I ordered: Matcha Soft Serve Bonbons: Jasmine Dark / Pandan Coconut / Guava Cheesecake / Mango Passion Caramel Hard to believe this soft serve is vegan given how creamy it is. Excellent matcha flavor. Also tried my friend's jasmine soft serve and that was excellent too. Bonbons are of course pricey but well worth the splurge. Service was friendly and helpful. This is immediately one of my new favorite dessert shops in Chicago now.

We only got the matchas, but this is such a cute little store so many varieties of chocolate, perfect for adventurous chocolate lovers! The strawberry and mango syrups were super fruity and definitely brightened up the drinks The matcha is also a great color, but I wish the matcha flavor was stronger. The sweeteners almost covered too much of the matcha, as I'm ordering a matcha latte, not a strawberry latte.

Tl;dr Cute Noble Square sweets shop with beautiful chocolates, great matcha drinks, and soft serve! ===== Love visiting Sugoi and seeing the array of colorful chocolate truffles. Definitely a great place to pick up gifts or a little treat-yoself pick-me-up. They have truffles, bars, caramels, and more! You can find some really intriguing flavors like mala and tom yum flavored chocolate bars, plus some seasonal truffle flavors like Dubai chocolate. While you're there, treat yourself to an extremely tasty and reasonably priced matcha drink and/or soft serve! Really appreciate that the drinks and soft serve menu have vegan and dairy-free options, too! One random note: we tried the Marz Sweat drink that they carry here once, and while the packaging was extremely reminiscent of the best drink of all time (Pocari), the flavor was not. It wasn't bad, but don't buy it if you're looking for a dupe of Pocari. It was more like a citrus-y carbonated water.

Great product, great service. Didn't go early enough to try the legendary mochi. But their bonbon was phenomenal. The matcha soft serve was really good as it still have the nutty bitter flavor I like about matcha ...wish it would be a bit more intense but then it wouldn't be soft serve I guess :) The black sesame chocolate is a must if you like black sesame

I love this place. They have me coming back constantly for their vegan matcha soft serve and their marukyu koyamaen matcha stock. Their staff are always so friendly. The owners are super knowledgeable about their ingredients and are so happy to talk about all things matcha and Japan! The shop is small, but very mighty. There is no seating area, however there is a small standing counter to get your ice cream indoors. The shop is also filled with hand crafted bon bons and unique asian flavoured chocolates. It is a great place to go for finding fun gifts!

The matcha latte and soft serve were both delicious and very strong! I wanna come back to try the bon bons:) they also have a super large selection of matcha powders to make it at home

Would reorder everything again! Their matcha soft serve was so creamy and tasted like ceremonial grade matcha, however I recommend sharing it because the matcha flavor starts to linger on your tongue and get bitter. The bon bons were so perfect- we got the cookie and black sesame salted egg flavor. The cookie one tasted like the name and had a good crunch, and the other one tasted exactly like salted egg which I love. Chocolate was not too sweet and they're so pretty too. They have tons of other unique Asian flavors, both in bon bons and chocolate bars, so highly recommend stopping by for a sweet treat.

I came for the first time for their matcha soft serve. The flavor was amazing, perfect texture. No notes! I bought matcha powder to try which is the same they use for their ice cream. Excited to try more of their stuff, which they were opened more days!

The best matcha soft serve cone I've ever had! Everything in the store looks super cute, friendly service. Can't wait to go back and try their chocolates!

Staff: friendly and welcoming. Food: yummy and beautiful. Price: on the high end, but worth it for a treat Great flavor selection. I didn't try the Macha soft serve, but I hear it's fantastic. The Macha late, I did try and I would absolutely get it again. The chocolates were true artistry, however, I don't think I'd come back just for them. Pro tip: the box of 4 chocolates is more expensive than the individual pieces as well as the box of 6. Definitely do a bit of math to see because while it looks like a deal, you're not actually saving money.

This cute little dessert/confection store is only a 15 min walk away from my apt but I've only been to it twice!! The only con is that they're only open weekends and close at 6pm. I tried their matcha and cereal soft serve yesterday (with caramel popcorn pieces) and I can now confidently say I like their matcha ice cream better than a very popular matcha place in Chinatown this matcha flavor is more rich and a bit more bitter but in a good way. I've had their chocolate bons bons before too and they come in so many flavors ranging from yuzu to PB&J! I want to try one of their matcha drinks next and purchase a new matcha whisk :)

Came here because I was craving some matcha soft serve ice cream and this shop's matcha hit the spot! The soft serve was nice and creamy, and it being vegan is a plus. I got a 6 piece pack of chocolates as well to try. My favorite out of the ones I got was the Chicago corn!

I think it used to be called Tomoe Ame, but it's the same as ever, though it used to come with a tiny plastic or even metal toy, and now it comes with a toy tattoo. The candy is a lightly-flavored set-jelly candy, much like a Turkish Delight, and the inner wrapper right next to the candy is rice-paper that melts in your mouth! I think we used to shop down Wentworth south of Cermak, and there are still authentic restaurants and all kinds of shops there. Nowadays we mostly head to the Chinatown Square open-air mall. This time we stopped in the Ichiban Candy & Snacks store. They have so many kinds of sweets, and yes, Botan Ame! They sell a trendy new ice cream bar, Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Flavor! Inside a fairly thick chocolate shell, the filling is like skinny long bright green sprinkles! It's fun and unusual. Even better, while we were there (Nov 2025), if you bought over $35 of candy, (we did :-), the friendly staff gave out a free ice cream bar as a sample! We all got to taste it. Pretty good! They have good old White Rabbit candy, like a white taffy roll. They have unusual "Chinese flavors" of Lay's Potato Chips we got Cucumber, Lime, Peking Duck, Five Spice, and Wasabi. They also have cans of formed potato chips like pringles. Other than the spicy flavors and the wasabi, none really have the flavor in the name, but they are all interesting, and every one we tried went well with beer :-). You can never go wrong with various flavors of Kit Kat. We like the original Pocky sticks and the chocolate-filled Hello Panda cookies. And there is a vast assortment of by-the-pound hard candies and chewy candies. We stop in now and then just to refill our candy dishes :-)
