Our server was polite, though I wish they checked in on us a bit more--but it didn't take away from the overall atmosphere. Came here with a friend for weekend brunch. They do have $28 bottomless mimosas but we don't drink much so deferred from it but probably something to consider if you like mimosas. We got a few things and felt like they were mostly just ok. Not bad! But not the best we have ever had. The French toast was covered with a healthy amount of whipped cream. Sweet but on the denser side - not very airy. The burrata was nice. My friend seemed to like it a lot especially with the red wine reduction. I think it was fine. The lobster roll was also fine. The lobster pieces seemed to be on the tougher side. Overall, convenient and nice spot for brunch if you're in the area. I came here a few times while my friend was a server here and I absolutely loved the setting and dishes they served. Located a couple blocks down from Vernon-Jackson 7 train station, this spot is perfect for group outings, romantic date nights or party dinners. My favorite was the burger and truffle fries that was cooked very well along with the lobster roll. Mimosas are bottomless for brunch and my favorite dessert items were the affogato and French toast ( ask for a gelato scoop! ). The appetizers were very on par the chilled oysters are so so good I'm not the biggest oyster fan cause oysters are salty and I have hypertension but it's ok it was so good. My experience also was on par the service was fast and good the servers had a very good attitude always was on top of anything you need. So the second time i went to 4747 was very very recent i went their for my 8 year anniversary with my partner such a fantastic experience. So my recent visit to 4747 was to celebrate my 8, year anniversary with my partner, we had the all day brunch which gives you a choice of belini memosa perseco if I'm not mistaken. I picked up an order for takeout on Thanksgiving as I was out for a stroll and saw one of their posts on instagram. The sweet potatoes were creamy and delicious. The Turkey was flavorful and succulent which I was surprised by especially since it stood up after my almost ~30 minute trip home. The quality of the food was just as good sitting in my living room as it has been the few times that I've dined in. Went with my wife for brunch. We like to try new places and don't write too many negative reviews but we had a bad experience here. Ambiance was fine. Service was not that friendly. We ordered apps and 5 minutes into eating them the server brought out our main dishes and just placed them in front of us not recognizing that it made zero sense to serve us. I made a point to place my main on the empty table next to us. As such, by the time I had my main it was ice cold and unenjoyable. My wife's duck confit seemed okay though. Our waitress was great and very attentive. For our appetizers, we had the braised oxtail and 6 oysters. Then for our entrees, we had branzino, baby lamb chops with truffle fries and beef short ribs. Truthfully, everything just tasted average and it was overpriced for the quality. At the end of the night, we also got a cup of coffee. The coffee was not hot at all. It was more luke warm at best. Conveniently located and seemed promising at first. My husband and I visited on a beautiful day and were genuinely excited to try 4747 LIC for brunch, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing from the start. When we walked in, we stood at the front for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us, despite multiple staff members clearly seeing us waiting. Once seated, I had a few questions about the menu and learned from our waitress that sides could not be ordered separately. My husband ordered the burger medium, but it arrived overcooked, and the fries tasted like standard frozen fries. Nothing special. I ordered the waffle with buttermilk chicken. The waffle itself was good, although I wish the maple syrup came on the side instead of already poured over it. The chicken, however, tasted old and stale to the point that it was inedible. I politely mentioned this to our waitress, who said she would inform the manager. The manager then came over to the table without introducing herself and immediately, in a very blunt tone, asked, "What's wrong with the chicken?" I was honestly caught off guard because she never identified herself and seemed irritated from the start. I calmly explained that the chicken tasted old. Instead of apologizing or showing any concern, she looked at me almost dismissively and responded with, "Well, I can assure you it was made today." It seems there was no effort to handle the situation professionally. She later removed the meal from our bill, which we sincerely appreciated and thanked her for, but as she walked away she remarked, "I mean if you don't like it, then you don't like it." The comment felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially considering how respectfully we handled the situation. While the food itself was mediocre overall, the manager's attitude and lack of professionalism are ultimately why we won't be returning or recommending this restaurant. read more

