The place was dimly lit and there was a lot of seating, both indoor and outdoor. A lot of the seating inside was arranged as couches with low tables, which made for a very casual and relaxing vibe, while the overall atmosphere remained very classy. - Padre's Hotdog (4.5/5): I was told by my friend that this was the best hotdog ever so I had very high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. One thing though, the hotdogs were a bit on the smaller size, you probably would have to order something else or a second hotdog if you were hungry. Would come back again just for this hotdog! Parking/Service: There was a small lot on the side of the building, but other than that you might have to street park in the neighborhood right next to it. The ordering system was a bit of a surprise for me. You have to walk in to the bar and order there.

It's located right at 19th St. and Shepherd near the light. There's a small angled parking lot that can be tight when people park along the fence. It looks like a cute tiny A-frame home with a few patio tables in the front. The inner area has about 6-7 high tables. It's nice and clean inside. The vibe feels similar to H-Town Brewing Co. but on a smaller scale. You can also sit at the bar. I didn't really like the high tables/chairs. They're not as comfortable. It was hot out, and there are mosquitos, so we sat inside. I ordered the salmon plate for steak night. The drinks here are ok, and since I don't really drink, I was looking for mocktail options. In this era, most places have mocktail options with brand alternatives like Ritual, Seedlip and Lyre's or at the least, something with juice, Topo Chico and simple syrup. The female bartender made me a NA margarita which was great. I liked that she didn't make it too sweet or too tart which happens with mocktails that don't have alternatives and are mostly juice or lemon. On the other hand, when I ordered a second, the guy bartender made it too sweet. I didn't like his version. For the alcoholic versions, they seem to have good cocktails, wine, beer and flights. They also have daily specials. Aside from the steak night, they don't serve food here. It wouldn't be my first choice of bars in this area.

Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

Inside the actual Annex there was standard bar seating as well as a few long tables. I really liked the decor - the bottles of liquor along the back of the bar created a nice focal point, and the low lighting combined with wood tones really set the tone. They have a vast selection of cocktails separated by flavors (smoky, sweet, tropical, etc.). We ultimately had three rounds and all of the drinks were quite good. The bartenders were great, they whipped the drinks up quickly and were friendly. Overall I had a great time at Worcester's Annex - definitely a place I would return to next time I'm in Houston.

We came in as an impromptu visit after an earlier event and figured we'd just stop in for a glass of wine or so. Upon walking in, the place is super cute with dim lighting and was quite crowded on a Thursday night. We didn't immediately find available seating, but after a couple minutes, a table opened up and we sat there. Our primary server was Grayson, who was super knowledgeable about the wine list. Other servers tended to us throughout the night, and all were equally as knowledgeable about the menu offerings. At the time we went, they were featuring various wines from Beaujolais. We ended up trying one of these, the Alexandre Burgaud Brouilly Rouge, which was a full-bodied red. This was a great recommendation, and I will say that we didn't conclude the visit on only one of these bottles... Based on Grayson's food recommendations, we ended up ordering the Mortadella panini and a combination charcuterie board. The Mortadella panini was unique but good - tomato, mortadella, provolone, and mustard all served on a pretzel bun. Probably not my dish of choice alongside wine, however I did really like the charcuterie board. We asked them to surprise us on the cheese and meat, and they really came through. The prosciutto was tasty and the cheese (can't remember which one) had a peppery flavor to it, which paired well with our red wine. The overall clientele vibe seemed like a range of date nights, girls nights, first dates, and solo drinkers. I love the diversity! We ended up making friends with the table next to us and eventually merged tables to make this a fun group date night. Definitely a highlight of the visit. We will definitely be back sooner than later. This is a cute neighborhood bar that I look forward to returning myself and brining out-of-town guests to come experience. They also have a dog-friendly patio - something to keep in mind whenever the day calls for drinking some wine in nice outdoor weather!

