Spinach & Artichoke Dip and Mozzarella Fritti
    Elizabeth S.

My fiance and I went to Rocco's on a Monday afternoon to celebrate our anniversary. There was easy parking and a half off bottle special which sealed the deal for us. We started with cocktails, I enjoyed the prickly pear martini which was tart but slightly sweet. We were obsessed with the free bread you got with your meal. We got a salad, mozzarella fritti, and spinach and artichoke dip to start, everything was delicious. We split the vodka sauce rigatoni added sausage because the apps filled us up! We did save room for dessert for their mini cannolis, my fiance is not much of a cannoli person but even he heavily enjoyed them. Their happy hour is also a great deal. Service was fast and friendly. They definitely have a local low key homey vibe with their beautiful porch seating area although we decided to sit inside this day. We'll definitely be back!

I've been here so many times and I can't believe I haven't written a review! Sorry Rocco's! A sweet little hidden gem, so close to our home! I was able to call and make a reservation for a Saturday night. It's a small place, with outdoor patio, but a great little vibe. We ordered the following: - A bottle of wine. I think it was $35, and reasonable pricing. - Calamari Fritti, 4/5, it's your typical calmari! - White Pizza, my husband's favorite white pizza. Definitely yummy, 5/5! - Their Special, Hot Honey Pizza, 5/5! DELISH! - Linguini Marinara, 3/5, nothing special. SKIP. - Baked Spinach Ravioli, 10/10!! MUST GET, so scrumptious. We got all this to share between 6 people and it was enough food for sure! The table comes with complimentary bread, and it's good. Ton's of garlic and parmesan. Service is great, and we had a lovely time!

My new favorite Italian spot! The inside is very small but I like the intimate vibe. The service was excellent and everyone working there was so friendly. I've had ironically bland Italian food and overly salty at many Houston spots. I didn't find this issue with any of the dishes here. The complimentary rolls with the olive oil are amazinggg and perfectly toasted and soft. I was craving calamari and it hit the spot! Their marinara was chunky and divine. The highlight of the meal was the chicken parm... I'm crying thinking about it. Extra points for the beautiful espresso martini!

Great food, Great service, cozy ambiance. We drove 45 min to eat there and it was worth it. Tasty garlic bread to start. We had few cocktails - Espresso Martini, peach Bellini and paloma they were gooood. We ordered some appetizers like mozzarella fritti, Scampi, and calamari. For main course...chicken Marsala, spinach ravioli, chicken piccata and caprese salad. Dessert was Mini cannoli. I highly recommend this Reaturant.

Perfect little hole in the wall with relaxed date night vibes. Service was great. Attentive but not overly so. Food came out fresh, fast and full of flavor! I loved the Italian chop salad. Dressing was super lemony which I loved. Pizza was fantastic with a New York style crust! The. Roll. Omg. The roll. With high quality olive oil for dipping. That was definitely a star of the show. Hubs and i enjoyed and will be back!

Went back again and finally sat in this time. Let me say I've been picking up food from Rocco's for over 3 years and the food is always good. Last night we sat in and dined. The food was even better. It came out piping hot and so fresh. The ambience was nice and warming. I love that it's small and intimate. I had the mista salad as my first course. The salad was so fresh and the red pepper vinaigrette was so flavorful. My Cappellini San Marco was AMAZING. My husband had the Baked Spinach Ravioli... OMG so blown away. I had a French 75 and he had an Old Fashioned. As much as I would love to continue to gate keep this restaurant... I'd be doing the city a disservice not sharing this GEM!

12" Tropical Hand Tossed Pizza and Strawberry Mule
    Briane J.

My friend recommended this place because she knows I'm a fiend for mules and they were so top tier. Well balanced and sweet. I ordered the tropical pizza which is mango and shrimp and it was definitely out of left field for me because I'm not an italian/pasta girl. Honestly, it was surprisingly good. It was a good mix of the grilled flavor of the shrimp with the sweetness of mango. I think mango works better on pizza than pineapple. LOL. We went on a Saturday night and it wasn't beyond busy so it can be nice as a good catch up spot to enjoy your company.

Amazing hole in a wall. This is our first time eating in usually we take out. Service was great and the food *chef's kiss*. My faves here are the white pizza and spinach ravioli. If you're lactose, I'm sorry but not really, the ravioli is amazing. We also had the arugula and pear salad which was also good. I recommend calling in advance to see if they are open because their hours are weird or sometimes they are hosting private events. Great place for a date or just a chill night.

Love this place, found it a couple years ago and make it a point to stop every time we're in Houston. Food is delish, they have a nice selection of wines, service is great, and the cozy ambiance is awesome.

