Horrible management, and owner doesn't care about customers. I used to use Alxendrite machine for 12 months. Then I would show up to the spa after 45 min drive and they would tell me the machine is not working and try to make me use another machine and I refuse and I asked if the alexendrite is not working please give me a call. Happened to me 3 times in a row. And I got in a huge argument with them for not respecting people's time and all they needed was giving a call that the machine wasn't working. If I get late 5 mins to the appointment they would cancel the appointment but it's ok for them to make me drive 45 mins for nothing. Contacted owner and he didn't care. Laser hair removal: six treatments; zero results - however, upon consolation I was told "You have the perfect skin tone and hair color for this treatment to have optimal results." Every appointment I had to wait at least 20 to 30 beyond my scheduled appointment time. During the treatments, I had three different technicians; one of whom is entirely unprofessional. It was a waste of money and time. I was initially drawn to Novopelle due to the price (the Novopass, specifically), though before I went I tried to do due diligence to make sure that the place was still reputable. I was pleased with my experience with Novopelle, and have been a frequent customer since July 2013 and have slowly started lasering more areas (most of the areas I waxed or shaved before doing LHR at Novopelle.) When I initially visited, I was happy with the professionalism and knowledge of the staff. I've seen 3 different aestheticians during my time visiting Novpelle (had one person consistently, had to have someone else fill in one month, and then since my initial aesthetician left, I've been booking appointments with someone else). Scheduling can be tricky; if you request a specific person, you'll typically need to book ahead of time (i.e. a few weeks to a month before your desired appt), but scheduling is more lax if you're flexible. The aestheticians seem genuinely interested in helping you to get good results, while also being mindful of not going overboard and burning you. If you're interested in getting several areas treated, then I highly suggest considering the Novopass (it's $99 for 30 minutes per month). With that amount of time, you can fit in treatment of multiple areas at each visit. I've typically had a good experience with timing (wait times are not usually beyond 5-10 minutes). In my 20ish visits, I've only had 2 or 3 times when the wait has been longer. They also offer other treatments (e.g. weight-loss services, tattoo removal) and they sell price-y beauty products. Warning: some staff members will try to push extra services or products on you; just be realistic with yourself about what you are looking for, and don't buy anything that you're not interested in. read more

I finally mustered up the courage to try laser hair removal. I don't know if they offer this all the time, but right now they were offering a free underarm session. That helped ease my nerves that I could try a session before forking over more money for future treatments. Their normal specials and offers are very reasonably priced, similar to those daily deal vouchers. They were very professional, have flexible hours for appointments, and are super quick. And I liked how the first time I went they were patient and thoroughly explained what would occur during the procedure and gave tips and pointers of what to do post-procedure. Do I have less hair? Yep, at least 50% less! However... - I have had dime-sized burns TWICE in the "Brazilian" area. To add to the trauma, they take a photo of your hoo-ha for your file, which seemed reasonable at the time (for liability reasons) but in retrospect is really disgusting and unnecessary. - Techs repeatedly missed patches of hair. Had to go for touch ups the last few times...probably because the rooms are dimly lit, so I imagine it's hard for techs to see the strays. Not sure why they don't use lamps. - High staff turnover and difficulty reaching staff. In the past year, I don't think I've ever been able to directly contact the Houston location (my location). I have had to leave a message or go through the Austin location. - Inconsistent information from techs. Some told me it was important to shave, some didn't care. read more

Update: Agreed to give them another shot at customer service... Bummer! When I showed up for my last visit, they didn't show me having an appointment! There was no one else there, but the girl refused to give me my appointment . After deciding to wait it out and not leave , she finally gave in an hour later since there was no one else there, and did my appointment! Patient's shouldn't be penalized for their poor appointment tracking, or have to sit and wait for an appointment when there's no one else there ! They started off well, but then scheduling, reminders, or even getting ANYONE to answer the phone became difficult - and getting a call-back was nearly impossible. Was Five Stars, but dropped due to poor customer service on my last two visits. Excellent Investment!!! Anyway, after the sixth session I hardly ever have to shave my neck or the back hairline of my head. Can go weeks with minimal touch ups, and it used to be daily torture with regular bleeding bc my neck was sensitive to shaving. Plus, I was only able to get two shaves out of any blade before it would dull, due to coarse hair! I save a fortune in blades, and in time! I do have white skin and black hair - so an excellent candidate - but my facial hair is very thick stranded. I have tried to get in contact with this salon to schedule an appointment for two weeks now. I bought a package via their website for intimate bleaching on 2/24/23. I called their Houston office multiple times throughout the week, no answer. I go on their website & see they have a 1800 number, so I try to call that, no answer. I finally get an answer this week and the lady tells me she'll look in to why I haven't received the pre-treatment yet (you must treat the area two weeks prior for better results). No problem at all. I call again today (3/9/23) & the lady says the same exact thing, but tells me to call the Dallas office because that's where I'll get a faster response. Of course I call the Dallas office & what do you know, no answer. I was extremely excited about this service as I've struggled with hyperpigmentation for years, but this is just very unprofessional. I never write reviews, but my experience today made me sign up so I could leave my feedback. I went in for my second treatment and I was even more pleased this time around. After the first treatment, I did experience noticeable results, but my tech today, Christine, was awesome. She was very thorough and took her time. The first tech was nice, but seemed a little more rushed and less careful. As far as results, I went in because I had sideburns that would have made Danny Zuko jealous. I had them waxed a few times until I had a chunk of flesh ripped off, then I resorted to shaving. That would have worked out fine if I didn't have to shave EVERY DAY to keep my face smooth. It's mortifying having to pull away from a man because you forgot to shave in the morning. After the first treatment, I had to shave daily for about the first week, but then something beautiful happened. The hair didn't come back!!! After another couple couple of weeks I noticed that it was growing in again, but there was definitely less and it was less coarse. I was very impressed considering that it was just one treatment. I can't wait until I'm done with my full course. I have 7 hairy sisters and plenty of other family and friends I'll be referring here. read more