The service has a strange tone, and it isn't limited to one employee they all seem to share the same indifferent, slightly annoyed demeanor. The experience feels less like genuine hospitality and more like, "You're here what can I get you?" On my most recent visit, others in my group noticed and commented on the same thing without any prompting from me. Since they had never been before, it confirmed that it wasn't just my perception. One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.

My wife suggested we give this a try, I was a bit hesitant as when we arrived it was a huge warehouse on the outside, but boy was I wrong as to what I expected to be inside. Man oh man, it was like walking through the wardrobe in Narnia and into a whole new world. This place completely took me by surprise,the inside is amazing, a little bit of a Italian grocery store in the far right corner, a 20 ft bar for people to indulge their many choices of Italian Wines, and want to watch the game at the same time (three televisions for the game, one for news, and another playing an digital Italian tour.), and a full fledged restaurant in the back. Its pretty open so its hard to find where you're supposed to go, luckily the staff was attentive and asked what our purpose for this evening was. We said, after seeing everything, we weren't sure anymore, we all laughed. Then we replied, we are here for dinner, then we were asked if we had a reservation, which we did in fact have one, my wife made it on Open Table. We told them our names and looked us up, the gentleman looked up and said "Happy Birthday Mr. Caputo, I was pleased as I didnt know that is why we came, my wife surprised me 8 days before my actual birthday. We started with a bottle of Felice, Moscato, it was fair priced and darn good, during our indulgence in this fine wine we recieved bread and olive oil dip. Man, I asked where they bought the bread as it was delicious, i was then told them make it on site. I was impressed but sad to hear I couldnt buy it to take home. Our server was super informative, while we were deciding what we would like to eat, he asked, what we were in the mood for, instead of just pedaling the few things he knew or memorized as good sellers. My wife said she was in a seafood mood, and I said I was uncertain ,but said I wanted something savory. For my wife the server suggested the Chilean Sea Bass, he said that everytime he delivered it to a table, that the scent alone made him very hungry. So my wife went with it , and I remained uncertain, so, the Chef came out. He asked if I would like Lamb Chops with Truffle mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables, I told him , that I did now. I asked if this was a common item and I just missed it, the chef replied, no, I am making it special for you. I was pleased at this moment, I felt special and I looked forward to it. Soon something arrived that we didn't order, it was Bruschetta,and it wasn't on the menu, so , my wife told the server we didn't order this, he said "I know", but the ordering process took awhile i figured you wanted something to hold you over, compliments of the chef, I looked to the kitchen and he nodded. This place has given us bread, and dipping oil and we are already blown away by the service, and the food was just going to be the Cherry on top. Italian is my favorite cuisine, so I am very critical about it, and my wife hit the nail on the head with this restaurant choice. Everything was a salt shake away from being perfect, I asked why, again our informative server let us know, that they are not heavy handed with the salt because everyone's palette is different, for some it could be too much and others its not enought, which is why they provide the grinders on the table, so it can be just right, by your hand. I had a bite of my wife's Chilean Seabass, and it was the most flavorful piece of seafood that has ever entered my body. I felt jealous, but then moments later my special dish arrived, it was so aromatic, and beautifully plated. The Lamb Chops were juicy, perfectly prepared, and the Truffle mashed potatoes were AMAZING, I only wish they were on the menu. The Vegetables were crisp and fresh, and sauteed with olive oil,garlic and almonds. It was nothing like ive every had , and I was okay with that as it was a meal to remember and brag to my friends. As we were half way through our dishes, the Chef, came out again, and he asked, if everything was to our liking, he also waited for us to be done chewing before approaching. We said it was the best we have had in a VERY long time. He was humble, said thank you, and then said, if you like that, you are going to love the dessert. Dessert? Now we were intrigued again, what was he going to send our way? How could he top what we are eating now? The chef arrived, not the server, but the Chef, with the dessert on a tray , with a single candle lit, he had a smile on his face, and said, I would sing you Happy Birthday, but if I did it would not be so happy as I am a Chef and not a professional singer, we both laughed. Laughter turned into shock and awe, as we gazed upon our sweet treat. It was Creme Brulee, with berries incased in carmelized sugar, with a tiny scoop of Vanilla Gelato on top of it all. It was beautifully presented, the plate had "Happy Birthday Jon" written in Raspberry Syrup, I can't even describe the dessert as it resembled a masterpiece that should be viewed in museums, I wished only I had a picture. Like many other restaurants in the industry , it appears the Chef's Table too is struggling to keep staff on board . We still see similar smiling faces , & a lot of new ones . It's painful to watch such a beautiful family owned business fight so hard for an audience not willing to give them grace for the current times we live in . The service was understaffed & overwhelmed , but I haven't been to another restaurant during this time not experiencing this same problem . The food was & is excellent as always , my wife had the " filetto al Pepe" medium rare ( it came out perfect ) it is her favorite & tastes just as it did the first time we had it ( we share ) . The filet was perfectly prepared & the sauce is so good we had to request more bread to dip into it with ( the dishwasher didn't have much work ahead of him with this dish ) I decided to try the Risotto Frutti di Mare , I already had the Mushroom Risotto ( which was divine ) . The frutti di mare , is , excellent , the risotto isn't mush , it has some bite , the seafood is moist , not dry & overcooked , the white wine is there in essence but not overpowering the flavor of the dish it only takes part as a passenger , the driver of this dish isn't even the seafood even though the quality is top knotch, it's the sauce emulsion from them combined . It's hard to explain but once you taste it you'll agree . This dish is a so multilayered , all of its components perfectly married , not one singing louder than the other but working together in unison . Just writing this makes me want another . I apologized for the run on sentences , but I just had to get out what was coming to my head . I am only one man , & I don't have an editor lol. My wife was pleased with her favorite continuing to be served unchanged , I was in love with my dish . I wish the Nundini family well , I know this is a difficult time to be a restaurant, especially one that isn't backed by investors . So many of these new concept restaurants keep popping up , stealing ideas , milking them , shutting them down & opening under a new name once the trend is over . I can say , without a doubt , this place is outstanding , unique, & there is nowhere quite like it . You'll either fall in love or nit pick all the quirks that we love about it . The reality is that this place has stood for over 20 years , unmoved , improving every time we come in . While some might come to this space to bash if , we make sure to come here & defend it from all the review snobs that include time stamps & ridiculously fabricated over the top stories . We've been to this place so many times , we should have a plaque on the wall & we have never witnessed the outrageous claims that I see in some of the reviews on here . Take this as you will , but we love this restaurant, it's staff, the owner who worked so hard to built it , & rebuilt it after it took 10 feet of water from Hurricane Harvey . So that's my update , you know where I stand , if you don't like it , or don't agree , well that's okay . Where do I start? The valet parking was a nice addition , and you are also welcome to park your own car in the back( which is understood since people that valet get the best parking) in case you just hate valet parking. I also asked the owner about it and his response was " my car has been broken into several times going to the bank or the grocery store, I did not want MY customers to experience that same tragedy." When you walk in, you are amazed that everything is actually there since it is inside of a very misleading warehouse . The front is a deli with everything you need to cook a genuine Italian meal at home , in the back there's the fully operational restaurant with only Italian wines categorized by region , with two prices , price to consume there or prices to take home. The menu is HUGE , I've randomly selected a platter 4 or 5 times and haven't been disappointed. Also if you're a gluten free fan ,they substitute any pasta platter with gluten free pasta at your request . The service is good ,but it's not to the caliber of papas but at the same time I understand because this is an independently owned business not some corporate billion dollar machine. This place is not used to a busy crowd because of how unknown it is. So the service is as good as it can be, the owner is very personal, but doesn't approach every table, and I asked him why, he said "I do not like to interrupt my customers while they are having a intimate dinner , if there is a problem or something I can do for them, I will be available immediately." Then I thought how many times have I been interrupted and lost track of the conversation while going other places , yes these other places are extremely attentive , but it is also kind of annoying, that's just me may be, but I like to just raise a hand and have someone come when I need something opposed to being badgered constantly by a person with a customer service voice and smile. The kitchen is open , so you can see them cook your meal or hand make your pizza , the music is a mix of Sinatra and Italian world music,it's enjoyable, although the volume is higher some nights. The restaurant ambiance is nice in the main dining room , while the front is more casual and you feel less underdressed and a good place to be sat if you have kids because of the booths, you can contain you kiddo without worrying about him or her wandering off. The place is nice when you take to account that this was all built by one person, not a board room of people , no interior designer , no marketing group , but only from the mind of one man. I realize we all have experienced better ambiance ,service , and may be perhaps food , but it is nice to see the owner , to approach the owner with your ideas and criticisms, the man who is receiving your money, instead of just seeing his