Funny enough, I was looking for a spot to meet up with a friend over drinks and I had this bookmarked, so I suggested this spot. I did not realize how fancy this rooftop bar was and only found out what I just got myself into when I got to the front entrance of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Not complaining! Maybe my wallet is. I came with no reservations on a Monday evening, but they let us in as the bar area was on a first-come first-served basis. Once we were escorted to the elevator and got to the 50th floor, we were pretty amazed by how luxurious everything was. Windows are all floor to ceiling, so the panorama view of the city skyline from this vantage point is pretty breathtaking. Drinks will go for about $30 on average, which is very steep. I guess that's what you pay for when you have a view and you're in a luxury branded hotel. Still cheaper than Peacock Alley over at the Waldorf Astoria, so I guess that's a plus. I got the Foggy Hill, which is a mezcal based drink. They do this fancy smoke show in front of you as well for the presentation (Instagram). It's a well made drink. The bartenders are super nice as well. I personally think it's an experience worth having once to enjoy the space, views, while sipping on a well made cocktail. read more

Nubeluz! Such a gem and a solid spot for outstanding drinks, sweet service, and city views! This is located on the rooftop of Ritz Carlton Nomad and such a wonderful spot for enjoying it all. Our server was attentive and friendly and the appetizers we had were top notch and tasty. Cocktails were flowing with my group and each drink had its own flair and some with extra presentation which was entertaining. The Thursday night I came it also made for great people watching around 4th of July weekend. With the heatwave the outside was originally closed off but opened later on and provided even more varying skyline views from both sides of the rooftop. The experience at NUBELUZ was amazing totally magical. The view of New York City was tremendous. We were on the 50th floor mind you I'm afraid of heights, however, sitting and looking out the window while having tea was definitely a wonderful time. I've had my eye on this place for quite awhile, so it was perfect for a belated birthday outing. Located inside the Ritz Carlton hotel. The views are amazing from the moment you get upstairs. I had a skyline window seat, which requires $90 pp, which is vey easy once you see the menu. The service was excellent, they are extremely attentive, the drinks come out quick and I may have had the greatest grilled cheese sandwich ever here. When I critique rooftop bars and other view-centric spots, I always want to assess whether the place banks on the view to overcome shortcomings and price gouging. This place is worth every penny, and there are no shortcomings (well, unless I want to gripe that we couldn't go outside due to the snow and ice, but I can't blame the establishment for what Mother Nature does ). Celebrated Mom's 80th birthday with High Tea @ Nubeluz. We've taken her to The Plaza before so it's a tall order for comparison. The space is amazing and they reserved the corner banquette for us and boy, what a View!! That is worth the price of admission, as they say. What wasn't great was the valet parking at the Ritz Carlton Nomad and they were so backed up and wouldn't let me get in line. I had to leave my mom, sister and daughters curbside and venture to park elsewhere. It took me 25minutes. During that time my family ordered their tea so mine arrived and cooked by the time I arrived and parked 4 blocks away. As for the food, I'd say it was tasty, but not memorable. And hopes to have had more savory sandwiches and treats than sweets. And there was definitely not enough of either. We all were hungry after, unfortunately. For the price, and we thought it included the champagne (it wasn't! 3 glasses of Taittingers was $108) So it was added to the bill -- we were so surprised. For these reasons I have to give a 3 But it was the service and the view that stood out the best. Appreciated the manager taking our photos out on the balcony and my mother loves the attention. But, I felt it could have been a lot better experience considering this is at a Ritz Carlton. I lived in Hong Kong and have been to high tea there at that Ritz Carlton. Probably more like a 3.7. We went for the high tea with Santa, somewhat misnamed because it's really an afternoon tea. They seemed disorganized when we arrived. We were given instructions to sit down and wait, but it didn't seem like there was anyone really in charge. After about 20 minutes, a line seemed to appear to be escorted up the elevator to Nubeluz. Nothing was really organized, then we got another line. We were offered amazing seats right by the window and the views are spectacular. The service upstairs was friendly and attentive. The mixed drink was great. We had afternoon tea and it was OK. Nothing amazing. Not really on par with what I've had in London, and Boston.. it was good though, and I would go back for the views. So I've been to this spot three times now and I can honestly say I've had a different experience each time that I've gone. First off, the space is gorgeous. Think rich crimson velvet, mirrored cocktail tables, and sultry dark wood with an under lit bar. Suggested attire is cocktail and it's definitely one of those places where you could get as dressed up as you'd like. One time I saw a woman in a ball gown and she did not look one bit out of place. They do adhere to a strict dress code, especially for men, so I wouldn't wear jeans or any type of athleisure shoe. When you head in, walk past the front desk check-in area and go to the hostess stand on the left. Once you're granted access, the elevator will whisk you upstairs where you are greeted by another host who will seat you. There are two outdoor lounge spaces on either ends of the room. If you're looking at the bar and facing downtown, the lounge area to the left will not have a view of Times Square whereas the one to the right does. Both spaces have a great view of downtown and the Empire State building. I can't speak to the food as we've only been for drinks. Most of the time I usually order a gin on the rocks, but the past two times I got the brown butter cocktail. The first time it was amazing but the second time there was way too much lemon. When I spoke to the waitress, I learned that they batch these cocktails, which should not be done at that price point. If I'm paying almost $30 for a cocktail, it should be freshly made. I definitely suggest making a reservation on weekends! I've heard them quote 2 to 3 hour wait times. read more

