Nu look is one of my favorite of many deli's in lic I have been coming here since it opened it up and I never really had a problem with service with the quality of the food and I love the area around it Vernon is one of my favorite places to go. Whenever I have the chance I always go to nu look especially if I'm around the area and honestly it's one of the only deli's I can order from on Sundays if I have to work that day. My favorite meal to get is a chicken cutlet on a hero salt pepper mayo on top of the food being delicious the deli also it has Korean choice inside On top of the food already being good especially with all of the choices of drinks and snacks they also have a buffet I don't know the price of it but that's always an option if you don't want a sandwich or Korean food inside I never had any issues never gottten sick from the food ether I highly recommend it if you are in Vernon please stop by and get yourself something to eat and theirs also a eating area upstairs. I will never support this business again. On April 3, 2026, I visited the establishment and inquired about the availability of a bathroom. The cashier was extremely rude, stating that the store was only for customers. I explained that I intended to make a purchase but needed to use the ladies' room first. Her response was that I should buy something before she would give me the key. Who would say such a thing and expect you to take your purchased items into the bathroom, which is unsanitary, especially when handling food? I wondered if she would have reacted the same way if I were not black; this place exhibits racism. As a senior black woman, I find it ridiculous that this establishment treats customers and seniors in such a manner. She has just lost a customer. I have tried the Italian and bologna sandwich. I have come back multiple times for the bologna sandwich...I am prob the only person ordering this. Decent amt of meat and delicious!! Bologna sandwich was about 7 bucks and extra 60 cents for cheese. The Italian sandwich had a decent amt of meat as well but there was a little too much vinegar. Walked in with hopes to order food, naturally. Was ignored for about 15 minutes before walking out disappointed. I honestly think they had better food before they opened Nulook. I do still enjoy getting breakfast in the morning though. Like to get here around 7:30 to beat the morning crowd. Like that they have the breakfast hot food table and oatmeal but only got oatmeal once and it was ok. Lunch time I do enjoy the hot table but wish they made more variety. I recently found out that you can get an egg sandwich for $2.50 at Nulook deli. They have good customer service, being open 24 hours on weekdays and till 11pm on weekends. I tried the egg, bacon, tomato, lettuce, and cheese roll and it was freshly made and delicious. However, adding meats like bacon and turkey sausage is an extra $2 each, so it might be more cost-effective to stick with the egg roll or save the money. Despite this, the sandwich is still cheaper than other places in the area. The staff is efficient and the atmosphere is quiet. Don't want to dock them because they're a deli, and it's incredible that they even offer Korean food. The tofu stew is actually not bad given that (a) it's from a deli and (b) they whip it up in a couple of minutes in front of you. Sure the soup is not super cohesive (stock and tofu feel very much like separate components), and you're not getting any fancy seafood, but it hits the spot when a craving for tofu stew suddenly hits you and you're stuck in LIC. Likes - fresh juices, good prices, clean atmosphere Dislikes - inconsistency of prices from the deli counter (ordered my baconeggandcheese a few times and was charged different 3/5 times), covert racist customer service (accepted some customers paying with card under $10 and not others), iced coffee is inconsistently in terms of strength...2/5 times really weak. Good little local place with a HUGE menu. Food was prepared on site and quickly and overall priced right. Service was friendly and prompt. The upstairs dinning room was a nice bonus if you didn't want to take it to go. Bathrooms and the rest of the place were very clean. Been eating at this deli for 4+ years as I work in the area. I've ordered a lot of the same thing time and time again because its good and I enjoy it. Sandwiches, soups, and salads are a goto. Ever since Covid, the consistency has been very weird on their soups especially the Udon. It quite literally tastes like vegetable water. It's so bland and has zero flavor whatsoever. Go to place for lunch lately. Smoothie bar is great. Plenty of seating upstairs. A bit on the more expensive side but I expect that for the area. They have a hot food bar which usually has the same food. Which is kind of a bummer. But they also do hot sandwiches and salads however you want them. Lots of organic stuff. I stop in here 2-3 times a week and The staff are always super friendly and helpful. This place has everything you could want in a