First time at Nuna- we sat on their back patio and it was very pretty. We ordered the tiradito to start and it was very well balanced and delicious. Then we ordered the Mahi Mahi Sudado and the Arroz Con Pato both were extremely good! The service was very slow and when we got there they didn't let us know their bathrooms were unavailable for use.

Nuna Kitchen and Bar is an absolute gem. We started with the oysters and Nuna ceviche. The tiger milk sauce was out of this world for the ceviche - tangy, flavourful, and the perfect start to the meal. The beef anticuchos were so juicy and packed with such a unique, spicy kick. The arroz con pato was a standout with its crispy, juicy duck. The staff were also super friendly and made the experience even better. We would 100% come back!

Great spot for some unique food! Never had Peruvian food before but will definitely come back and have it again after my experience. Overall: 4.2/5 Food: Croquettes 3.5/5 - a lot of my friends liked this, but I thought it was ok. If there were more seasoning and maybe sauce inside the croquette I think I would've liked it more! Shrimp risotto: 4.2/5 - really liked this unique dish! It was a perfect balance of creaminess, with the shrimp flavour, it was just so great. I'd get it again... wish it was a bit bigger though! Atmosphere: 4.2/5 - we are on the patio and it was such a nice private ambiance. There was Spanish music and Afrobeats playing, 2 of my favourite genres. Service: 5/5 - very friendly and kind waitress that we had who always made sure we had water and checked in often.

It took a Yelp experience last month that brought me to Nuna Kitchen & Bar, which is a Peruvian eatery. I enjoyed my experience so much that I returned to check out its tasting menu. I parked on Queen Street West just after 6 pm on a Saturday evening. It's Green P parking. I paid with my app on my phone. Easy peasy. Alternatively, you can try your hand at parking on a side street. I tried going down one street and couldn't find a parking spot. I had made my reservation online for 6:15 pm. I was able to specify that I was here to try the tasting menu. It's basically a set three-course menu for $65. I walked in to the eatery. A woman immediately greeted me. I let her know that I had a reservation and stated my name. She immediately pulled it up on her tablet and seated me in a cozy corner. You have choices for the starter and main on the tasting menu. The dessert is fixed. I chose the following items: - Crab bisque - Risotto with lomo - Lucuma cheesecake My server was patient and helpful. He answered all my questions and was extremely attentive filling my glass with water, and timing each course. The crab bisque was amazing. It had chunks of crab meat in the best stock that I have ever had. I wanted to lick the bowl. I did a good job making it look like I did with my spoon. It was excellent. I was asked how I wanted my ribeye steak cooked in my risotto with lomo. I went with medium. It was pure perfection. The steak was flavourful and tender. I loved the creamy risotto with the best cherry tomatoes and onions that accompanied it. The lucuma cheesecake was so good. Lucuma is a fruit that has a mild citrusy taste. It worked well with the creamy cheesecake. The dark chocolate curls on top were a nice touch. The washrooms are on the main floor. The one that I used was a single stall and was clean. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and all went well. I thanked my server and happy left with a tummy full of amazing food. This place does have specials besides the tasting menu. I remember seeing happy hour specials after 9 pm on most evenings. Wednesdays are buck-a-shuck oysters. I loved returning here for dinner. If you like Peruvian food with a twist or are curious about it, come here. (16)

In the far far west exists a Peruvian resto bar. A fun quaint place serving up some creative Peruvian food and drinks. Great place for dates and meetups while you chomp on some delicious Latin American food! A buck oysters - In this day and age a dollar oysters are harder to find. Nuna offers this every Wednesday! The taste of the oysters varies a bit, but still good to eat and no tummy issues after. Well worth the money! Octopus anticuchero - Wowie a beautiful looking dish, and an even tastier one! Octopus was cooked right so it had the right amount of chew. The octopus was also charred nicely. The creamy sauce was also very delicate and very well balanced so it added flavour without taking away from the octopus. Highly recommend! Lucuma Tres Leches Cake - Another wowie another amazing cake. Tres leches is not my typical goto cake as its usually soggy. But this milky lucuma sauce on this cake was life changing it added so much depth to the cake very good. Would consider taking a 30 min streetcar just to get this again. All in all, would probably come back to try more stuff from here and get that tres leches again.

