This place was awesome!! We completed The Kill Room! The puzzles were hard, the room was amazing/creepy, and all the puzzles made sense. The story was fantastic and the employees were wonderful! After you're done you're able to purchase another ticket for 20% off that never expires and you can use for any room. That was a nice deal! We played Ronnie's Room! Our host was amazing! So scary! It was exhilarating! We were all screaming and laughing, having the time of our lives. It was a challenge to solve but luckily you can ask for the host to give you nudges and hints, which is the only reason we were successful. 10/10 highly recommend! read more

7/11/20 8 pm kill room group! Most of our group hadn't done an escape room before and this was a great time! It was challenging but not impossible. How interactive it was was great and massive props to the actor!! He was menacingly fun and a great sport - especially given the fact that we're ridiculous scaredy cats - LOL - 5 stars for his acting! Highly recommend! :) read more

I did NW escape with 3 of my buddies just to see what all the hype was about... when we got there, I realized we were going to be "locked" in a room with another family who were also doing the experience.. We were all doing DB cooper so this was not a scary escape room if you don't like horror... it started out with us walking into an actual staged cabin that has been built for room, after entering we were greeted by an FBI agent.., that's where I'll leave it... I don't want to give away the rest of the adventure, it was a lot of fun and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cool group activity... I'm going back for my birthday to do the hangover room... cheers! read more

We got each of our children and grandchildren escape room tickets for Christmas and finally coordinated and scheduled our family (18) to experience different rooms at the same time. This was one of the BEST family experiences we have done so far! i personally did the DB Cooper room with my His and son and daughter in law. What a blast!! Going in we thought "HA! we've got this". NOT so! We had so much fun trying to find clues and thank goodness Geoff from NW escapes (FBI sargent-major haha) communicated through walk-in talkie! He gave us valuable clues and we actually survived with 16 seconds to spare! All others LOVED their experiences also! A larger group went into Ronnie's House and LOVED it and another family group had a blast in the Polybius expereince! We all had pizza after and every single member of our family is eager to go back and experience the other rooms! Staff was amazing - from check-in to end! What a FUN thing to do!! Thank you NW Escape for making amazing family memories - and thank you Geoff for all your help and humor!! If you're on the fence - GO!! The rooms were not "cheesy" - everything was put together so well and the staff and overseers are awesome! read more

I've been to my fair share of escape rooms in the Portland area, and hands down this is my favorite room. The theme is scary but not too much, puzzles are challenging but not impossible. Staff here makes you feel comfortable and they were very understanding when we had to reschedule last minute due to the increment weather. The location could be hard to find, but if you follow the address it takes you to two blocks of warehouse -like buildings, and it's the first space to the left when you turn into the parking lot. An exceptional escape room experience. Staff is helpful and in character. Rules of the game are explained quickly and clearly and then you are off to your game! The outside of the games are decorated in the same style as the inside which is very immersive. Puzzles are a mix of codes and automatically opened locks. Make sure to ask for a hint. You will likely need one. read more

This is the most amazing place! We have done 3 of their rooms, and we will do the 4th in a couple weeks. They do such an amazing job of putting the puzzles together. I sometimes get lost in the "how'd they do that?" before realizing that we are still in the middle of a puzzle. All of their rooms I would highly recommend. Our most recent is the Jurassic Tours Room. We went for my sons birthday, so it was me and my wife and four 11-12 years olds. We survived the room with a few minutes to spare! The rooms are all VERY immersive and challenging. Each room is fully decorated, we have been to a couple that have had a fair amount of dead space or "cheaper" decor, but NOT at NW Escape. The Gamemasters are really fair with their clues, they are always enough to get you through the next step, even if you don't think so at first. I have always left the building with a smile on my face. At this time in world history, they are also doing an amazing job of following sanitation and distancing protocols, which is fantastic. Their rules for entering are clear and simple. You must wear a mask to be in the public areas of the "shop" but can be removed for the rooms. The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful (looking at you, Tamara). Thank you for the level of quality you offer in your rooms and the caliber of people you have there! read more

This is my new addiction! Superb experience all around. The staff are caring and respectful and really make this experience a memorable one! A group of us did the Kill room it was cleverly thought out and Ronnie was terrific! It was so creative and surprises around every corner. It was my first experience and will not be my last. While staying in Portland, our family of 7 had an awesome time in the Kill room (we are ages 16 and up). I was initially a little worried that I would have been the one too scared by the theme, but they did a great job of making it way more fun than scary. Great puzzles and just the right amount of clues to keep us all on our toes. We had a blast and escaped with 11 seconds to spare. Every member of their team was great to work with- from booking, to guiding, and it was so cool to interact with a live actor during the experience. This was our favorite escape room experience so far. Highly recommend for a fun night! read more

We did this with our family, who ranged in ages 7-75. We did the DB Cooper room. Though, we didn't make it out (but were soooo close) we had a great time and it was the perfect experience for all ages. Spencer did a great job of moving it along and we thought he was fantastic. My family and I played The Kill Room at their previous location one Christmas a couple of years ago. It was our first escape room game and it was so much fun that we kept playing more. And more. And more! They introduced us to an amazing adventure activity that takes brains instead of brawn. Their game was incredibly well put-together (puzzles, clues, decoration, game-flow) and the game master was a hoot! He stayed in character throughout the game and did a great job of giving just the right clues without ruining surprises. I've since found out that they made the game even better at their new location. I will be checking it out along with their other rooms as soon as I can. I highly, highly recommend them! read more

I have now done every room at NW Escape Experience, and they are all great! My favorite is The Kill Room, which was the first I completed here. We are going to run it again next month because they have made some tweaks since we did it a few years ago, and it was so fun the first time!! I always recommend NW Escape Experience as the #1 place to go in Portland and Vancouver!! read more

We bought a groupon for the kill room for my sister in laws birthday, the owner greeted us warmly and was a wonderful host!! We had the best time trying to solve all the clues with another group and escaped just in time! Our group had an amazing time! The D.B. Cooper room has well thought out clues, several twists and was the right amount of difficulty. I had to reschedule our booking the first time and they were more than accomidating and helpful to do so. My 4 kids went to do this last night and had a blast! Love it! It's so cool we have a place like this in Vancouver...most of the time I would go to Portland for something like this. 9 of my friends and I did the kill room and made it out with just under 3 minutes to spare. It was a little spooky but still suitable for all ages. The puzzles were well thought out and fun to solve.
