This is a super friendly and well merchandised store. The meat department is quick and the butchers are helpful. Easy to get to in a rather eclectic small shopping center, I like this store a lot. I shop at the Nugget Market of Tiburon. The products are great but the staff are over the top. They are there with big smile to welcome and help you. I have had great experience each time that I needed extra help with my orders at the Deli or the meat department. Jazzmen the manager is most helpful , professional and pleasant. Needed puff pastry. I know what to look for in the frozen dessert section and only saw FILO dough. It isn't the same as puff pastry sheets. I am checking out with Michelle K(her first day on the job) commenting they didn't have puff pastry. She asked some one else who didn't know and then Mary M said she thought she saw it. I said please prove me wrong. She did. She came back with both the sheet and cup version. I asked her were it was. Right near the FILO dough. This is what makes Nugget a find! Nugget is a good market. If you've been to other grocery stores nearby, I'd describe it as a cross between Woodlands and Safeway. The general selection isn't as good as Safeway and the deli is not as good as Woodlands. This is perfect for a neighborhood market, but I couldn't do all of my shopping here. Passable boutique convenience market that covers all bases: butcher, seafood, produce, deli, bakery. Item/brand selection is limited. Imo too pricey for daily shopping but for those don't have to adhere to a budget it's fine. Deli is weak. I'm not a hater it's just that nothing stands out as anything special. The best store! I love the vibe here. All of the staff are so cheerful and the customer service is tops! They are also consistent among all of their locations. Great selection of everything they sell. They have even rare brands that I've never heard of and it's fun to try them. They have yummy recipes that are free to try out too. This market fits all of my shopping needs, minus a few items here and there. It's smaller but packed with great stuff. The customer service is OUTSTANDING and everyone here is genuinely friendly. They treat every transaction with kindness and efficiency, which is sometimes tough to balance. The produce is always fresh and there's a great selection here. I make smoothies with green chard and their selection is always bright and vibrant. They have a good mix of organic and non-organic which I like. They also have well-priced packaged stuff, love the jicama sticks. I juice a lime over that with some Tajin and voila, the perfect snack. The section overall is tinier than you'll find in other stores, but it's well-stocked and fresh. The meat counter is also very friendly and they'll give you advice on how to cook certain pieces. While I think Mollie Stones's has a wider selection, this is a good option if you don't want to drive to Sausalito. They have Mary's Chicken in the freezer right next to the meat counter, and even ground chicken! The meats are fresh and don't go bad the next day (looking at you Whole Foods!). I also love their soups, it's always tasty! The broccoli cheddar is hands down my fave and I often have that for dinner. Speaking of, they have really good meal options and it's tasty- meaning I don't have to add a ton of spices to make it palatable. The rosemary flank steak is pretty good, as is the herb chicken breast with veggies. They also add some ethnic dishes which I appreciate. The deli counter is great too, there's one guy who's meticulous about the slices and I love it. I've tried the hot bar a couple of times and that was tasty too. The only thing I don't buy from here is the rotisserie chicken, I think Mollie Stone's has the best in town and I'm ok with that. They also have Jeni's ice-cream and Halo birthday cake. YUM! Overall, I can get most of my shopping here at a reasonable price and I love that! I tend to stick to this market and Mollie's, with the occasional jaunt to Trader Joe's for the frozen stuff I like (hello green chili Mac and cheese!). Oh, they also take Apple Pay. I've lived in the area for a couple of years now, and was not a big fan of the grocery story until they changed to Nugget (I think they were Paradise foods before.) They changed over about 6 months ago, maybe a bit more, and have made very welcome additions and changes to the store including layout, selection, people, appearance. The meat department changed in a very positive direction, and it feels more welcoming, and they have a good selection of ready-to-cook prepped items as well as chops and steaks. Excellent weekly deals on various things that I've wanted to try but not at the original price point -- example is locally made calabrese sausage links for $5/lb that are usually much more. The deli is more inviting, as well, and there is better signage to guide you. Better quality and presentation, and excellent sandwich options including grilled panini. If you are price-sensitive, look elsewhere -- premium prices befitting the premium products is what to expect. Overall a nice place to shop weekly! read more

"Have you been helped" "Hi sir have you been helped" This store is doing it right. The food is normal, healthy, and much like many grocery stores in the area. They do seem to be much cheeper 25% cheeper in some areas but its the service that wins me over each time. There i no wondering up and down because some one will instantly ask to help you right when you walk in. The shopping experience is made great and is now the only store i got to for food. Nugget Markets is a super "cute" grocery store with an amazing produce section. It's definitely not the cheapest grocery store in the world, but it's not trying to be that. I love the focus on organic and local merchandise. It was a great stop for breakfast and snacks on our way to Napa from SF. read more

