This place is always slow and it shocks me. I tried their Italian sub and it was fantastic. Buddy lives around the corner so I picked up a couple of pizzas for a movie night. 32 bucks for two larges both with at least three toppings. Pizzas were delicious. Staffs friendly. Solid prices. Came here after hockey game, we always pass by and took a shot. The hubby has been looking for a good pizza, sub shop & deli since moving to DFW 3 yrs ago...this place has passed the test! We ordered at the counter and only waited 10-15 min for our order to be done. Only couple ppl were dining in but they had a steady stream of customers picking up orders to go. We ordered a 12 inch "special" pizza (their version of a "supreme" pizza) and a meatball sub. Both items were on point! Pizza crust not too thick, baked just right, good amount of toppings and not overly greasy. The bread on sub was perfect and meatballs and sauce was tasty. Not the best pizza I've had, though I have had worse. Nothing like New York style pizza, even though the person working there told me the owners were from Long Island and Brooklyn. But then I suppose you can't expect real NY style pizza in Texas. Reasonable prices, at least for pizza. $6 for two slices and a soda. Couldn't force myself to finish the second slice. (And I was hungry.) The place needs some work. Booths had torn seats with stuffing coming out. Needs an overall facelift and updating. Will I go back again? Expected a no frills joint with solid people and great sandwhiches and they delivered. As I approached the counter I said "I want the best sandwhich you make". With out hesitation the employee replied "soprano" and after eating it I don't know how he could be wrong. It was fantastic. The perfect crunch of the crust on the hoagie bread gave way to a soft was middle. The flavors.of the meet melded together beautifully with the creamy cheese and tangy vinegar and tomato. My husband and I enjoy their vegetarian sandwich, you can tell they use the best quality ingredients. We had also tried their pizza and it's very good. I personally go there because of their desserts. I am not a chocolate cake person, but theirs is freaking amazing! any dessert that you pick is going to be super flavorful and the portions are giant. (I also highly recommend the cheesecake) The place has a very friendly atmosphere and the food tastes very homemade. I just wish they had more choices for vegetarians. read more

Nice little hole in the wall. I had the Soprano sandwich as recommended and it did not disappoint. Perfect ratio of meat and bread and a nice sauce to bring it all together. The bun was soft with a little crunch and very tasty which you can't always say these days. They have RC and IBC root beer which was a nice change and the chips were Zappos out of Naleans! I've been to this place plenty of times over the years. I've never really been disappointed, but it is a sandwich/pizza place. You're not going to find gourmet Italian food here, so get that out of your head. The pizza is thin, sliced big, and a little greasy. It's good. You're probably here for the sandwiches though... I was a vegetarian for six years and have eaten many of their vegetarian sandwiches. Ironically, it's the most expensive sandwich on the menu. I love it though. Their bread is good and the veggies are fresh and cut well. I usually got it with honey mustard instead of the house dressing. And hey, you can't knock a place with cheap (and pretty good) tiramisu. 3 stars for being local AND good. read more

It kills me to do this, because this place is probably my nearest place to eat, but I have given these guys so many chances and I can't justify anything more than 2 stars here. I first tried NYPD Deli during my quest for good NY style pizza in the D/FW (and more specifically Euless) area. Their pizza is flavorless. Nuff said. Saviano's and Napoli are nearby places that serve up far superior pizza. But, since I am a huge fan of supporting local businesses, I decided that maybe I shouldn't judge a deli on their pizza, and tried their sandwiches....twice. It's not that they were inedible, or even bad or anything like that, but the quality wasn't really any better than Jason's Deli (and no free ice cream to boot.) I'm surprised by all of the other glowing reviews, so, since I am a sucker for the local guy, I'll probably give these guys another chance, but, for now I can't justify anything higher. read more

Yay free beer! Oh no, terrible terrible pizza. I drank my beer, choked down half my slice, and left to get lunch somewhere else. Maybe it was an off day at NYPD? The DFW area is privileged to have some really great pizzerias (e.g. Big Joe's Pizza and Tony's Pizza are both nearby and outstanding), how NYPD is still in business baffles me. Is it because it's near the freeway? Next to a pool hall? Seriously? Maybe their sandwiches are good (they look good in the pictures posted here at least). Just don't eat the pizza. If you don't want to go far, Lushaj's Pizza is just down the road about 1/2 a mile. It's the closest escape from NYPD. read more

Quick, tasty lunch under $10. The pizza looked iffy, so I passed, but I'm definitely impressed with the meatball sub. The cheese was gooey and plentiful and the roll was perfect! Light and pillowy with a spot- on crunch. Exactly like a NY meatball parm sub should be. I would definitely return. read more

We stopped here on our way to Home Depot and got sandwiches. Their pizza looked delicious but it was 100+ so we wanted something cool. They were delicious sandwich's. The ability to put any sandwich on low carb wrap is big plus for me. Wrap was very good and I will return.