deli. There are hot foods you can pick on your own and weigh to pay at the register. Several coolers for any drinks you can think of. The guys behind the food counter are amazingly quick and there is also a wide selection of specialty sandwiches or breakfast items. The coffee is always fresh. The people that work there seem nice. Reliable for a lunch sandwich, but don't get too fancy, and it's not epic specialty fare. A lot of items (chips, refrigerator beverages, front-of-the-counter items) are not on the menu if you are on Seamless, but they are willing to read requests in the notes as long as an extra charge is OK. I don't understand why the reviews are so terrible! I love stoping by here on the way home from the 7 train (it's literally right across the street from the station) to either pickup a salad or some Korean tofu stew. I like making my own salad here and it usually comes to 8 dollars and change. Tofu stew is also affordable at about 10 dollars after tax. The food is good and often fresh, great for on the go, they are pretty quick, coffee is meh, customer service very poor. I was charged a different price for a sandwich in the span of two days. I have repetitively requested the lady at the cash register multiple times to leave some space at the top for coffee so it does not spill. She keeps telling me the price would stay the same, to which i assured her I had no problem with. But doesn't end up listening to the instructions anyway . Just to begin , the cooks staff employees are full on number 1. Food is great as always. I work in a deli , I made a Yelp just to mention this one tall Asian guy who wears the same Yankee hat backwords everyday. I honestly don't know what his problem is with me but I've been going to this deli way before he was even working there. The first controversy I had with him, it was 100 degrees outside and I was standing outside with no shirt on had just finished playing basketball. He came out to tell me to put a shirt on. So I did just because I was with my girlfriend. Cool. Second time I spoke to one of the cooks, asked him for a Ham and cheese sandwich sliced thin please. He took matters into his own hands and took some pre cut ham which was defff not thin at all ( I saw him make the sandwich) . Then he felt all cool saying it was ready and when the cook told him he said to cut it thin, his response was "that's as thin as it gets and stared at the sandwich" . Like I said I work in a deli I know what thin is . Well today I came in to order a bacon egg and cheese, I got attended quick like always as the cooks are really fast and efficient. He was working the register , he took one glance at as soon as I was going to pay for my breakfast meal, he turned away and started looking at a Grubhub order which wasn't ready, I know it wasn't ready because the delivery guy had asked before me . So why start making a hot cup of coffee if the order is gonna be 10min longer? It's nonsense, so he cut me off and ignored me, while he's watching the coffee drip he could have easily charged me. I'm just saying , the lady next to him is making 3 cups of coffee making smoothies AND SHE TURNED AROUND AND CHARGED ME. I'm sick of this guy. Tried this place with a friend for lunch and had a sandwich from there. My friend tried the korean soup. I ended up getting norovirus from eating there so I will never go back again. Not sure if it's a food issue or the employees aren't washing their hands but anyway I don't give second chances to places that cause me to puke and s@$t my guts out. read more

It's very simple nu look's staff and owner needs to understand that their employment and business survives on the LIC Community. When a local business calls almost daily to place a company lunch order if something goes wrong the response should be apologetic and not "we dont need your business." In a nut shell we placed the order, someone's order was omitted. When we called nu look to advise we were told if we still wanted the order there was $20 minimum. Bewildered and completely flummoxed, we asked why would there be a minimum when the item was left out. That's when the young lady said they were too busy to send and if we wanted the order there would be a $20 minimum. WTH? When we explained that was totally unacceptable she advised "we don't need your business." Well that was 3 weeks ago, we haven't ordered since that day. I went to nu look today to speak with the owner, I was met by one of the unpleasant young ladies behind the counter...just plain rude when I asked for the owner. So I'm taking it to yelp. It might behoove the owner to not only address the poor customer service provide by his cashier and phone staff (excluding the guys on the grill in the morning-they are amazing) and realize that your sole revenue is from the LIC Community. And while I may not stop everyone from patronizing your establishment I will make people think twice. So when your revenues are effected I want you to remember you get more bees with honey than with vinegar. read more