This is not where I shop because they just don't have enough organic food to make it worthwhile. Good Earth is Tam Valley is where we go. However that said, Nugget does have some organic items when we need one or two things, we'll shop there. The staff at Nugget are the friendliest and most thoughtful people I have ever met in a market. Everyone goes out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. Whomever the management of this store is, you are good people and we really respect you for creating such a great workplace for your employees and a pleasant attractive store in which to shop. If anyone has moved to the Tiburon area, I would suggest using the two markets I mentioned. The Safeways are more interested in forcing customers to use self check out and other labor saving scams and selling food that's just OK. read more

I don't think I have ever had an experience in a grocery store where the staff are not just nice, but often genuinely happy. These people know how to manage a grocery store. Kevin B. said it well..."and despite the unfortunate name..." Really, very unfortunate name. It's not convenient for me to shop at either location in Marin but every time I shop there I am impressed by how much better this store is since they took over from Paradise Market. Fast Forward: I just found this post I wrote at least 2 months ago and decided to finish. I stopped in about a month ago for one of their great sandwiches. Was really annoyed when I got back to work to find they used the stale ends of the bread from where the package was open among other things that didn't go well during the ordering process. (I like these people so I won't mention the other things) Someone I worked with laughed and said she never gets sandwiches there for the same reason. She had 2 sandwiches with stale bread ends. I threw the bread away and ate my sandwich insides with a fork. Not the lunch I was planning. I wrote a letter to let them know what happened and the manager wrote back thanking me for writing and I trust that he corrected some of the things that happened while I was there. In the letter he said to come back into the store and find him, if I couldn't find him, ask for someone else, and if that person wasn't available I was to go to the deli and request a refund. Are you kidding me? What crazy customer service is that? I am not going back to hunt down a manager to get a refund on a $7.00 sandwich. That is just ridiculous. Send a gift card in the future if you are offering a refund. Don't make it harder for a customer. It's still a well-run store, other than my deli experience. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch while working in the area. I loaded up a medium sized to go box at the self serve salad bar. The mixed greens were hardly fresh and about 20% of the items were out of stock. No problem. I can live with that. I was shocked when I checked out. It was $20. Really? I commented to the cashier about a $20 salad and he said "it adds up fast". That's my last salad at Nugget. No value. I could have gone to any of the adjacent restaurants and been served a fancy salad and been out the door for less than $20 - including tip. read more

We are lucky to be able to walk to Nugget in Tiburon. Customer service is outstanding...staff always say hello and asks about how our dogs are doing. The selection is great and varied with loads of organic items. If you want something there and they don't have it, they will go above and beyond to help get it. We shop at Tam Valley's Good Earth also, but the prices at Nugget are much better for the same items. SOOO glad Nugget is in my neighborhood!!! read more

My family moved to Tiburon a little more than three years ago. One of our best finds was Nugget. We started going to the Safeway nearby and always hated the experience from the horrible parking lot to the angry checkers and LONG lines (at all times)...it was awful. Nugget is the opposite of that. The checkers are so nice and always quick to smile and ask how you're doing. The store is not as big as Safeway (that's a good thing) and really well laid out. The produce is great and fresh. And their fresh sushi is genuinely awesome...hard to believe from a grocery store! If it is a little costlier than Safeway, so be it...I would always pay more for great customer service and that's what you will get at Nugget. read more

Nice market and I've shopped there a lot since they took over the location. I'd been a regular at the prior supermarket also. My beef is how they treated me and the managers attitude my last time there. I wanted to cash a check for $20 over. They called the manager over and the first thing he noticed was that I didn't have my street address on my check, just Sausalito. Well , who in their right mind, and especially when you are a Senior Citizen would have a street address on your check? I don't drive anymore so I don't have a drivers license but did have a US Passport although it was expired as I don't plan to travel out of the country anymore. Well, the manager acted like I was some sort of criminal or bad check artist! The surprising thing is that if you deal a lot with the public, you can spot an honest face but the manager looked at me and said that he was protecting me from fraud if it was a stolen check. One thing I know for sure is that I do have quite an honest face and most people throughout the years have spotted that right away. In the store that was here before I wrote a number of checks even for $50 or $60 over my purchase and the cashiers never once asked me for identification. So, guess where I won't shop anymore? That's right, I'll spend my money where I'm treated well. It's their loss not mine. read more

Grocery shopping is a treat here! Jazzmen is an absolutely wonderful manager, thoughtful, efficient and runs a great store! The staff are terrific- so friendly and helpful! Emma- the assistant manager is just great! Whenever I ask about a food favorite she finds out about it and then is stocked. The friendliness of Brian, all the cashiers, and the entire team do everything possible to assist with your every need -always with a smile! Catering has provided me with appetizing delicious food on several occasions. I miss the old Paradise Market!!!! Great selection of everything as well nice people. And they had the best fried chicken in MARIN for the takeout. Now this Nugget is getting worse and worse. They not only make it chintzier with lower quality products but their weekly deals constantly run out of product. One time, they were out of 3 of the 4 sale items on the first day of the sale! My kid Marlette almost cried when she got two scoops that were smaller than a single scoop from before! They get 1 * for a decent meat butcher as the steaks are pretty darn good. And one more * for friendly staff. But please don't keep lowering the standards and make it a Lucky's. read more
