BEWARE!: Genius business model to get people to PAY inspection FEES UPFRONT for no work performed or even proposed. HORRIBLE! Spoke to Steve multiple times after multiple messages. I called them before agreeing to do business with them in order to ask if they did timing on diesel engines and was told yes. After negotiating a discounted diagnostic fee upfront, the dispatched mechanic reported back that it has engine codes(I knew already and needed timing only). Still no proposal after over a month of waiting and contacting them. I don't trust it would be done properly or at all at this point and wouldn't do business with them. Had them look at another van I had a battery issue w due to it being stolen and damaged. After multiple visits from the mechanic and multiple UP-CHARGES due to extra time they said, and still no solution or repair proposal from them. The guy tore all kind of wires and made more of a mess. DO NOT USE THEM. Only my experience sadly. Hoped for a different result. After finally getting ahold of them, he said a guy quit and refused refund of diagnostic fees even though I never got a diagnostic. BEWARE!!! Will be posting on BBB as well to make sure people are aware of the process. UPDATE: Got a message after posting my review that an estimate can be sent. Most responses to negative reviews accuse the customer in some way, no review responses show any accountability,only empty apologies that hinge on "if this happened how you're saying it happened" which hold zero accountability. Reaching out to Novo was one of the worst experiences I've had with a mechanic in San Diego. I'm a small business owner and during a busy work week our truck developed an oil leak. Because the truck is essential to our business, I contacted Novo to fix and diagnose the issue as quickly as possible. When the mechanic arrived, we discussed inspecting the engine first to determine the root cause of the leak before moving forward with any major repair. Based on their diagnosis, they stated the issue was related to the intake manifold gasket and valve cover gaskets. I paid approximately $1,800 for the repair, including an inspection. After the repair was completed, I was told the truck was "good to go." The following day we returned our rental truck and began using our work truck again. Almost immediately the vehicle began leaking oil again -- worse than before -- and it started producing white smoke from the exhaust and running poorly. When I contacted Novo again, they said they would make it a priority and came to fix it which I was thrilled by but this time I was then told the engine had major blow-by and would need to be replaced. This was extremely concerning because that issue should have been identified during the initial inspection before recommending and performing an $1,800 repair. To verify, I had another mechanic inspect the truck. Within minutes they confirmed the engine had significant blow-by and stated that this condition should have been obvious during a basic diagnostic inspection. I attempted to resolve the situation reasonably and even offered to cover the cost of the parts used in the repair, requesting a partial refund for the labor and misdiagnosis. Unfortunately, their original offer was only $250, which was simply the amount originally charged for the inspection. After multiple attempts to resolve the issue and very little movement on their end, I became discouraged with how the situation was being handled. At one point they increased their final offer to $700, which still leaves $1,100 paid for a repair that ultimately addressed none of the actual underlying issue. In an effort to settle the matter without further escalation, I clearly stated that I would accept $1,000 -- meaning I was willing to absorb an $800 loss myself despite doing absolutely nothing wrong, simply to resolve the situation fairly and move forward. Despite that reasonable compromise, they refused. As a small business owner myself, I understand that mistakes can happen. What matters is how a company takes responsibility and makes things right when they do. Unfortunately, their unwillingness to reach even a fair middle ground says a lot about their priorities, and in my opinion their company values are clearly lacking. As a fellow business owner I value honesty, transparency, and standing behind work performed. Unfortunately this experience lacked all three. Because of the circumstances, I will be pursuing a complaint through the California Bureau of Automotive Repair and small claims court to resolve the matter. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this company carefully review all experiences before proceeding. read more

I would suggest to AVOID this company. I contacted "Steve" who is apparently the owner of the company. He told me he would send someone right over. The AC on my car wasn't working and I planned to drive to Vegas the next morning. He strung me along for hours before finally getting a technician to my home to look at the car. The tech told me that the company is NOT Lexus or Toyota, "we are a jack of all trades, master of none." That did not instill confidence in me. I asked if it was a matter of installing some frion into the AC did he have that product with him. He said no, that he was here to diagnose the problem and would have to return to actually fix the car. The fact that they charge you $185 just to even begin is a big red flag. The tech had no tools, doesn't know much about Lexus cars, and didn't even have frion when I initially explained that the problem was that the AC was not pushing out cold air. All they really want is that initial charge of $185, and they don't really care about fixing the car. I think NOVO mobile mechanic is preying on people's mishap and desperation. He falsely giving the promised to fix my disable vehicle same day but failed to deliver. Do be fair. Novo could do service like oil change, brake job that are mechanicaly straight forward service. I worked on car myself so I know when Steve was not presenting the truth about the diagnosis. Because nobody no earth could make a diagnosis without using proper tools such as scan tool, multimeter, test pen to find the electrical issues on a disabled car. My car had a short circuit that led to a sudden disability -- battery terminal melted and gave out bad sulfur odor. I clearly showed him the evidence of a