    Relaxing with sangria.

I was going to take my parents up to City Island when I remembered this restaurant was on my list of places to try. It is a restaurant in a Trump owned golf course. There were people in their polo shirts coming off the golf course as well as people just there for a meal. We went for Sunday brunch. My mom had crab cakes and a ceasar salad, my dad had pizza, I had the truffle burger and my son had a cheeseburger that looked the same size as mine. I have to say I loved my burger. While I differ on our ex presidents views, this place knows how to make a great truffle burger. We all enjoyed our food. I opted for the bottomless brunch while everyone else had the brunch. The service was great. The server made it truly bottomless. I had several different drinks and liked the red sangria the best. I loved the relaxing atmosphere and view of the water. It's hard to believe this place is in the middle of the Bronx.

When I was going through heartbreak, my friends took me here to hangout and take my mind off of it. Sitting out there and looking at the grass, the sky, the clouds, the water, it honestly healed something in me. Just sitting there with the wind in my hair and the quiet murmur of the other diners around me felt calming. The food was great too, the only reason I minused a star was the service was quite slow. Maybe it was just an off day for them like it was for me but I'll go back and confirm :) Really a gem, I'm surprised I've never heard of it.

A thumb up and definitely will return. The Waterfront NYC at Trump Link (Ferry Point) is a nice place to dine or have a drink, for non golfers as well. The neighborhood around it is a little depressing but the facility itself is very decent. Setting. View. Service. Food. All good. We ordered Margherita pizza and pan seared Faroe Island salmon, which decorated w/ pea shoots, baby carrots, three kinds of cauliflowers, are just perfect for the summer. Their thick beurre blanc sauce is delicious. Guess Mr. Trump didn't spare any cost, i.e. the passing golf cars are silent (compare to some courses using gas and are very noisy, as obnoxious.) Also, the little handheld payment processor is great too.

First time here. I don't think it will be my last! Service was good. Nick was our server. What a big, spacious dining area. Outdoor dining as well, but it was too hot to eat outdoors! We had Thai chili wings, crab cakes, grilled chicken and the truffle pizza. Everything was good. And came out in a timely fashion.

I live in the area and had no idea that this place existed! A friend of mine invited me here and it was very cute. We came here during COVID and when outdoor dining was becoming a thing. We had some awesome food and a couple of drinks. This restaurant is really cute for a date, especially outside where you get to see the bridge, the sunset (depending on the time you go) and the golf course.

What a beautiful place to have lunch/early dinner. We were seated outside and what a view. Felt like we were dining at the Hamptons. Drove by this golf course plenty of times while driving past the Whitestone bridge and did not know they had such a beautiful restaurant on site. We went for lunch and ordered the steak, lamb chops, calamari, charcuterie board and cocktails. The lamb chops were a big hit! Would definitely come back again.

We haven't been in awhile to the The Waterfront NYC, so we figured we would start our Memorial Day weekend with the beautiful clubhouse and scenic views and check out the menu! We were not disappointed! They now have more options on their menues (see in pictures) and are rocking the food! We had the "Wild Mushroom and Truffle" Neapolitan style pizza from the Hearth with an abundance of mushrooms with a wonderful truffle purée and garlic chives! I also enjoyed the perfectly pan seared "Faroe Island Salmon" with a beautiful assortment of veggies and grilled cabbage to make this dish so exquisite! A shout out to our server Jon-Michael for making us feel special and helping us with our selections. I am excited to return to try more of their cuisine and check out their brunch on the weekends!

Whoever the business developers are, they took this overgrown grassy lot that's been vacant for the last 40 or so odd years and built a multi-business structure from scratch and Seafood M. dove in deep with it. I'll truthfully credit this find to my daughter- who, on her recent Holiday visit staying with Grandma, found this place on a whim. I jumped on it too days later. The first 2 dishes my kid got were the steamed AND seasoned Crab Legs+veggies and a steamed shrimp platter for my mom. According to her, my kid devoured the crab legs- which were perfectly steamed without making the shells soft. And my Mom's steamed Shrimp platter had a considerable amount of plump shrimp with a light seasoning that didn't overpower the seafood. On my recent trip though, I picked up the 3 piece Catfish-only meal and the 4 piece Whiting (the owner actually threw in like one or two pieces in there- thank you!). Both delicious. I may not be Southern, but I know a good dredge on fried fish when I see it and taste it. Renée(sp?) the owner- uses a fantastic and light that holds its own and doesn't crack into dust. The space may seem untidy- so don't come here for looks. Just come for the food. But, Renée has a great thing going and at 3 years strong, she's creating a sense of community and flare when Soundview never had a stand-alone fried fish/fish market spot. Wishing you much more success.

Dakota's on the Cove has been in my periphery for a while. Up until today, I had not been here…read moresince the space was its former occupant, Ice House. While I had heard mixed things about Dakota's, I wanted to check it out for myself. I had been meaning to catch up with some of my IRL Yelp friends, and thought this would be a great place to meet up - so off we went. Dakota's is located right on the water in Throgg's Neck and provides great views of the marina. The dining area is separated into a front room, bar area, back room, outdoor patio, and a biergarten area. The decor and aesthetics have a nautical vibe - think blues, greys, and whites with lots of clean lines. One of my friends told me that the menu is relatively new, as they got a new chef ~ 2 weeks ago. The menu isn't large, in fact it's somewhat limited in my view; there are a few apps, mains, and sides - but I would like to have seen an expanded salad selection (there are only two on the menu) and a sandwich section, especially given the aesthetics and the fact that they're open for lunch. We decided to start by sharing some apps and one of their salads: the tuna tartare, the mussels, and the specific salad name escapes me but it had feta whip. Everything was very good - the tuna was fresh and came with some thin crostini that provided a welcome contrast in texture. The salad was flavorful, but the portion was small for the price and the combination of feta whip with the dressing made it a little too wet. The mussels were great - we chose to have them prepared in a white wine sauce which was super flavorful. It came with two pieces of focaccia which were good albeit slightly stale; crostini would have been better. For mains, we split two: the fish and chips and the linguine with clam sauce. The former was pretty good - two generous pieces of fish, but it could have used more fries; the apple slaw it was served with cut through the heaviness of the dish well. The linguini was also good, however it's hard for me to justify a pasta dish being over $30 - especially in this case where there were relatively few clams and the portion was not big. We also ordered a side of broccoli rabe which was good - though the addition of some garlic bulbs/slices would have elevated it. For desert we split the lemon gelée abd biscoff cheesecake. I wasn't a fan of the former, it had a tough-ish consistency and lacked flavor; the cheesecake was better. Service was excellent; we made conversation with several members of staff while we were there - including the owner. They are really putting an effort in to make this place great and I saw it in all aspects of my experience. Overall, I had a great time at Dakota's; I think they still need to fine-tune their menu, especially in relation to portion sizes and prices. However, if this is an improvement from where they were, then they're taking a step in the right direction.