Had an anniversary dinner here. Service was excellent. Food came out quick and hot. Very great spot for a date or social with friends. Food - we came on a Thursday so it was the steak and wine special for $35. We've had it before and couldn't resist. Their steak is really flavourful and paired well with the potatoes and wine. We also ordered oysters, also $2 each on Thursdays. Our other main plate was the salmon on a bed of pesto gnocchi. Fantastic meal. The tres leche dessert is another star - great taste, not too sweet and light. Highly recommended.

The food was amazing. Such a great blend of spices, with every component working well together. My favourite was probably the potatoes just because I'm just getting into potatoes and appreciating just how versatile they are. The creamy and spicy sauce paired well with the potatoes and tender chunks of beef. NglI damn near got a second round. I originally asked to substitute the cauliflower purée for rice but decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It was extremely smooth and creamy, and it paired surprisingly well with what tasted like a hot pico de gallo garnish. The grilled octopus was good as well. My friend didn't think it was as flavourful as it could be but I generally think octopus are usually flavoured by the mode of cooking? Like it tastes nice and grilled and is paired with whatever sauce. I don't expect a burst of flavour minus maybe a lemony or vinegary taste to them in addition to whatever sauce. The fried rice wasn't my favorite. It wasn't heavily seasoned, which I appreciate, however I wasn't too fond of the sweetness in the sauce for both the pork and the rice, it felt like they relied on the sauce to give most of the taste. That said, it was still objectively tasty. Cozy spot

Absolutely delicious. I also had the yucca croquettes, a holiday drink, and the ceviche, and tres leches. I cleaned my plates completely. The servers are super friendly and very timely even when busy. Atmosphere is very relaxing, moody, and a bit romantic. Great for first date experience.

I came here in a party of 4. We sat on the patio and it had such a great ambiance. The server was great. I really did enjoy my risotto, it was very flavorful. It was my first time having Peruvian food and look forward to trying more. Unfortunately my pork belly was actually cold, so I decided to pack it for home. I would be interested in trying more dishes, thank you to the team at Nuna!

Came here for summerlicious. Food was just average. Everything was a bit pricey. Service was fast however and wasn't too crowded. The duck risotto was my favourite. I would recommend this dish if you are visiting.

The patio is gorgeous at this place! We had great service as well. Music was really good here too! The food was yummy I got the croquettes which have mozzarella in the middle and cassava on the outer layer. There is a sauce to dip these in under which tastes tangy and creamy. I would say these needed a tad bit more salt though. The main plate I got a seafood pasta which had a cream sauce similar to what the risotto had. The pasta was fettuccine style. Inside was shrimp and calamari. I do wish this had more types of seafood in it though. The prices at this place were way too high so I took off a star for that.

In our quest for a "go to" Peruvian restaurant, Nuna takes the prize in Toronto! We enjoyed the ambiance, very niche and quaint restaurant. The service was good, we enjoyed the level of hospitality. For the food, the ceviche was spot on, I enjoyed the crunch of the corn. I missed the soft and fresh corn though. The Yuca fries and the sauce are a must. The lomo saltado hit the mark, a bit of a different recipe than we were used to, but ended up being pretty delicious regardless. The octopus was tasty and presented well. We'd highly recommend it and return!

