    French martinis 9/10

Quite spacious with parking in the back - can be a nice date spot or a great meet up with friends (as was for us); Went on a Thursday for happy hour which then turned to ladies night specials. We drank French martinis all night 9/10 with Margherita Pizza 8/10 Lemon basil hummus 7/10 Italian nachos 10/10 Can get really loud with parties and by bar (where the happy hour would be). The server (Simon) was amazing, friendly, and attentive. Definitely going back soon.

10/1/25. We decided on Novita since they offered a wine flight, but our server didn't know much about it. Martini was weak, but wine and food were good. Cant go wrong with the shroom pizza and bolognese pasta. The chicken milanese salad was new to me, and was pleasantly surprised. Same for the cheesecake! Our server Kasey was great and personable, and Frankie was an attentive busboy.

have been to novitá in garden city maybe half a dozen times, and also ordered delivery around the same. overall the food is definitely solid.. especially once you find your staple dishes. mine is the braised short rib pasta, and my partner's go-to is the rigatoni alla vodka. whether we're dining in or ordering out, those two are always consistent.. super flavorful and reliably good. their pizzas are also pretty solid, but definitely better in-person. they use quality ingredients, but the pies don't travel great, so i wouldn't recommend them for delivery. we've sampled a bunch of their apps, and honestly weren't blown away when we tried branching out.. things like the sliders, arancini, or clams didn't really hit for us. i also get the sense seafood might not be their strength. wouldn't recommend the pappardelle with lobster or the black linguine with octopus.. both sounded great on paper but were kind of underwhelming flavor-wise. overall though, if you stick to the pasta classics and dine in when you can, novitá delivers a pretty reliable and tasty experience. oh side note, after a certain time of night on fridays/saturdays.. it might get a bit loud and party-ish if that's your vibe. nevertheless service is good and friendly.

Novitá is another amazing find for 2024! I chose it for a Tuesday night dinner while in the area, and it exceeded my expectations. The ambiance and décor created a beautiful, inviting vibe. The service was impeccable--our server was quick and accommodating as we were rushing for an event. My group loved the food, especially the charcuterie board with its great selection of meats and cheeses. I personally enjoyed the gluten-free truffle mushroom pizza, which was absolutely delicious. My only regret is living so far away, but I'd love to return.

I was not impressed. Mid week lunch, very few people in the restaurant, bartender took the orders instead of a designated wait staff. The place is very nice, great ambiance for dinner or get together with friends. However, the water glasses at our table were absolutely filthy, and I'm not talking residue from the dishwasher- huge greasy fingerprints and also stained silverware. The food was just okay- from the plain tasting buratta to caesar salad with overly sweet croutons; cheese tortellini with chicken and spinach were almost perfect though. The most bizarre food item I have ever had was the lobster sliders- I was very confused by the mixture combination, brioche buns were stale and not warm as indicated and the seasoned fries were almost inedible. So was the Nutella crème brûlée - great burn on the sugar, but the custard was over the top sweet. Good sangria and an okay martini.

Love love love Novitá. The service can get a little bad when dinner rush but that is understandable. The food and choices are amazing. 100% get the Brussels sprouts and meatballs

We visited for dinner on weekdays and found the establishment to be exactly what we were seeking - Inexpensive, beautiful, and romantic atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being busy, we chose to dine on the enclosed outdoor patio, which featured a heater for winter and a tent to protect against rain. The service was exceptional, the cuisine was delectable, and the pasta dishes and soups were impeccable. Notably, the menu offered numerous options, including gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free. A baby changing table is provided in the restroom. We would return and recommend checking out this place if you're in Garden City.

I've been here twice. The first time I got pasta. I don't remember which pasta but I do remember it being very fresh and delicious. This time I got a chicken parm. It was very good, but it wasn't much better than what you would get at any other Italian restaurant. The service was good.

The entrance to this Italian restaurant and "enoteca" (wine) bar is from the huge parking lot servicing several restaurants and businesses just west of Franklin Avenue in Garden City. On a Sunday evening, we didn't really need the reservation we had, but there was a crowd. My wife complained about the cold air, so they nicely shut off the fan. The drinks we ordered were reasonable, only $3 for a soda and $8 for a beer on tap. All the entrées were good, but sometimes a bit pricey and not very generous. My son got the best deal with the Chicken Parm for $25, a thick but well-cooked breast, nicely breaded and not too much mozzarella cheese on top, very moist on the inside and helped by almost swimming in a pomodoro sauce. My wife got the sea scallops (only six) for $36, over a corny orzo. I got a bowl of linguine with large shrimps (only five in what seemed like a mild scampi sauce) for $28. The grilled octopus appetizer was very good, but expensive at $29. The Wild Arugula salad at $16 tasted fine, but there were only a minimal amount of ingredients (poached pears, sun-dried cherries, gorgonzola spiced pecans) besides the arugula. Service was efficient, mostly fleeting drive byes, composed of a trio: the waitress, the bus boy, and the guy who brought out our orders from the kitchen.

Very cute ambiance and great for a date spot. The penne vodka is my favorite. Stick with the pasta there though.

Our waitress was responsive to whatever we needed. The prices are a little high for the portion size, but the food is great quality. My vinho verde was a nice size pour. My husband loved the Iberian ham here. We both had the garlic shrimp which were very well flavored but unfortunately didn't have even one garlic clove, which was disappointing and there were only 6 shrimp. The olive oil they were in was great though and we dipped our food into it and they were perfectly cooked. The paella is supposed to be for 2-4 people which I can see if you have more tapas but we finished it off. It came with a healthy amount of shrimp, grilled calamari and chorizo and was perfectly seasoned. We also appreciated how the rice was a bit crispy and not mushy. The table next to ours ordered what appeared to be a very good looking fruit cobbler of some kind but we were too stuffed for dessert. They also have a weekday happy hour before 6pm that looks good with deals on booze. Really enjoyed this spot! Conveniently located in the middle of garden city with ample free parking.

For desserts we got the lemon and blueberry pudding, was delicious. I loved the bread pudding. My grandfather enjoyed his Nutella chocolate.

First thing we noticed, in the area we were seated at, right by the waiter station was a mountain, a big disgusting mountain, of dirty dishes piled up on display. Totally not acceptable. The food took a long time to come to the table. First the bread, then the appetizers, then the main. We sat there with a table full of dirty dishes the entire meal, no one checked on us and cleared the table. No one. Actually, nobody moved our appetizer dishes before the main dishes came, I got up and moved them to another table as the waiter was putting the main course on the table. It was comically unacceptable. Also, don't expect steak knives with your steak or chops, we had to ask for them; we were left to use the butter knives we had from our bread. Also, beware the fish special and the truffle fries, no bueno. The manager I spoke to was useless. It he didn't see all of this incompetence unfolding around him, he's an uncaring leader. I told him how I had to move dishes to another table and showed him them. He cleared the dirty dishes off of that table and asked us if there was anything else we needed. Yes, we were still waiting on our truffle fries. He brought them, and that was all he did. At least the main waiter removed the nasty fish dish from our bill. Avoid this place. It's too expensive for crappy service and mediocre food. It was the first time I left less than a 25% tip in over 20 years, the service was so terrible, I still feel as if I left too much money. Avoid!
