A friend told me about Grexicana and after reading about the Greek/Mexican fusion, I couldn't wait to check it out. The food was such an interesting mix of Greek and Mexican and was very good. There was so much to choose from. I asked the server where the motivation came from to mix Greek and Mexican and he said the chef is Mexican and the owner Greek. Perfect! The restaurant also was mixed in decor and was so cool. I will explore better next time!

I recently checked out Grexicana in Farmingdale after spotting it through one of my American Express resy dining promotions. I had some restaurant credits to use and figured it was the perfect chance to try something new. The name caught my attention right away because it is a mix of Greek and Mexican cuisine, which is not something you see every day. Awesome that it is located blocks alway from my home. I met up with a friend from the neighborhood for a few late-night drinks, and we decided to stop by. The place has a cozy and trendy interior, and it wasn't too crowded for a Saturday night around 9 PM. It was a comfortable spot to relax, enjoy a few drinks, and catch up after dinner. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered beers, nachos, and their standout lamb tacos. The combination of Greek and Mexican flavors worked surprisingly well. The lamb (gyro?) ) was flavorful and it was such a creative twist to have it wrapped in a taco. The nachos were generous in portion and went perfectly with our drinks. The overall presentation and taste of everything made the experience even better. I honestly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It is the kind of place where you can unwind, have a few drinks, and enjoy good food without feeling rushed. The concept itself is refreshing, and it feels like they really put effort into making the fusion work. I will definitely be coming back again, especially to try more of their menu beyond the tacos and nachos.

Went here with my husband and my adult son. The service was top notch! Definitely casual atmosphere. I had a coconut Margarita which was soooo good and sooo filling! We all had the Burria, which was awesome. What a really great fusion.

I had compiled a list of 10 Farmingdale restaurants, and although all of them were highly acclaimed. There was only one place my tummy craved. Grexicana, a Greek-Mexican restaurant with Mexican and Greek art plastered on its walls, and mystical music lightly comforting the ambiance. It was to my surprise and excitement the place was empty. As if they were waiting for us, and the experience was so nice, like we reserved the restaurant and became part of their family. The service was superb. I didn't feel guilty asking the waitress for her recommendation, and as I listened intently to her description of the top menu items, I realized a big problem. EVERYTHING SOUNDED SO GOOD. We had the grilled halloumi with carnitas as an appetizer and I loved how familiar the ingredients were to me. Delicious squeaky cheese fried lightly and paired with tasty lamb and sauce. I recommend pairing the hot sauce with the pickled jalapeno and onion. I loved our entree, the lamb birria over orzo; the orzo served as a shuttle of flavor and the lamb was tender sitting in its juices. There's nothing a man craves more at the end of the day than tender meat and a juicy trip to flavortown. My partner had the chorizo pastitsio, a harmonious marriage of Mexican & Greek. The bechemel would slide into the pasta and chorizo, leaving a lingering satisfaction so divine after every bite. Just when we were about to leave we we were offered Pandora's box...we opened the dessert menu. Our greatest hits all curated coincidentally into one menu. Churro, icecream, brownies, baklava, cheesecake. I had the baklava cheesecake w/ baklava icecream and my partner had the brownie w/ icecream. The first taste of our plates had our eyes wide, and when we experimented with what we ordered, it was otherworldly experience. Pricing was fair, and the portion size was exemplary, we came home with plenty of extra plates to share and enjoy for the next day. We want to commend the kitchen staff, the waitress and the waiter who kept our drinks flowing and our laughs going.

Grexicana Farmingdale, NY @grexicana_farmingdale Grexicana is serving up a unique combination of Mexican & Greek cuisine and is the perfect fusion to send your tastebuds on an amazing dining experience! Their menu has variety and flavor around each dish. We loved how they combined the two cuisines into single dishes that worked amazingly. We loved their spinach and feta empanadas served with tzatziki sauce. Their guac and chips were fresh and delicious. For the mains we loved all four dishes we got, especially the birria tacos and shrimp and grits! We loved the artwork on the wall and ambiance! You gotta get here and give them a try! I found one of my new favorite restaurants! This place truly is a hidden gem of find. I had never heard of it but wanted to try something new for Valentines Day weekend and both my boyfriend and father's birthday. Our party of four was thrilled with all our food and drinks. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I'm dreaming of having my baklava French toast and sexy fig drink again!