picture in the menu. I have been to Europe , this isn't the Americanized Italian food you're used to, if you have a palate for the finer Italian food you can get in Italy than Nundini's is your place to go . Me and my girlfriend came here , no , we didn't have a reservation, so we weren't too mad about the wait. What should we have expected, not calling ahead and pulling up to a place with the parking lot(massive) full. So we were sat at a booth, they seemed to have some type of Wine Event, it was open , if we wanted to partake it had a separate menu, instead of the standard one. We felt like gambling, diving into what it was that they had an entire event for, the food provided with the wine were bited sized, but it was a tasting not a feast, sort of like a wine flight but with 4 full glasses and food paired with each wine. It was 15.00 per person, and kind of served its purpose as a nice appettizer. After that we dove into the standard menu to see what they provide on a daily basis, we ordered the Pappardelle Al Ragu' Di Cinghiale, and if I was allowed to type a curse word in between REAL and GOOD, I totally would. Since we had the Wine Event to start and we split the Pappardelle, we decided to move on to dessert. We had the Tre Delizie Al Cioccolato, the types of Chocolate Mousse, how do you NOT order that? Man it was soooooooo good, I wish I could have it on a daily basis, but then I would have to work out four times a day instead of two lol. We topped it all off with a Cappuccino and an Espresso, we didn't know there was gelato, or we wouldve ordered it along side the mousse. To top it all off, the service was awesome, waiters were down to Earth, very approachable, not snippy or short mannered, even when I saw other guests be rude, they stayed composed. I left them a great tip , as If i were in their shoes that night, I would not have taken the pompous, "I'm more important" attitudes that were being flung their way. We were so pleased with them, and will definitely be back for more as we live around the corner, we just moved from California, and let me tell you, this place makes some of Cali's best Italian Restaurants look like McDonald's. I can't WAIT to get my hands on some of that Gelato, it was SO pretty, and well presented, I just wanted to take some and RUN, since we were in a hurry to catch our movie. Again, props to the waiters, to the kitchen, and the owner for putting together such a gem of an establishment, I didn't always have the means I have now, I have been in this business and respect the heck out of all you guys for dealing with being in the hectic rat race, that is the restaurant industry. I have been to many places all over the world,and this place has that fancy tone to it with a casual environment.The Exterior may look like a warehouse, although you can tell they tried to separate the front of the warehouse by painting it beige and the rest blue, but once I entered the door, I had no idea what I was in for, it was like going though a portal to the unexpected.The food was perfect, the price is unbeatable, and the staff was so helpful, while they may not have been waiting on me hand and foot, I felt as if they treated me like I am one of them, I would rather have a waiter that is kind and remember my name,than the typical robots you have serve you everywhere else. To continue ,the restaurant was packed, and my food may have taken a little long,but the waiter brought me bread and olive oil dip that kept me busy, and assured me it was on the way, little did he know , I already knew because I overheard him talking to the kitchen(which was nice to know he was on top of it even though he informed me shortly after). I have had meals in Italy, they are not fast, if you plan to eat, you are going to be there for awhile, Nundini's has grasped the Italian flavor with the need for speed in the American dinner scene. I felt adventurous and tried the Salmon Crepes that I ordered, and when the first piece entered my mouth, I almost felt like the critic in Ratatouille, it was so good that it inspired me to get on Yelp and write this review. I am from Italy and after 10 years here in Houston I decided to stop with my wife at this place. One of the young workers, from Italy as well, was very nice and pleasant, and at the end of the shopping he asked me if I wanted to meet the owner, that apparently is from Italy as well. So while we wait at the cashier he goes to side kitchen to ask the owner to come and we hear the owner starting screaming and insulting the young boy, and using bad words toward this kid and us, saying that he no f...ing time to say hello us and to tell us to go f....ck our selves..... Please stay away from this place, besides the fact that has nothing Italian, the place is full of low grade products, and the place is dirty; the owner should probably go do something else and close this crappy place before he goes belly up. Been here many times and the food and service has always been incredible. Please understand that I have spoken to the owner and he's explained why sometimes the food may take longer to make and it's because every single ingredient used is hand made. You can taste the care that went into everything you eat. Every ingredient is also imported from Italy so you aren't eating super processed ingredients like most American foods. Love even the ambiance in this place and if you are a wine lover this is the place to come and try out wines from every region of Italy. I will always enjoy eating here. Highly recommend, just don't eat here if you're in a hurry as this place is going to be sure to give you the best of everything. read more

