This is a great place to get burgers and milkshakes. I highly recommend getting the Smokehouse burger. It is very trendy compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood. Prices are very fair. One of my gripes with Novelty Eats is that it can be inconsistent, especially when it comes to the milkshakes. You often have to ask them to make the shake thick or else it gets a little watery in terms of consistency. When they do get it right, no other shake can compare. Additionally, wait times can be excessive when the place is packed at night. A friend and I had to wait at least a half hour to get our order of milkshakes and mozzarella sticks. Some of the other food I have ordered at Novelty has been pretty average including the fries, mozzarella sticks, and the wraps. I ordered the Jasper Jones wrap once while with family. The wrap was so hot that I could not start eating it until everyone else had finished eating their meal. Nonetheless, I'll still be coming back for the burgers. read more

I have to say this is a really exciting restaurant for this part of the Bronx, however they're off to a rough start with just opening. We got there around 7:20 and quickly ordered milkshakes and then our order a few minutes later. We only received ONE of our milkshakes around 7:45 and the others arrived with the rest of our food at 8:15. The owner came over to tell us that the beyond burger was handmade and that's why it was taking so long but an hour later? didn't seem remotely right. Our waitress kept reminding them how long we were waiting and watched all the other tables get their food before us despite ordering waaaay after us. They also waited until they brought our food to tell us they didn't have parts of our order and that they ran out. The food was a 7/10 ... the service was a 2/10. Would we come back? Not anytime soon, but might attempt to give it a try in a few months once it's gotten everything together. read more

Recently went here on a quick lunch date and I have to say the food is really good! I've been wanting to try the IMPOSSIBLE BURGER and this place has it! The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because fries are a separate order and are about 3-4 dollars extra. So the bill does add up! Be mindful of that! They also have lemonade, which was nice and refreshing! Ate here on 5/14/2019 with my kids to celebrate my daughters bday. We love it. Service was excellent and the food was great. My daughter was wearing an birthday badge and the waitress took it upon herself to discreetly ask me if she could bring her cake. That was a sweet detail. If I had the choice to save exactly one underrated restaurant during the pandemic, it's this one! Over the past year, I've tried multiple menu items from Novelty Eats and each one delivered quality and flavor. My favorites are the nachos, which are some of the best I've ever had, and the fish tacos, which has a medly of fresh, creamy, and acidic flavors all wrapped to become much greater than the sum of its parts. Looking at the menu, there is not really anything that couldn't be found on most other restaurants, but the level of food preparation that they put into each item is just out of this world! I hope that they're getting a lot of business - I'd truly be heartbroken if I heard they closed down. read more

This place has it all! Burgers, tacos, pizzas, wraps, milkshakes. You name, and they probably have it! I ordered a Tex Mex pizza. You could tell the avocado was fresh, and the pizza was delicious. Another person in my group ordered the veggie wrap and thought it was fantastic. The employees add a slice of lime to the water and soda glasses, which is a fun surprise (if you like lime). While my party chose to eat inside the restaurant today, we saw the wait staff bag and give out many carry out orders, so give this a try if carry out is more your style. The only reason I gave this location 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think they could have benefitted from additional staff. They had 3 employees working- 2 were cooking and the third was in charge of waiting tables, answering the phone, assembling carry out orders, and interacting with the carry out customers (and like I mentioned, they do a large carry out business). We waited 10-15 minutes on our drinks just because she was so busy doing everything else. She was incredibly hard working; I just think she would have benefited from one more person helping with waiting tables or carry out orders. Overall, this restaurant is fantastic though! read more

