West coast IPA and a mountain of oysters = day made.

Really good food experience in Vic, BC. The food was fresh and service was quick. Not a whole lot of menu options but the variety of oysters offered was really sweet and fresh. Their in house sauces in bottles were interesting too. But wishing there are more hot sauce options tho.

Great food, great service. Very fresh seafood. Staff super friendly and helpful. Several options to choose from. We thought the food was great and definitely would be back again.

A small-ish cozy restaurant with seafood. When we arrived, they had already sold out of quite a few items so we were optimistic. Unfortunately, the place didn't reach expectations. The frites were too salty, the clam chowder had two tiny bits of clam, and the crab dip barely had any crab flavour.

Great food! I'd been wanting to try a Connecticut style lobster roll forever and it didn't disappoint! Also tried the garlic prawns and Salish sea steamers & baguette which were also very good! Service was great! Restaurant is nice and clean inside, and of course has an ocean theme! Definitely give this place a try!

Shuck Taylor's offers fresh oysters right in front you! I went during happy hour, which runs between 2-5pm and got a variety of oysters for a great deal! The oysters were briny, salty, and sometimes sweet which made it very refreshing. Along with the oysters I got a caviar bump. This was my first time having caviar but I've had similar fish roe like salmon and other fish. The caviar was buttery and creamy with an elaborate flavor. It was spectacular! Shuck Taylor's offers other seafood options but those are all I got with my partner. We ended up eating a lot of oysters. The employees were helpful in informing us about where the different oysters were from and what tastes differently. They were very welcoming and attentive from the moment we got in. If we had more time we probably would've stayed longer but we were going to go home that day!

Go to Happy Hour, which runs from 2-5 pm on Tuesdays to Sundays. You will be able to eat delicious oysters with no consequence. I came on a gloomy Tuesday evening and the server was cool yet attentive to our needs at all times. There was a selection of four different sauces for the oysters on our table to choose from. With the Happy Hour discount, we got rounds of $2 Fanny Bay oysters and $3 Sweet Red oysters. I found the Fanny Bay oysters much better due to their briny, salty, and juicy taste! We also ordered a caviar bump to add to that. Would highly recommend it!

Service was excellent. Food was not that great. Very low key. Nothing special. Compared to other seafood restaurants food was sorely lacking. Interior cute.

I had been wanting to try their lobster roll after seeing photos/videos on instagram - it did not disappoint. They recently increased their lobster roll (was $45 and is now $56) due to increased food costs - the quality of lobster meat is excellent (claw and knuckle) - no fillers and is not pre- cooked! It's worth the money as you are getting high quality ingredients. Fries were crispy. Ordered off of the HH menu - the deep fried oysters were delicious with the tartar sauce (you got 4 pieces for $16). The clam dip with chips ($12) were also on the HH - they refilled the miss Vickie's original chips - which was nice! We also did a caviar bump ($7), which was a first for me and my friend. I enjoyed it, but I think it's better to have if you are ordering raw oysters! Staff were chill but attentive-the overall vibe of the space and staff was cool. I can't wait to go back to try their brunch (although I'm a little sad that their Bennie's are served on an English toast-not a fan of English toast) and try their other items on their menu! I will be back for their lobster roll!

While on a recent trip to Victoria, my boyfriend and I were looking for a joint with fresh oysters and a nice drink menu for Happy Hour. We stumbled across this little gem. Shuck Taylors is a delightful little restaurant where the star of the menu is undoubtedly the oysters, which are served with an array of exceptional house-made sauces that enhance their natural brininess to perfection. The mussels and clams are another highlight, cooked to perfection and seasoned with just the right amount of spice. Each bite bursts with flavor, striking a harmonious balance that showcases the kitchen's culinary skill. Don't miss the pan-fried oysters, either. They're wonderfully crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, offering a delicious contrast in texture that's hard to resist. Overall, Shuck Taylors is a haven for seafood lovers. With its fantastic oysters, flavorful mussels and clams, and delectable pan-fried oysters, this cozy restaurant promises a memorable dining experience. No wonder they had a line up by the time we were leaving!

