Fast friendly service from the server to the sushi chef Andrew. Thank you Andrew for making it a great experience at the sushi bar! Found this place as RA "Sushi" restaurant missed the mark on so many levels. Quaint and unpretentious Temari is fresh and fast. Good sushii in arizona is hard to find!

This location has been reported for health violations and now does not participate in the program. Previously had A ratings, for years. Just not the same.

The food was amazing! The renovation is stunning and super excited for their dessert they are coming out with soon! Open, Fresh, and clean inside! Waitress kept coming by to check in on me and offering any and all help! Will be back again and again! They tricked me by making the next dish better than the last. A local favorite and I've become a new regular.

The food was delicious and fresh. We got the garlic lover roll and the Hawaii 5-0 roll. We also had edamame that was delicious and served at the perfect temperature.

I've heard a lot of people talk about how this is some really good sushi and I must say it's pretty solid sushi. The fish tastes fresh and has a huge range of sushi. They even have a full kitchen if you don't want sushi too. The service is very on top of it and very nice. I enjoy the Japan decor throughout that gives me a taste of being back in Japan. As for the sushi, my recommendation is to order the US Open roll. Such a great roll that has a tasty lemon sauce with really fresh taste throughout. The mango roll was good but was a bit too saucy for my liking. All In all, this was some pretty delicious sushi that will bring me back. Also the pricing was too bad either.

I tried this sushi spot for the first time and absolutely loved it! I ordered two rolls and they were both amazing -- super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. While I was waiting, I saw the photos of their other rolls on the LED screen and they all looked incredible. I actually took pictures so I can remember which ones to try next! I'm definitely coming back to explore more of their menu. Highly recommend!

So I have been coming here for years and I was super sad when sake sold but I decided to give them a shot. i am excited to say the new owners and staff are wonderful. Anthony and Simon took great care of us. I haven't had yellow tail melt like that in my mouth in years. So good. Thank you guys.

I literally bought my house because this was around the block! The sushi is amazing. The staff is top-notch. The new hours are awesome.

THE best Sushi in AZ HANDS down. I want to gatekeep this place but they deserve all the recognition. The menu is endless and their specialty rolls are some of the best I've had. They do a lot of unique flavors and the owner even made us custom rolls after asking if we had ever been there before. There will most likely always be a wait (the restaurant is very small) but it's worth it.

For months, this location has been on a radar based on seeing various Yelp friends post about this…read morelocation. I was intrigued for both their sushi selection and their cocktail menu. I figured a Sunday afternoon would be calm, so I decided to pop in for a solo lunch. What I Ordered: - Yuzu Mule: The drink was delicious and refreshing, so I ordered a second one. Definitely order if I return as well. - Hamachi Lime Roll: This roll had an odd texture to me, and ultimately, I grabbed the rest to go as it was a little off putting to me. The flavor was decent though I found myself wishing there was more crunch with tempura flakes or panko bread crumbs on top. - Crazy Roll: The winner between the two rolls in terms of flavor and preference. Though, I wish this roll had the spicy mayo the other one had. I'd definitely order again and ask for a side of spicy mayo that I could add to the roll. Love the soy paper option! As for ambiance? I thought country music was an incredibly odd choice for this establishment hence the 4 stars versus 5 star review. I'd prefer more traditional Japanese music, or heck, even some J-Rock over American country music. I'm guessing Sunday afternoon is a slower time, so it was employee choice. Overall, I'd visit again when in the area and recommend to friends/family.

Course 1: Hamachi Peach Crudo peach amazu / pickled daikon/ smoked tomato oil / red pepper. This dish was right in my alley! I love Hamachi, and peach! And this is my first time having this combo in a crudo. It was many flavors all combined in one dish. 10/10 . **Please add this dish to your permanent menu! Course 2: Spicy Scallop Futomaki/hokkaido scallop / benishoga / chili crisp/ takuan / wasabi mayo. This roll tastes great, scallop tastes fresh and I love the way it was seasoned. However the rice around it was too much that I couldn't taste the scallop fully. I wouldn't get this dish again because of the rice around it was too much. Course 3: Ocean Trout Mi-Cuit/ okinawa potato croquette / citrus cream/fried capers / crispy salmon skin. I love the cream and the capers in this dish. The fish is seared. Although not much flavor in the fish itself but because of the sauce, it complements the dish well. Course 4: Dessert - Yuzu Lychee Sorbet/vanilla whisky hojicha granita. Oh my gosh, this is my favorite dish! It was so good and refreshing! The yuzu sorbet was tart and creamy. And the hojicha ice underneath was delicious! I would come back to the restaurant just for this dish and the first dish!

