I came in for a pedicure on a Saturday afternoon and the staff was very friendly. The woman at the front told me to sit on the massage chair (which felt amazing) while I waited and I got to choose my color. They have a lot of different colors to choose from and the pedicure was $35.00. It was quite relaxing. The person who did my pedicure did an amazing job and was very detailed oriented. I asked the lady for a French tip and she had no clue how to do it, 4 people had to explain to her how to do it and when she finally figured it out it looked terrible. After 20 minutes of her struggling I told her to just paint it all pink and she told me she's charging me extra. Wow! I can't say enough good things about this place! They are low budget but keeping that in mind, for the price it's exactly what I came here for. And the fact that I was a walk-in at a non busy time and didn't have to wait was a plus. This review is for a basic pedicure: For $18, you're definitely getting a quality pedicure! I came in with mega callouses from beach volleyball and my nail tech made them disappear! Only $5 add on. I've been places where I pay the $5 add on and still have callouses when I walk out. I've been coming here for years for my nails and pedicures. I even have a bunch of coworkers who love going here before I even worked with them. I switch up between acrylic and sometimes just simple gel on my natural nails. I love going to Kim (first table on your left upon entering) she is pretty fast and does a heck of a job. My nails never fall off or even lift. I also love getting my eyebrows done by her. I love that this nail shop is always up to date with the trendy colors, a bunch of nude color family. I noticed recently that they are short staffed so if you're going to come make sure you call to set up a reservation. I like to go during slower times or days like Monday mornings. read more

One star only because you have to. Let me start off by saying I've been getting my nails done for 10+ years and have been to my fair share of nail salons but NEVER have I had an experience like tonight. I went with 4 of my family members all wanting services. I sat down first couldn't decide on a color right away so I let everyone else choose first thinking I had plenty of time since my manicurist hadn't even started yet.... boy was I wrong! As soon as she sat down she asked me what color I wanted. Not even so much as a hi how are you?... when I told her I wasn't sure yet she sighed and told me I had to pick one. (Duh) Finally I got the colors back and as I flipping through them right in front of her she asks me 2 more times what color I wanted.... she wasn't even done cutting my cuticles yet. I picked a color she told me the sparkle that I wanted wasn't available. She suggested another one and I kindly told her no because the sparkles in it were to big for my liking. She then tries to apply the sparkle anyway. I stopped her and changed my color completely. She rushed and finished but was very rude. The worst parts are yet to come. As I'm waiting for my family members to finish I hear the owner laughing about a complaint from another customer. AND THE BATHROOMS UGH!! DISGUSTING!!! THE TOILET HAD NO LID THE SINK WAS NASTY AND DIRTY! AND THE TRASH BIN WAS COVER IN ONLY GOD KNOWS WHAT! NEVER AGAIN WILL I SET FOOT INTO THIS PLACE! Pedicure involved no cuticle cutting and when I asked for a nail design, they could not draw a "starburst" design. I chose a sticker instead, but it peeled right off. There was a lot of chit chat and laughter about this from the employees, which is rude since it's not my fault they can't perform a service that is standard in their profession. read more

I went here for the first time with my friend that had been there before. I wasn't impressed with the interior of the salon it seem unclean or just worn down. I should of walked out but I was like let's not judge so quickly. I sat down to get my pedicure the lady proceeds to fill up the foot spa with cold water. She lets my feet soak for like 3 min and starts to scrub my feet. I didn't say anything I thought she was doing a pre-scub but no. A little while later she started with the gel. My toenails were cut to short and the way she applied the gel was not flat but in the shape of a bubble on the top of my toenails. Thanks but I won't be going back. read more