We love the Sunday all-day happy hour. What made it even more fun is the staff. They are amazing and truly dedicated to everyone having a fun and happy experience. It is our new Sunday tradition! We decided to try Shuck Taylor's during their soft opening, and I can't recommend it highly enough. While they aren't taking reservations at the moment, the service and food truly shine. The owner came and greeted us as well, and checked if we had everything we needed, which is truly appreciated! The fresh oysters were impeccable. We tried Evening Cove Trays BC - Cortes Island and Evening Cove Beach BC - Mudge Island. The chimichurri and the other sauce sauce were the perfect condiment to the oysters. We also indulged in the lobster rolls and oyster po' boy, both of which were absolutely fantastic. We got the fresh herbs & mayo lobster rolls and they are rich/decadent and packed with tons of lobsters. I believe that they could have added some celery salt on top of the bun to give that extra kick/layer of flavour which would have been paired well with the lobster rolls. Nevertheless, the flavours were exquisite, and the portions were generous. The ambiance is a perfect blend of cozy and inviting especially with the high top table and bar seats. I appreciated the decor as well. It's unique in Victoria If you're a seafood lover, Shuck Taylor's is a must-visit. Highly recommend!!!

    Fried buffalo oysters

Stars of the show were the fresh shucked oysters with the freshly grated horseradish and the buffalo fried oysters. It was so good we ordered another round of both. It was on the Happy Hour menu. We went on a Sunday when they first opened. Shrimp cocktail and pickled veggies, steamer clams, and lobster roll were okay. The lobster roll would've tasted better if the bun was buttered and toasted a little more. This is a place we would definitely stop by each time we visit.

Freshly shucked oysters, delicious as always!

The vibe in the restaurant was nice. Felt like we were teleported away for a few hours. Everyone was chatting away eating. It was an open space, but not hard to have a conversation. Our waitress was prompt and attentive. She made great recommendations on wine and food. We ended up taking advantage of their special shared tapas menu for two at $59.50 CAD. I ordered some wine by the glass to go with some of the dishes. We didn't have any preference in the order, so our waitress brought things out as we finished. The spread included bacon wrapped stuffed dates, chorizo puffs, salad, veggies, croquettas, patatas bravas, prawns, beef short ribs, and a chocolate mousse-like dessert. Everything was so tasty! It starts off so well with the bacon wrapped stuff dates and you think there will be a dip in taste at some point. I believe the only dish we didn't finish were the veggies, done ratatouille style, we were pretty full so we chose not to finish this one and make sure we could eat dessert. She did figure out I was american when I tried to give her my credit card. I always forget they bring those credit card devices to your table outside the US. I would definitely go back to try some of the other menu options.

There was an interesting smell at the entrance when we first walked in, but luckily we were seated in the back room. As recommended, we ordered family style to try a variety of dishes. Endive salad - can't really go wrong with the classic combination of apple walnut and goat cheese, however many larger pieces of endive were quite bitter. tater tots - nice presentation with the cubes. The tots were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Paired well with the jalapeño ranch, and the lumpfish caviar was a fun addition. Beef tartare- the beef was fresh and flavor was good overall. However the toast was only cut in half, made it hard to eat or cut into. Middle of the toast also got a little too soft from the juice. Fried chicken - solid fried chicken, the meat is tender and well seasoned, crispy on the outside. The semolina cube didn't add much for me, but the 3 hot sauce added a nice balance of heat and acidity. Ling cod - The fish was tender and cooked well. Surprisingly, the cabbage really stood out. Service was a bit slow, we had to flag down our server for refills. Overall we enjoyed our meal, every dish was well prepared, but nothing truly stood out as memorable. We did appreciate it being farm-to-table, and the commitment to source ingredients locally.

The interior smelled a bit funny near the entrance but luckily we got sat down into the back room. The interior was a very dark, date night vibe. Endive 3/5. Not the biggest fan of the salad; they also picked some larger leaves of endive which made it bitter. It was a very light dish with the goat cheese, walnut, and apple. Tater tots 4/5. Fried potato hash brown cubes paired with a ranch sauce with lumpfish caviar. Decent dish, we enjoyed it but it could've used some acidity. Beef tartare 3.5/5. Solid tartare but the bread needed to be cut into more bite sized pieces and this style of bread also ended up soaking up a lot of the raw meat juices. Ling cod 4.5/5. The fish was tender and cooked well. The best item on this dish was the cabbage, which was very well seasoned. Fried chicken 4/5. Solid fried chicken paired with semolina cubes. Overall we enjoyed the meal. Not every dish was a hit but the farm to table concept is much appreciated for being in Victoria BC and sourcing meats and produce from nearby or in Abbotsford.
