    Lavender signature cocktail (presentation 1)

Service was nice and they are running a promotion with $9 spritz all day I tried 2 both preferred the Aperol one. I wish they had some sorth of AC, fans only were not enough to combat the summer heat, other than that our experience was pretty good. We tried the burger and oysters all was well made.

I hear it's a pop up restaurant in the roof of Eataly. Decor is changed often I hear. The day we went was Lemons. So pretty. Plenty of spots to pose for yr IG. Happy Hour m-f from 3-6pm. Nice cocktail menu n snacks. I'd def come back. Reservations suggested bc it can get busy.

Serra by Birreria has been on the bucket list for a while before going. We stumbled upon it super randomly. It's at the rooftop for eatly by Flat Iron. It's absolutely beautiful, with so much greenery. The rooftop is closed so it's perfect for colder weathers. I got the crab cakes, and it was okay! Nothing too crazy or too wowing, but I enjoyed it. We also got the steak and eggs and the steak was cooked perfectly. I really liked the fries for the sides!

Good lunch special and option for fresh Italian food in Flatiron. Eataly is truly an institution and having access to their rooftop is something that New Yorkers and tourists entertain. Reservations are recommended and the space is well decorated and Instagram worthy. Service is thoughtful and the $27 lunch is worth stopping in.

Came to the Amalfi rooftop restaurant on a Thursday afternoon for lunch with co-workers! It was absolutely spectacular. Very busy so definitely make a reservation. Unfortunately after we were seated, our server disappeared for over 20 minutes. Another server came over and asked if we had been helped then proceeded to take our drink orders. His name was Robinson, he was wonderful!! He provided incredible drink recommendations and even offered to whip up something limoncello based (besides their signature spritz) that we would love. Multiple people at the table ordered this mystery lemon drink and they all said it was fantastic! FOOD: As a picky eater, the menu was a bit complex for me. I ended up ordering the Ravioli Di Zucca which was a nice portion of sweet squash stuffed ravioli. No meat. It was a light dish with minimal dairy. Perfect for lunch. Absolutely incredible. ATMOSPHERE: While this is a rooftop restaurant, I should note that it's very toasty inside. If you're looking for a rooftop in NYC that you can enjoy without a coat, this is your place! While the restaurant was heated and fully enclosed, there was no absence of natural light and sunshine. Wonderful day time vibes. OVERALL: Great atmosphere. Incredible food. Make a reservation in advance. Huge shout out to Robinson for making our experience here extra special. Can't wait to come back!

Stumbled across this place exploring and we were pleasantly surprised. I couldn't pronounce any of the dishes lol so you can show the picture and ask what it was because I don't know what it was called but it was delicious so was the fried asparagus! So good

Unfortunately, this place has dropped in quality since my last visit. The menu isn't as big (and they changed what used to be my favorite dish here), and the food wasn't as good as the last time. Besides the cool ambiance, I don't think there's anything that would draw me back to this place again, which is sad, because my wife and I loved our first visit here.

Brunch at Serra was divine! The burrata was amazing! Everything was so fresh and the sauce that they used was delicious! The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente! The portions seem little but you'll be stuffed by the end of it. I do think that this place can be a little touristy so it was a little crowded (def make a resy before coming).

This is a great place to take out of town guests if you are walking around Flatirom or taking them to Eataly. The menu and theme change. They typically decorate and serve dishes from a particular region of Italy.

I've been here twice now and here's a simple, honest review: Food: just okay. too expensive to not be great. Service: Friendly and polite but takes forever (both times I went for a lunch break and ended up being gone 2 hours from the office). Decor/Vibes: The best part - super cute - but don't expect to have views of the city.

Eataly's rooftop bar is a convenient option for getting a break from the buzz of Madison Square Park and Flatiron just below. It's a popular spot, reservations are essential unless you're hoping to gamble on bar seating, which is first come, first served. The setting is nice, with themed decor and lots of light owing to the semi-covered roof. Service was also great, which was even more impressive given how busy they were. The food itself is the reason for 3/5 stars. It was good, not great. The pizza fritta was fine, but pretty bland. The dough had little flavor or texture going for it, and the marinara sauce was okay. Cheese was an afterthought for the dish. The tagliolini al limon was a pretty forgettable dish -- pasta was cooked well, but it was otherwise bland. The mafaldine was good, the pork ragu was excellent. At least one of our dishes finally had some flavor! Overall, this is a spot with fun vibes, but don't expect to be blown away by the food when you visit.

take elevators up to 14th floor then around the corner...