We walked in a weekday night and found the dining area quite small and full, except for their final open table next to the entrance. We took that spot and found out 'the hard way' they have those dastardly uncomfortable metal chairs. Not only is the seat firm and not cushioned, the bar that wraps around pinches in on your hip. We almost left but decided to tough it out. Our server was attentive and friendly and our order came out quite quickly. We ordered a few specialty rolls like their sweet potato roll, dragon roll and caterpillar roll. I also ordered a salmon sashimi. All of the rolls were well presented and best of all, tasty! It's not near the best sushi I've had, but it filled the craving we had. The wall murals and decor were simple but classy. We also noticed the noise level was good despite many people in a small space. Overall, this is a nice little neighborhood spot for sushi and worth a visit!

We arrived a little early, so they told us we could sit at the bar & have a drink. We sat there for 15+ minutes & the girl getting things ready for the bar totally ignored us. Right before we were seated someone else took our drink order & said she'd bring them to the table. Hubby got a beer & I got a Tito's & cranberry juice. We ordered an appetizer. While we were waiting they sat another 4 with us. We all expected dinner & a "show", but none of us expected the show we got. One of the staff started screaming at another staff member. We had no idea what the female staff member was saying since her words were not in English. She was so loud & screaming in the bar area so the entire restaurant could hear her. A couple of staff members tried to claim her dow. This went on for several minutes. It was crazy. All us customers were silent & just looking at the girl screaming & yelling. The next thing we know, round two. It was unbelievable. What was even crazier was they didn't send the staff member home! No one came over & said a word. No one apologized or said anything. After all of this, they sat couple with us. Finally the chef came to the table. By this time it was 20 til 6:00. Hubby got the filet with fried rice. I got the shrimp with fried rice. The food was good. However, hubby's steak was over cooked. Thankfully, hubby told the chef he wanted to change the steak from medium to medium rare, or it would have been even more over cooked. I also watch all of the employees but one prepping the food without gloves. This used to be our go to place for, but now with all this issues this time, we will probably have to find a new place.

One of my NYC coworkers mentioned Shimogamo, and I mentioned liking the Gilbert location a few weeks back. She reached out and made a reservation for 10-12 of us. I hadn't realized how small this location was, so it meant she rented the room for an exceptional exclusive dining experience! Things We Ordered I Tried: - Yuzu Mule: loved this drink at the Gilbert location, so I ordered again. Very refreshing and recommend if you like mules. - Hamachi Chili Lime Crudo: Great flavor and first time trying a crudo. I really liked the subtle heat and acidity of the citrus ponzu. - Crispy Truffle Crab: This was decent, but overall my least favorite of our starters & small bites. - Spicy Tuna Tartare: This was delicious and enjoyed the nori chips to serve the spicy tuna on. - Kagoshima Filet ($120): I'm sad to report... this was FANTASTIC. I wanted to hate it at the price point of $120, but it truly melts in your mouth. My first experience trying Wagyu and it was a A5 rating, which is the highest. Started with a bougie one it seems! - Tamago Roll: I do enjoy a tamago roll, and this was pretty good. - Crazy Roll: I enjoyed this at the Gilbert location, though I do still standby this could be elevated with a spicy mayo or topping. - Surf 'N Turf Roll: This was my favorite roll of the night! A5 Wagyu and shrimp tempura?! Heck yeah! Absolutely delicious, though I'm not a huge fan of mustard. Still a delicious roll and likely what I'd get if I returned. - Yuzu Mushrooms: One of the specials listed, and decent flavor. Though, I think I'd stick to rolls if returning. - Matcha Tiramisu: I was told this was a must order, but I'm truly baffled at this desert. This is more like a no bake cheesecake and not a tiramisu. The red bean paste was an odd texture at the bottom and very hard to get your spoon all the way down to get all the elements of the dessert. - Mango Kakigori: Very light and refreshing! A hit with the team, and we had three to share. Shout out to Matthew for an amazing experience! Very attentive and appreciated the suggestions, while helping ensure we met the spend requirement for renting the room ($1200). What a truly magic night that made us feel like VIP!

This time it was lunch, so it was nice and bright. The service was wonderful!! I did not catch their names, but the the gentleman and lady who served us were very helpful. We ordered 3 of the Steamed Buns: Pork Belly, Hot Chicken, and the Bun of the Moment, which happened to be Drunken Shrimp, I believe. I didn't taste the Hot Chicken, but the other two were super tasty!! Portions were great and every morsel was devoured. The Krazy Fries were damn delicious!! Packed full of flavor and very filling, it's a great dish to be shared. I can't pass up pork belly!! Lol I forgot what drink my friend ordered, but I had no shame and had the Pornstar Martini, yessir!!! It was quite comical when our server mentioned that most people are embarrassed to order it because of its name, but I proudly said it loud and clear! That drink was perfect for brunch/lunch! Overall it was a great visit, minus the twitching fly that was on our table after we were seated. We didn't know if it was half dead or what, but my friend just swiped it across the table until it fell off. I'm not sure they have any control over flies coming into the restaurant as people enter and exit, but it was off putting to have to shoo them away while you're having a meal and trying to converse. Other than that fly issue, the visit was solid. Prices aren't bad and there's a big parking lot outside the establishment as well as a public parking garage not far away. I highly recommend Clever Koi if you've never been!
