This place is awesome! I met one of the owners, and Chris is outstanding. I love people that love their business, and I could tell this guy loves people and loves his business. I went on a Friday night, right when they opened, and, of course, no one was there. This is a food truck, so I really wasn't expecting much by way of ambiance or aesthetics, but they literally had tables and chairs and canopies set up. Super inviting and really chill! Had I not been in a rush, I would have totally eaten there. I had the sausage pizza, and it was absolutely incredible! I love the melted fontina in there, and the crust had a really nice, chewy bite to it. The cook was perfect: the cheese was perfectly melted, the sausage had great flavor, and the pizza as a whole was really enjoyable. I'll say, if there was one complaint I had, it was that the pizza itself was a little greasy, so I think they were probably a little heavy-handed on the chili olive oil. Other than that, it was really good! This is one of those places that's just a really good product from a very talented food truck person. If you haven't tried this pizza yet, please do because I absolutely love it and will totally be back!

Pizza was delicious. Ordered the honey & burrata and the pepperoni. Texture was soft and gooey crust. Sauce was very flavorful and cheese was stretchy. Service was nice and fast. Ambiance is outdoors, but nice chairs/tables to sit. Decor was nice and more of an upscale food truck seating area.

Nuovo Pizza is one of those places that makes you wonder why more restaurants don't do things this way. Tucked into an outdoor food truck patio at Shepherd and Willow, it's visible from the street with an easy entrance across from The Row. Best part? They're dog-friendly - something shockingly rare in this part of town - so when we DM'd to ask if our pup could join, the enthusiastic yes already set the tone. They operate like a true outdoor restaurant, not just a pop-up with tables. Even in winter, the space is enclosed and warmed with heaters that actually work. You can grab pizza to go or settle in at one of the tables, which are perfect for groups of up to six. Pizzas come out fast, and the whole setup feels relaxed without feeling thrown together. What really stood out was the service. All 3 people working outside checked in - asking how the pizza was, stopping to chat, even saying hello to our dog. It felt genuine and personal in a way you rarely get at bigger brick-and-mortar spots. I hope they never lose that part of the experience. We ordered the Queen's Margherita, which was fresh, balanced, and everything you want from a classic - especially with burrata involved. Mmmmm burrata... But the real star was the Pepe (ordered no arugula, though it still made an appearance). Even so, the flavor was unreal. Between the pepperoni, aged cheese, and fresh balsamic, it's easily the best gourmet pizza I've had in Fresno - and we've tried them all. Sorry to the hot honey fans, but the Pepe is in a league of its own. At $20-$23 per pizza, Nuovo is a must-try for anyone who appreciates scratch-made pizza, quality ingredients, a chill atmosphere, and a place where your dog is just as welcome as you are. We'll absolutely be back.

I never would have thought my finest pizza experience in town would come courtesy of a food truck. The odds shot up considerably when I learned that their pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven. This is because the high heat of the oven makes the crust chewy and uniquely crispy. The rapid cooking process helps the toppings retain their freshness and flavor, while also imparting extra crispness. The burning wood imparts a smoky flavor to the pizza, which enhances its overall taste. Their signature Hot Honey Burrata rises to the top of the list of the best pizzas I have tried in the Central Valley. It is a delicious combination of pepperoni and margherita, with a drizzle of Mike's hot honey and Enzo's Fresno chili oil. The Neopolitan-style crust had an exceptional texture: crispy on the outside with a nice char, soft and chewy on the inside. They use high-quality flour for an artisanal crust and fresh San Marzano tomatoes for a bright, fresh flavor. The toppings were fresh, crisp, and vibrant. The sauce was fresh, tangy, and balanced, really complementing the cheese and toppings. The seasonings, drizzle of hot honey, and chili oil added an extra dimension of flavor. The wood smoke infuses the crust and toppings with a delicious, authentic smoky flavor. The pizza successfully connects traditional with modern elements, tastefully creating a fresh perspective on classic pizzas. The La Spetza is altogether a unique pizza experience. Created with creamy fontina and sharp gorgonzola cheeses, fennel sausage, fresh basil, Calabrian chilis for some heat, and finishes with a drizzle of Enzo's Fresno chili oil. It promises to be their fieriest, richest, and most complex pizza yet, and they deliver exceedingly. The wood-fired pizzas create exceptional texture, crispy toppings, smoky flavor, and fast cooking time that cannot be replicated with conventional ovens, resulting in a more flavorful and rustic pizza experience. Service was prompt, helpful, and friendly.

Excellent pizza, bills itself as being the best in town, but I am not sure it quite passes that litmus. Annex reigns supreme, but I would say this place is tied for second with Annesso. We had the pepe and hot honey burrata, both were very good. (I wasn't a fan of the arugula after all on the pepe, but thats a me thing, there was nothing wrong with it.) Service is good, you order at a little kiosk when you walk in, food is brought to your table. They do have a heater inside the seating area, but just one, not sure how warm it is on really cold days, or if they have any mitigations for summer. Will definitely come back.

I have found my pizza place! When I crave pizza, I'm looking for a specific flavor and texture in the crust and Nuovo is it! Nuovo makes a killer wood fired pizza for a food truck. A lot of trucks will toss pizzas out of Oonis or other deliberately portable ovens but these guys actually smashed a full sized wood fired oven into their truck. Prices are fair, quality is fantastic, and the menu is simple. I really enjoyed the Hot Honey Ricotta and would strongly recommend it. Definitely worth a visit!