Came in after seeing an Ig post about the restaurant, it so happened to be the ending of love island and they were doing a weekly showing on a Sunday, which is also Bogo -/2 drinks, and they hosted a Q&A event! Super cute. The place is not big but the food made a statement! It is very clean and the staff was so friendly! We have sent several people here 20plus, bc we rave about the food, the care and staff! The owner was so nice and accommodating to us and our child! We had a wide arrange of food, from entree to appetizers and drinks and everything was just spot on! I have a pretty extensive pallet and usually hard to please but everything was great, my husband was confused when I critiqued nothing! If you are hesitant about trying don't be! Such a great twist to get best of both worlds in one place!

Relatively new place, seems to be busy all the time. We called to make a reservation and the table was ready by the time we arrived. Service was great; the manager/owner was walking around surveying the service and the food. For the appetizer we had the empanada and the crab cake, which was a specialty item. And for the entree the grilled steak and lemon wedges was good. I believe they have something with the Grexi cheesesteak queso wrap. It's super filling and delicious. Majority of the people I seen who ordered this had to take the other half to go for leftovers. The drinks were good as well. For desert we tried the churro split, it's like a banana split but with churros. It was great however we were to full to finish. Great date night spot.

First off, the service is outstanding! Thank you Katerina for being so pleasant and accommodating, and for even reminding us outside that we forgot our leftovers lol. This is our third time here and have nothing bad to say. We love the food including the elote, birria tacos, saganaki, burrito, fish and birria tacos, haloumi and carnitas, and the hibiscus drink is also delicious. The ambiance is pretty and has beautiful decor. Can't wait to come back:)

My brother has always wanted to try this place, but we never had a chance to actually step foot inside the Library Cafe. As the name suggests, the restaurant sits at the site of the old town library, and the bar area has tall shelves and a rolling ladder to pay homage to the name. To maximize the restaurant week menu, three of us tried different appetizers. The ahi tuna taco was the best of the lot- crispy shell and nicely prepared tuna filling. The Thai calamari was a little too overcooked and the sweet sauce was cloying. I didn't get to try too much of the French onion soup because my dad almost inhaled it whole, but it was gooey and comforting. I had the honey-soy glazed salmon with broccolini. The salmon was a little dry, but the glaze and cashew went well with it. Maybe a touch of spice could have improved the dish. The broccolini was nicely textured and not too bitter. My mom's fish and chips were underwhelming, though the not-proper "chips" were well fried and seasoned. It was not served with vinegar either. My brother had the Buddha bowl which he enjoyed and felt was a good health conscious option. I did love that they allowed my dad -- who was not feeling too well-- to order just an entree while the rest of the table had the restaurant week menu. I know some restaurants require all members of the table to order off the prix fixe menu sometimes. He had the burger, which was cooked very precisely to medium-rare. We did have dessert though we were stuffed at this point. The sticky toffee pudding cake was lovely, moist, and so decadent without being overly heavy. I ordered the wild berry cheesecake, and while the clearly house made berry compote was a nice touch, it was just a little underwhelming next to the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we had a good time at the Library Cafe, and though service was a little slow due to sudden rush of diners, it was a fun little weekday dinner. I did see signs for their happy hour, which I'd love to try-- especially their cocktails named after writers!

Never went to a bar that needed a rolling ladder to access the top shelves. The high ceilings ( believe it was a renovated library ) even allowed for a small sailboat to be displayed above the main entrance foyer. Shout out to the staff. We were immediately welcomed by the bartender and informed we could sit anywhere rather than wait to be seated. Our server Annie was exceptional: welcoming, friendly and attentive with some appreciative suggestions from the menu. The menu, excluding the St Patrick's March Menu, was your typical American bar pub food fare: appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and limited entrees. Started off with the onions soup which was cheesy but light on onion slices but very good. Passed on the St Pats March Menu ( except for the Guinness beer ) and stuck with sandwich options. The sandwiches came with a side ( other sides available with an up charge). The sliced steak sandwich, roast beef French Dip sandwich and classic burger were all cooked to perfection and served with either a salad or waffle fries. The Library features an extensive cocktail menu with creative names of famous authors and even novels. In addition there is a separate open air event area ( above and overlooking the restaurant floor ) for private events or parties. Overall a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some good food that's reasonably priced. Definitely will be back when in the area again. One note Street parking is limited but there are municipal parking lots nearby.