short electrical circuit in my car. But he proceeded to use a portable jumper battery to attach to my car lead to a furious electrical spark that scared everybody around us on a busy street. Then he proceeded to take pictures of the fuses box and made multiple phone calls. Finally, he gave me a diagnosis of bad starter and wanted a thousand dollars to fix it!!!! Make a long story short, next day another mobile tech found the problem and fixed it. It was not the failed starter or bad circuit that Steve claimed & want a thousand dolars job. The tech did a proper diagnosis by using multimeter and test pen to check every fuses, relay and wire. Problem was solved & l was on the road 2hrs later. In my personal experience, this did not feel like a legitimate or professional business. I was never provided a receipt for the $500 I was charged, and the work they delivered on my car was none. They charged for diagnostics but did not even provide me a physical diagnostics report or show me one. I originally posted a negative review describing what happened, but I ended up removing it after they called my husbands phone number and threatened him to have me remove it or they would just alter it themselves (which isn't possible ) when they did "work" on the car they killed the battery. I had to buy a new one after they left. So I paid them and bought a new battery and they could not diagnose an issue on my car other than it wouldn't start. To top it all off the "mechanic" left the car keys on top of the wheel inside the wheel well when he left my house at 1am. Instead of knocking on the door of my house he was right in front of or giving us a call he just left the keys there all night (it was also raining) Based on what I went through, I would caution others to be very careful before choosing to work with them. They are deceitful and dishonest. There are actual good mobile mechanics out there so steer clear of these guys. read more

this company is a scam they are taking advantage of people that instilled trust in their supposed services. i was charged 185 dollars to only have the guy come out for 15 minutes and tell me 1 thing that "might" be wrong with my car. i was told the diagnostic would be 85 dollars and the 100 would be for any repairs needed. after the diagnostic and no work was performed he left and now im out 100. all for nothing. i regret not doing any research on these scammers because of the dilemma i was in and the hope that they would enlighten me on what issiues i have with the car. i do not reccommend novo repairs for anything. they should be fined sued and removed and never allowed to do business and prey on poor people in need. i will be reporting this business to the bbb and will contiuously spread the word on how corrupt this establishment is until i get the 100 dollars that was never used. ---------- I just got a response from "Bradley" who likely isn't a real person, who said this phony company isn't on Yelp yet only minutes after my review they took the time to reply. It all started out good , then the mechanic was half hour longer than the time given to me. After mechanic showed up , hooked my car up to the machine , he said it was my transmission & told me the cost. Basically I couldn't go to work the next day, already had my car sold off . Then I realized the mechanic NEVER CHECKED MY FLUIDS figured what can I lose went & got transmission fluid put it in & my car ran fine. I basically got taken for $185 I dont know where the mechanic got his training but he needs to go back for more training . How do you check out a car without checking the fluids first. Charged my girlfriend double what we had agreed on for parts, and then sent an quote that had never been paid for as a "receipt". Also missed their first FOUR scheduled times for when they would do the repair. I spoke primarily to Steve. When he initially called me Tesla had given an estimate of $1025 to replace the brakes and rotors, which seemed high to me, since the parts only cost $171 online. I called up Steve and he quoted $150 per axle for labour, plus the parts which he said he already had (as I offered to just buy the cheap ones online). He said they had standards for the parts they used and that the total price would be $740, which I agreed to. He then asked for a deposit which I sent, and scheduled four separate times when I had to be home that no one showed up for. The tech finally arrived to do the repair an hour and a half late, and I left two hours in for a dentist appointment. Shortly after he pressured my girlfriend to pay him $960 for the repairs, which she did as she didn't know the original amount and I was stuck at the dentist. I never would have paid this much as I could have had it done weeks prior from tesla at basically the same price. I followed up with Steve and told him that if he actually paid that much for parts it was fine, but he needed to prove it with a receipt. He sent me a picture of how much a random set of break rotors cost, but I told him I needed the actual receipt of what he paid for parts. He told me he couldn't provide it till Monday of the next week. I called Monday, and then again Tuesday, and he finally sent me the "receipt", which was from worldpac with an order number of 60675559. This order didn't have most of the information a normal receipt would on it. When I called worldpac to check the order number I took a voice recording and the tech told me this wasn't a delivered order it was just a quote that had just been requested. I requested for Steve to do the right thing and refund me the difference for the parts as they obviously hadn't ordered them for that much and I caught him in his lie, but he still hasn't refunded me the difference. I had a coolant leak on my range rover sport and it needed a new water pump and y pipe. Dealer quoted me $2700 for the job while novo was able to do it for 800 (labor only, i had ordered the parts from the dealer for 230). Their mechanic miguel was a really nice guy. He saw that i was curious so he walked me through everything he was doing step by step. He was very organized and efficient. He left my garage very clean and the coolant leak was completely fixed. I would definitely use this app again. Great mechanics and customer service. Was very convenient since i didnt have to leave the house. This saved me 1700$ so it was well worth it! read more