I can here for a quick dinner with my husband on a Saturday night. I was kind of disappointed that Nuna didn't open earlier than 6pm as I had to get to the symphony for 8pm. Luckily we were the first to arrive and though we placed our order right away, it still took longer than expected for the food to trickle out from the kitchen. Within 15m of us being seated at 6pm, the small dining space was almost at capacity (minus the seats at the bar). I can't imagine how long it'll take to get our food if we had all ordered at the same time. Anyway, back to the drinks and food. My husband order the Lima, which was quite refreshing, and I had the Nuna Spritz made with Aperol and sparkling wine - it was pretty and delicious. We started with the yuca fries and mussels. Yuca fries were thick cut, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The broth that the mussels were in were perfect, not too salty and not too fishy. I also had half a dozen fresh PEI oysters, they were fresh and easily slid down my throat. For the main, we both ordered the octopus with cauliflower puree. I'm not familiar with Peruvian spices, but the octopus was delicious, not over or undercooked and the cauliflower puree was an excellent pairing choice. The restaurant is small so I do recommend you make a reservation. The 2 servers and 1 bartender seemed like a good ratio to the number of patrons that were there. I can see it as a hangout place of locals. With good drinks and small plates, Nuna seems like the place to be.

I was dining solo, and just really wanted to experience some good Peruvian food that I haven't had in a long time. I ordered from the lunch menu and opted for two lunches - gluttonous I know - but I wanted to try the Ceviche de pescado and the Aji de Gallina. I asked about Chicha Morada to drink, but it hadn't been prepared yet, so I had maracuja juice (passion fruit). First of all, the ceviche was outstanding! It's a simple tilapia, but it was so perfectly prepared. I loved the little sweet potato garnish, and the tangy flavor was spot on. I felt like I was eating the ceviche I had back when I was in Peru. The server also brought a small dish of Peruvian corn (crunchy corn kernels) with my drink while I waited for the entrees to come out. These were perfect little snackers! The Aji de Gallina came next and it was also exactly like the homemade aji de gallina I had at the home I stayed at while in Peru. It was so reminiscent of homecooked food, and it was exactly what I wanted. Of course, I couldn't finish it all, and my server boxed it up for me to take home. Speaking of my server - a HUGE shout out to Alessandra who was so kind and friendly. Since the restaurant was relatively empty I had the opportunity to chat with her more than I might normally chat with a server. I ended up showing her photos from when I was in Peru and about being in Toronto for the day. I was just very excited to find authenitc Peruvian food since it's not something easily accessible here in my city. Alessandra was a delight, and she even sent me home with some extra Peruvian corn for a snack which I happily ate on my train ride home the next day. She definitely didn't have to do that! I really hope that I get a chance to visit this restaurant again! Also, as an American, the prices were really good. I spent only $34 USD for two entrees - so if in a normal situation when I wasn't over eating, I could easily have had a $18-20 lunch that was filling and delicious.

Food was not a 5/5 for me, but service was above and beyond. Upon arrival, we had given the staff a cake to serve after our meal for a friend's birthday. We had the candles in our bag, and were planning on pulling them out when we were done our entrees. The owner, assuming that we hadn't brought our own candles, went out and bought candles for the cake during our meal. We were stunned when we found out! They then portioned out the cake perfectly after we sang happy birthday. We also didn't realise we had stayed 30 minutes past their 9pm closing time, and they never nudged us to leave. The large size of El Inka Salad came in a HUGE bowl that could feed a group of 4. The salad greens, shredded carrot, and red onion were nice and fresh, but unfrotunately the dressing was too creamy for me (should've ordered it with dressing on the side). The mains were great. Tacu-Tacu (rice with refried beans) was as expected. The mahi-mahi came as a big chunk of fish with nice grill marks - delicous and tender. The mixed seafoood had great sauce and seasoning. You can never go wrong with Arroz con Mariscos in any Latin American restaurant - well seasoned yellow rice with peas, carrots, and a boatload of mixed seafood (large tiger shrimps, small shrimps, mussels, squid, scallops). It was very flavourful and filling. The side sautéed vegetables, however, were disappointing. It consisted of broccoli, cauliflower, red and yellow bell pepper, and red onion - great mix, but WAY TOO SALTY. I think they used too much soy sauce. Service was great - all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The washrooms were clean and they had multiple stalls, as well as a gender-neutral and wheelchair-accessible washroom. Parking was easy - plenty of space in the plaza parking lot.
