We frequent this Starbucks pretty regularly. Drinks are always made exactly as you want them and super quickly. Maybe we're lucky, but we live about 5 minutes away and I don't remember ever waiting for my drink. Baristas are super friendly without being overbearing. Our go-to drinks are mango dragonfruit refreshers, green tea frappuccinos, and blonde vanilla lattes. Some places make the mango dragonfruit refreshers too sweet. Not here! Our drinks are always perfect! I generally like to support local businesses, so I tried to make Tusk & Cup work for me on several occasions. And yet another place to cross off my list. Poorly run, no focus on being friendly to the customer. Today was a case in point. I walked in and there was NO one in line and only one person waiting for the barista. Ok, I should be able to get out quickly. Some days it is so packed I just walk out. So the server behind the counter ignores me for a while while she organizes something. I got that, but at least say "be right with you". Nope. So I place my order. Again there is NO ONE ahead of me. After a few minutes of waiting, I just walked out. Apparently the coffee person was working on a call in order of some magnitude. No effort to start my drink or even say something like "It will be a few minutes, sorry". Did not even look to see if I was there. The $4.73 was not worth any more of my time, I just left. This location is great! There's enough room and it's always clean, including the bathrooms. It's perfect for working and hang out, specially in the evenings, the mornings are always busy but so far, I've seen that the line often goes fast. After ten minutes and a second check-in, I went into the store, hoping that my coffee was ready and they just didn't have time to bring it out. I was told by the extremely unhelpful barista that not only was it NOT ready, but it wouldn't be ready anytime soon. By this time, I was running late for work, so I asked if I could just cancel. Sure, just wait in that long line for the cashier. I had to leave, not getting the coffee that I had already paid for. I sent a complaint and heard nothing. This is very disgusting place. If you are not ritzy Caucasian, you will be treated like free loader. In early 2000, I used to stop by often on the way to work. Back then, Starbucks are scarce and not badly commercialized. Service was pleasant, bakery goods were excellent. Now, bakery goods are worse than Grocery bakery, Beverage quality is below par. Worse thing is more than twice, I was treated like unwanted. Several moths ago, my drink order was pushed aside to tend their favorite(?) customers. I stopped going there. A few days ago, I need to stop for bathroom. It was filthy. I could not dare to go bathroom because homeless person took the whole area near the bathroom and felt unsafe. Still, out of courtesy, I ordered my usual drink. The cashier was rude and obscene. She acted like she does not understand my English and made me repeat the order several times. Yes, I am not a Caucasian, but I lived in this country for longer than double of her age, I am educated and obtained highest graduate degree from a top 15 University in USA. I worked for a major company in an executive position until retired. When I got the drink, it shrank! I ordered "Venti", but I was given "tall". I told Barista about wrong size. She said she would make it again. I was waiting. She was making other drinks before fixing mine. Then, she poured my old drink got chilled into a Venti cup and pour extra milk and joe. It tasted awful! My husband did not touch it after one sip. I almost temped pour into her apron. But I just walked out. Those people working there are not a human in my opinion. Those people tarnish the image of USA and Starbucks. I do not know how Starbucks hired people like those two girls. Why the manager did not train them properly? Of all the Starbucks in the area, I like this one best. Westport downtown and New Canaan and Norwalk Rte 7 don't have much of a feeling to them. The Wilton one has the most hometown feeling. Norwalk Rte.7 gets a lot of transient commuter business, and Westport is an assembly line. While it does get busy in Wilton at peak times like many Starbucks, the off hours have a nice calm feeling. Service is variable like all the Starbucks and therefore fairly reliable thal way. read more