This was my nail shop for about a year. I thought I found the perfect one ! I started recommending people and everything. They started to get a lil sloppy and I just thought oh maybe it just that one time. We'll my friend and I made an appt for about 5 and at 6:15 we finally left. What happened was when I walked in my nail lady was just finishing up so wen I got up to be next some lady walked right through the door and sat in her chair. NO appt or anything. I said excuse me but I've been waiting and I had an appt. the nail lady just looked at me and said it won't take long. We'll my friend was waiting for a pedi and they were doing the same thing. Nothing compares to my nail shop in NP but what can you expect. The price is the cheapest I've found in El Cajon and I called around to various different places. The massage chair for the spa pedicure rocked me to sleep. It was much needed and awesome. I got a spa mani and pedi. It felt good. This place did a pretty good job and I would recommend it because the prices are pretty cheap and they're pretty fast. The one thing I had a problem with was that the lady who did my nails shaped it wrong and said it was too late to try and fix the shape of how I wanted it. But what she did do is she said next time I came in they would shape it for free. I asked for my tips taken off and asked for my nails to be short and squared but she added MORE tips and acrylic and some are square shaped and other are coffin! I always ask for Judy (the owner and usually the person who does waxing) or Annie (her neice and a fabulous manicurists). The shop is not highly fancy, but you definitely get quality work for a great value. This place is right around the corner from my office, so it's also pretty convenient. However, there are probably no less than 5 within the same distance and whenever I go elsewhere I end up right back here. That says it all. read more

I've been new to the San Diego/El Cajon area and been having a hard time finding a good nail shop. I'm really picky and I have to say after trying so many places I keep coming back to this one. I like my nails thin and natural and one of the lady's always does a good job. I don't know her name but it's the one that sits to the right as you walk in under the mirror. She is pretty good at designs. I've showed her pictures off Instagram and she can do them most of the time. Reasonable prices too. As for pedicures I've had better done other places. read more

However, I think they got comfortable because the last time I went not only did I wait about an hour (with infant son in tow) they did a mediocre job on my feet and automatically assumed the tip I was going to give them. Won't be returning. When you schedule an appointment, please respect it! I got to my appointment with Kim 5 min before my appointment, I told her I was there and she had just taken a new customer. I thought ok, she will probably tell the customer she has to wait cause her 12:30 appointment is here, but instead she told me to take a seat. She started telling her customer at the time, "yeah she has an appointment" it was 20 minutes after that I decided to get up and leave, Jenny never acknowledged me or even said "sorry, wait a little, or I'll be with you shortly" I understand things happen, I respect it, but when you have me waiting and avoid even looking at me to apologize for not respecting MY appointment, you really suck. read more

One of my middle nails were crooked and I kept telling her it was crooked and wanted it fixed so she shaved down the other side which made it look even more crooked. Honestly my mother & i love this place . They listen to what you want. They don't rush when they are working on your nails and unlike other places that I go to where they switch technicians for no reason . #1 nails has one technician per person depending on your hands or feet which I appreciate. I dislike when places constantly change technicians . I always go with the lady at the very front. She is my favorite and she listens to all my requests . Plus It is really nice that they know who my mother is even though me and my mother never go together. Great customer service! Totally recommend this places. Like everyone said, Annie really does do a great job for pedicures and manicures. She is very gentle and knows not to cut my toenail edges too short (this is to avoid ingrown toenails). Annie takes her time and eases my anxiety so I rarely worry about getting nicked/cut. Judy and Kim do good on the eyebrow waxing. Just let them know up front whether or not you want your eyebrows thick or thin. One time Kim got carried away and did my eyebrows on the thin side...but they grew back okay. The only downside to this salon is that they are closed on Sunday. But other than that, their prices are really reasonable, they are friendly and they do a great job. read more

Got a gel manicure and gel pedicure for $70, within 2 days the gel started to chip even with very minimal use of my hands.

I had a okay manicure but better pedicure. Clean place but when I called to see how much a regular mani/pedi was she told me $20. I requested a design on my two big toes which she said was $5. I had clear nail polish on my fingernails. Okay so when I was done she told me $29. Okay price on window said $20 and she told me $20 over phone. $20 plus $5 for design is $25 not $29. I did not say anything and maybe that's my fault. I will not go back, maybe I can save someone else from bring ripped off $4 is $4. Plus I did leave her a $5 tip. I think she was the owner because she was sitting at first table and asked me if I was the one that called. read more

Your business should be ashamed of yourselves. Refusing someone and telling them you don't serve their kind because they have psoriasis on their hands. A non contagious skin condition and then getting mad at them in front of all of your customers and embarrassing them. What kind of business are you even running?