From the moment I walked in I knew this restaurant was giving an elevated dining experience. From the views to the overall vibe of the restaurant it was perfect. Kept it light with a caviar bump and lobster rolls. My friend and I were there for a catch up session so drinks and light bites were all we needed. Admittedly my 1st caviar jump experience and I liked it! Salty is the best way to describe the consistency and or taste. The lobster rolls weren't anything to brag about, pretty standard but they were good and I'd recommend. Nubeluz is one of my favorite rooftop bars in the city. It's centrally located on top of the Ritz-Carlton New York, Nomad, with incredible views of the city, both from indoors and outdoors. The outdoor space isn't large, but you have amazing views of the Empire State Building, as well as downtown Manhattan. On a clear day, you can see the beautiful sunset and even the moon, when it's visible. The food and drinks are not inexpensive, but they're good and you are here for the atmosphere and views. It can get a bit loud and busy at night, especially on weekends. But it does have an upscale atmosphere and vibe, and is the perfect place to impress a date :) read more

My first reaction walking into this lounge : STUNNING. It's a beautiful indoor roof lounge overlooking so much of Manhattan. It's definitely a spot to bring friends, a date, clients, you name it! Last night my friend and I planned to come in for drinks, but we were turned away at the entrance. We were told that the venue strictly enforces a 21+ policy, which is completely understandable if that's the rule. However, the issue was not the policy it was the attitude. The receptionist was extremely condescending and spoke to my friend in a disrespectful and humiliating manner. There is a professional way to communicate rules, and unfortunately this was not it. We were a party of 4. 2 stuck to beer while my wife and I did cocktails which they're known for. As it was for my birthday they gave us a free dessert and glass of wine. Famous people were there. It's a place to be seen with amazing international 70s and 80s music. Think disco. Service and ambiance was incredible with a stunning backdrop of Manhattan. Photos didn't come out great. Nubeluz has above average views and average drinks, food and services. Basically the only draw here is the location and the views. If Nubeluz was a standard bar on the ground floor, I don't think anyone would even bat an eye at this place. I made a reservation a few weeks advance for a Friday night so had no issue getting a table. You check in at the Nubeluz desk in the lobby and then you go up in the elevator to the 31st floor. The space is gorgeously decorated and as mentioned, the views are key here. Multiple reviews mention bad service and I can see why. While we did not experience "bad" service, the service was very average for the attempted caliber of this lounge. Servers did not seem interested or passionate about the drinks or food offerings. They were very to the point and didn't linger much for conversation. I had a Pisco Punch and my friend had the Arborea. The drinks were fine, but nothing outstanding or memorable. We split a grilled cheese, which was pretty good but priced at $22 for 4 small pieces. The overall food offerings are minimal and not so much vegetarian or vegan friendly. Those cones they mention on the menu are so small, a toddler wouldn't even be satisfied either one. While there's a lot of staff, I didn't see much attention paid to tables. Generally the staff seemed absent other than to take your order or drop off a check. They also became more present when they were trying to annoy you to either order another drink or close out. They were very good about staying on top of that if nothing else. I paid with the InKind app and received $25 off my bill which I highly recommend doing. The clientele at this place was interesting. It definitely felt like a place where disingenuous people looking for "cool" Instagram photos come to. A lot of lip filler, Fashion Nova clothes and fake smiles throughout the night. Two women held up the bathroom line taking selfies together. This place is very much a "scene". There is a dress code and I guess it's observed? I came in dress pants and a turtleneck and a trench coat. I did observe a hostess kind of look me and my friend up and down before escorting us inside. Though I felt like I saw at least one guy wearing cargo pants but the Carhartt look is in I suppose. Would I come back? Yeah I would for the views. I wouldn't have more than one drink though and I'd make sure to eat a full meal before. If you want something classy with better drinks, service and food, I highly suggest Little Ned down the street. Update: came back for their afternoon tea service and this reservation was easy to grab. the views are so incredible and the vibes are 100000/10! the teas were incredible. i got a fruity one and loved it - the options were many the savory bites kept getting better and better. jose andres is known for his cones so im glad we got to enjoy a cone as well. especially loved the lobster roll! the scones were delicious and the butter / jam paired incredibly here. for the rest of the desserts i was very disappointed- the flavors were all a miss - very high taste of ginger and cinnamon that didnt blend well. i think they were going for holiday desserts but it didnt stick. i finished none of the desserts and left then to be discarded since i really couldnt stand the flavors /: because of the desserts unfortunately i will not recommend nor return for afternoon tes but will recommend for a quick drink read more