Well I have to agree with the other ladies. This new manager they have, has NO clue. I chose to not use my real name because I don't want them to reach out to me to try and change my mind. I already changed all my banking information so they can no longer withdrawal money from my account because I will NEVER EVER step foot in that place again!!! This new "manager" is definitely not friendly, not happy, not professional at all. She stares at you with this blank look and her mouth wide open looking at you like YOU are the one from another planet! !! She knows nothing about the treatments. She has no straight answers anytime I ask. I sat in the front lobby for about 40 minutes. Nobody there to greet me. I wasn't sure what was going on. Then finally Tonya comes out from the back and I found out that her and Megan were there alone.... The front door unlocked and these girls in the back with their customers. NOT a safe environment! !!!!! They will not answer their phones, I have left several messages and to this day, still no return call. How can you operate a business with NO PHONES??? I use to love coming to this place. I fell in love with my technician Tonya. She was always so happy, friendly, made you feel very special. She had this "Mother's touch" I told her the last time I was there, she needed to go find a better place to work. Everytime I walk in that place, people are yelling and demanding refunds. I've been consistently getting laser done for the past 2 years while living in another city, and I came to this spa to get a touch up on my face and I was very disappointed with their customer service. The results weren't as noticeable with the new technician and it took a lot longer. Now I am just leaving my 2nd appointment with the "new team" and won't be back. The laser was "acting up" and they still chose to treat me. The area they treated (for only a few pulses until I couldn't take it anymore) is VERY red, hot and irritated. Not once have I had pain, redness or heat from a treatment. This is my 9th treatment btw... What a joke. I want my money back as I just recently purchased a new package for a new area. I can't complain against the aesthetician's. They're good quality. However, the front desk staff....they need work. Jaenette (sorry for the spelling) is alright. They shluld do a better job remembering their regulars though. It would go a long way in making people feel more welcome and more at ease. The other lady who is often at the front... I'm not impressed with her at all. Never has introduced herself, never greets you when you walk in (I've been there several times) and she simply never smiles. It's actually rather frustrating and simply not comforting. Also, I feel like I'm often seeing a new person. Shouldn't be that way. You should get to see the same person and of your choice when you pay so much money. However, the effectiveness of the treatments and aestheticians in the treatment room are perfectly fine. I have been having laser hair removal treatments since 2008, both overseas and at numerous other LHR places here in Houston and I can honestly say that I have not had the results - in all those years and in all those places - that I have had in 6 treatments with Tonya at Novopelle. She is like a magician - I no longer have hair in the areas that she has treated. I am so happy !!! Six years and so much money wasted down the drain - if I had known then, I would have gone to Novopelle first and been done with it within 6 treatments. I highly recommend her and would NEVER go anywhere else. She is thorough, explains everything, checks and then double checks to make sure that I am comfortable and that each "zap" is well tolerated by my skin. My boyfriend purchased a 12 session package and his hair is still growing back! Their machine is old and some of the technicians did not know what they were doing. The lines of the hair removal were not clean so hair was growing back in spots/lines. They accidentally lazered a part of my eyebrow but luckily it grew back (again bc their machine doesn't work). I gave them two stars because they did try to fix the problem by offering 4 free sessions but what's the point if it still didn't fix the problem? I've been going to Novopelle for about 3 years and have had several laser hair removal treatments and ViPeels, plus regular facials and microdermabrasion. I hasn't had any issues making appointments the past few sessions, so hopefully they have fixed the phone answering service. I came a bit early last time and the staff was kind enough to let me have the service early as the customer before me canceled last minute. There has been a lot of staff turnover, I haven't seen any technician more than once. Well as long as they are courteous and competent I am okay with it. However deduct one star for "losing" my session counts. Apparently they changed computer system or something and some of the prepaid appointments were not carried over so my last few sessions disappeared. read more

They expressed to me how they have had turnover and they want me to come in for a free session, I was very reluctant but obliged. The appointment was good. However, since my year with my Novopass went horrible I did not renew it because I didn't want to get locked into a contract for another year and have issues.
