Love love love Patsy! I've been coming to her for over a year now after finding Salon 34 on Yelp and then finding her on Instagram. She's super personable and beyond friendly. Going back a year now, she made me feel comfortable, we discussed what I wanted and she suggested an amazing cut and color which has since evolved a bit all due to her guidance. Great atmosphere at the salon, everyone I've encountered has been friendly! Very clean and neat. They carry Davines products at a great price and in my last visit saw they carry Jack Black products too. They always offer a drink, from coffee to alcoholic drink which is always a treat. read more

I rarely write reviews, but Ronnie from Number 34 definitely deserves one. I recently moved to the area from the East Coast. I was very sad to leave my prior stylist of 5 years, but a change of scenery can be good. I did research for a couple of weeks to see where I'd like to try out, and came upon Number 34. I am SO glad that I did. I got Ronnie's number and left him a voicemail, which he returned immediately letting me know that he was still accepting new clients and when his first available appointment was. I'm always nervous the first time I have an appointment with someone new (stylist, doctor, etc.), but I felt at home right away. Ronnie is very easy to talk to, personable, professional, and best of all knows about hair! I told him that I found him on Yelp and was really impressed with some of the haircuts and coloring he'd done (seriously, you should check out the pics on here if you haven't yet). I figured if he could handle coloring jobs like that, he'd be able to handle a haircut for me easily. By the end of the appointment, I felt like I'd already known him for quite some time. Since it was his first time working on my hair, Ronnie kept asking to make sure he was cutting it correctly, which I confirmed. He spent a while going over the cut, making sure everything was just so. It's great to come across someone that takes pride in what they do! My hair looked good, but you can never tell until you leave the salon and get a better feel for it. After leaving the salon, I was immediately impressed. This was the BEST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER HAD! My fears about having to find a new stylist were put to rest. My friends would say I'm picky (and would be right), but this was the first time I'd left a haircut and felt like there was nothing that needed to be improved. The price was very reasonable, too. I'd honestly expected it to cost more and was pleasantly surprised. I wish I could recommend Ronnie with six stars. He even sent a thank you card by mail after the appointment. This place is awesome!! I have been going with Liza for about 13 years!! She is the best hairstylist ever! I will follow her wherever she goes :) I had a really bad experience before I met her! My hair was a pink purplish! I went in with Liza knowing the work she had done to one of my friends. She totally fixed my hair made it a beautiful color with what she was able to work with and I have been extraordinary happy having her as my hairstylist! She is very honest and will tell you if your hair is able to take whatever it is you want! She will not let you walk out of the salon if she is not happy with her work! :) to me that's awesome, many stylist just care about getting your money and don't bother in asking if your happy with your results! I used to go to Ronnie about 15+ years ago and somehow we lost touch. Throughout the years, I had gone to different stylists with just the basic cut. After forever having black hair, I decided I'd go semi-blond-ish. I went to different salons and no one could get the "Crenshaw orange" out of my hair. Then Ronnie came to mind. The stylists at Number 34 are simply fantastic. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and held as much excitement about my hair as I did. So far, the both times I've gone, I have been taken care of by Ronnie. The thing that I love the most is that he was able to give me whatever look I was hoping for with some extra flare. At first, I asked for a very simple cut with some low key highlight. I told him that, unfortunately, I financially could not return as frequently as I would like to for touch ups, so in turn he altered his coloring process so my highlights would naturally fade out and helped me out with tips for 'diy' dyes and touch ups! The next time I wanted an all out transformation. I wanted my dark brown hair to become bright copper. He went above and beyond my expectations by creating a look that I could pass for 'work mode', but was still vibrant with the punk-rock edge. When you come in, you'll experience that the stylists here are artists and are passionate at what they do. Number 34 is absolutely fabulous and is easily worth thirty-four stars. read more

I rarely write Yelp reviews but Liza deserves a great one. I've known Liza over 30 years.. She has 30+ years of experience in hair. She's owned her own shop in the past & also works for the Studios. I lost touch with her but was lucky enough to reconnect with her about five years ago. She's been doing my hair ever since. If I was interested in a style that wouldn't look good on me she'll flat out tell me not to do it. I like that! She has my best interest at heart. I'm a woman "of a certain age" so we have a color date every five weeks. She's a phenomenal colorist! I would highly recommend her. One thing that's very important to me is that my time is just as important as hers.. I've never had to wait for her. She's always on time. I randomly stumbled upon Number 34 recently and could not be happier for the find. I usually go to random barber shops with very mixed results. I was thrown off by the higher price for a haircut but decided to give it a shot. I was so impressed with the end results as well as the service that I have since gone back and will no doubt return. I never understood why people pay more for a haircut but now I get it. My cuts usually look good but after a week or two when it starts to grow out, it is a mess. Since going to Number 34 that is no longer an issue. It turns out the owner Ronnie is a professional stylist. I was surprised when he said he'd been cutting hair for 16 years (he's 34 hence the shops name) but his experience and professionalism showed. The guy is also very interesting and can hold an conversation. I have recommended Ronnie to co-workers and a woman in my office was also very pleased with her highlights and cut. It's good to find someone that really takes pride in what they do. I also like that I can am offered coffee for my morning cut or a beer for the after work ones. Give it a try. read more
