The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not. Would I go back to Azayaka again? 100%. This would not discourage me from going back there any amount.

A particularly special moment--my 88-year-old father made the trip to Sacramento after seven years (his first visit since my mom passed) and he truly enjoyed the beef/salmon bento box.