This was so fun! They have someone who greets you really nice and friendly personality. They make you feel like family . Nice music playing the misters were great . The pizza was really goood gave the Anesso vibe . We got the hot honey burrata it was so good although i think it would be even more delicious if they would use less fresh mozzarella. Food: the hot honey burrata was very good!! A must try! Crust was a little bit rubbery but eating it fresh out the oven was the best. The spetza was interesting, good but very bold (might've been the gargonzola) Service: expect to wait since it is freshly made! Right away, we were gonna finish one pizza (1/2 of one for me and 1/2 of the other for my hubby) and take the rest to go but the guy suggested we just take them in boxes. We were thinking of eating there but there were a bunch of flies so we decided to eat in our car. Got our pizzas to go because we knew we couldn't finish two pizzas in one sitting but weren't even offered napkins when handed our pizzas. Guy who was taking orders and giving orders seemed too busy to be bothered, I guess. Also their fridge wasn't working when we went so we had to buy sodas at a different food truck, nbd. Ambiance: setup on the outside of the food truck is cool. But it is on a dirt lot so if there are a lot of people walking around or it's windy, expect dust to kick up. This could be great pizza with a few small tweaks. The toppings options are pretty slim and specialty offerings are not terribly appealing. Some flavor development is on order here. The crust was a bit overworked so it was more rubbery than chewy and needed a little salt, but closer to a Neapolitan style crust than most places around FresClo. It's a food truck / trailer so I get keeping the menu tight for a number of reasons. But there were barely any toppings on our pizzas for a pretty penny, so I don't see a return soon. Definitely try it if you're growing tired of Me n Ed's or Marco's etc. read more

Fictitious Business Practice! We were driving from Manteca To LA decided to stop by in Fresno for a Pizza. We found Nuovo as good choice so we decided to drive in 20 mins from 99 freeway only to find out that this place doesn't exist. The food truck wasn't there although yelp page says open. Called 7-8 times no answer. We had kids with us and we were all super hungry. This spoiled the whole trip. read more

I'm so happy I got to try Nuovo! Me and my husband normally have to go out of town to get some good wood fired pizza, but now we have one that we like here in town! The taste and texture of the pizza was perfect. The person who took our order was very nice and our pizza's came out at a timely manner. There is seating here, but it is limited. We were more than happy to eat outside of our car and watch the sunset, super chill if you're into that lol I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't! read more

We hired Nuovo Pizza for our daughter's first birthday party (with about 100 guests), and they absolutely blew us away! We unexpectedly had to reschedule the event due to a death in the family, and Chris and Jarrod were so understanding. They worked with me seamlessly to reschedule without any issues. On the day of the party, they set up a beautiful buffet-style table and continued to bring out a delicious variety of fresh, hot pizzas that everyone loved. From start to finish, they were professional, communicative, and delivered exactly what they promised. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing the pizza was. I truly can't recommend Nuovo Pizza enough, and a special thank you to Chris and Jarrod for making the day so memorable and easy! read more

THE BEST in Fresno. Better than Anneso's or The Annex. This is Napolitano style pizza. I'd much rather compare this to Flower House in SLO, Fuocco's in Fullerton, Calabria's in San Diego or Dog & Bear in Tahoma than anything else in the Valley. You won't find a giant supreme pizza for a family but you will get a real Margarita Pizza from a real Pizzaolo which you won't want to share. My wife loves the Hot Honey Burata but I'm a simple man so I like the Margarita. No matter what you pick though you'll love it. Glad to finally have something like this is Fresno. read more

Super good pizza. I have been waiting for pizza like this to come to Fresno. Here and South of Shaw beer company are the top two pizza places in the valley, hands down. I would say Nuovo has a slight advantage in terms sauce quality. Overall really great atmosphere with outside seating and lighting. I will be back often. read more

I tried the Margherita pizza and my husband ordered the hot honey burrata pizzas; they both were so good. You could tell the ingredients were quality and fresh! I would definitely get the hot honey burrata for myself next time - it was a nice mix and of sweet and savory. My only complaint is that they didn't have napkins. Luckily we keep some in our car, so we were fine, but just a heads up in case they're out next time, bring some yourself! read more

One of the best pizza's I have had. So good, we went back for a second time 2 nights later. Being from NY, we have tried dozens of styles. Nuovo's dough was cooked perfectly and the mix of toppings were well balanced. The team behind the counter were great as well. Highly recommend! read more

Wow!!! Decided to try Nuovo. What can I say but yummmmmmmy! We tried all the pizzas on the menu and it did not disappoint! The pizza is truly so good that (since I don't live in the Central Valley) I make the first thing I do when I come to visit, getting some nuovo pizza. There's something so tasty about eating wood-fire oven pizza with ingredients that you know are fresh AND you can see the oven in the truck as they make it. And the dough tastes way better than other pizza places locally. As a veteran pizza connoisseur who hasn't found too many high-quality options in the Fresno area to quench my palate, I must say Nuovo is different. I stopped by the other day to grab a pepperoni pizza on my lunch break and not only was I blown away with how quick the pizza took to cook but also by the immaculate taste. The crust was perfectly cooked with just right amount of crisp. You can tell the owner handpicks his ingredients and makes his sauce from scratch.
