Beware... let me preface my review is specially associated with the purchase of the Groupon offer for massage and hydrofacial. I spent over $200 for the services which is fair in terms of discount offered, howeve, you must read the fine print. I scheduled my service and believe I was clear this was a Groupon purchase. The information at the bottom of the Groupon states "it can be repurchased every 90 days". The question is, why if I went to this spa at a different location in 2021 and have a Groupon with a 90 day repurchase clause was I denied a service. The staff were emphatic I didn't tell them it was a Groupon ( I agree to disagree), I was not allowed the service, I was offered a discount on the service. I am now fighting with Groupon for a credit. Before purchasing a Groupon for this establishment , make sure you call, get all the details because they will blame it on advertising issues with Groupon and not take the customer's word into consideration that possibly they could be in the wrong. read more

I bought a groupon for 3 laser Lipo and vitamin b shots. It was with Sarah and she was nice. I just had my first appointment today and I was kinda shocked when I was asked by the front desk to pay for CONSULTATION FEE for 25$. don't get me wrong, I'm fine with paying 25 IF I DID RECEIVE A FORM of "proper consultation". Front desk: we would have to charge you $25 for consulatation fee and that's the only time you'll pay for it. Me: consultation fee? For what? I didn't get any consultation or whatsoever (aside from the explanation of what's gonna be done). FD: it's hard to do consultation because everything is done online. And she explained what will be done and that's consultation. Me: (in my mind: are you for real?!) her explaining what will happen is NOT a consultation-- that's a practice done in all services. When you go get a massage, the massage therapist will tell you what's she's gonna do and what will You like. When you go to get your hair done, you're getting asked what you liked. In addition to this, is she a medical doctor to have consultation fee? I didn't get a meal plan or whatever. My husband is a doctor and even he was appalled. I told the front desk that they should have clients be aware of this at the start of the session instead of creeping it after. It left a distasteful first experience and the front desk was not even friendly. Up front tell people how much you really charge instead of sneaking it. Will I come back? Sure. It seems promising. I've been wanting to get laser hair removal for 15 years or so, but was just too scared. One of my girlfriends got it & her results were amazing. After one year, she literally has 3 tiny, thin hairs growing from each armpit. (She's going back to get those taken care of, don't worry!) So, I did some research & although Hulya's Aesthetic & Wellness Center is about an hour from my house, their reviews told me this was the place to go. They were right! The center is clean, the staff is patient, polite & best of all, the actual procedure was so fast & literally painless! PAINLESS!!! The actual procedure took less than 3 minutes for BOTH of my armpits! Once you enter their hospital grade treatment suite, you clean your armpits (to remove any deodorant) with some dedicated cleansing cloths, put on some cool eye protection glasses, and away you go! It maybe took the technician about 30-45 seconds for each armpit! Preparation was literally just "Shave the area you're getting treated the night before." How easy is that? I can't wait for my next session, next month (4-week follow up was recommended) & to see how quickly these results come in (or don't, ha-ha)! Found this place on Groupon. The deal included full body treatment with needles, cupping, electric stimulator, head acupressure, and cosmetic facial acupuncture. I received cupping and what I am assuming was a full body treatment with needles which was only applied to my back. Once I was finished with the cupping and needles, the lady informed me that my session was over. I asked what about the rest of the services I paid for which were included in my Groupon and she explained there wasn't enough time and didn't think it was necessary. I told her they should watch what they advertise because it is extremely misleading and I know I wouldn't have bought the deal if I knew it wasn't going to include everything listed. I gave two stars because what services that were actually performed were helpful. Anyone thinking of purchasing a Groupon please beware. read more

DO NOT GO! Complete scam. First they charge you an additional $25 consult fee. They then "test" your PH level to see if you can do the services. Which they then say you failed. I took off work multiple times playing this game- I bought the test strips they used. Passed with flying colors every time! I go in for my appointment with my test strips- that were BRAND NEW. Did the test past went back to my room and they come in to tell me I failed. I told her I did the test and knew I passed. We went back in and did the test- I passed with my strips 5 times in a row. She dips her strips in and all that happens is that it gets wet. Her strips expire in 2019- mine in 2021! Clearly they have bad supplies. She still refused to do the service- but they had already charged me for it!! Not to mention- they were talking about their mouse problem while I'm in the waiting room, clearly they have a sanitary issue. read more

