OKAY MGM... this place is LEGENDARY & it lives up to the hype!!! I ordered the humus, a gyro, some wings and something else and I enjoyed it all except the wings. The wings were dry, like they had already fried them and they had been sitting so they dropped em again to get them "hot" and sent them off with me-- that poor chicken lol! So the last time I tried this was when I came here for a volleyball tournament, and I was looking for something quick to eat in the middle of brakes. At that time, I was not much of a Yelper, so I didn't get a chance to take pictures and post. Today I went back with my husband because we were passing through Montgomery and I was able to take pictures and the food was still as amazing as it was when I first tried it. Again it's a hole in the wall, but great food and very affordable. You get more than what you paid for. The only thing is I wish they had a spicy sauce or something to put in there gyros . Had an overnight in Montgomery and looking for a quick good meal. Disappointed in our food here. I have never had a gyro where tzatziki sauce was not part of the gyro. Very disappointed when we opened our carry out gyro and it was as dry as the dessert. I had the lamb and it had decent flavor but was so dry I could barely get it down. My wife had the chicken gyro and it was too spicy for her. Again no sauce to help with the dryness. We got chicken tenders for the kids. I will give it to them that you can tell it was hand breaded and not frozen chicken tenders.....but that's where it stops. It was sitting in grease when we opened the box and did not look appetizing. Fries were okay. Service - I guess maybe the worker was from NYC. Hard to order over the phone and very little interaction when picking up other than taking the money. As much as we wanted to like this place, we just thought it was mediocre at best. The service was lacking: guy taking our order was lukewarm friendly and maybe in New York City that's acceptable, but in the Deep South, a little friendliness goes a long way. Definitely would have helped. We ordered to gyros, a Brooklyn platter, and order of hummus and an order or mozzarella sticks. Came out to a whopping $55. For that much, we should have been wowed. We weren't. The hummus seemed watered down somehow. It was kinda drippy and not much flavor. The chicken was okay, but heavily seasoned and more fatty pieces than I'd have liked. The salad seemed like it had been sitting in the dressing too long. My brother and sister in law said the gyros were just okay. They have fabulous food. I was very impressed. I had one of the plates and my husband who doesn't like anything he considers weird loved the food also. Yum! I stopped in for a quick bite to eat while I was hangry on a Tuesday evening. I ordered the Brooklyn platter which featured your choice of lamb or chicken gyro meat, hummus, pita, and Greek salad. I ordered my order to go. Based on previous reviews I was prepared to wait but was pleasantly surprised that I only waited about 10 min. After being teased all the way home by the delicious smell of my food, I finally arrived and it was time to dig in. For starters they have me a generous helping of some freakin delicious hummus, and a warm side of pita to go with it. My Greek salad was good but I really wish they'd given me more salad. My gyro meat was crispy but not burnt, tender, but not rubbery. The seasonings brought the meal together. The tzatziki sauce was nothing special, kind of yogurty but the hummus made up for it. Upon entering the restaurant there is a unique rendition of the Statue of Liberty some NYC Gyro merchandise for sale. They currently have a special going, get a free sandwich with the purchase of any shirt or sweatshirt. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the lack of AC in the restaurant, bland tzatziki, and the small portion of salad. read more

Stumbled upon this place while driving back from the beach, right down the road from a great coffee shop Prevail Union. Signage was a bit confusing, asked to wear a mask before entering but employees not wearing masks. No problem, followed the rules. We tried several dishes: lamb gyro platter, lamb gyro wrap and falafel. The lamb gyro meat was delicious and portions were adequate. The cucumber/taziki sauce was very garlicky but not too much cucumber flavor. The falafel was fantastic, perfectly crunchy with a nice flavor. We had hummus and babaganoush as sides. Hummus was pretty thick, but tasty. The babaganoush was delicious and I found myself dipping my gyro meat in it instead of the taziki sauce. Walking downtown and taking in the views of beautiful Montgomery, I saw this place and stopped in for dinner. I love little places like this. There's limited space, but certainly enough for the night I visited. I bet it gets busy during lunch hour. Nonetheless, they have an expansive menu, written on chalk, to choose from. The cashier was not particularly pleasant and simply accepted my order of chicken gyro platter. The dish was good and flavorful, but standard Mediterranean food. While I will try this place again, nothing jumped out at me to give it a higher rating. read more

Bc it is the time of Covid 3-stars is extremely generous. Even if this place was less expensive it still would have gotten this review menaingnit was WAY overpriced for serving food out of styrofoam. I ordered the Brooklyn w chicken. It had a yucky dirty knife that cut hecka lamb flavor with some spices. Clearly they microwaved which is unacceptable for the price we paid and it was average cuts of chix with littly dangling chicken fat. The salad veggies were on the verge of being bad, the hummus completely underwhelming, pita bites were good. My husband liked his lamb gyro then tried mine bc i was throwing mist of it away and agreed that mine was just gross. This restaurants location is the one between downtown and Maxwell Air Force Base. It has limited seating and tends to fill up relatively quickly at lunch. Unfortunately with this also means, is that there is usually a significant wait for your food. The restaurant was clean but since there are very few people working there the tables don't get cleaned as quickly as they should. I would attribute this to the volume of customers from the base. We went several times and each time we only saw 2 to 3 people; there was one working the counter and 1 to 2 in the kitchen. The gentleman running the counter and the cash register was very polite, but you could tell on several occasions he was overwhelmed; again due to the volume of customers. Every single time we went the food was very good. We had almost everything on the menu but our favorites were the gyros and the hummus. This became our go to lunch place; we just planned to go early. If you were not in a rush (during the week at lunchtime), then you will not be disappointed by this gyro restaurant. So, we definitely recommend it. read more
