He is super attentive, very observant and thoughtful, and a total wizard. If you properly explain what you want, he can do it. They also give you free bang trims if you cut your hair there. I have since moved to New York and I miss Patrick and Clementine so much! Can't wait to cut my hair here the next time I'm in Boston. TL;DR: I scheduled a 30 minute haircut in advance and got a 10 minute rush cut after waiting 20 minutes into my appointment. The result is a curly bob cut 1+ inches too short and crazy uneven. I booked a 30 minute appointment online, and when I came into the salon I waited 20 minutes into this time to finally be called. It was a Saturday and the stylists were backed up, and I can understand that struggle! But I sat for so long without anyone giving me a heads up that they were running late, or acknowledging me at all, really. I have curly hair and the stylist didn't even sit me down in her chair to get a look at what kind of curls I have and how they dry. She put me right under the sink to wash, and when I got to the chair I specified twice that I wanted my hair cut shoulder-length when DRY (just more than a trim from the current length). Instead, she cut my hair so that it barely tickles my shoulders when wet -- and when it's dry, it's over an inch above my shoulder. To boot, it's also crazy uneven all the way around, and puffs out terribly. This all happened in 10 minutes (the last 10 minutes of my 30 minute appointment) I really believe this salon must live up to the reviews on better days, but I've personally never had such a hasty and impersonal haircut and such bad results, so I don't think I will be returning.

I've been going to Salon 22 pretty consistently for about a year now, and will not be going anywhere else for my hair needs. While I haven't gotten balayage or any advance coloring aside from a glaze, Renee hits the mark every.single.time with what I want. She works quickly and listens to what you ask.