They lost my chart and wouldn't honor the packages that I had paid for and stopped using die to pregnancies (at which time I was told they never expire), breast-feeding, and pandemic even after I sent them my receipts and cc bills. Their receptionist also told me that their medical director, and NP, is an MD. I would give 0 stars if I could. I called and emailed many times to resolve the issue and they would never call me back and never responded to my emails. I think this entire episode could likely be reported to the state bc it is very unethical but I haven't decided if I will go that route. There are many aesthetic practices in the area to which you are likely better off going. As an example I go to another med-spa that did honor my pre-pregnancy purchases and I continue to be a happy client there. read more

I purchased a laser hair removal gift certificate for my wife from this establishment. It was for 6 treatments. My wife was very displeased to say the least. Having had laser hair removal previously, my wife was used to the process and what to expect. However, she saw next to no results or changes after her first three sessions. She then spoke to the staff about her concerns as there appeared to be no thinning of the hair or stunting of growth. They intensified the treatment, but to the point of burning her skin. Now it did not scar but it did scab over and was an unpleasant experience. Again she spoke to the staff, who seemed to have little regard for the problems or the ineffective treatment. They were also very inconsistent with treatment as they used two different lasers throughout the course of the program. We would highly encourage you to seek treatment at other establishments. This place should be SHUT DOWN. My mom was going there to get her arms lasered the first few times she was happy with her experience to the point where I went here as well. My last visit to Nuvo they had me sign a contract stating that they have a new laser machine which is stronger and made sure that I was following normal laser rules and procedures. My mom went soon after my appointment and they NEVER had her sign a contract about the stronger machine, she had been following normal laser rules. Not knowing about the machine my mom followed with her normal laser procedure. The next day immediately she was feeling pain on her arms and realized what they had done to her.She called Nuvo and they told her to come in. She went to Nuvo and the owner prescribed her an ointment which did not help and on top of that that NEVER at the least refunded the service or even called to follow up. I found Hulya's Medi-Spa (old name) on Living Social about two years ago. I specifically wanted to improve my skin's blemishes and texture so I purchased a package of chemical peels. Upon first meeting Hulya there was an instant personal connection.....I add this because it is important to me when a professional is touching my skin or body how comfortable I feel in their presence and how I feel in their business' atmosphere. She was unlike many skin care professional I have come across because she seemed genuinely concerned about the health of my skin and results MORE than she was concerned about how many products I bought. She did not sell or force any products on me when I visited her...she wanted to know about my regimine, what my eating and intake habits were, my stress levels, and my physiclal activity. I can attest that I've rarely come across a skincare professional that believes (and practices) in the holistic approaches to health. Hulya is very knowledgeable about various skin types, colors, reactions, and overall health. I have medium to dark skin and we communicate about my specific issues, genetics, expected results, and progress. I know she is adept in skin differences because Hulya travels the world to various continents/countries to participate in professional conferences that focus on skin care, anti-aging, techniques, technology and more. She is experienced and continually educates herself and her staff on practices to better serve her diverse clientele demographics. Using the packages have been a slow process, so I have experienced a change in personnel. All of the aestheticians have been knowledgeable, professional and attentive at all times when I am under their care. They have been personable and courteous, again, very important to me when my body is exposed and prodded. The administrative staff is pleasant and professional. I receive confirmation calls, texts, and e-mails. The appointment logistics are always on point. I got a Groupon for lazer hair removal for 6 treatments for a small area at this company and was very excited when I went in for my first appointment and was assured by the woman doing the procedure that at least 95% of my hair would be gone after my treatments. After all 6 treatments my hair has barely decreased, none is gone and basically no change happened. I called the salon to speak to someone about my disappointment and no one answered or returned my message I left on the machine. I also emailed a few weeks later after not hearing back and got no response from them that way either. They make promise they clearly can't keep and have completely awful customer service. This is on top of minor issues during my treatments such as them switching locations and not informing me so that I showed up to my appointment and saw a piece of paper on the door saying they were at a different location now. I drove to that location and was late for my appointment because of that and they refused to see me because of it. I live over an hour away from this new location so I said I'd wait until they could see me instead of rescheduling which the receptionist assured me would be very soon and within 20-30 minutes at most. I ended up having to leave after over a hour because I would've been late for work. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