Um yea, go for the ambiance and decent service, but I do not recommend the food for the price. I don't know that I've paid $33 +tax and tip for brunch and left a restaurant so hungry before.* Came with a few friends for a girls brunch on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was pretty empty, about 15% occupied. It took a while to locate since the entrance is inside Eataly and you have to find the elevator to go to the 14th floor. More confusing is the restaurant is currently called "Alpina" (they redid all the signs and decor for the winter months apparently), so you don't see signs for Serra anywhere. The decor is gorgeous, you feel like you're in a garden. They put a lot of emphasis on tying the entire scheme together. The coffee was just ok, being it was a restaurant associated with Eataly, I was surprised they don't actually offer coffee drinks aside from a regular espresso $4, cappuccino $5 and latte $5. These were served true to sizes in Italy, quite small, like 5oz for a cappuccino. They had milk substitutes (oat and almond) available, and at least they didn't charge extra for those. The rest of the menu looked promising however I prob should've read the reviews in advance. When the food came out basically all the portions are on the meager side, and flavor-wise pretty mid. The crab cakes $28 came with two cakes, each were the size of silver dollar, with some frisée for salad, the pasta portions were like 1/2 to 2/3 what I normally see at normal Italian restaurants. I'll give them that the ingredients were fresh, and the desserts seemed ok (I didn't try the tiramisu or coppetta al cioccolato that our table ordered), but I definitely left disappointed. *after the meal I happened to take medicine that needed to be taken with food and it started giving me heartburn, because there was barely anything in my stomach. Had to go elsewhere and pick up some additional food.

I think you really only come here for the ambiance. Came for the restaurant pre-fixe menu for $26 and the food was ok. Disappointed because I used to love Eataly in college but maybe it's changed. Ordered the cacio e Pepe rice balls which first came out with the a block on cheese inside that should've been melted, the spaghetti which was fine and the ravioli which was also fine.

Ask the Community - AMALFI Rooftop by Birreria

What is the dress code? Can I wear dark jeans?

Totally casual ... there were people in shorts when we went

I couldn't tell from photos, but is the rooftop completely enclosed or is there open space? Wondering for Covid safety and air circulation. Thanks.

The roof is completely closed, but the glass ceiling allows light to come in. It does get a bit chilly so would recommend bringing a jacket.

Do you have to be vaccinated?

NY no longer requires vaccination cards to enter restaurants, but restaurants are given the choice to mandate it. That said, they didn't ask us for vaccination cards on the day we went.

I have heard more great reviews about the ambiance than the food. Will the restaurant simply let you go there for a pic or just a shared dessert?

I went last week to grab drinks at the bar (not dinner) and was told I needed reservations. I then asked if I could take pictures and was denied. Beautiful place. Make a reservation though in advance. They do walk ins but wait is long. We were…

Can't see Any vegan options... do u allow substitutions?

Since there are lots of pastas and salads, it wouldn't be hard to find vegan options. But any time you're making substitutions I think it's best to call the restaurant directly and ask them specific questions about the menu.

Is there any sort if cooling? We have a reservation on a night it's going g to be over 90. U sure if it will be comfortable.

We were up there on a hot day, and it was pretty warm. They do have fans but it's not great. That aside, I still really enjoyed the experience we had there and we had a great server.

How safe is it during COVID, especially people who went during this warmer weather?

Tables are well distanced, more than 6 feet. People have to wear masks when they get up from their tables.

Is there a bar you can sit at?

Yes! It's a first come first serve basis

Is this 21 and up only?

No it's a restaurant that anyone can go to and they allow children

Do you need a reservation to come here for brunch?

I don't think is required, but absolutely recommended otherwise you will be waiting and may not even get seated depending on when you arrive.

    Is the rooftop airconditioned?

    It is scorching hot!!!!!

Are there any vegetarian options for the entree besides a salad?

there is a cheese platter, but it's not that great

    Are the flowers real?

    No they are not

Do they have lunch pre fix menu?

No. The menu remains the same for all meals.

    Are well behaved dogs allowed?

Is there a corkage fee if a bottle of wine is brought?

Not sure if they allow to bring your own wine at all.

Can you just grab drinks or do you have to order food also?

There is a separate bar and dining area. With Covid regulations I'm not sure if you can order just drinks but in regular times you can.

Does this place allow baby stroller in?

We brought ours and they were happy to accommodate.

Is the roof closed in the fall/winter when it's cold? And can you go just for drinks?

The roof was covered when I went in March and open when I went in August - so I think they cover and uncover the roof seasonally.…

Is this a place you can go to casually dressed?

    Yes

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