An awesome little Italian spot with chill vibes, solid drinks, and flavorful food Parking: There is parking on both street sides of the restaurant. When we arrived the parking was full though. We thought that meant seating would be limited, but it wasn't (there was just one large party that seemed to take up most parking spots). Despite the parking being on the smaller side, it seems like it general is plenty for the size of the restaurant Seating/ambiance: The space is cute and has a lot of natural light from the glass garage door wall. There's several tables inside and there's an outdoor patio as well. The space can get a bit loud since it's pretty small. It wasn't really an issue, but with the larger party there, moments were loud enough to pause our conversations Food/drinks: The espresso martini and the margarita were both amazing ! We also split a bottle of wine at the table. When we arrived, rolls were brought to the table and they were extremely flavorful and delicious! We also had the pasta with chicken - while the pasta was delicious, the chicken was a bit thin and chewy for me. For our table of 4, we split a large salad, the chicken pasta, and a pizza. It was the perfect amount! We then all split a tiramisu as well. Misc: The bathroom is back towards the kitchen. You almost feel like you're walking into the kitchen to go to it. I had a hard time finding it at first despite the space being so small. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back !

This is a local spot for me! It's casual and you never need a reservation, nor will you wait for a table. It's a cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant. They're going to have water at your table immediately, follow it up with fresh, hot rolls covered in olive oil and Parmesan. It's a great start! The wait staff are all very kind. I really have a hard time getting away from the chicken piccata (pro tip: I order it with the crispy chicken they typically serve in the chicken parmesan), but I've also been pleasantly surprised by their seafood dishes.

I ate at Norigami Tuesday night and it was great as were the cocktails served up at the nextdoor bar called Hidden Bar. On Tuesday, I tried the Thai Chili Ginger Margarita ($13) and it was great, complete with a hunk of candied ginger which I "gingerly" consumed throughout my drink experience...see what I did there? Next, I had the Three Dots and a Daiquiri ($13) with Rum, Lime, Velvet Falernum, All Spice and Pineapple and it was very similar to one of my favorite tiki drinks, the Three Dots and a Dash, complete with 3 luxardo cherries. To finish, I had the absolutely incredible Golden Laurel ($16) with Gin, Italicus Bergamot, House Greek Botanical Bitters and Sea Salt. It is equally beautiful served with a clear bay leaf and delicious. Last night, I was guided by the friendly bartender to try the Et Tu Banana" ($15) with Banana Bourbon, Spiced Pear, Creme de Banane, Campari and Citric Acid. I was a little worried about the cocktail being overly banana-y but it wasn't at all. It was a fantastic drink. For my last call, he recommended the Left Hand ($13) with Bourbon, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Chocolate Bitters. Again, fantastic. Both nights, the bartenders and drinks were fantastic. Ambiance is nice with moody lighting. They even have a bidet toilet seat in the bathroom! Hidden Bar is a "hidden" gem, for sure. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Overall, a fun spot with great vibes and definitely worth checking out!

Even this time the GPS took us to an entrance that had us going the wrong way down a one-way, but we eventually figured it out I will say that the parking isn't all that great, but we were able to find a spot. If the parking lot is full you should be able to find street parking nearby Kanpai Club is a sister location to Handos. They share a kitchen and you can walk through an inside door access either. You can find the same cocktails and bites from Handos on the Kanpai menu, but there's also additional drinks and bites The bar feels like a Japanese Izakaya. It's a narrow space resembling a Japanese outdoor bar. It's intimately lit and well decorated. We did have to wait for two spots to open up, but that didn't take too long The bartenders were friendly, professional, and efficient. We went on a Friday night (fairly late), and they had two dedicated bartenders The cocktails were fun and were beautifully crafted. Most were served in novelty glassware. You can order classic cocktails, but both Kanpai and Hando offer a variety of signature cocktails. Most having some sort of Japanese or Asian fusion. They have beer, wine, and extensive sake list, as well as green tea and other nonalcoholic options The cocktails were tasty. The only one I was iffy on was their Espresso martini. It was poured from a machine and I guess there were having issues with it. The presentation was phenomenal. There was a roasted marshmallow garnish. The drink itself was far too Smokey in flavor than I like, or at least in terms of my espresso martinis The Yuzu Kosho fries were incredible. The flavors really hit the spot. The Okinawa Potato salad was both questionable to looks and and to eat lol. This purple mound of potato's had an interesting taste, look, and consistency. It wasn't bad, just... interesting and new Some tips: If you can't find this spot from the street, look for Handos. It's part of this restaurant Ask the bartender about the happy hour menu. And most nights they're open until 12am, but on Fridays and Saturdays they are open until 2am If you order food online (technically from Hando's) you can get 10% off using code: HANDO10. This is part of their "Hando and Chill" special Cheers!!

It looked dark, clubbish, and fun (exactly what I was looking for) and I couldn't wait to come here. After a 25 minute Uber ride we were downtown and walking to our destination. At first we could not find it but thankfully a nice gentlemen showed us where it was. Upon walking in, darkness with these bright lights paved our way. We sat down at the bar, but realized dancing did not start until 10pm. The bartender came over and said to us "we have a speakasy behind door #3" we were like WHAT! Let's go.