A nice dinner in a cozy little place by Gantry State Park. I chose here because I wanted to try to stay in this area and find a place that actually took reservations and was a nice sit-down place but not Asian food. 4747 was in a perfect location. I got there at 6pm on Saturday night to almost no customers dining. However, tables filled in a little bit. I got a negroni sbagliato (a very 2023 drink), and it was super refreshing and tasty! The bar area seemed to have gotten special attention and love, it was stocked far beyond what I'd expect from a restaurant this size. We had an appetizer off the specials of the day, a salmon crudo. The crudo was nice and refreshing. I do wish there was a little more olive oil flavor, but it tickled me to hear the wait staff describe crudo as "similar to sashimi". I had the house papardelle and my friend had the short ribs. Both were delicious and reminded me of jerk seasoning, a bright peppery taste that was very warming and homey. I did rally to finish my pasta since I knew I couldn't pack any home. We also ordered cakes for dessert. I had the ricotta pistachio, which was honestly the most underwhelming part of the meal. It didn't hit the deep pistachio nutty and sweetness I was expecting, and the crumbled dried pistachios on top tasted almost stale. Overall, if not for the very attentive service that was given by the young wait staff, I would rate this a three. The service truly bumped it up because they were all trying so hard to be attentive and accommodating. Food was not bad, but pretty average for being on the pricier side (even for the area). I called to clarify, and I believe the owner or manager says not sure why people says this when it doesn't say 11. It clearly does say 11 in the hours and 11:30 on the menu, otherwise why would other people mention it too? I guess she didn't believe me or other people that mentioned this to her. Meanwhile, please SEE IMAGES - if someone told me my hours and menu hours contradicted, I would go and review my website and fix it, rather than not believing multiple people who have flagged it. The cornish hen is definitely one of the best i ever had and i think i could eat that every day! Great to be back at was formerly Bellwether, one of my favorite New American restaurants in LIC. I'll miss it, but 4747 LIC is definitely that void well! I came here with my parents visiting on a Saturday around 545ish. No reservations needed during 'early bird special' hours lol (with my folks, ahem), we were prompted greeted as we arrived and had our pick of tables. The new owner did do a fair amount of work and redesign with the interior, and the space looks great, stylish yet cozy. I started with a 47 Basil Smash (Malfi Gin, Lemon, Basil, Agave) served as dry as possible (not a big sweet cocktail person). It was delicious and not overly sweet at all, very refreshing. We were also treated to some house-made potato chips and a lovely...ranch dipping sauce, I think? Either way, very tasty. For apps, we settled on the Grilled Octopus (we're all suckers for it - if it's on the menu, we're getting it lol) with Venere black rice, and salsa verde. The octopus was cooked ppppperfectly, and a nice sized portion at that. It was a tad bit on the salty side, but otherwise amazing, as was the black rice it came with. We also had the Braised Oxtail with fried polenta and crispy onions. Sinfully good. Oh man, decadent as heck, but goddamn delicious. Maybe could have used an acid/pickled veggie or something to cut a bit, but whatever - delicious. For the mains, I opted for the Beef Short Ribs with brown butter parsnip puree and caramelized onions. The short ribs were super tender, minimal knife-usage needed, so good, and paired well with the puree and caramelized onions. Solid solid short ribs. My dad is a lamb chops guy, and he thoroughly enjoyed his lamb chop entree, as did my mom with her Roasted Cornish Hern. The dessert menu is pretty bare-bones at the moment with just gelato and sorbet, so hopefully that gets built out a bit as they mature - but probably for the best after a fairly rich, decadent meal haha. Tried this new spot in our neighborhood last wked and it was so good! We started out w the Grilled Octopus, Venere Black Rice, Salsa Verde. It was so tender and moist, even the rice was al dente and delicious.