Got the anti-aging/European facial through Living Social. Nice office, but Mariam did not walk me through anything she was doing or even what kind of facial she was giving me. I mentioned that I wanted extractions around the nose area (sorry if TMI for some folks), and she said ok. After facial was over, I saw that they were still there. It was pretty obvious, I was surprised by this. She had to go back and extract after I already did the mask and she applied the serums, and my face was cool which meant my pores were closed which made it more painful. I would only think about returning with another Groupon- definitely not worth the full amount of $110. I would check after extractions to make sure I'm satisfied before moving on to mask and serums and try a different aesthetician. I feel weird writing this review midway through my treatments, but there are some things that should be said - everyone there seems to have a very casual attitude about laser hair removal. Two different aestheticians have used the phrase "or whatever" in explaining something to me. If you are going to shoot a laser at my vag, there are no "whatevers" about it. I need to be filled to the brim with confidence, and I am not. I continue to go because I have paid for the sessions, but honestly, they treat it like it's something they could do while I was getting a pedicure. There seems to be no routine flow between aestheticians. Each one seems to conduct laser hair removal in their own way. One lady left the room to allow me to undress and 1 month later at the next appt, the other aesthetician stood and waited for me to "take your skirt off or flip it up or whatever" - really really unprofessional. The same lady who told me to flip up my skirt also did not offer me paper towels or baby wipes in order to wipe off the excess aloe gel, so when she left the room after the treatment, I had to look around the room and find those items for myself. It seems like Groupon has brought them a lot of business, but one thing I am sure of - there would be WAY more complaints if people were paying full price for these kinds of attitudes and treatments. read more

I'd like to share my experience with this palce. Before purchasing a Groupn for 1 hr massage, I read most of the reviews and decided to proceed with my purchase and to make sure to get the massage scheduled with Shantel (based on the recommendations). Upon scheduling, I specifically asked for an appointment with Shantel and was assured that it will be. Upon arrival, I was given quite a few papers to fill out and sign which cut into a scheduled hour of massage time. After completing the paperwork, washing hands I was finally in the room 15 minutes into an hour. The lady came in, gave me instructions and left the room. During the massage, I was thinking to myself that it is definitely NOT the deep tissue massage! The massage was over 45 minutes after the start, the lady left the room and once I proceeded to leave the tip in the envelope provided in the room , I discovered that it was NOT Shantel that I specifically asked for! Super disappointing. Upon leaving the office, I was not asked about my experience, the front desk staff was not friendly, and was super indifferent to the customers' experience. I live close by so was hoping to find a go-to place for my massages, and this was definitely not it. They did not gain a customer in me nor any positive recommendations for their business. read more

This was the first time I got laser hair removal. I was a little nervous during my first session cause I heard mixed reviews on the pain. However, I was pleasantly surprised on how painless it was. She starts off at a very low level and depending on your pain tolerance she increases it. I saw results instantly. I had very dark hair that grew back ridiculously quickly but after each session I had to shave less and less frequently. After the 6 sessions the hair is a lot lighter and I shave a LOT less frequently. I would definitely recommend it but I would wait for a Groupon. They always have deals for this place. read more

You all know how rare it is for me to give out five stars so when I do a company has to earn it and Hulya's sure did. Like many other people I first found them on Groupon and decided I would give it a try. I decided to start with my lady parts and while there decided to do my arm pits as well which they let me purchase the Groupon for in the store so I didn't have to pay full price. The location can be very hard to find but they were very good about explaining where they were in relation to where I was wondering the plaza aimlessly. The first thing you do is fill out paperwork (consent and history type) and the papers also clearly explain the process you will be undergoing. Then they take you back to a private room so you can talk about the area and treatment you want, the girls leave so you can get undressed and shave if necessary. There are also baby wipes so you can remove any lotions/deodorant and freshen up if need be. Then you are put on the table and they apply a generous amount of gel, really it's like you're swimming in it, and apply the laser. To be completely honest I didn't feel a thing 99% of the time; the worst feeling I had felt like a sunburn and I could feel the laser pulling at my stubble. Overall though there were times I literally was still laying there waiting for her to start and she would go "Okay I'm done." Nina was wonderful and super professional which helped any awkwardness I felt. She is laser certified too I found out and can do the Botox they offer so I'm going to have to look into that. I did want to address the reviews that talk about Kim their manager - she no longer works there so any reviews that discuss her are really no longer applicable. Professional manscaping can definitely be an awkward experience. However, I was so impressed with the quality of service and results that Hulya's provided that I felt compelled to create an account just to provide some positive feedback if there are others in doubt. I was referred (see dragged) to the spa by my wife who has a thing for the cabana boy look with lots of resistance since I'd had a bad experience at a different business. In spite of my best efforts I felt quite comfortable after a few minutes with my attendant - a very friendly BALL of energy named Nina. She was extremely personable, very reassuring all the while maintaining a very controlled ambiance of professionalism. Surprisingly, she was indeed very well informed and competent with the medical questions I had as well (I think she told me she was RN?) which helped alleviate the rest of my apprehension. In short, I'm happy, the missus is thrilled, and I'll definitely be going back in the future if whenever the occasion calls for a treatment. Highly recommend. read more