A group of us 11 had reservations Saturday evening at 6:00pm we did not get our water or first round of drinks until 6:50pm then they took our order and we did not have anyone come check on us the rest of the night to refill our water or take our drink orders I went to the bar to order and was there for 15 minutes. Edited I was waited on for my order. I went back to the table and again no waiters had come by to check on us. We were finally served our food at 8:30pm and it was not even warm. The meatballs were not good at all. We ask d for the check at 9:15pm and that was a disaster they had so much wrong and we finally left at 10pm. I'm confused about the negative reviews about this restaurant. I stumbled upon this little gem while searching for an impromptu date location on a weekday night. The atmosphere is very cool and calming. We were politely greeted and seated, and the service from our waitress was exceptional. We ordered the salmon and noodles in tomato cream sauce, as well as the sausage and penne in pesto. We really enjoyed our plates, and Chef Timothy came up to us a few times to make sure that we were loving it. I give it 5 stars and I'd definitely want to return with friends for a double date! read more

The pizza and risotto were decent. The cocktails were made the traditional way, which was nice. But the frozen margaritas was not great--they tasted like they had been sitting in the machine for way too long, with a weird metal taste. We were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation, which felt like they forgot about us at the bar, even though it was pretty empty. Once we got a table, the service was pretty quick, but aside from the bartender, the other servers weren't very friendly and felt a bit off. They definitely need to clean up the bathrooms too. read more

This is probably the only really good restaurant in this area. The food is always great and the chef will make you whatever you would like, even if it's not on the menu. Sadly it doesn't come with marinara sauce so we ordered spicy marinara (which was actually spicy and very delicious. Everything is obviously hot and fresh, made in-house. They are happy to make any substitutions you need. No request seemed too big. Our waiter was always around when we needed him and was an added fun to the overall ambiance. We'll definitely be back!

It took about 15-20 minutes before we were greeted, and our meal ended up lasting nearly two and a half hours. The restaurant was also hosting several large parties and a bridal event, which likely contributed to the slow service. The food itself was fine but ultimately felt average and not worth the long wait. I think the staff were doing the best they could, and I hope management is able to work through these growing pains with appropriate training, scheduling more staff during busy events, and limiting the number of simultaneous bookings. I think Lazy Lane has potential, and I hope to see it succeed.
