This place has several things going for it, the most immediate of which is its ebullient owner/operator. This guy will start forcing candy samples into your hand (and your child's) the second that you walk through the door. No matter how you try to demur, he will not take no for an answer. He is a generous and jolly candy-vangelist. Another impressive trait is the range of licorice. This was my main reason to visit the first time, and here I found all of my favorites and many others. They supposedly have the biggest licorice selection in the Midwest, with products from Finland, Holland, Australia, England, Italy, and the U.S. Of course the owner pushes half a dozen samples on me each time and then throws into my bag a few different pieces to try gratis. Besides licorice, I was also looking for a couple of retro candy bars. Unfortunately they didn't have either. I was surprised that a guy in the confectionery biz had never heard of Valomilk, but he gave me a substantial explanation of why he no longer carries the Idaho Spud. However, there are plenty of other old-school items: Charleston Chew, Black Cow, Mallo Cup, Big Hunk, Sky Bar, et al et al et al. Plus most of the modern ones that you would expect. AND--really good quality chocolates such as malt balls, pretzels, cashews, espresso beans, and a delightful amaretto almond. read more

This is a small candy shop that says it makes it's own chocolate candies. The chocolates malt balls are very good but they are expensive. The other bulk gummies are nicely displayed and the owners love to give out free samples to everyone. (You'll come out of here with a massive sugar buzz.) I seem to never leave without spending around 40 bucks so get ready for the sticker shock at the register as there is no way to know how much you're spending while shopping. read more

Tucked away on Devon Avenue just east of Central is a candy store that is a genuine treasure! One wall is lined with glass jars of gummy bears and licorice strings and the like while the display counter is full of chocolate covered nuts, giant malted milk balls, caramels and just about every yummy treat you can imagine--but what makes this store truly special is the proprietor who greeted every customer with free samples and every child with a handful of candy from the cannisters. Absolute fantastic place. No GMO all natural ingredients. They also offer all there gummie assortment is fat free and gluten free. The owner is a hoot. Loves his old school candy and very knowledgeable. We were almost force fed every sample in store. The caramels were amazing and toffee decadent. Vinni, owner of Nuts N' More was very gracious in giving us some samples of their DELICIOUS chocolates and as well as their handmade caramels, which by the way just melt in your mouth! This is a RETRO store of old fashioned candies from the 1960, 1970 etc. He was very generous and explained that some of the liquorice candy is from Finland, and other countries which is fascinating. A very small shop filled with a large variety of retro candies, assorted bulk chocolates, gummies, black and red licorices and more. Two friendly and nice ladies were operating the shop during my recent first visit, offering commentary and free samples of pretty much all the bulk items sold. I was very happy to find such a good selection of licorices and spent an amount commensurate with my joy. Try their white candy iced menthol black licorice. Very high quality milk and dark chocolate covered nuts and raisins are at this moment filling my happy mouth. Shipping from their website is free. Nuts 'N More is a true neighborhood gem! Vinnie, the owner, is incredibly friendly and very generous with free samples of chocolate-covered nuts, fruits and coffee beans. Their dark chocolate cashews and amaretto chocolate pecans are my favorites. I went in for a pre-packaged bag of old school candy for Halloween, and I left with dark chocolate for home and a tummy full of delicious samples!! Love it here! read more

My wife and I were looking at tile next door and decided to stop in this past weekend. We were greeted with a friendly smile and offerings of samples of a variety of chocolates and the best caramel I've tasted. Nuts N More is a gem! My fiancé and I walked in by chance and were greeted by a very lovely man who I assumed was the owner.
