They came up highly recommended, that always makes me a little apprehensive. They were right! Got there around 1is, not crowded but there were some patrons - looked like regulars. We got seated right away. Service could not have been better and I base a lot of my reviews on that. One of the staff was clearing the table and accidentally brushed against me, he barely touched me - he couldn't have been more apologetic. Very impressive, I assume management trained him and kudos to them for that! Food was next level! Calamari app was tasty, fresh, tender and delicious. I had the Filet of Sole and it was in an egg batter that was very tasty and perfect. I know it was good because my son had several bites! He also had the gnocchi and I don't think he took a breath while eating it. Definitely be back if I'm in the area again.

The veal looked great but the flavor was truly lacking. Marsala-like sauce was watery without the rich flavor. Could be so much better. The clams were plentiful but needed a bit more linguine. The sauce was so watery and tasted like just clam juice with barely any flavor at all. Lacked the wine garlic deliciousness that normally comes with this dish. So, we won't be returning. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was pleasant overall. Just needs major improvement with food preparation. Flavor makes all the difference.

Enzo's was the only place in which to cap off my wonderful solo trip to New York. This restaurant…read moreis the perfect example of why the Bronx's Little Italy has earned such a stellar reputation. I wasn't sure what to expect walking in on my own knowing Enzo's popularity, but I arrived early enough for what could be late lunch/early dinner. The wait staff immediately made me feel welcome, were attentive without hovering, friendly without being overbearing, and struck that perfect balance that makes dining alone feel comfortable. As I expected, the food was outstanding. I ordered the broccoli rabe and sausage in garlic and oil. It was everything I hoped: savory, flavorful, and filling. The slight bitterness of the broccoli rabe paired beautifully with the rich, well-seasoned sausage. I grew up in Danbury, Connecticut and am no stranger to delicious Italian food. Living in the South for as long as I have, it's really hard to find an Italian restaurant down here that can deliver on any pasta dish that doesn't use tomato sauce. Needless to say, this dish was heavenly. For dessert, I ordered an espresso and the lemon gelato, which turned out to be both delicious and memorable. Not only was it incredibly refreshing after the meal, with a bright, authentic lemon flavor, but it was served inside an actual lemon. The presentation was charming and fun, and the gelato itself was smooth, creamy, and the perfect way to end the evening. Between the excellent food, the welcoming atmosphere, and a staff that made a solo diner feel completely at home, Enzo's delivered exactly the kind of experience I was hoping to find on Arthur Avenue. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in the city.

Since our daughter was sleeping in the stroller we dined outside. My husband ordered chicken parmigiana with a side of spaghetti. I got the chicken capricciosa which was a pounded and breaded chicken cutlet with an arugula salad on top. I really liked that the chicken was super thin. It was quite impressive how thin they pounded the cutlet. It was super easy to cut into. The chicken was perfectly seasoned. I like the salad that it was topped with. It had cheese a lemony dressing with red onions. The only star I knocked off was because we had trouble flagging down a waiter here and there to place our order and get a check, but once we got the waiter we got what we needed quickly. We would return again in the future.

The man behind the counter was very friendly and smiling big. It was pleasant. I asked the slice to be cut down the middle. I put seasonings on one and nothing on the other half. Unfortunately even with the seasonings, there was no flavor. The sauce was bland and cheese was super oily. I might overlook that if the crust was nice and crispy but it too was flavorless and VERY doughy. You know when you can taste the doughy flavor? Yuck.... Let's put it this way.... My dog didn't even want it! Sorry to say it was not enjoyable and I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. Also, for this sad slice, the cost was $3.50! If I work and spend most of my time in Manhattan and even on the upper east side a good slice is $2.50-$2.75, with most places offering lunch specials 2 for $5 with a drink. Joes pizza was disappointing. I'd much rather go down the block and pay the extra $10 for a delicious sandwich from the Italian deli.