My friend and I were craving a burger and she recommended we finally check this place out. If this is one of those places you walk by and eventually plan to go to, I highly recommend checking it out. Atmosphere is cute and cozy but it still has a fast food feel. Great as a hang out spot with friends or going alone. There are plenty of food options, even some that aren't listed on yelp or the website. We went for the burgers but it was hard to ignore everything else. We asked our waitress for a recommendation and everything she recommend sounded delicious. I went with the steakhouse burger with onion rings on the side. Burger came out quickly and cooked perfectly, they even included some delicious sauce for the onion rings. I'm so curious what else they have to offer and so ready to go back. Amazing healthy burgers .. great prices ... you can taste that the burger is made out of ground meat and padded .. nor like the frozen burgers from a box.. it wasn't salty it was perfect and straight to the point .. we also had nachos which u can customize your own nachos based on your liking ... We came here for brunch on. Sunday . The place was very empty. The decor was very nice but the tables are really small . The waitress was nice and informed us that they were trying a new brunch menu on the weekends. The brunch menu was $14.95 per person with Bellinis / mimosas .I ordered chicken and pecan pancakes- big portion flavor was ok I also ordered the Bellini nice Mason glass but it was not tasty. My boyfriend ordered steak and eggs and a Mimosa, we've had better. The steak was really hard and his eggs were runny , the order also comes with roasted red potatoes which were way over cooked . He did not enjoy his meal . The waitress was nice enough to ask us our opinion on the food so that she can share with the Chef for improvement which I thought was pretty cool . I decided to try this place out because it's super aesthetically alluring, really cozy modern camp vibes. The service was great. But I ordered nachos with "mixed cheese" and lamb. When my food arrived, I salivated at how delicious it looked. But Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. The lamb was way too chewy and was not seasoned well. It left a raw taste in my mouth that got me super nauseous. They gave the option on the menu of "mixed" cheese or cotija cheese. I'm here thinking mixed cheese is the default shredded white and yellow (mixed) cheese. The nachos came with melted cheddar cheese that tasted super salty and artificial. It was ridiculously watered down. I could have gargled a bite of it if I wanted to. The bean purée were good though. To wash that taste from my mouth I ordered an oreo shake and that was a good, basic shake, nothing to write home about though. Aside this they're really overpriced. $18 for nachos and a shake. I hope other shop owners take a lesson on how to make a place look and feel like they care. Go eat here if you want to eat very good food. Update: Pricing has gone up, but the food is not consistent. Sliders for example should not cost 11.95 WTF! Different size every time and different buns used. The turkey burger is an embarrassment that tastes very bad. That should be removed from the menu. I really don't like to slam a place I like, but wake up and have menu items stay consistent like opening day. Also it is a bonus to have items still warm when it is time to eat. I came here with my boyfriend as we were looking for a new takeout spot and the food here is delicious! There are not a lot of places in this neighborhood with good takeout food and this place is a home run! We came in looking to get our food to go and we decided to stay because we liked the atmosphere. Great variety on the menu, quality and fresh ingredients, and helpful staff! We got the build your own nachos and the beyond burger and both were super yummy. Georgi and Andrena were attentive and friendly, making sure we were taken care of and enjoying our food (which we definitely were) and even making sure the music was on point. I ordered their black bean burger (meh), veggie wrap (bland), fries (ok), sweet potato fries (ok), truffle fries (I ordered this without cheese but they still gave me cheese so it's in the trash), and the onion rings (inedible. I specifically requested the milkshake be thick, because I saw Yelp reviews saying they were hit and miss with their consistency. When it arrived, it was so watery, it was practically juice. I wish I'd thought about this review before inhaling my burger so that I could have also uploaded a picture. I work in an office down the block from Novelty Eat, and we all ordered lunch today. We were all PLEASANTLY surprised with our food and how delicious it was. We ordered our food and picked it up in about 20 minutes. Almost everything was correct. ( I was just missing my fries, but as a person who's worked in food service, I get it. It's a brand new place, mistakes are just going to be made in the very beginning and I ordered knowing that) I cannot tell you how excited I was to see that they offer the Beyond Burger. As a vegetarian, eating out is so limited in this area to basically just pizza, salad and Japanese. Novelty Eats offers so many meat-less options and I'm really just thrilled to have a go-to place for days that I don't bring lunch to work. Even all of the dishes including meat seemed so have a delicious twist and looked very appetizing. You can tell that everyone is still finding their footing and trying to get into a rhythm but I don't see this as a reason to leave a bad review. Let's support the new local business. The delivery person wouldn't even come up to my door and told me to come to the lobby...The food is COLD, the order is WRONG, and there was a DIRTY CRUMPLED NAPKIN in my bag. Finally!! The neighborhood NEEDS more places like this. Popped in last night for dinner and I will definitely be a regular here. My son had the sliders and they were really good (I stole a bite) and the fries were amazing as well. I ordered the beef Slambdog Bites and they were also delicious. Our first experience was not a pleasant one. However, the manager of novelty eats reached out to me afterwards and wanted to make it right. The food the second time around was delicious, hot and fresh! We finally have a cool burger spot in Pelham Bay! Our burgers were soo juicy and and the bbq wings were super delicious. They had such a good kick to them. Onions rings and French fries were crispy and the onion ring sauce needs to go on everything, lol. Novelty eats more than proved to us the second time around that having one bad night does not make or define them. The menu is fun, the food is delicious, and the manager and his team are amazing!
