I would give this place 3 out of 5. Pizza was huge but very thin and needed more cheese. I didn't get too many pictures. We had lots left over but ate through out the next day. Date: April 8, 2025 It was our last day in SD and hubs was craving NY pizza so yelped around and found this spot close by to our hotel. Called to order because they were about 30 mins from closing and the guy who answered sounded really angry. But we ordered and drove by to pick it up. We got a large pepperoni pizza and then a large garden salad. The pizza just finished as we entered and the salad was done on the spot. Salad was obviously nothing special but their house dressing was delicious! Pizza was also bomb too despite the oil. Wish they were a bit more friendly but I guess that's just the way they speak / it was also close to closing. They only take visa or Mastercard! I've given this place many chances in hopes of it being worth going to. If you're interested in good pizza, I do recommend going. The slices are big and quite delicious. The place seems clean and it's next to a cute flower shop and coffee spot. Big however... the service is ridiculously bad and not just by one person. Over the phone, it's so short and impersonal, it almost feels like they don't want to make a sale. Once, I called and the guy was fairly rude, but then when I got there, he wanted to know if I had a boyfriend!? I said I did, and he continued to make it weird and about my relationship status a second time. Very uncomfortable, I just wanted to buy pizza. Still, I came back about two more times after that, each time receiving terrible service. I won't tolerate being treated poorly from someone I'm paying for a service. I've worked in hospitality and know how it can be, but with this place, I think I've only once received okay service and it was from the woman who was there some time back. If you like thin crust pizza, this is your place. This pizza is among my favorite in the area because the crust is thin, sauce is good and toppings are tasty. However, I sent someone else to pick them up and he did not realize that he had been overcharged by around $20. (He also left them a very generous $30 tip.) When I saw the mistake this morning, I called and spoke to the same gentleman who took my order. I explained the situation and he said the prices had gone up (the posted prices on the menu are incorrect) and did not offer to correct the mistake. I told him I was going to take it up with my credit card. He then called back twice. First time he said he was going to give me $10 off my next purchase. (Sorry, never coming back.) and the second time he said he would credit my card back but that he needed my credit card number. (NO WAY.) I wish I had read the reviews before ordering from here. They say they are a small family business but sometimes that means service is even worse than at a chain. read more

I wanted to feed a large group of coworkers with last minute planning and NY Giant Pizza came through in a clutch. This review is based on needing good quality Togo pizza for a large group. There's no better option. I called right when they opened at 10. I am sure they weren't expecting that as it rang a little long. They were friendly and gave a time estimate of 40 minutes. I ordered one of the giant pizzas with 2 toppings and a salad. Time got away from me and they called at like 42 minutes. I appreciated it and let them know I was almost there. I was always hesitant about this spot but we got a giant pizza last weekend for a group hang and I am desperate to do it again this weekend. It is the most 90s nostalgic pizza you never knew you needed. It is comfort. We got the pepperoni. It was fairly priced. And we had leftovers for days. The giant easy feeds 7-8 people! The spot is clean but bare bones, basic, and I like that. They're not doing anything but making pizzas. It's more of a take out operation than a place to enjoy the pie, though there are tables available. If you get the giant, make sure you have a car (the trunk space) to accommodate it. We get Giant Pizzas from here when we are in the area and recently had 4 Giant Pizzas delivered to Mission Bay for a birthday party. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I called this morning to schedule a delivery for 2 pizzas. The Neanderthal that answered the phone was surly and communicated as if talking wasn't his specialty. To be clear, sentence fragments and grunts would convey more information than what I got on this call. I explained that I wanted to order 2 pizzas and have them delivered to my daughter's school. I asked if he delivered there (it says on their website that they deliver for free within Clairemont). Again, communication was challenging, but I gave him the address and he went on to ask what kind of pizzas I wanted to order. Any normal person would think we are good to go with delivery at this point as he took my order and credit card info. This "gentleman" told me we were all set and attempted to hang up. I stopped him and asked him how much the pizzas were. Silence for several seconds before he grunted $72 into the phone. I stopped him and said there must be a misunderstanding because I did not want $72 worth of pizzas. He said that I told him I wanted 28" which is a flat out lie because I didn't even know that one of the pizza sizes was 28". When I told him I was interested in the 16", which were a more modest $14/pie he got all pissed at me and told me he won't deliver unless I buy the 28" pies. I told him that I would like to cancel the order and he hung up on me like a loser. I wonder how businesses like this stay open while hard working business men and women often have to close. The customer service that I dealt with today was disgusting and grotesque, to be kind. Don't waste your time with these fools.