I've only had great experiences at Hulya's! My laser hair results were incredible and I only have to shave every other month after 6 treatments when I previously had to shave twice a day!! I've been burned by bad Groupons in the past when trying to get laser hair removal so I decided to book an eyebrow waxing here before buying the groupon. Hulya, the part owner did the waxing for me 6 months ago and did a great job and answered the MANY questions that I had about laser hair and other services they offer during the session. I was able to buy the services through them at the same price Groupon offered - I'm always happy to help out a local business directly and not through Groupon! Lisa H gave me a consultation over the phone about getting laser and did all off my treatments. I HIGHLY recommend her!! She was so knowledgeable and professional about everything and did an incredible job with my treatments! She was very diligent and effective and we had great conversations during my sessions which was distracting from the feeling of the laser. The treatments were EXTREMELY effective on me because of my hair and skin type. It's best if you have lighter skin and dark, thick hair. I recommend getting treatments done in the winter time so that you don't have sun exposure from wearing shorts and so that you can go longer without shaving between treatments. I got sun burnt a few weeks before a scheduled treatment and they worked with me to reschedule a few times so that I could wait for my skin to completely heal so that the laser didn't damage my skin. It's obvious in the negative reviews below that they either didn't have the right skin type for laser hair removal or they didn't make sure to restrain from sun exposure. read more

My daughters's arms got burned in one of the sessions a year after she started treatment and there are still burnt marks in her arms. She wasn't able to wear short sleeves for a year and half. When we complained, we were told that she probably hadn't drank enough water and was dehydrated, but never addressed the fact that the nurse had just been hired and didn't know what she was doing. We spent thousands of dollars in this establishment and got nothing in return. I purchased a groupon for six laser hair removal treatments and after completing the whole process noticed almost no effects. I was told I need another 2-6 treatments to complete . Well, seven treatments later I see maybe 40% hair reduction. WTH? I complained and was told again, I may need about 24 treatments to see full results. EXCUSE ME? Did a little google research and learned it should only take about 8 treatments to see results, and no more than 12 for more stubborn hair. And I totally agree with other costumers complaining about the manager. Kim is absolutely rude and cold. She has always made me feel very uncomfortable and I'm not a person that gets easily intimidated . She claims to be a nurse (repeated it about a hundred times). Well, so am I. I found Hulya's through a Groupon and bought six laser treatments. The first few treatments were all with different nurses and varied quite a bit, I wasn't really seeing any results. I found that I got much better results when I saw Sara (who is also super nice and professional) and started requesting to schedule my appointments with her, which they have mostly been able to accommodate. Since it seemed to be going well I bought three more treatments without a groupon. They have changed machines several times, from IPL to Diode to Candela. Pros: They have later hours so regular people with jobs to work around can still get an appointment. The rooms are large and comfortable and have various cleansing supplies available. They send appointment reminder texts and offer frequent email deals. Facility is in a nice area with plenty of parking. Relatively affordable, especially for this area. Cons: My consultation was very brief and there isn't really an explanation of the different machines they're using. Prices seem to change frequently, it would be nice if they were posted online. Sometimes they change my appointment by 15-30mins without contacting me to see if I can make the new time. My recommendation to the facility would be to work on their communication with customers. My recommendation to current/potential customers would be to ask questions as needed and find a technician that you like and trust. read more

The place was clean. The front desk help were very friendly and knowledgeable. I did have to wait once while the technician went to get coffee for almost 20 minutes. If you know you have a client, wait for coffee. Anyway, I got laser hair removal and was really nervous the first time. I had a different lady the second time and she was great. Made me feel really comfortable with getting up in there and talked through different ideas. She was really personable too. It hurt really badly, but they offer squeeze balls and ice packs after.
