tldr: This is a must-go casual, locally inspired chef's table restaurant. Food is fresh, locally sourced, and prepared all by the head chef of the 30 person intimate eatery (6 chef bar seats). Get the set courses the first time, then next time choose ala carte. Nowhere a Restaurant is hidden in the courtyard behind the other "*a restaurant" eatery (same owner). The set meals provides a great offering of locally sourced and fresh ingredients. The chef loves the food, and if you sit at the chefs bar she will explain to you the inspiration for each dish. It's also not too expensive. I highly recommend going here. Very casual vibe. Has a lot of regulars. Become one of the regulars!

Most definitely makes for a notable dining experience in Victoria! The tasting menu was very well thought-out and you could tell the chef was having and sharing their fun with it. The amuse bouche itself provided a great taste of what we had to look forward to: it was deep-fried corn served on a corn-based custard with a side of refreshing pickled corn - for them to be able to think of creating an entirely corn-based dish full of flavour and textures that just worked so well together should be an indication of the craft that goes into their dishes. A great balance between creativity and mastered technique (I don't think I've ever tasted pork loin so flavourful and tender! The crudo scallops served with a tuna cream sauce and lemon olive oil was chef's kiss! TWO morels served with wagyu! Don't even get me started on their reincarnation of ham and cheese as a ravioli dish with duck slices). Music was at a good level, vibe and service was kind and not pretentious. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is the miscommunication with our reservations. We called a few weeks in advanced, looking to get a table at Hank's, their sister restaurant next door. We were told that they'd be able to accommodate our family of 5. When we arrived, we were told they actually moved us to a table at Nowhere - and at that pint we had no choice but to go for the tasting menu as opposed to doing an a la carte option at Hank's. I wish they'd called us in advance to let us know - some folks might not have the appetites or budget we did to be as flexible with the evening. No regrets - we had a wonderful experience at Nowhere and their tasting menu but wanted to note this caveat.

I recommend the incredible wine pairings they have chosen to pair with each course. It's a trip around the world in you mouth!

There is also a nice-sized bar, but the bar isn't the centre of the room the way it is at Hank's.

Because I could sea a small layer of oil on the bisque, which I think is where the deep, rich seafood flavor (i.e. lobster flavor) was coming from. The seafood pasta had the same lobster flavors as well. Must try this place again.

My spouse had the chuck and brisket/bacon burger with fries. The chef would not prepare it medium but well done only. Complaints were a dry, possibly pre formed and frozen meat patty...the veggies were necessary for moisture. I had the buttermilk chicken "schnitzel" with fennel salad and potatoes. The fennel salad consisted of 2 1/2 thin shaves of fennel. The potatoes were good. The chicken was most likely 3 oz and pounded literally as thin as paper and deep fried within an inch of its life! The dish was small or meager size and I don't need a lot to feel satisfied but simply didn't with this dish of greasy, overcooked paper thin chicken. Ugh. Chocolate torte for dessert....although thin, it was rich and delicious. We shared the white bean mezze for a starter, the hummus was good and the pickled carrots very good. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, dark with deep colors and chill. The feeling we had was this restaurant trying to be a 5-star, chic culinary adventure (small portions but amazing food); however they fell very short. Unfortunately this hotel offers no other kitchen or menu for guests and room service. You won't find a delicious and varied menu here...you are stuck with Fathom. Do yourselves a favor and enjoy a culinary adventure outside of the hotel - every restaurant we have dined in (every time we ferry over to BC) has been yummy, with the exception of Fathom.

At one point we were using the crab scissors wrong and he came to our table and said "let me show you how to use those properly, ripping them from my husband's hands." So rude, there were many other ways he could have approached that. The gentleman that served us was not friendly, he had a put off attitude we were even there. I also had a gift card for $200 that he was not pleased to take off our bill,. He had to enter a code and it took him, not kidding, 5x to do. He was very frustrated but I wasn't not going to not use it. This place is NOT worth the $360 bill (not including tip). Skip this place and go to Steamship bar and Grill instead!

We came here on a Wednesday night and it was mostly empty. However, most of the seats next to the window facing the harbor were taken. They sat us on the upper layer of the restaurant, so we could still see the harbor somehow. It was beautiful with night lights. We ordered 1. West coast steamer pot for starter $25, 2. Lobster and Pacific prawn papardeli $41, 3. Chanterelle mushroom risotto $32, and 4. AAA 6oz tenderloin $55 (all prices in CAD). The steamer pot came first.. and while it's good, the seafood wasn't particular fresh or impressive, and the sauce was too savory/salty for me. After waiting for maybe 30 minutes for food, they finally came. My lobster and prawn pasta was good but again, the sauce was a bit too much. The amount of seafood given was also quite sad. The mushroom risotto wasn't cooked al dented, though the taste was fine and wasn't too salty like other dishes. The tenderloin was good, but I enjoyed the side veggies that came with it and the sweet sauce better than the steak itself. Overall it was just an alright and pricy dinner, so I think it's only worth it if you can get the seats next the window as the view was quite nice. This was the most expensive meal from our trip but I didn't think it was worth.

I wouldn't recommend coming here if you need a "quick bite" or have fussy kids who will become impatient. But, if you're ok to sit and enjoy a bit you will find the service fine. As a vegetarian, I was delighted that there were ample options for me to choose from without modifications necessary. This didn't stop me from ordering the delicious cavatelli with pesto and goat cheese for two nights in a row, but I loved having options! While dining with a larger group, the person who had the chicken and the person who had the short rib, both agreed their dishes were possibly the best preparation they'd ever had. The one complaint was that some in our group felt their dish was over salted. After enjoying the pastries at duo earlier in the day, I knew dessert was going to be worth it. We ordered the earl grey bar, the apple cake, and several other little bites. All were delighted with their selection. These desserts are on the smaller side (maybe about 4-5 bites each) so I do not recommend sharing. At breakfast, I had the avocado toast which was likewise delicious. They kept the coffee hot. Aura consistently exceeded my expectations.

The service was "mid" at best... our server was not very attentive or knowledgeable - 2/5 at best. We were seated next to an obnoxious table - they were so loud and actually FaceTiming for the entire restaurant to hear. Then a 5th friend decided to stop by - we hoped they would move to the bar at this stage (away from us) but he pulled up a chair and was even louder than the 4 at the table. We muscled through the first course (Burrata - pretty tasty), and were halfway through the halibut when we finally asked to be moved. Unfortunately the only tables were in the bar area - no view, but nice and quiet. We ordered dessert - zero mention of my wife's birthday (which was on the rez) or action to deal with the table that killed the vibe of the whole place. I left with a sour taste in my mouth after an expensive meal. There are much better options in Victoria.
