our last visit (almost 1 year ago). There is serious communication issue among her assistant, her and us. When we made the appointment, we explicitly mentioned that the appointment is to be made for a surgery and an entire afternoon has been reserved for us for the surgery. We expected to have the tongue tie surgery done the second time we visited the clinic. But after a second thought, I recalled that her assistant only vaguely confirmed our appointment and did not explicitly mentioned the surgery when we double checked with her about it before we left our home and headed towards the clinic. That is the tricky part which gave the doctor a good reason to not to do a surgery and persuade us to come back to her clinic again. For 2), the doctor showed some photos to my wife. But all of them are for elder kids and none of them is related to tongue tie surgery. She admitted that she has not done any tongue tie surgery for kids less than two years in her clinic before and she only did such kind of surgery when she was in a hospital. Overall, I feel that the doctor is afraid of doing surgery for a newborn baby and her best advice for parents is waiting until the baby grows elder and start language development and most importantly have some self control. We have to find another pediatric dentist for the tongue tie surgery as I feel that Dr. Noushin Ghajari is either capable nor willing to do that for our kid. read more

There seems to be a pattern developing here. Even though we moved out of the area a few years ago, we are willing to travel almost an hour to see Dr. Ghajari. Without any question she is a superstar with children, most especially our special needs daughter who will barely let us brush her teeth at home. Yet, when in the soft hands of Dr. Ghajari she is as calm as can be, even allowing metal instruments in her mouth. It's really remarkable to watch! We are so thankful! read more

Love her, love her, love her! We drive 25 minutes to see her (we used to live in Fort Lee, but moved). She is as gentle and kind as they get, talks soothingly to kids the whole time with no surprises. Gives sound advice, always prefacing with, "if it were my child, I would..." and more often than not, the advice doesn't push for an expensive procedure or any procedure at all if it's not extreme. She is very careful to use the least amount of anesthesia necessary and her patients are calm and comfortable. She really has the best interests of the kids at heart. Plus a TV in the exam room with DVD's to pick from (my daughter is terrified of most kids' stuff, but managed to find a Blues Clues Valentine's Day DVD that made her happy). I moved to the area about 6 years ago lol, but kept going to the Bronx for my children's pediatric dentist which they had been going since they were little babies! I was nervous to find that same quality and trust but I have to say OMG! Dr. Ghajari is truly truly a wonderful dentist. She is so knowledgeable, so warm, and gentle with the children and makes the visit not only pleasant for the kids but relaxing for parents with coffee and massage chairs!!!! Dr. Ghajari is sweet talking you and your kid. Her speech appears both affected and stagy. She seems to be a good dentist, your kid is happy, why should you care? You start caring when you realize you are paying more for her services that you are supposed to. You start getting upset when her ostentatious secretary gives you the talk of her life, without a flinch. You ask: why this extra fee? She tells you that actually you are paying less that you should pay, because they do you a favor. RED FLAG! Nobody does that. When you call your insurance you finally understand you were tricked into paying more. They signed a contract with your insurance and agree to not charge more, but oops, they are doing you a favor! The ostentatious secretary is not impressed that you want your money back, but in the end you get them. Don't forget that you can always file a complain with your insurance carrier, and they care about that. read more

I love how gentle and soothing Dr. Ghajari is with my kids (3 and 6). We've been seeing her for years now and she is so responsive with emergencies and my kids relax in her office and leave as happy as clams with their little goodies from her post-visit toy vending machine. LOVE the TV's in the exam rooms that kids can CHOOSE a DVD for (crucial for my daughter who is scared of all movies except a very select few and she was so happy to find a Blue's Clues on in Dr. Ghajari's collection and was completely distracted through the whole procedure!) Dr. Ghajari uses digital x-rays (less radiation) and doesn't pressure me into doing any treatments (her attitude is always, "if this were my child, I would..." and I believe she really is sincere) and even her treatments are so much gentler than other pediatric dentists I've been to - no unnecessarily extreme sedation or anything that poses extra risk to the child. It's a pleasure to see her and my kids have been trained by experiences at her office to be excellent and calm dental patients! Can't say enough about how much we love her! read more
